Yeah yeah, Killer suppose to know your just a friendly Solo when he was probably being t-bagged, clickity-clicked at , and robbed of mind-games by ‘press E’ for victory. If Killer could press start and see whose in SWF and whose not, he may treat you different but without communication and information, your as “good” as your most toxic teammate to me.

That being said, here are a few of my tips.

    • Crawl to the nearest hook to make sure your not being left on the ground because Killer knows you are not near a hook, or he had to drop you earlier, or one or both doors are open, or he doesn’t know where hatch is and would rather slow bleed you to death (since YOU ain’t crawling). Crawling to hook let’s Killer know your an easy kill and are ready to die when he is ready to kill you, no tricks.
    • Staying absolutely still and collecting crows will disturb a Killer trying to gloat more then you wiggling on floor or spinning in circles. Says you don’t care, you went for a sandwich, took a bathroom break and started watching videos on YT.
    • Getting tunneled to death is a legit strat and pummeling you on hook is either the Killer disrespecting you for whatever reason he wants…or he might just be trying to start a hook swarm so the Kills will come to him. Also the possibility that he happened to see you joined later then the other 3 and might actually know your not part of the SWF, in which case he’s hoping your weak-willed enough to ######### early on hook if he BM you. That way he could more easily battle the SWF. Most odd ball solo survivors will destroy gens while the SWF enjoy running the Killer and making epic saves. If the gen jockey dies, then it’s only a matter of time till Killer dwindles down survivor resources and eventually wins.

Trying to get under each other’s skin and trigger each other to make mistakes is just part of the game now. An it goes both ways, sometimes I just gotta sit in a corner a let the bully squads pop the gens and gloat and taunt me. Not to mention every game where survivors hold me hostage until the final second of EGC. Either that or they need me to watch them leave and of course it’s a great feature from BHVR that survivors can blow out my ear drums by repeatedly fast vaulting over and over and over.

Game is interesting and fun, community sucks~.

I don't T bag or bring flash lights or try to get killers attention by doing weird things, I also don't use DH cuz I don't like it, so I don't think I was being annoying to the killer, if someone else was toxic to the killer, then go after them, why follow me? As for the one that they left me on the ground, I wasn't recently unhook, and I didn't have DS, I was downed very close to a hook, but the killer did not pick me up, they were just playing with their power right next to me. After I waited a few seconds, I even crawled right under the hook, but the killer just followed me to the hook then repeatedly using their power again and waited until the last second before I bled out. There were no exit gates powered since gens weren't even completed.

    Move onto the next game.

If they "tunnel" because i am dead on hook, injured or was cheeky... If they leave me on ground for just over a minute because of DS or because there are zero hooks nearby because i intentionally run them to this location... well i wont get upset as they are playing correctly... if i got upset, i would check myself in the nearest mental health hospital.

they tunneled just like a normal tunneler, ignored everyone else, just wanted me dead. I don't T bag or bring flash lights or try to get killers attention by doing weird things, so I don't think I was being cheeky. As for the one that they left me on the ground, I wasn't recently unhook, and I didn't have DS, I was downed very close to a hook, but the killer did not pick me up, they were just using their power right next to me. • play however you want, being empathetic or selfish is all up to you

  • Do you even solo survivor at red ranks? You have no idea what you are talking about if you think killers are so hard after those so called "nerfs" while acting like survivors never got any nerfs and everyone is on comms with a full stack of sweaty SWF

  • I got hit through walls and trees in Haddonfield

  • depends on my mood, I don't give you free escape just because you crouch in front of me, but I sometimes let babies go, cuz they are cute, but not always. Again, all depends on my mood.

  • It's not only in lower ranks mate, it's in red ranks too and not very rare. Tunneling you right off the hook though, that's quite often in red ranks.

  • I run self care, botany, desperate measure, resilient

And how that would prevent abusing that, and have the hooked still unfunny time and penelty when somebody deicide to crouch near him to prevent the slowing of the timer? Or we should add another factor that if a survivor is near a hooked one too much time he got kicked in the ass by police or something? When this will stops?

