Why would I lie? I’ve been playing since 2018, and I know the game. Maybe you aren’t as good as you think?

Because you’re trying to push an agenda? You’re a biased killer main, from what I’ve seen of your posts. And that dying 4 times in 8 hours of solo queue survivor sounds unbelievable as hell. I reckon that’s why when people asked for video evidence you wrote paragraphs instead of sharing video evidence.

What stats ? Do you even know how to read them ?

Don't you think the stats are inflated by tunneling right at the start ? Jeez ppl here...

Stats from last fall. Yes. And who cares, tunneling is a valid strategy. But there is no way to know if the kill rate is high b/c of tunneling.

COH can still be useful for SoloQ. Shame people can't see that.

Idk there are much better perk combo‘s/healing options out there. Like I get the rose-colored perspective but no CoH is not good for solo queue. SWF? Yes.

  • It’s almost as if most survivors aren’t the Seal Team 6 squad every killer on this forum decries them to be. It’s almost like most survivors are super average gamers who literally do linear-thinking plays.

    That's how it is.

Low MMR, killers have the advantage.

    Average MMR, it's quite balanced.

    High MMR, survivors are OP.

Just finished a survivor session, soloQ, 7 games. In those 7 games, i was matched with really good players 6 times.

5 escapes out of 7. 1 loss cause one survivor made a mistake and i have made one also, 0 escape. 1 loss cause the survivors i was matched with were extremely bad, 0 escape.

All other games were 3 to 4 escapes, 5 win out of 7 is a 71% personal escape rate and it is like this in pretty much all my sessions, between 60% to 70% escape rate.

Yesterday evening i have done 6 games and escaped 4 times.

So this is flat out wrong. Peanits released stats and statements telling us that killers excel at all MMR ranks, but are especially strong low to mid.

If you're a solo survivor, the sad reality is that the game is over the moment any of your teammates believe it to be over.

You can absolutely win a 2v1, but only if no one goes down. You and the last remaining survivor need to be flawless in chase, and you need to keep chase away from the gen being worked. In a 2v1, neither of you can afford to heal. Every second matters, and it needs to be spent working on gens, because the resources left on the map are effectively a sand timer--when they run out, the game ends.

Just yesterday I played a game that was 3v1 with 4 gens left. I took up chase with Legion, and the Kate decided to spectate my chase instead of work on gens. The Thalita completed 3 full gens by the time I went down, and I only went down because the Kate body blocked me on accident.

I was livid. Not only did I loop the Legion long enough for all 4 gens to be complete, but the survivor who didn't do anything for what... 6-7 minutes, was also the direct cause of my death.

That was only my first hook, but the damage had been done. The Legion 4k'd and my efforts were met with a smug Legion repeatedly M1ing me on hook.

I really wish this community wasn't plagued with a defeatist attitude. I typically blame hatch for my end game woes, but this recent update has shown me that my teammates will give up simply because they lack the desire to overcome adversity.

"Clutch or Kick" is a popular phrase that is thrown around in competitive online games. It's a jovial challenge for a teammate to rise above their current predicament, and help win the game for the team. While mostly an empty threat, the sentiment is an admirable one. In DBD, the popular phrase is "gg, go next." It's really sad.

Did you cuss Kate? And praise that Thalita? Because my god she Gen jockied the hell out of that game. She was determined to escape.

Not when good survivors cannot loose against good killers that do not play tier S killers...

For what i see on Twitch, killer mains are tunneling right at the start in almost every trials.

In my games, as a survivor, i escape 60/65% of the time in soloQ... and killers get like 3-5 hooks when exit doors are opened.

And for now, even after maybe 70% loss on Wesker, i'm still facing good survivors and mostly duoQ+

Idk about that. Good survivors lose to good killers often, and sub-par survivors lose to good killers even more frequently—which is why the kill rate is 60-63% & every killer has a kill rate above 50%, meaning no killer averages less than a 2K per match. Even the killers who ‘struggle’. You just seemed to crutch on Gen regression when you should have adapted to a chase-oriented meta, especially as Wesker who is anti-loop & excels in chase.

