The servers don't prioritize killers, not as often as you'd think.
Plenty of times I've had M1's robbed by autoaim, hitting a window as the survivor is less than halfway vaulting it, and hearing a hit at a pallet, getting stunned, yet the survivor took no damage. It does go both ways, and that's a symptom of online games.it definitely does. The devs have confirmed this several times. Hit validation prioritizes what the killer sees. IIRC grabs (from gens and used to be hooks) are prioritized based on what the survivor sees.

I don't think that is the case, to be honest. Stealth and the hide and seek playstyle are still extremely important aspects of DBD and so is the lack of information. A survivor shouldn't be aware of the killer's precise location most of the time, and if they are then there should be a risk (like OoO).
A group of four new players using comms isn't going to automatically make them the SWF death squad from hell. Experience and coordination are what makes voice chat strong, rather than voice chat itself.
I second this.
How can stealth still be important? There’s a killer aura perk for every single thing a survivor does (or doesn’t do). They’re releasing one now that shows a survivor’s aura for 10 seconds if they’re near a dropped pallet. Wallhacks are antithetical to hide and seek—at least for the hiders.

Even there, the escape rate doesn't reach 50%, so it's not even killer-sided, statistically.
Did you mean the game isn’t survivor-sided at high MMR?

Yeah, generous to survivors. No one would ever have to be picked up from being downed if they could do it automatically after 60 seconds, they could just stick to generators and ignore it.
Basekit Unbreakable is a bad idea and always will be a bad idea.
I have admittedly used strategic slugging but never, not once, come close to leaving a survivor slugged for 60 seconds. What on earth would any killer be doing to need a survivor slugged for that long?

And thats a biggest question why? How this weak killer has huge killrate and became solo crusher. Hes passive slowdown one of the most easiest to avoid (if he doesnt have iri box addon) and his m2 anti loop much weaker version of Doctor.
When I play Pinhead I have noticed the Chain Hunt gets a lot of players. It’s easy to snowball from that. If you add more Gen regression then it makes it worse.

"People will stop playing because thing I dislike will become more prevalent" is a massive negative to removing Memento Moris as they are now. If you believe this, and you're right that it will increase it, then you should be massively against this change. Hell, you should be rallying against it.
"But people already do it" is NOT a good reason to remove it for the people who don't and never did. And that's what I don't think you see when you make statements here on the forums that support you being all too happy to nerf Killers' fun for the sake of maybe not getting the one in ten chance you could be slugged by a toxic one. If this change was a massive Survivor nerf, you'd riot.
Riot now, before BHVR does a massive Survivor change equivalent to this, or nobody will come to your aid.
I don’t really think this is going to increase the prevalence of slugging for a 4K in a way that matters. Slugging for a 4K already happens and currently reduces the match quality for those survivors affected. This finisher mori is quite unlikely to make it worse.

My argument is that slugging survivors isn’t the killer’s goal. It starts and ends there, really.

Killing survivors doesn’t incapacitate them because they’re no longer in the game.
Incapacitate means to block or inhibit… Not eliminate or remove.

Shouldn't killers get punished for leaving one of the players in an uninteractive state for literally over a minute?
No. Their entire goal is to incapacitate you. Your goal is to avoid that. That's what the game is.
The killer’s goal is to eliminate survivors (as in kill them and at this point they can enter another match), not incapacitate them…

I want to have fun. Moris as they are right now are fun, Moris in the PTB are not, they're unsatisfying.
Nobody wants this version of a Mori. It promotes slugging for the 4k. It buffs slugging and nerfs a fun aspect of the game most people on both sides enjoy and love. It removes tactics from the game. Please please please just make Cypress basekit, retire it, and then add BPs to green and Iri Moris alongside letting them mori multiple people per round. Don't make all Moris ONLY give BP, let us Mori as many people as we want. It would be a massive crying shame to waste all the effort the devs have worked on for the Mori animations this way, turning Moris into yet another sweat mechanic.
I will keep saying this same exact thing until BHVR reverts all Mori changes except basekit Cypress. Let us Mori multiples in peace.
Killers already slug for 4K. If this new mori system increases the prevalence of that in a meaningful way, people will stop playing survivors IG and killer mains will just need to take up the slack.

