I’d rather it just let you lunge while carrying a survivor
-
For survivors it’s not too bad. There’s a few really good universal perks there (Deja Vu, Resilience, Kindred, We’ll Make It already make up a pretty solid build) and you’ve got Meg for free who has some of the best perks in the game. And then there’s Dwight and Bill who have some decent perks for new players and Feng if you are console who has some good perks as well. The Stranger Things perks weren’t really that good compared to what other perks they have available.
Killers though it will be worse. The only good universal perks there are Sloppy and NOED. Everything else is just bad. The free killers also don’t have many good perks either aside from Hillbilly. None of the free killers have any slowdown perks aside from Thanatophobia which is not a good perk and none of the free killers can even use it well. Jolt/Surge was the only regression perk new players had and now they won’t have anything which kinda sucks.
Curtain Call should just be a free DLC at this point so killers can have someone with some form of regression with Pop and survivors would get access to WoO which is very helpful for new players.
-
I don’t agree with him. Yes 12 hooking is more fun than tunneling, but it still isn’t fun for the survivors playing against a killer out of you skill level where the chases don’t last long and the everyone’s dead at 5 gens.
He only wants easy games so he can talk to his chat, which I can understand, but if he just wants to talk and doesn’t actually care about the game I don’t see why losing to him is that big of a deal. Just talk to your chat and if the survivors steam roll you it doesn’t really matter.
-
Yes please! This would be amazing!
Just imagine how cool the combos would look with Singularity slipstreaming his opponents!
-
I’m surprised Haddie is so low. I see her so much now.

I don't know if they tweak'ed mmr but i highly doubt. But what is happens i think, casual players ( mostly survivors ) are leaving DbD since they have not fun anymore.
Like dying is fine but when you just lose and lose countless times, it's no longer fine anymore. Every match killer is tunnelling someone out and then getting their easy 4Ks. Solo and casual SWFs are not getting enough wins. It's really not surprising me to see BP bonus on survivor most times.
More casual leaves DbD = More sweaty survivors you will face. Nature of matchmaking.
I agree that it’s probably because the casual player base is leaving, but I don’t think it’s because survivors are giving up. It’s probably just because the Halloween event ended so the influx of returning players have left and there’s nothing new right now until the next patch. A lot of casual players only play when there’s new content and then leave shortly after.
The BP bonus is always on killer for me, so I really doubt the player base has shrunk that much but the lack of new content until Chucky releases is probably why people are taking a break.
I’ve seen this “has MMR changed” panic happen often and it’s always just after or just before a big update. I don’t think anything has changed, the casual players are just taking a break because the hype from the event is gone and there is nothing new right now so it’s only the dedicated player base remaining.
-
She would be way too weak with just 1 blink, especially when you also increased the fatigue time so she can't even use it to catch up.
It might work if she was 110% and had a longer recharge time so she can't spam it, but I still think there are better ways to change Nurse.
-
The more casual player base is probably taking a break after the Halloween event and waiting for Chucky so you might be getting paired with people closer to your MMR because there is less casual players right now.
For me though it doesn't really feel much different. Some hard, some easy.
-
I wouldn't put much faith in their 'priority list'. They never mentioned Trickster yet he just got a huge buff. Any killer could receive changes next patch. Blight changes would be great but it could just as likely be a Nemesis rework or a Hag buff. Could be anything.
I would hope though that with all the recent complaints and discussions about Freddy they at least bump him up the list but I doubt it.
-
Deliverance is one of the best perks in the game. It doesn’t need any buffs.
Spine Chill had the line of sight requirement added because it stealth killers too weak. They really don’t need to bring that back, it was nerfed for a reason. I also don’t think vault speed should be modifiable with perks outside of Resilience.
Breakdown is too strong. You did nothing but get downed and now the killer is punished. You can easily force the killer to use that same hook or against a team of people with Breakdown it would be miserable to play against and just encourage the killer to tunnel to avoid it triggering 4 times before getting a kill.
Visionary is also too strong. 9% is a lot, especially if you stack it with a toolbox, Deja Vu, or Resilience. And then the killer can’t even track you and loses track of the gen. It does too much for too little effort.
Hyperfocus is fine as it is. No need to change it.
Calm Spirit, I agree with the removal of the penalty but I feel making you completely silent would only hurt Doctor who is already not in a great spot right now. I say just remove the penalty but keep the silent cleansing/booning so now it’s a pretty decent counter to Hexes and works better with Boons and Inner Strength.
I like the Red Herring change. Probably still wouldn’t be good but would be really fun.
-
- Make him quieter so you can’t track his exact location through walls.
- Add more lockers so that there isn’t massive dead zones where his TP can’t even reach.
- Add Haddie’s Calendar base kit.
- Make teleporting in Daytime faster.
- Maybe even make it so Dredge can activate Nightfall when they want to. So if it’s fully charged they can press a button to activate when it’s most convenient rather than have it activate automatically
- Give him a little hat.
Also it’s devastating to see Freddy in last place. He really needs something too :(
-
More experienced killers wouldn’t have much of an issue with it but it would be way too punishing to newer killers who haven’t learnt about hook spawns yet.
The only people that would get consistent value from it are sabo squads, and I don’t think SWFs need more perks like that.
I don’t think Boil Over can ever really be good. The way it’s designed means it’s either going to be completely useless or extremely exploitable.
-
Wraith and Wesker have the best designed add ons.
Most of them have some use, none of them are overpowered, a lot of variety which allows the killer multiple play styles while at the same time none of them greatly affect the counter play to them so survivors don’t have to re-learn the timing for each add on. Neither of them feel add on dependant either so you can run whatever you want.
Legion and Doctor’s are pretty good too but they feel much more dependant on certain add ons so I don’t think they are up there with Wraith and Wesker.
-
Because MFT and UW aren't fun to play against. Why would we want more unfun perks?
They tried this with Eruption, Overcharge, Boil Over, Buckle Up, and now Background Player. None of them were/are fun to play against. And for some of those it only took a slight number buff to push them over the edge.
Buffing things to MFT level wouldn't even solve the low variety issue because people would still run the one that is slightly stronger. For example, Sprint Burst is an amazing perk yet everyone is still running MFT.
-
Honestly Quentin is the only part of the Nightmare on Elm Street DLC that is actually good.
Hopefully he gets some love in the future and he finally gets some cosmetics.