  • @IWasLrft2Die said:

Making killer less stressful and more approachable for newcomers would go a long way.

This is even more true for survivors. Killers have a low skill floor, survivors have a high skill ceiling.

I have never camped/tunneled before, unless during the end phase.

The problems against survivors is that good survivors know everything about the game and can extend chases far too long against most killers.

Just the checkspots knowledge kick out 80% of the roster from the viable killer list.

Good players should be good tho.

  • Idk it’s on par with every survivor boon, soo…

  • Looks like your entire build is centered around Gen defense instead of chase & perks that capitalize on the healing nerf. Maybe that was the problem. Tbh, if you’d hooked one survivor and proxy camped till they reached 2nd hook, you could have pretty easily snowballed that match.

  • @Seraphor said:

    1. This game has a terrible problem with power creep. Each side has been getting more effective, more efficient tools with which to complete their objectives or hinder their opponents, and it makes the 'meta' even more oppressive against the non-meta. (for example, Circle of Healing wasn't always in the game, and before it was, Inner Healing was a good healing perk) That's why balance changes have to be nerfs at this point.
    2. Both killer and survivor have seen their most meta, most used perks nerfed. Survivors had Circle of Healing and Dead Hard, Killers had Call of Brine, Overcharge and Pain Res. None of these are unique options, survivors have other healing and exhaustion perks, killers have other regression perks, only the most oppressive were nerfed and there are plenty of entirely valid options remaining. Do not be a slave to the meta.
    3. Regression and Healing are complimentary powers, each undoing your opponents progress in their primary objective. By nerfing both in the same patch, you maintain a sense of balance and it shouldn't result in an unwarranted corrective response from either side. What you lose in regression capability is made up by survivors losing the same in healing capability. Sadly, players don't understand this, and both sides are furious that 'they' have been nerfed, completely ignoring the fact that their opponents have also been equally reigned in. Worse, they appear to see equal nerfs to their opponents as an additional threat to them, which is completely irrational.
      1. Killers are terrified that a nerf to healing means survivors will genrush, which should require greater regression capability.
      2. Survivors are terrified that a nerf to regression means killers will tunnel, which should require greater healing capability.
      3. Both are 'protesting' these changes by doing exactly this, instead of just adapting to the changes and playing normally.
      4. The irony of this fallacy flies over their heads, and the reliance on these meta techniques only feeds further into power creep and imbalance.

I would expect that if survivors cannot heal (forget trying to reset to save against a camper), they’re going to prioritize gens / gates. There’s really no logical reason to do otherwise. And I would expect that killers who cannot efficiently manage gens will focus more on securing kills via tunneling and camping because that too makes sense. There are perk alternatives for both sides but none of them are sufficient, really. Killer is in a slightly better position than survivors because of patch 6.1 but both sides are desperate.

  • I think SWF is pretty much the only thing keeping survivor viable. I know you think removing it will make killer games easier for you, but I guarantee that won’t be the case. Lol.

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

You mean killers will always complain about exhaustion perks. Just whatever causes them the most frustration in a game rather than if it's actually unbalanced or not.

Survs need something that helps in chase. And exhaustion perks are always going to be used. Wouldn't be much of a game otherwise.

If all exhaustion perks get nerfed into oblivion then killers would complain about genrush and stealth builds.

Before exhaustion perks were really a mandatory thing killers did complain about stealth. As the game moved more toward chase & away from stealth and survivors began losing perks that helped with stealth via nerf & rebalancing, they of course had to adapt by using perks that helped in chase. But then killers began complaining about chase (as they do now). I think killer mains here don’t really want survivors to have any perks that make the game challenging for them.

I do and i like the mechanics you can use against it.

It needs teamplay and communication though.

1.) Survivors don’t have to play as a team, one of the taglines for this game is play selfishly or as a team. So you are of course completely wrong.

2.) The healing nerfs are meant to balance with the Gen regression perk nerfs. It would be too oppressive to nerf survivor healing abilities, leave Gen regression where it is, and nerf Gen progression perks. The kill rate is like 63% mind you which means most killers are securing around a 2.5-3K. 1-2 (with 2 more likely) survivors are escaping on average.