Devs said that is a valid tactic, and go do gens to counter it. Accept it, or play something else - seriously...

there's simply not enough time for one hook to repair everything by the time all 3 survivors checked and realized it's a camper. If a survivor realizes camping, they should just go do gens instead of crouching around the hook, and the penalty should give them enough time to repair and escape. As it's right now, the camper is guaranteed of 2k, and 4k most of the time cuz survivors don't have enough info to know it's a camper and need to gen rush. And, it's doesn't stop there, if you think there's flaws in the mechanic, why don't you come up with ideas to fix the flaws instead of bashing on it and willing for the problem to stay?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1363863#Comment_1363863

so this is broken tenfold. a survivor from the moment they get hooked has 2 minutes of being on the hook. in this two minutes if the killer decided to camp, or even worse face camp. Almost all five gens can be done. Lets assume these are the most average survivors to ever survive. they will never fail a skill check nor will they ever get a great skill check. All 3 survivors who are not on hook each get on a gen as soon as the 4th survivor is hooked. 80 seconds go by and 3 gens pop. one survivor goes off by himself to work on a gen and the other 2 meet up to work on a gen together. 40 seconds go by and the hooked survivor died, 7 more seconds go by and the 4th gen pops and only 33 seconds remain for the lone survivor to pop the 5th gen. thats a lot of power that the kiler is giving away by camping. The only thing survivors are doing when they try to unhook the camped survivor is wasting time and giving the killer control of the game. if you are on comms you just let the others know hes camping, work on gens. If your not on comms and you spend say 20 seconds trying to unhook the survivor or at least checking out the situation the best thing to do is abandon the survivor and pressure the killer by doing gens. the killer will most likley leave if he sees a bunch of gens pop off.

With all that in mind giving a slowdown of up to 90% is absolutely broken. lets say he gets a middle ground of only 45% for the whole 2 minutes. that means the survivors get and extra 54 seconds to work on gens and still go and save the survivor, that means that they are guaranteed to get all 5 gens done and have time to spare to save the other survivor with ease as the 2 survivors who finish gen 4 would go grab the survivor and the other survivor would finish gen 5. The math for this is of course if the survivors could magically teleport to the next gen one after the other and isnt taking into consideration travel time but even then one hooked survivor is at least garunteeing 3 gens done if the killer refuses to leave them. At the same time this is also ignoring great skillcheck bonuses and toolboxes, and the perk prove thyself. This again is also only based on a 45% slow down if you do it to the max of 90% the survivors get a whole whopping additional 108 seconds. This means at max survivors on hook can get a whole 228 seconds on hook making them be able to spend almost 4 minutes on hook. This simply holds the hands of the survivors in a situation they already have the advantage in. Camping on hook is a terrible strategy and is already punishable there is no need to make the punishment even more severe since its already a fail state strategy. if it happens to you, last as long as you can on hook and call it a game, move onto the next match. Just like killers arent garunteed a 4k you aren't guaranteed an escape.

first, no one is gonna know if the killer is camping or not. If survivors see the hooked one doesn't get saved, they will go try to save, and that's time wasted running towards the hook. Since no one knows if it's a camper or not, all 3 survivors WILL go check on the hook. By the time they realize it's a camper, its already too much time wasted. Camper usually gets rewarded for 2k-4k cuz survivors don't have enough info to know if its a camper. You don't get the full 2 min for all 3 survivors on gens, cuz there's walking time, finding gens time, checking on the hook time, realizing camper time. The camper is guaranteed with 2k unless it's a sweaty swf, and sadly those are unicorns, you are lucky if you can find one of those match in 100. And if there's still 2 gens left and only 2 survivors alive, they have no chance escaping, period. Results in 4k for camper, ultimate reward for no brain play.

Also for the fix he suggested, it can be simply improved upon. Think about how to prevent abuse instead of instantly shutting down a valid solution. The hook penalty can simply pause whenever the killer enters a chase or when another survivor is in the proximity of the hook. There, fixed, no abuse, but penalize camping at the same time.

Or, You can have one person fake the save for all of that time. Keeping the killer there for probably about 5-10 mins. Meanwhile. All gens have been done, and the dude on the hook is literally nowhere even near being on second state. Granted for anyone that’s smart that wouldn’t be any issue whatsoever. But about 5% of players that play the game are smart. So that’s a pretty big percentage swinging the other way!

But the mechanic can be improved to prevent that, let's say the penalty stops whenever the killer enters a chase or another survivor is also in the hook proximity

you are not looping right dude. Survivors since ruin nerf are at their STRONGEST so this period is super easy escape and knowing you are struggling despite having broken perks like DS and unbreakable.. Mmm there must be something wrong with your looping style.