Originally, when freddy came out, it was not a thing, devs decided to add it later for some reason
Yeah they added it in when they were nerfing every aspect of Freddy a week or so after his release. He got a lot of pointless nerfs. I remember them even mentioning on stream they wanted to nerf Remember Me so if you kill the obsession you lose half your stacks but the backlash stopped them.
I still have no idea why they decided to give it to Adrenaline, a perk that was still meta at the time, and not Wake Up!, a low tier perk that literally is called 'Wake Up' and belongs to Quentin.
This interaction is long overdue to be removed and Freddy still needs a lot more than just this change.
-
I don't think him being hard to play is really an issue, but he does need some changes so he's not so frustrating.
- Make it so a leaf doesn't block his cameras
- Let the amount of lock on progress linger for half a second so if something small does block it you aren't heavily punished
- Fix the placement logic
- Make it so the anti-camping mechanic doesn't activate if the survivor is dead and being sacrificed.
- Prioritise targeting a pod that was just placed for a few seconds so that you don't accidentally select the pod halfway across the map
That's all he needs really. These changes would make him less frustrating to play and a little bit easier while still keeping the skill level and not making him much stronger.
-
These kill rates are from over a year ago and do not represent the current state of the game. Freddy was decent at that time as it was the gen kick meta which combo'd well with his power. Now that gen kick perks are nerfed he's got nothing going for him. And he just lost his ability to place snares through walls, which he had during these kill rates.
These stats don't represent anything. They are way too outdated and you can't reliably use these stats without seeing the pick rate or disconnect/give up rate for the killer.
Either way, whether Freddy is good or not, he still is in need of a rework to make him more fun to play as and against.
-
I think it might be the “that was a rough map” part honestly.
If you are saying it to someone after they lost then they are probably frustrated and saying that might make them feel worse.
If you say it after you lost then it’s just because people are jerks and they probably think you’re looking for an excuse as to why you lost so they bring out the “nah maps good you just suck” thing.
I’ve never been flamed for saying “gg” beyond someone saying “nah” or “no that was a bad game”. But if I say more then there’s something for them to use against me.
I don’t think gg or anything you said is toxic, but some people in this community love to attack everyone for no reason.
-
I like playing against him but playing as him is pretty frustrating.