So the nerf to the turn addons will really just effect his ability to traverse the map and avoid obstacles. He will still be able to curve around things at a slightly lesser rate due to the initial grace period where his turn rate is super sensitive.
Doesn't really make much sense. 80% of the fun with Billy is whizzing around and avoiding stuff to score long range snipes. Now you won't have that because of the add-on nerfs and reduced availability.
I thought the problem was overdrive but seems like they want to gut his fun factor also. Not impressed.
Has overdrive been changed at all?

Why would the developers nerf SWF? A 4-man only escapes 48% of the time—at best. They’re not even breaking even.

@Huge_Bush said:
I forget, do hatch escapes count as wins for MMR? If so, it’s probably easier to run Plunderers to increase the chance to find keys in chests and just escape after the Killer closes the hatch.
If they don’t, maybe a build to open the gate faster? Hide in a locker near a gate before the Killer hooks the third Survivor. Wait for them to patrol your gate. Open the gate a little before the first light comes on and then hide. Wait for them to patrol again and then open it all the way as soon as they leave.
Hatch escapes do not raise MMR. They are considered a null.

Would need to see a source here because that makes absolutely no sense. Let's say a killer is just….really bad at the game. They get a 25% kill rate EVERY match (ie a single kill). That absolutely does not mean the killer wins 1 out of 4 matches on average. With him getting only 1 kill every match (not talking on average, in my example, I mean literally 1 kill every match), then he would never win. Kill rates absolutely are not win rates.
Edit - just looked up his post. They said that "winning" is subjective - some people see pips as a win even if they didn't kill anyone, some see a 4k is minimum for a win, and so on. They also said they don't really define wins due to it being so subjective, and suggested just considering that kill rates are = to win rates just to make it easier to understand. The problem with this logic is that it's claiming that getting a single kill gets "win" credit when it comes to coming up with a win rate. In my example above, someone only ever getting 1K every match would have a 25% win rate - which is just silly to consider. I don't think any DBD player actually considers a 1K as a killer win, but if you go with kill rate = win rate, a 1K is a "win", and you can win up to 4 times in a single match. I don't think anyone would seriously accept this as a reliable balance method for numbers.
The source was linked by @Moonras2 a couple of comments below mine.

All the 6.1 perk nerfs were bad, and should have been thought over. DS/Pop/Self-Care/PR/Calm Spirit/Thana/and so on. Maybe you could single nerf many of them, but most of them got double nerfed needlessly. For example, Ruin should be 200%, removed on death, not 100% and not removed on death, they rebuffed the wrong portion of the perk.
Remember when they buffed Calm Spirit and Pharmacy and both perks became worse?

100%, I'm not the strongest looper but if your running the killer best believe I'm cranking that gen for you. But yeh ppl call others rats when there multiple ways of helping your team. If you are sat in a corner doing nothing then yeh that's boring and I don't get why someone would play like that but I barely and I mean BARELY see it. But what I do see is other survivor's causing problems for others when it's NOT warranted.
This is my belief as well. I would rather someone who isn’t a strong looper work on gens or focus on resets (rescues and healing) than enter a chase where they’re down in a few seconds. This is a bigger hit for the survivors than having distortion and not taking aggro but working on gens or performing other critical roles while a player who can handle a chase does that. One thing about 2v8 that I appreciate was it allowed different survivor styles to shine. For people who liked to play immersed they could spy on the killer, or work on gens. They didn’t have to worry about looping so much (there was a class for that too of course). This attitude should be in the main game as well.

Considering that some people use third-party tools or software to brighten their screens, giving them a visual advantage over those who don’t, it seems like the very definition of cheating to me. However, BHVR doesn’t classify this as cheating
I thought those filters were considered cheating. Anything that modifies game settings or performance outside of what comes directly from BHVR (so any third party apps).