I’m still waiting for a timeline to this. When does it get to be the killer side’s turn for improvements?

BHVR was planning on giving killers a chase oriented meta, then backpedaled before the end of the PTB with survivor un-nerfs. At what point do killers get actual changes that improve their player experiences? At what point will any possible improvements even be announced?

Killers received improvements in patch 6.1, when the kill rate jumped by like 8-10% (from 53% to 60-63%). Then survivors received the HUD update, and then this new patch nerfs both.

no u don't have to walk everywhere. U can 99 it and have full control. Sit on a gen and if the killer pull up use it. Lithe require u to take a bad route sometimes just to proc it. SB allow u to be safe in A DEAD ZONE. The best thing about SB is the versatility.

●You can 99 it! bait a swing and SB off which could be the equivalent of hitting a dh

●You can Traverse the map quick with it and sit on a gen to get it back.

●You can make builds around it with fixated and vigil. Which make dropping chase a bad idea for the killer given how fast u can get it back & get right back on the gen.

●You can fool killers into thinking u got lithe or balance at the beginning of the game. SB after dropping from a hill or before vaulting a window (this can sometimes fool even good killers)

TBF most players probably cannot 99 a sprintburst. And even then you can’t really do anything productive while it’s 99’d

  • Yeah, DBD is the only living game where this sort of thing happens. I think Evolve may have been the only other game where this sorta thing happened and that game is extinct. Lol

  • Idk smart, efficient SWFs are just gonna run We’ll Make It and/or Botany Knowledge versus CoH. But I guess you’ve been so traumatized you can’t even realize that CoH is like an inferior perk to those two. Lol. Boons as a whole suck. You’re just beating a dead horse.

  • The games feel much faster now. Because healing was nerfed survivors are not risking chase/injury and focusing on completing gens (as they should). But hey, we wanted healing nerfed & obviously it would be too oppressive to nerf healing and lengthen Gen speeds in some way. The kill rate is already at 63% so doing both would likely elevate it to a level that causes severe backlash (70% or more, if survivors can’t heal & take ages to finish generators).

  • Boons are too weak, and it would only buff Pentimento—which is already a solid (A-tier) perk. So no. SH should not become basekit.

You don't have to be the "best in the world" to be doing this kind of stuff though. Nothing they did in the video was particularly special. Its simply, just doing gens and being efficient with time. There wasn't any super crazy play, or dodge that suddenly made everyone go "OOOOOOH MAN!!! THAT WAS CRAZY" or anything like that. And if you disagree, timestamp me a video in comp play where a top tier survivor team did some crazy thing that your typical player wouldn't be able to also do.

You also aren’t facing Team Eternal or survivors of that echelon. Lol.

Out of curiosity, do you think that survivors don't have to think about any of that as well? I'd argue survivors need to know maps/rng, their perks, their teammates perks, killers powers, killers perks, killers addons and specific playstyles per killer (for instance, playing against condemn sadako is pretty different than a normal sadako, likewise a basekit blight has pretty different counterplay than double speed, or alch ring/c33 blight, etc), as well as think of gen strategies so you don't 3 gen and when the best time to heal or rescue, for instance. Doubly so in solo-q. This game gets complicated and overwhelming with factors that affect every little thing, especially for new players.

He won’t answer your question but yes of course survivors need to know all of that. He’s a biased killer main and will only express platitudes that support his myopic view of this game.

    Killer: 50 hours

Survivor: 100 hours (of Solo play... IMO SWF's don't count)

Dang. I know you’re a biased killer main or w/e but I was kinda hoping you’d answer the question he asked, not spin off into something completely unrelated b/c you can’t defend your point, I guess.

I mean it's kept the game going for almost 7 years. The base mechanic is fine, bhvr just shouldn't be letting people soft DC with no consequence.

