Your example doesn't demonstrate anything about the dependency of perk slots and # of perks in the game. At best, it demonstrates that as more perks are added to the game, choices will have to be made with regards to which direction you want your character builds to go and which perks are the best for that goal. And you have certainly not demonstrated that that is a bad thing.
Woah u started to get it! Congrats
More perks = more choices to the point it will be impossible to make a complete build, frustrating

i'm sure for hitler his plan for his "better world" was clear as water in his own mind now but doesn't make it a good idea again sorry. there is a reason you seem to be the only person in this thread that thinks we need more perk slots lol. It just seems like you "want" a stronger build to do better in the game that is really the vibe i am getting.
It is a matter of complete the builds when so many choices will make no room to have fun with cool perks
Now you have to choose between sabotage, healer, sprinter... Builds (4 perks) but with 122 perks you will have to choose among x7 more lol is it THAT much hard to capsize?
I want a real reply with higher IQ than mine

What you are arguing in this post is that more perk slots would lead to more powerful builds, not that the number of perk slots and the number of perks in the game are directly related.
Partially, is an example

wow my comment magically disappears? Kid you need to finish high school before telling people to complete or repeat high school. Your math argument does not hold water cuz when this game came out the 4 perk slots were never based on how many perks the game had so it doesn't matter how many we have now cuz the devs never looked at perks as "ok we have x amount of perks so we need y amount of perk slots" they looked at the ability to put perk builds together that weren't to op or weak and even with all the perks we have no there are a lot of perks that can be put into the same categories as other perks so basically you just gotta mix match until you find what works for you, you an either have 4 perks from different categories or 4 perks from the same type of category or do what most people do and experiment until you find a perk build that suits your playstyle. I am sorry that you feel you need more than 4 perks to be good at this game and succeed but just be patient try different builds until you find one that works for you and i think you will see that you don't really "NEED" more than 4 perk slots and the game was never intended for more than 4 perk slots and that is the reason your math argument doesn't hold water kiddo sorry.
Replied above

maybe finish high school then tell people to repeat it themselves kid, just cuz there are more perks does not mean there needs to be more slots, the match argument doesn't hold water cuz the devs didn't give us four perk slots at the start based on how many perks there were in the beginning, the devs weren't saying okay we have x amount of perks so based on that we will give survivors y amount of perk slots lol they gave us 4 slots because that is enough slots to mix match perks within to build a fair build, having 122 perks doesn't change that logic, regardless of how many there are they all can be put into categories where as certain perks have stuff in common with other perks etc etc, so really nothing has changed, you got 4 slots you can mix match categories or you can fill up that build with 4 perks from the same category. but your math argument doesnt work cuz it was never based on the number of perks vs perk slots to begin with so stop humiliating people and just work on getting a better build and getting better at the game and then you won't feel the need to have more than 4 perk slots to do better in the game.
I don't buy it @TAG also
The number of perks it is directly related to the number of slots
I can get better builds with new bigger combinations of perks currently can't, and will be bigger with the increase of perks
Example 1: now you have unnerving presence + distressing like a typical dual combo, as typical dual combos there are many others. With the new perks more combos will appear making no room for the essentials
Example 2: in 5yrs you will have 20 perks for building a sprinter build vs the 7 you have now, logic
Example 3: new perks bring new needs, for instance, new perks to fight back, steal items, craft items.. will make impossible to combine enough of them for a build with just 4 slots
I dont know why I need to explain this so much, for me its clear as water

@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/344834#Comment_344834
Where is your proof that it is dependent? Source? Dev statement? Anything that is more than just you declaring that it is?
I paste it again:
DbD was born: have 7 choices for a second chance build to place in 4 slots
In 5 years: have 17 choices for a second chance build to place in 4 slots!!?!!?

@TAG said:

I'm not following your logic. Sure, there were X perks and Y perk slots at the start of the game, but nowhere has it been demonstrated that the number of perk slots for a character was dependent on the number of available perks in the game.
It is totally dependent:
DbD was born: have 7 choices for a second chance build to place in 4 slots
In 5 years: have 17 choices for a second chance build to place in 4 slots!!?!!?
-
@TAG said:

Please elaborate on what "maths equivlancy" is.
For the 90th time
1. When DBD was born we got X perks and X slots
2. Now we have 7X perks but NOT 7X slot (equivalency fail)
3. In the 5th year with exactly 122 surv perks we still have 4 slots (equivalency epic fail)
4. I bet all of my money we will have more slots when reach 122 perks (signed on 3rd March 2019)
Do you wanna have limited fun with 4 slots from 122? Answer!!! Y/N

Doing awesome math doesn't necessarily make your point any stronger.
You're still missing out on a big part of your idea, which you STILL fail to address.
U fail to get the point and surrender to maths equivalency

"It's balanced because everyone can do it" is a really weak argument.
With 122 perks, the 4-slot system won't prevail, I bet all of my money on that
-
@Boss said:

I don't need to make a strong argument when you don't make a strong reason why we should have more than 4 Perk slots.
And yes, i have read your main reason why. π
@Boss said:
It doesn't matter how many Perks exist if you don't have the game balanced around having more than 4 Perks per character.
And it's not.
And it's not going to be.
Though i kinda wish Killers had a 5th, Hex-exclusive slot. π
If u don't consider the exact science of maths equivalency a strong argument, then u should repeat highschool

why do you need a 2nd chance build? why is your first build not working?
Is just an example as "gen rush" build or "sprinter" build, plz do not change the subject