Seems like bhvr is trying to change rat playstyle with the nerf to distortion and changes to genetic limits, rip iron will.
BHVR had a precursor game to this one called Death Garden, and I think many people do not know this as it had a much smaller community. But I believe that it was a sandbox for what became DBD. In a way I feel the changes BHVR now makes are steering the game in a direction that for them is more equitable (not balanced or equal, but fair). I do not believe they wish to make game unfun for survivors or killers, but I think it is tough to create a great experience for both roles at all times. I believe they do talk about issues like tunneling and camping and survivor-killer engagement. They make changes and walk them back, then make new changes, all to find a comfortable position. They were much worse with Death Garden, and it killed their game. I am confident they are trying to avoid that with this game.
I personally have 4-man SWF, we are good together. But I do not play solo queue for a SWF experience. I play SWF for a SWF experience. And when I play killer sometimes I face good SWF, sometimes bad, sometimes solo queue who are uncoordinated, sometimes solo queue that comes together and defeats me. And it is all OK with me. It should be with others as well. I do not care what perks another uses and I do not advocate for a perk to be ruined to punish people who play in a manner I don’t.
I feel players must stop hunting for a SWF experience in solo queue. If a player wants SWF experience, play SWF. Do not further demoralize solo queue players because they do not play as a SWF. SWF does not need Distortion, but it was a helpful perk for solo queue survivors. Same with other perks.
This madness must end.

Many of you claim survivors are giving up at 4v1 implying this is a common occurrence, but I only see it rarely in my games.
Everyone's experience is different. I talk about my own experiences and understand not everyone sees these things. There are some days where everyone plays as a team, and there are days where I have multiple matches with survivors who spend 15 minutes doing nothing so they can escape through the hatch for a total of about 8k BP.
it won’t bully or force those survivors to play for your survival either
I will continue to point out that I did not say anything like this. It's a team game that is balanced around 4v1. When one person does not participate at all, the game doesn't work. One person on gens, one person on hook, one person making the save, one person in chase. Four people. When one person doesn't do any of those things, the match falls apart. If BHVR wants DbD to be 1v1v1v1v1, they need to adjust their game appropriately, not simply leave solo queue to deal with the fallout of game design that didn't take into account just how "lone wolf" some players will be.
But based on your stance, you would call this player a ‘rat’ because she did not take aggro. This perspective I feel is warped. There will always be different ways of being strong.
Do not tell me what I would say. I have not called anyone a "rat" (I urge you to double check that, because it is true). I also do not criticize people based on their perks or what they bring. What I take issue with are certain playstyles that negatively impact the entire match. A stealthy team player is still a team player. It can absolutely be helpful if people take aggro, and there have been many instances where I wished a stealthy player would take aggro, but it is not required of them, nor would I say it is. It is appreciated when teammates take aggro and make risky plays that help others, and I have sacrificed myself to get those people through the exit gate because I know they didn't have to do it.
You have, multiple times, put words in my mouth and made claims about my perspective and beliefs which I did not state; I don't feel I implied those things, either.
I’m not going back and forth with you. What it comes down to is that the devs have both plainly stated and emphasized through core game mechanics that DBD is not a team game. It is a game that allows survivors to play as a team (insofar that it helps their own survival, like a medkit or a key or a specific perk. You know, a tool) or simply for themselves. And both playstyles are valid in this game whether you or any other player finds them agreeable or not.
Castigating people who don’t play the way you believe they should (and you did in fact do that. This isn’t me putting words in your mouth) is a bad approach. There is no ‘right way’ to play survivor in DBD beyond things expressly forbidden by rules. You can be altruistic or selfish. You can spend the entire match engaged with the killer or play immersed. You can make it as competitive or as lighthearted as you wish it to be, and it’s all ok. Policing how other people, especially survivors, choose to enjoy the game is beyond your scope.
Regardless of your opinion on how it is or should be balanced, survivors do not owe you a teamwork-based play style. If you would wish to have such cohesion in your matches, there is an option for it. That is BHVR allowing you to form the team you want. Attacking people who play solo queue in a manner you dislike—because it doesn’t demonstrate the ‘teamwork’ you personally believe this game demands—is not good. And that’s pretty much the end of our conversation for me.