I used it on Xeno.
But not for chase.
I use it to have a very short cooldown when breaking turrets.
Bombrush a turret with m1 and you barely lose any distance in chase. Very useful.
Not optimal but useful.
Does that actually work? From what it seems when I play Xeno breaking turrets seems to count as a 'missed' attack as if you were to hit a wall, kind of like Dredge breaking locks. So I don't think STBFL would affect that.
-
I wouldn't say the perk is bad on them, but it is overrated. Especially Demo who is better off using Black Heart and just going for Shred as much as possible.
-
I know it's not horror and I don't know how it would work but a Hollow Knight skin for someone would make me really happy.
-
I feel like reverting Stridor’s nerf would be a good start. While I don’t think you should be forced to run a perk just for accessibIlity reasons, having the option to run Stridor to counter Iron Will or Off the Record would be a good compromise to be more accessible while not being something could be abused by the rest of the player base.

I do fine without the perk.
And I do fine without exhaustion perks and WoO, doesn’t mean they should get nerfed.
-
I guess it depends on why you play Pig.
Do you play her mainly for Ambush? Then Chucky is better for you.
Do you want access to built-in slowdown with RBTs? Then Pig is better.
Can you deal with playing a 110 killer? If not stick with Pig.
Do you play her mainly for stealth? Neither Pig nor Chucky's stealth is particularly great so go based on the other points or just play a stealth killer like Wraith.
If you don't like Pig then don't keep playing her but I don't think Chucky is going to play much like Pig does aside from both having a dash.