TBH, ruin was never needed if you are good. I never ran ruin even when it was strong, cuz I still 4k with other interesting perks and ruin gets destroyed in a min anyway, I'd rather take something more useful. If you think ruin "nerf" made the game too hard for you, then there's something wrong with your skills as a killer, hmm.

  • @0mikeya0 said:

Honestly, the nerfs are pretty fair, like the god loops should have been fixed a long time ago (survivor main btw).... I do understand your frustration about the camping, I think the devs said their working on something to make camping less appealing. Honestly though, I don't understand how they have fun by just standing in one spot or walking around a hooked survivor the whole trial. Now I do understand camping in certain circumstances, like in end game.

Sadly, camping wins them the game or at least draw with 2k most of the time even in red ranks. I've had matches where survivors just crouched around me and watched me till I died even when I had Kindred on. I was furious not because I didn't get saved, but the camper gets rewarded for camping with 4K.

I do play the game and I agree with them. it's a highly abusable perk that's not healthy for the game in its current state and needs a change. Plus devs said they are looking into the perk because it is highly abusable, so mob mentality or not it's getting change and it is a problem.

I mean if you want DS gone, then there must be something else done to prevent killers from tunneling.

If you have to work around it by definition it is affecting your game because you are taking actions you wouldn't take to avoid it. Aka altering your behavior.

If there was no obession it means no one has DS would you still play aroundvit despite knowing no one has it?

I would, I play fair not because of the DS, but because I'm not a dick head. I want all survivors have a chance to do something so everyone can be happy. I literally don't care if anyone has DS or not, I simply don't tunnel or camp them, and I ignore whoever gets unhooked, period. Most of the time, I don't even go back to the hook cuz I get a new chase. The only time I go back is when I can't find anyone, but even then I just let the unhooked survivor go and chase the one that did the unhook. If they bring DS and BT into my game, they basically waste 2 perk slots.

  • what even is a 2nd chance perk? Help you get kills after all gens done? Or help you hit a survivor immediately after you miss the hit?

While I agree perks slone wont guarantee you a 4k, I dont care how skilled you are unless your god tier with nurse specifically, youre not 4king consistently without perks. A God nurse can do it, thats about it.

Unless youre on a smurf accout playing in yellow ranks, then of course. But those are noobs doesnt count.

tbh, huntress, spirit all can 4k without perk or addons in red ranks

You don't play killer that often right? That's okay but then you should try reading threads carefully. I won't give you exambles for reasons you go should go straight for the unhooked guy. When I play survivor and I get unhooked even when the Killer just found a new chase and in jured the survivor he just come back from the other side of the map to tunnel so don't ask me.

But even the fact that I mentioned that DS should be active for only 20 seconds is the prove that you are probably one of those "dare you wanna fix my cheesy trash perk". Because if I did not came back to the unhooked survivor this guy won't run at me the next 60 seconds because DS is still active. It's just active right after the unhook for a short amount of time to get out of the worst case.

So and if you made it out theres no reason to have DS active for a whole minute right? So that if I found you on my way I don't have to be worried to get DSed even if I didn't tunneled you off the hook.

So you are kinda right. Why should I get back and tunnel? Right. And why should you have DS still active even when I did not go back and tunnel you :)

To answer your question, 20s simply not enough to even penalize the killer for tunneling. A killer going straight back to the unhook immediately and ignore eveyone else can still take 15s to grab the unhooked survivor, and then u just wait 5s then hook the survivor again, you lose nothing for tunneling and the tunneled survivor got nothing to fight back.

Now imagine you are the first survivor found 10s in the match, and gets instantly downed by chainsaw cuz u have no idea where the billy was coming from and he just suddenly appeared behind your ass. You get hooked, they unhook you, the billy rush straight back to you when you are in the open trying to get to a loop, but you cant, and you get downed again, billy looks at you for 5s then hook u again. You basically did nothing in a entire match and died to a tunneler.

  • I don't really need BP anymore, so if a ritual ruins the fun, I'd rather not do it.

  • Perks alone won't give you guaranteed 3k, 4k. If you got skills, you can 4k even without perks. Simple as that.

  • @Entity_Hugs said:

Because it's one of the only perks we have that allows us to have a chance of winning when games end in under 5 minutes and SWF groups are everywhere.