You can't honestly say that kill rates are a useful stat, but then ignore one of them because it doesn't fit the narrative. Either stat is useful, or it isn't.
Right, and we are not ignoring any part of her kill rates. I believe kill rates to be useful. But I also believe kill rates aren’t just aren’t flat numbers. They are nuanced, as evidenced by Nurse’s kill rate contradicting with her lethality. No one would suggest this killer is weak in skilled hands

dbd's rules should be more lenient because its gameplay isn't as linear as other games sure, but regardless of intention not doing anything for tens of minutes is griefing in any game and also in dbd. the intention with it is also clear: player decided to not participate in normal gameplay any longer and will wait until their teammate(s) die or they want to take the killer hostage both of which are malicious.
2.) I can’t think up another PvP game that requires another player’s action to enable you to play the game. Like you get hooked, you no longer get to play unless another player decides that you do.
i couldn't really catch the correlation so idk what to reply this with. not unhooking someone on purpose? it can be in the grey area for sure, there can be legitimate reasons you can't or don't want to save a person from a hook unless you go at the hook and t bag the survivor.
Right, not unhooking. Whether it’s out of self preservation (a camping Bubba or Hillbilly or something similar) or just contempt (I dislike how that survivor on hook played so I won’t rescue them) is irrelevant. That person cannot play the game anymore. No other game has a mechanic like that; not even other assyms. Part of why I think BHVR allows survivors to expedite their own death is to avoid situations where they aren’t being saved, so they don’t have to wait in a game where they’re not able to play. Can you imagine trying to pitch that to customers? “The killer decides how much you get to play, and when they down and hook you, then it’s up to another survivor to decide if you get to continue. There’s a lot of downtime. You’re basically an NPC at the mercy of another player.” It wouldn’t be good.

Would it be possible to disable the Killer Instinct mechanic for this modifier? I think that would help make the experience feel a bit fairer for Survivors (but scrap the gen speed boost to compensate). Otherwise, I don't think there will be much appeal to the mode beyond playing as an info Killer or being in a SWF.
I know players have complained about Legion the most, but other Killers can be a problem too because they have an info component to their powers (albeit to a lesser extent). Wesker, Demo, Vecna, The Twins, Xeno. Even Dracula, although he can only track blood in Wolf mode and it's maybe not as strong an effect.
Of course, Legion would be incredibly weak in this mode if they did so, but it might be preferable to giving them the Freddy treatment. Maybe some Killers could even get new powers for the modifier, like giving Legion the ability to down an injured Survivor with their power. That said, it could be a lot of work to implement all these changes and I'm still not sure there would be a game mode worth playing in the end.
Oni, Doctor, and Spirit as well are problematic for similar reasons in this mode.
I think not every killer can work for every mode and that has to be OK. Several killers shouldn’t appear in this mode as they circumvent the restrictions and spirit of the modifier.

Kill rates also show that nurse is one of the worst killers in the game and needs buffs to bring her more in line with some of the more overpowered killers like…checks notes…
freddy and myers
I don’t believe her kill rates reflect that. I believe she is a killer that has a high skill floor but is known for being the strongest in the game, so inexperienced players who may have heard she is the strongest or see that her power is teleportation pick her believing they can cheese their way to victory with something broken or OP. Then, they see how technically demanding learning her power is so they lose a fair amount until they’re better. This may lower her kill rates. Additionally, matches with DCs do not count in kill rates but they are still matches she has been in. Disregarding them lowers her kill rate as it reduces the sample of overall matches she has which would make her kill rate appear lower than it truly is.