So have kobes tho. 🤷‍♀️ and it isn’t a soft DC anymore than just running at the killer, going AFK, or getting slugged. In all three scenarios someone isn’t playing the game or contributing to the success of other survivors. I don’t know of any other game (assym or not) where players are at any point ‘forced‘ to play besides this one. Maybe when you queue up as killer don’t do stuff that leads players to want to give up on hook? Idk. Some problems need fixing from the inside.

  • This sounds really unrealistic.

Visual TR is not a significant buff though.. it really only works when you are able to hear the heartbeat.,,

I don’t get why that player or others say that. You literally only see the TR when you’d hear it. And its size correlates to the density of sound anyway. It’s just moving pictures of what you’re hearing. And the audio TR changes as a killer gets closer too.

Tunneling always increases - That's not true, if DS stunned for 15s with unlimited uses, (only the timer/conspicuous limiting it) I'm sure it would drop immensely. It would clearly be an insane undeserving buff, but it would make tunneling drop. (I still think all the double nerfs of 6.1.0 need to be cut back to single nerfs, such as Pop being max % still, and DS being 5s still.)

The second part is sadly true though. After the basekit Killer buffs of 6.1.0, I was hoping soloq would ease up on the tunneling. Instead I had the opposite experience, as Killers were all too happy to abuse hitting off hook to deny Endurance, and taking advantage of DS being nerfed into near uselessness.

I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone believed killers would tunnel less when the one tool survivors really had to fight tunneling was taken from them, and killers were buffed across the board. I guess the confusion comes into play b/c ppl believed these killer mains when they said “we won’t tunnel we promise just buff us!” And then like they had a hand behind their back with their fingers crossed. Lol

  • @ehe said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3399599#Comment_3399599

I mean, with nothing to replace it it'll be worse. Killers need slowdown to complete their objectives, after all the kill rate is ~55% with presumably meta perks. Without any slowdown killers will probably need to tunnel someone out ASAP, leading to even more unfun games for everyone.

if they were gonna do this they should've just made CoB basekit and killed all regression, so perk variety could exist

The aggregate kill rate is 63%. No killer has an individual kill rate below 53% (lowest, and IIRC that’s Nurse). Pinhead IIRC has the highest kill rate, at like 58% or something.

  • So are the killer mains lamenting survivors not “giving” Myers this achievement giving survivors Left Behind? It’s the one where you need to be the last survivor, finish all remaining gens (meaning killer cannot close hatch), open the gates, then escape through the gates.

  • I guess my question is if you play both sides why are you quitting because your killer games are difficult now? 🤔

  • @not_Queef said:

Because it's not completely busted any more and so survivors think it's a bad perk now.

I wish they would remove the intermittent aura reading tbh. I like using it as a more active counter to aura reading than Distortion, but then I play against a good Nurse and suddenly having your aura revealed to the killer for free all the time doesn't sound so hot.

People don’t think it’s bad because it isn’t busted; they think it’s bad because it’s bad. 🤷‍♀️ It’s outclassed by better, less risky perks anyway.

  • @Rudjohns said:

Wow, its almost like this is the only solution to actually balance the game (if all changes from PTB go live)

A 50% increase to heal times is nothing to scoff at

Plague can down survivors with her Corrupt Purge but ironically healing in her fountains is more efficient than the entire survivor healing mechanic now. Lol.

    • Having your whole team injured while someone is on the hook is a YOU problem. You messed up. That literally shouldn't even be possible unless you are gen rushing and ignoring healing. The point of this update is to make it so that killers don't have to run gen regression perks (which tbh there aren't any good ones left at this point) and instead have basekit gen defense by spreading pressure. Camping and tunneling are only ever effective if the survivors make it effective. Keep yourself healed instead of gen rushing, and then the camping won't be a good strategy.
    • The point isn't to "not run meta perks" they even said it in the changes, the point is to "shake up" the meta. The reality is, no matter what is done, a new meta will always develop. That's just how games work.
    • Boons being permanent fixtures makes them hard to buff. They have the opposite problem of hex perks. Maybe that'll get changed

1.) How is it a ‘you’ problem if the whole team is injured especially since some killers excel in that? Is it still a ‘you’ problem if the killer has intelligently stacked healing slowdown perks? And how exactly can survivors stop camping & tunneling?