No its not. Did you not read my post? Its very boring and uncounterable to go up against when in terms of an M2 Killer. It also encourages them to not use their power making their performance bad. Killers stop learning how to win chases/play optimally because of this perk, And when killers start to become terrible, BVHR will either buff them again or nerf loops/maps to compensate when really it's the lack of skill because killers rely on a single perk. I'm not asking it to be nerfed because it's OP. It's really not. I'm asking for it to be nerfed because its harmful in the long run. We're already seeing it with Demogorgons. They rarely shred anymore and it's not fun plus they lose more games micro-managing a perk. It's very unhealthy. But tell me why you think its fine please. Their must be a reason other than "It's not strong."
The only killers who can do that reliably are Demo and arguably Pig and Nemesis. None of which need nerfs.
And a Demo using STBFL and going for M1s is weaker than a Demo who uses actually uses their Shred. They are pretty much giving up free hits just so they can build their stacks. Demo is honestly better off without STBFL. There is a lot of new Demo players due to the Stranger Things re-release so you would be seeing and influx in STBFL because of that. Once the hype dies down and people go back to their mains you’ll see less STBFL Demo’s.
Nerfing this perk would just make the weaker killers weaker and make more people play Blight and Wesker. Fix the gap between the low and high tier killers first and then see if STBFL needs changes.
-
They're fine.
They might be annoying to deal with but Dead Hard and MFT are so much worse. SB and Lithe will probably be the best exhaustion perks in the game but I bet I'll still prefer playing against that then nerfed MFT + Dead Hard.
-
I like the Urban and Bloodhound changes but This Is Not Happening would be broken. 10% for 10 seconds is massive, especially with toolboxes or Hyperfocus to give you more skill checks. Pair it with Resilience and Deju Vu and that's 25% bonus speed plus whatever the toolbox would give you..
The 2% bonus is also too good. Pair it with Stake Out's extra bonus and Hyperfocus and gens will fly. And with it being 70% larger you'll never struggle to hit those Hyperfocus skill checks so everyone is just going to be repairing gens at an insane speed.
-
I don't think it's too bad. I've been hit with it a few times and it is frustrating but usually I can play around it.
The only thing that really annoys me about it is how even if they don't get the save they've still got half of the speed boost remaining to super speed away and avoid being punished. Not a big deal but it does feel bad when you predict someone will BGP over and you position yourself well only for the survivor to still have 3 seconds of super speed left and avoid being hit.
-
They weren’t over nerfed but the tail does feel a bit worse since release. I don’t know if it’s bugged or just because the changes made it feel different. The changes are kind of like Pyramid Head where it was necessary and still left them pretty strong but made them feel clunkier.
Still a fun and strong killer though.
-
I really don't like Distortion on both sides.
As killer I don't like how it makes aura builds near useless and I often just don't run aura perks now because running one against someone with Distortion just makes it so I keep finding the survivors who don't have Distortion. I'm All Ears is a fun perk but I don't want to run it because Distortion just makes it a detriment to you.
As survivor I don't like how the survivor running Distortion is almost never going to be found and it means the killer is going to kill someone earlier as they can't find the person with Distortion.
Balance wise it's fine, and there's way more important stuff to address first, but I think it's design is pretty unhealthy.
-
@Nazzzak said:
They also nerfed the Glass Bead add on for survivors to prevent spamming, which was only done for a laugh in matches. I dunno what informs their decision making.
Seriously? Why? I've literally never seen anyone use that add on.
-
The problem with Made for This is that's a permanent Haste with zero downsides.
Rapid Brutality is on a very short duration (and a third of it is eaten up by the wipe animation without STBFL) and has the massive drawback of losing Bloodlust AND only works on M1 killers
Batteries Included only activates in a small radius of an area the killer should NOT be in and only lasts 5 seconds afterwards.
The MfT nerf brings it in line with these perks being that it now has a downside and a limited duration.
-
It's so sad seeing him like this. He has the most counter play out of every killer for a power that isn't even good. Even if you made it so survivors are always asleep he would still be awful because he just has nothing going on for him, awake or asleep.
Even his buffs are nerfs. The Oblivious 'buff' did nothing but prevent him from using terror radius perks and gave him zero benefits because, as you mentioned. his lullaby completely negates the stealth. He has zero synergy with anything except gen kick perks, which is not a very healthy killer design.
@indieeden7 said:
I think people need to learn the difference between a nerf and a bugfix...
It was a bug fix but one that was completely unnecessary. This bug has been in the game for over a year now and it made him slightly fun to play and gave him some form of a skill ceiling while not even being that strong of a buff. They've already made other bugs features before in the past so I don't see why this had to be fixed. It was a nerf in a way that people have been playing this bugged version of Freddy for over a year now.
The fact it took them over a year to notice this bug should be a sign at just how few people actually play Freddy.
-
Even just giving him some personality would be good.
Chucky’s voice lines and animations are so good and it feels like playing as Chucky. While Ghostface doesn’t speak, his animation have a lot of personality to them.
Then there’s Freddy who has the posture of a dorky teen and places puddles. It doesn’t feel like you are playing as Freddy Krueger.
He’s just wasted potential in every aspect.
-
@Avo said:
As far I heard, they will rework Freddy though. I think they will do something about it in the future
Unfortunately they never mentioned anything about a rework just that he’s “on the list for some changes but nothing planned right now”.
This could be anything from a rework to giving him 1 extra snare sadly.