@DwikeyMain84 said:

cuz it isn't about how many perks you run its about how you choose your "perk build" doesn't mattter if there is a million perks to choose from the point is to pick 4 of them any 4 of them for a particular play style you are going for, the perks aren't meant to guarantee you a win or make you a God. Just cuz there are more perks to choose from doesn't change the fact that the point is to pick 4 perks that you believe go together well and will help you out in your match.
Nope it does matter; if now you have 7 perks to choose 4 for a "second chance" build, is not the same as if you have 17 (after 122 perks) for the same "second chance" build
-
@TAG said:

In order to make a compelling case for raising the number of available perks, I'd say you have to successfully argue that the game's balance would not be damaged/broken by adding more perk slots.
Of course this will not since everyone has the same opportunity to counter with same number of perks
Maths is an exact science, and 122 vs 4 will make increase the number of slots by common sense
Otherwise, you simply cannot enjoy the game enough as you could with just a choice of 4 vs 122,
Time will aknowledge me if DBD lives 5yrs more in some moment
-
@Gamzello said:
If we had 8 perks the game would become super dull quickly. Thatβs why we have something called; a perk build.
If you want a certain playstyle you can use perks that can be compatible with each other.
When u have 122 surv perks in 5 years, then you can still have playstyle builds of 8 perks,
do you understand how big number is 122 vs 4?

@Eveline said:
No I think it would be fun but hard to balance.
Disagree since everyone plays equally
And regarding maths, when DBD was born we got x perk slots for x perks but now same x slots for x7 perks, it's a matter of exact science of maths equivalency to increase the number of perks
Any mathematician here to confirm that? No need
-
@Eveline said:
Imagine unlimited perk slots and everyone running everything and exaustion perks are separate.
I imagine a gameplay with more minigames (aka perks) making my game experience more complete
Currently I have Deliverance, DS, DH and Bond
But DAMN I would enjoy more also with SC, sabotage, unbreakable and borrowed time
More perks = more fun
So I am the freak?

@DwikeyMain84 said:
i would say max 5 perk slots anything more than that and you are looking at way to op perk builds 5 is already pushing it for survivors. I think it would be neat if each killer had 4 perk slots they could use any perk in hex or otherwise and one bonus perk slot that can only be used for a hex perk only....just a thought
You still dont get it
Do you still want 4 perk slots if you have 5000 to choose? If so, why? My brain is so limited

Killers could do with a fifth, but that's it.

to show it more grapically, choose only 4:
-
When killer is carrying a survivor he can one hit others in the way.
So u really had to become rank 1 to realize that? But hitting makes u lose few secs so the surv carried can wiggle out
Why do u start so many threads with irrelevant thoughts?
-
Usually as killer i end up having to go an extra 5-10 minutes because of the hatch player who needs his extra bloodpoints.
I play often to do x2 gennies + hatch escape, cuz trolling the killer n unhooking is more exciting + faster than working (on gennies)

I dont think we should focus on race the new survivor will be just because we have almost every race represented already in the game. except for maybe latino.
Ace is Argentinian (Latino)
We do not have: arabic, persian, indian, red-head, nordic, very-black african, south east asians (like asians but with darker skin), russians-caucasic.... many more

I would like something less expected:
- wheelchair obese lady
- alien
- gender-less
- a midget

Either Indian or Latina character would make me happy! I'd also want a female survivor that's a bit more aged too, kind of like Ace but more stoic!
Also, do you think we'll have a survivor from within the current time or do you think they'll have been plucked from the past?
For sure current time, we don't have survs from past besides the new killer thingy

That's right! BHVR has chosen YOU to buff exactly 1 thing in the current game. What do you buff and why?
Now you can push the killer (rubgy tackle) while transporting a surv stunning the killer and dropping the surv
Perk altered: Dead Hard (causes the same exhaustion)
Condition: must be healthy status and running, then press Action key

This might sound harsh but escaping in that situation shouild be really hard because dbd cannot be balanced for such a situation.
My Opinion might not be valid, but take it slow, rushing things will create scratchmarks and there are no other headless chickens around to get the killers attention off you once he finds you. Even "sick looping skillz" will not help if there are no other survivors to do gens.
Not getting found will be your first priority, even if that means letting go of gens after X seconds of progress , he might start camping a 40% generagtor at the other side of the map so you can focus on others.
The slow and immersed playstyle is not popular but i guess it can help you sometimes.
But what do i know, im a killer, gimme kills π
Sounds like too much long painful match for nothing lol
Should be fine a special reward

If you're left alone and not even two gens were done you might as well just offer yourself on a hook because you and your team got demolished. If you happen to be so unfortunate that only you spawned into the trial then you'll just have to rely on the killer showing a little mercy.
sorry I mean a 1v1 from the start as yesterday's match I had (the thread about befriend a killer was removed? so cant show the pic)

If you want a perk to help out, use Alert (Feng Min teachable). Since the killer damaging gens is going to make it difficult to repair them solo (if they are doing it) with that perk you can get a good advantage on them if they don't know where you are. If you already know where the hatch is when Alert goes off then you'll know if you can take the chance and go for it. It works any distance, no cooldown, so it's super good. And even if you aren't in a 1v1 situation it's still useful and it works on pallets too
yup I also think using items like key or map with addons will help
still wanna see video proof >.<