I could say the same thing about D. Strike, and Dead Hard. Every Survivor uses them because they work.

SWF which is 0.05% of the survivor base suddenly is everywhere, interesting. I guess you are just the most unlucky person in the world, or you just suck that bad that every game feels like a SWF game. Also DS and DH are not even close to every game, let along every survivor lmao.

I always dump that daily into the trash can.

  • @Akito said:

The reason people are pissed about DS is

first: Even after a chase against another survivor you gonna get DSed if you find and down the survivor fast. This doesn't make any sense.

second: If the survivor has unbreakable and as a killer the survivor is just running at you so the smart play here is to down him - there's no counterplay. You down him bc you want effective map pressure (>slugs<, hooks, kills). But if you slug him no one has to take care of him. He has unbreakable. So he isn't technically pressured. After 24 seconds he's automatically back. But if you pick him up he DS's you. And if you don't down him you have to chase him 60 seconds and keep in mind that you can't kill im yet because DS can be still active...

third: Hopping in a locker reminds me of old facecamping. You can't do nothing. And again that's map pressure you can't take advantage of.

So how could you fix that?

Personally I would like to see DS working like the EGC. Once you got unhooked DS becomes active for 20 seconds. (kinda like BT).

If you get downed during the 20 seconds the timer runs a quarter of the normal speed. (up to 80 seconds)

During this time you can't pick up yourself.

Obviously Unbreakable wouldn't work and someone has to come to pick you up.

You have enough time to reach the next pallet or the next window if the killer decides to go for you. He is forced to give you a fair amount of time to initiate a full chase. This also pretends that survivors let them get downed right before the up to 80 seconds are running out.

And if the killer decides to down you he is forced to a) eat the stun and also give you a fair chance for another full chase. Or he leaves you on the ground and takes the map pressure. So he won't tunnel you but someone has to heal you up and leave the gen for a second. So he can take advantage of you. That pretends that survivors just run at you because they're running DS and unbreakable so that they couldn't care less of getting downed. Aka god mode.

So DS works like Borrowed Time. But DS is a one time thing so you have to make it worth it. You can reach 20 meters more than BT. But it leaves the killer to down you. In this case he can take advantage of you but you also receive a chance of getting out of this sittuation and not getting tunneled.

Why a quarter and not a third? DS would punish hardcore tunneling and facecamping the most. You would have enough time crawling away from the hook or out of the basement and your teammates would've also enough time to heal you up. This also helps so that killer wouldn't just sit out the timer. let's say you get downed in the last 5 seconds of DS being active. It would slow down the timer to 20 seconds. 20 seconds can still be enough for you reaching the pallet or getting picked up by your teammates.

And me when I am playing killer I would think of twice if I want to down you before you throw the potential pallet and just wait the last 20 seconds or if i give you the throw, try to mindgame the pallet and during this dance DS just runs out. In both cases DS leaves you a chance the killer the option of what's happening next.

1: Why go back to tunneling the unhooked? You have no gens to pressure? Even if he comes back to you, you simply hit him and leave him on the ground, ez

2: Again, why do you go back to tunneling? If he just runs at you, you hit him, slug him, gg ez. Unbreakable doesn't mean anything. He could use the time to do better things, but now he is on the ground wasting time and wasting his one time use perk. You are effectively slowing down the game.

3: And again, why do you go back to tunneling? You got nothing better to do other than staring at a locker? This is pure stupidity, and you only have yourself to blame if you lose. Why so obsessed with just one survivor?

All 3 sums up to stop tunneling, literally. There are so many other things to do, but you'd rather chase the unhook, so that's basically your fault. And if tunneling is your strategy, you don't really deserve wins in high ranks, since that's no brain no skill. If you stop tunneling, you will notice that DS doesn't even exist anymore.

before talking ######### about others, maybe you should look at your own skills first. Having problem with DS just tells me you are just a brainless tunneler that wants ez wins. Why not just derank to 20 and kill babies? that should satisfy your ego.

  • @Shocktober said:

I wish these people would play against the full red rank survivor lobbies with a killer that isn't S tier. Even if you are slaying, the game is going to be over in 3-4 minutes. You can spawn in, walk to a gen, 2 tap a survivor, and that will cost you the first generator.

Then you got the survivors being invincible for 2 minutes of the game? Balanced perk. It's why I use the very balanced mori's any chance I get.