    2.) Ok.

3.) Idk I think books are a failed concept. They exist because killer mains wanted survivors to have a second objective but BHVR had to make it something survivors would choose over completing gens. Now they’re not going to use boons at all because they’re all pretty mediocre/bad and outclassed by more versatile perks. Hex perks are still better.

  • Carmina is a pretty strong killer but I think her powers come with a learning curve that people don’t really want to deal with. Additionally, her skins aren’t super intriguing. I know some people find her noises (the bird sounds) off-putting as well,

  • I’ve hit people on hook before (once) and I did it because I wanted to assert dominance like yeah this is the only game where one person/player can literally prevent another player from participating in the game & I’m going to exploit that. I was being an @$$ because BHVR allows it. 🤷‍♀️ I don’t behave that way without provocation but that was the mentality I had when I did it. It was purely schadenfreude and I’m pretty sure it’s at least 70% of the reason why any killer does it. You’re getting a lot of dishonest or misdirecting answers here because the killer mains of this forum want to maintain this weird, deceptive air that they’re persecuted & good people & overly stressed and all that stuff. But I’m not afraid of being honest.

  • That’s fair. I wonder if some players will deliberately not let them go. I’ve seen survivors chasing killers who refuse to down them.

  • They are about to become a lot stronger.

  • So what will y’all do if after you hook them they tried to speed up the hook timer then jump off and become idle again? And like you see them clearly trying to throw the game.

Are you asking for a chat box for all of the platforms? Like PC has? If so I believe they said they have no plans to add it.

Are you asking for voice chat? Xbox already has that built in, and the app can also be used to connect people. As far as I know PlayStation cannot use either one, nor can Switch or mobile.

PS has discord now if that’s the app you’re talking about.

  • Windows (or map awareness) + Overcome or Windows (or map awareness) + Sprintburst accomplishes a similar effect, it just shifts extending the chase to the start versus end. And tbh survivors technically control the chase anyway. Spirit’s phasing is not super difficult to predict either, her playstyle is typically very linear. She’ll try to surprise you or cut you off from a pallet, etc. and you can stalk & call out her movements with SWF too which is super helpful. OP is right survivors should be slamming gens. They need to bring everything they’ve got to pop gens because there’s no way healing is going to be efficient. I expect nearly every killer to run healing slowdown. This is the counterplay to that: You use a scapegoat (looper) and punish the killer by genrushing. Maybe you can save them at the end, maybe not. But if you play your cards right a 3-man is very likely.

Deleting perks to uselessness instead of trying to keep them at least somewhat useful is a bad way to go about things. And even on heavy progressed gens, Pop is still just “meh”. CoB and OC should be 150 so they won’t just be useless trash.

Well BHVR can’t nerf healing as they have but leave these lethal regression perks as-is. It would be way too overwhelming for most survivors. I expect the kill rate to raise following mid-chapter update but if regression perks like CoB and PR are not altered then these rates will soar.

"Survivors are getting more buffs with information" except all it does it change the Terror Radius to be visual based, BHVR themselves even said that it functions entirely based on the Terror Radius and provides no competitive advantage.

All this does it help people with hearing impairments (such as myself) and makes it so I finally free up a perk slot and remove Spine Chill. Ive seen people say "this is a buff for Survivors since it frees up a perk slot" when in reality we've been forced to use Spine Chill for years because the game didnt have accessibility options, it's not like we had a choice in running the perk, we were basically forced to.

And tbh Spine Chill is pretty rare (at least in my games). I hardly ever see survivors run it in either role.

If you don't heal she is going to be procing jolt left and right while you have to get off gens to save. One person will be on a gen while she keeps hitting gens with jolt. She loves when survivors stay injured because it buffs her chase. Slamming gens injured is not the winning strategy. If survivor bring full gen builds with BNP then you get ring+ amulet being brought often. And at that point she literally is everywhere.

You can still genrush against Spirit tho? And survivors can still counter jolt.

  • I feel like when the mid-chapter update drops this scenario will become more common.