People do this at 4v1.
And I outright said the devs need to fix their game. They designed a team game that needs 4 survivors working decently well together for it to be a fun experience. One survivor choosing not to ruins it for the other three. That BHVR said "play as a lone wolf" in their game description doesn't mean it's healthy for the game, it means BHVR designed it wrong if they want lone wolfing to be an option that doesn't make the majority of solo queue miserable.
Your ire isn’t with the other consumers/survivors who don’t owe you a damn thing.
I never said they owned me anything. I said that someone throwing the match from the beginning ruins it for at least three other players. It's not healthy for the game. I've never played any other game where doing literally nothing was considered a fun or viable or even acceptable playstyle. BHVR needs to decide if they want a 4v1 game or a 1v1v1v1v1 game and design it accordingly, because the state it's in right now doesn't function.
I don't berate players for how they play. You're making it sound like I throw dishes at the players' heads and demand they play the way I want, but that's not the case. I come on the forums and say BHVR needs to fix this problem. BHVR has made a change to Distortion. Hopefully it's a step in the right direction and they take more steps in the future.
Many of you claim survivors are giving up at 4v1 implying this is a common occurrence, but I only see it rarely in my games. It could be my ranking but even against extremely oppressive killers like the Skull Merchant, Nurse, or Blight, I see survivors wait to be saved from the hook no matter when they go down. Sometimes (usually) they last only in chase for a very short time (less than 15 seconds). Yet still they wait. Even as the game tilts so far into the killers favor at 3v1, or 2v1, I still see these people trying (and I think you all don’t talk about this enough). So I personally cannot speak to what you seem to be experiencing as it is not what I see in my solo queue games.
But what I can say is that if survivors lose their will to fight at the start of a trial, the problem isn’t a single perk. Attacking other survivor’s for how they like to play (immersed or with their own survival in mind—which is valid) won’t make this game better for you, and it won’t bully or force those survivors to play for your survival either. These are my thoughts.
I saw someone run Sole Survivor, Distortion, Wake Up, and Iron Will and she brought a key for hatch I saw in the end but she was still contributing in the match. She was near constantly on a gen, saved a few times, and healed. Maybe she wasn’t a good looper but she found another way to impact the match and that is OK. But based on your stance, you would call this player a ‘rat’ because she did not take aggro. This perspective I feel is warped. There will always be different ways of being strong.

You are so naive. Now aura perks will become meta and soon a problem. Then they will get gutted.
Besides that most distortion players aren‘t Rats, but they don‘t want to chase all the time which gets more and more impossible due to bad map changes. Also how dare they not wanting to play like you want them to play. All of that comes from someone who doesn‘t play distortion, because it’s a useless perk, but I understand why people play it.
DBD players are so punitive. I’ve never seen anything like it in any other gaming community. DBD players think “if I’m not having fun, no one should be.” And galvanize behind radical changes to make each other miserable. It’s bizarre to me. Most of the complaints about Distortion appears to come from the survivor side, which is even more bewildering. I believe if a person wants that much control over their matches as survivor, they should join or form a SWF. That eliminates most of the variability they’ll have in their matches and nothing has to happen to people who enjoy playing in a different way.

They already use lockers.
They use lockers and Distortion, Iron Will, UE, and Left Behind. Distortion getting nerfed means one less tool in their arsenal. It doesn't solve the problem, BHVR needs to make deeper changes to get people to actively participate in the game instead of throwing the entire match for a chance at a hatch escape, but just because it doesn't completely solve the problem doesn't mean it shouldn't be done at all.
I mean, what are solo queue players supposed to do when we get these teammates. Go "next" every time? It's against the rules to try to take the killer over to them. I can't force them to play; I've tried, I've tried getting them out from behind that rock or out of a locker and showing them a gen, they will not follow, and they'll keep doing what they're doing even if you follow them around. You can't change a player's BHVR by saying "Please stop it." So what is solo queue supposed to do other than complain to BHVR to fix their game?
It’s the crabs in a barrel mentality. Your ire isn’t with the other consumers/survivors who don’t owe you a damn thing. It’s with the company/game designer that should make the game viable for all players and even at 3v1 or less.

Kill rates are meaningless.
Completely disagree. Huntress is easy to pick up and use efficiently. She’s newb friendly to anyone who has ever played a shooting game.

I only played 2 games so far, both as a survivor, but it looks like there is little to no point in using the candelabras, which are basically the only thing that would help the killer in any way. So what's left are a bunch of survivor buffs, that aren't necessarily bad but they feel kind of unfair when you consider that killers got nothing in return.
Both matches I played, the survivors won oretty easily. I managed to get myself killed in the second game because the Myers caught me at the exit gate but the others got away without issue.
The killer can see gens. If you just follow the homing beacon gens you’re going to find survivors. The only way survivors escape is by completing gens. The killers I’ve seen have managed extremely well in Lights Out. You can still tunnel camp so the little buffs survivors receive are kind of inconsequential.