Or you can Iri huntress with ebony mori, don't even need 3 mins and you can kill everyone lmao

Here comes the "just leave them for 60 seconds" argument that isn't valid lol. If you played killer at red ranks you would know that leaving someone for 60 seconds will guarantee a loss. DS is a problem and the devs have said they are working on changes too DS because of how problematic it is. it's been almost a year since they've said this but they are working on it, so clearly it is a problem whether you see it or not lol.

If you know how to not tunnel, DS is literally non-existent. They do gens in front of you with DS? Hit them then slug, slug is literally the most efficient way to extend the game more than hook. They go in locker? Leave them, why tunnel them? Go pressure the gens. If you see a problem in DS, that only means you are a tunneler and you just want ez tunnels. Seriously, develop a brain or stfu

  • stupid suggestion. Stop tunneling, here, your problem solved

Also Survivors: [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] [CTRL] GGEZ TRASH KILLER

Tunneling is going straight back to the hook after the unhook, and ignore literally everything else just to kill the unhooked survivor, there's no time for the survivor to heal or hide, are you stupid?

  • @Pega6 said:

The only time I tunnel is when I get DS'd. At that point the game becomes irrelevent and it's just between you and me. The rest of the survivors can all escape for all I care the second I get DS'd I take it personally and have to kill them which usually just means tunneling and facecamping. Apart from that I don't really tunnel (At least not intentionally)

How are you getting DS'd if you don't tunnel?

  • @Entity_Hugs said:

'Because it's easy' is not BS. I try to avoid tunneling straight off a hook, but if I come across 1 uninjured & one injured Survivor later; I'm chasing the injured. It's one less hit to down them, which can be up to 15 less seconds in a chase. It's literally a Big Brain Play.

Why do you think predators go after the weak and infirm? Because it's an easier meal ticket than someone hale and able to fight back or run away.

Just because Survivor's don LIKE that reason does not mean it's not a valid reason. Sorry.

Tunneling is not only an ass move, but also a stupid one. You are not catching injured animals in real life, its a video game with BT and DS. If you go after the injured one that just got unhooked, you are risking to get BT, which is 2 hits to down as well, and DS even wastes more time. Those time you could have used to injure/down another survivor. You also get a bad name for killer tunneler.

  • @TheButcher said:

The devs stated in a stream that one of the reasons to not unlock the tomes is for avoid a player get burned, and I personally am glad that there are 2 weeks gap!

This way I can Take my time to complete the challenges without seeing how those who plays the entire day in DBD left me behind, and even have time to search for videos or in the forums on how other people completed them, taking this 2 weeks gap to buy or level up perks that may need to complete the challenges and even rack up addons/offerings/moris for futree challenges without the pressure of having to complete them at the same time

with the double points weekend I unlocked the essential perks for me on Claudette, now I leisurely am racking up addons and moris in my trapper, I only need that the effing BW give me the tier II and III on my "Sloppy Butcher" perk and im all set for the release of the second tome

and I'm utterly happy I have the entire week without pressure to do so, im sure there are other people like me that are grateful for having the time do do so too!

How would you be pressured if they unlocked all tomes at once? Just how? If you cant finish all tomes in 70 days when there's no time restriction between tomes, you would have even less chance completing all tomes in the current time restricted system. Unlocking all tomes at once wouldn't affect you in the slightest . Right now the tomes are gated at 2 weeks apart, if you finish 1 within 2 weeks, the rest of your precious free time in those 2 weeks are wasted cuz you cant go to the 2nd tome. But if they unlocked all tomes in one day, everyone could do them at their own pace, let it be finishing all 4 in one day or finishing 1 in 70 days, everyone can be happy.

I honestly don't see the pressure here. It's not like you would get less time to complete; you'd still have 70 days to complete all tomes, nothing would change other than giving people more freedom on when they wanna finish the tomes. where do you get the pressure from? And just how exactly would you be left behind if the time restriction was lifted? I just can't understand your logic.

Unless, you meant if you can't get all tomes finished, we better have a time restriction on it, so people who have a bit more time than you also can't finish, and only the teenagers with all the time in the world can finish, so you don't feel being left out as much.

  • Yeah, I agree. When I did this challenge, I used a chest offering and ran around the map only looking for chests without doing anything else. I got hooked twice and died during the process, I didn't do a single thing and got a depip for this stupid challenge.