@UnusedAccount said:
I hate to think that is almost 60% killrate on nightlight is true if they nerfed the guy.
That could explain why he is such a low priority for them :/

@Xernoton said:
Are we really nerfing Freddy? Again? Hasn't the poor guy suffered enough already? Well, I guess his name is all the more fitting now. He is a Nightmare indeed. A nightmare to play, that is.
First he is butchered with a bunch of nerfs all aimed to make him as weak as possible. Then his best perks are nerfed (not a direct nerf to him but it does affect him still). Then, you nerfed the dream pallets. Multiple times! Seriously, explain this thought process! There weren't any issues with him having a bit of synergy with some perks. And now this too?
If there is one killer in the game, that desperately needs buffs, it's Freddy. He is by far the weakest of them all. Even Trapper has his strengths. Freddy on the other hand is just bad. He doesn't have a power half the time, he has no early game, he has no end game (courtesy of Adrenaline) and when he does have a power, it's pretty bad. He is half a Clown (quite literally, if you have a look at their respective powers). Most popular perks are also pretty bad on him, because they require getting downs, which isn't exactly one of his strengths. Add in the fact that he is countered by basically everything and anything that can or cannot happen and it's pretty clear, that he is in a terrible spot.
Well said. He’s Clown but worse and Clown is already bad. Absolutely the worst killer in the game, especially after this nerf.
“Most popular perks are pretty bad on him because they require getting downs”
Don’t forget Oblivious also prevents him using any terror radius perk. He literally can’t use Dissolution or Ultimate Weapon because of it. So he’s perk selection is pretty limited.
-
Yes they said recently it was planned for early next year
-
The blobby thing was added in Halloween. It appeared there last year as well but this year it’s bigger and has opened up. I assume it will stay like that for awhile. Maybe next Halloween it will change again.
MacMillan maps have multiple variations now. Kind of like how Badham has 5 versions except they don’t list what number they are.
-
We got the Sadako rework with Nicolas Cage.
-
It’s a perk - No One Escapes Death. Once the generators are completed you become exposed and go down in one hit as long as the totem stands. You can see the exposed icon on the side of your screen once the other survivor goes down.
Hex: No One Escapes Death is a General Perk available to all Killers. Quality of Life: Description changed from "Once at least one Exit Gate is opened" to "Once the Exit Gates are powered". This change was actually a bug becoming a feature, as the Perk was not supposed to work prior to at least one Exit Gate having been opened, but already did as soon as the last Generator was powered. Nerf: added a timer of 120 seconds. Nerf: decreased the Movement Speed bonus to 3/4/4 %. Nerf: No One Escapes D -

I think it's bait honestly; think about it like this; Trickster's Knife(s) is there, Clown's Blade is there, and Legion's Blade is there. The common trait between them is that they have all be reworked at some point in their lifespan within the game.
The large knife could be hinting towards Myers receiving a rework; there are many scenes where Myers just takes kitchenware and uses them as a weapon, and all the other knifes are held up like kitchenware.
Either that or it's a double teaser, maybe we're both right.
They said recently though that Myers won’t be receiving any changes anytime soon.
He’s on “The List” but not a high priority so I doubt this is for a Myers rework.

Clown’s knife has more blood around it than the others.
This clearly means the chapter is a joke and we are getting Jaws.

Since Blight release, I already see Blight has the most use of BBQ, 4sec with 230% speed is alot different than 115%, Spirit has 176% but she cant see aura.
Now perks like No where to hide has the range where killers are, high tier killers benefit even more. Blight & Wesker pretty much map wide. Lethal pursuit is also insane on Blight that he can injure a survivor and the aura reading is still stay for another hit.
I think aura perks should be changed that if they start chase, aura should disable, so Trapper/Myer certainly have the most use of the perks, while Blight & Wesker have less.
Interesting idea but that wouldn't change anything because the aura reading isn't needed in the chase. Blight and Nurse probably got the hit on you before the game even registered a chase is happening.
Just nerf Nurse and Blight. No need to change how the game works just because of 2 characters that should've been nerfed ages ago.

Skull Merchant and Artist's backstories make me not like them.
Xenomorph and Plague's lack of a weapon hit animation makes them feel less satisfying to play.

I would play him a lot more if his cameras weren’t blocked by the smallest objects.
It gets frustrating locking onto a survivor, having a branch or leaf obstruct them for half a second and reset your entire progress and now they are out of reach or managed to get to an EMP.

Nooooo!
Guess I'll just have to learn how to use Nurse's old range addons then.