Huntress has one of the highest kill rates in the game (top five) and is consistently one of the top three most played killers. She’s relatively straight forward and the only counter play survivors have is tall walls. Given her insane hatchet hitboxes, that’s not even a guaranteed counter. She can catch you with a clip.

Here's a big list of them:
- Don't heal
- Don't be injured
- Don't be near a killer carrying a survivor
- Don't be far from a survivor when they get hooked
- Don't complete a generator and don't let all generators get completed
- Don't stand in the exit gates
- Don't be near a locker
- Don't be downed
- Don't repair a gen while a survivor enters the dying state
- Don't let a non-obsession get hooked
- Don't be the obsession
- Don't let another survivor get injured
- Don't cleanse a hex totem
- Don't be near a dull totem
- Don't blind the killer
- Don't stun the killer
- Don't become the obsession
- Don't be near a killer that recently kicked a gen
- Don't be near a scourge hook while the killer is carrying
- Don't be near a killer destroying a wall or pallet
- Don't go in the basement
The latest is “Don’t drop a pallet in chase.”

Might be wrong but it never says you HAVE to be the obsession to reveal the killers aura. Only when you are the obsession it starts that 30 second timer while the first effect is something else entirely.
Can confirm it only works if you’re the Obsession. If you aren’t, and it doesn’t guarantee that you are, it does not work for you (killer can still see your aura but you cannot see theirs).

If dredge is overperforming then why did they buff him recently? This was before his buffs.
And are you honestly going to tell me. REALLY THINK ABOUT IT, do you truly believe that dredge, MYERS and PIG, are better killers than nurse?
Better is relative. Those killers are more accessible to the average killer main than Nurse. She’s quite strong but does require a fair amount of skill to operate. Pig, Myers (two m1 killers), and to a lesser extent Druanee (Dredge, an anti-loop killer) do not.

Keep Victor? Naaah, remove Victor instantly, little Fengus, I know you are afraid bc of no TR.
Group up and healing? Naaah, let's just keep sitting on gens injured like we used too and let Victor to slug whole team one by one, because we are lazy to learn counterplay.
I know, I know, killers get nerfs because of survivors know nothing but how m1 on gen isn't something new, we all used to it.
Since 7.7.0 Twins were my most playable killer and if survivors understand how to deal with them, then they are M1 killer with no power 70% of the match and insane amount of counterplay, especially in team. And if some QoL changes with massive nerf to kicked Victor is something you consider a big buff, then you didn't know how to play against them to begin with, because strength wise they are right where they were before. I don't know since when slug is easier too, but if you say so.
I blame you, killer mains. Don't know what for, but Ayodam tells me so. How dare you play Twins, stinky killer mains.I like the Twins but I’m honest enough to admit they’re extremely lethal. They were nerfed because guess what? Survivors get to have fun too. Being slugged until everyone dies isn’t fun. It seems BHVR is tackling killers with high DC rates. Twins are one of them. Hillbilly is another, and he was also nerfed.

20 sec cooldown on crushed Victor without any buffs + 0,5 to crush him. Twins are dead lol. I'm done with learning killers in this game.
Why would they give the Twins a compensatory buff? They were just buffed and became extremely strong. They slug much easier than before and that’s led them to be (rightfully) nerfed again. Blame killer mains.

Love most of the perk changes. It's like… Some of these perks were so bad that any change feels good.
But Predator… Man…
I'm telling you - this perk will never be useful in this game. :D
link?

Something tells me that that game mode will have long queues.
It did before because survivors refused to play. I waited 23 minutes for one game (as killer).

But when there isn't clutter then stealth killers complain because survivors see them coming a mile away. Not sure how they can please everyone.
They could reduce all clutter (remove loops) and make stealth killers invisible until they’re about 10 meters away so survivors have a chance at like, trying to escape or whatever. Anyway this would help killers like Hunttress who suffer despite having one of the highest kill rates in the game and stealth killers who are mostly m1.
