If this is an intentional change - finally. Now they just need to hide Survivor Names and Profiles in the Lobby.
I really dont want to see any more Killers dodging because they want to cherrypick the easy games. I played against a P0-Trapper a few days ago who did not even have Tier 3-Perks (I dont know their hours, because they were not on Steam). The Survivor-Team consisted of a few high prestiges and 20k hours total... And because the appropiate Killer dodged, some poor Newbie-Killer got matched against us.
They did not get bullied or anything, but they probably did not have a good match.
So the more reasons are removed to avoid dodging, the better. This is one of them. (Especially because Prestige was so pointless... Someone could be in the game with a P2-character while having multiple P100s and the Killer would not know this anyway...)
-
Did you hide the detail that you were playing Skull Merchant?
In over 8600 hours I have never seen someone give up because of Franklins.

Yeah, experienced it multiple times. Really sad and they are even different from before the recent fix to fast vaults, so this might be their final solution... at least for a while.

I mean, it is worth it if you enjoy it. If you dont think it is a cool skin it is not worth it. I would not get it, but this is just personal taste and highly subjective.
If anything I get the Queen or I hope that the next tome features The Xenomorph and decide if I like the Rift-Outfits more.

7 years. Congrats but now it's a dead game with a dead forum. Every match I face or play with the same survivors or killer. I see their names and they messaged me an hour ago. There is no more players left.
Face it, it's time to move on.
What a Clown.

Regarding its size - wait until it is on the wiki. The last time I read that a Map is too big people complained about Toba Landing, which is a little bit smaller than Coal Tower...
But I would agree that outside of the Main Structure the Map seems to be quite empty. I only played on it two times yesterday, but one time it was hard to find something to work with (to be fair it was against Trapper and he shut down quite a bunch of Loops) and the second time I basically just got tunneled out of the game.

It feels like a rushed job, and i agree. Jonahs voice was just so... nice.
Feels like I didnt get the product i paid for
i feel like they didn't try at all to match, agreed that if it was the voice of the cash-cow (feng) they would of done a better job
If feels like a rushed Job because it was most likely a rushed Job. They did not change the Voice Actor because they wanted to change it, it was not planned, but it needed to be done due to certain things which allegedly happened.
Maybe it is a temporary solution, but I respect BHVR for doing that.
Sad that it hurts Jonah even more. He was one of the most unpopular Survivors due to his Lore (and probably because his Chapter is not really well-liked) and now the connections to the old voice actor and that people might not like the new one will probably make him even more unpopular.

No one complained about this perk it's just run with the chase builds now mft resil hope windows and I guess they decided windows was the problem genius devs.
Oh, Killer players complained about it. They see that a Perk is used very often and assume it is the reason they are losing games.
And IF WoO will be nerfed in the future, guess what happens? The same Killer players still lose games and go for the next Perk. And even before WoO there was another Perk which made them lose games.
So yeah, WoO was complained about and IMO not justified at all. High pickrates are not a reason for Nerfs. I dont even run WoO because I dont feel that I need it.

Yeah, yeah, the new Killer is weak and Killer in general is miserable. Same as usual.
-
If you would remove the Basekit-Endurance people who do this right now would do it without the Basekit-Endurance anyway.
Basekit-Endurance is very important, because the concept of BT was just stupid - you had to rely on another Survivor having a Perk, which you had 0 control over. It is fine that Basekit-Endurance exists, one of the best changes.

Why the histrionics and yet another US vs Them post?
Those are facts tho.
I remember back then Killers wanted Survivor Perks to be nerfed based on Pickrates, but they were against nerfing Killer Perks due to their Pickrates. Back then mainly BBQ was used way more often than any Survivor Perk and Killers would have rioted if it would have been nerfed due to pickrates (it was nerfed eventually, just for different reasons).
In general, nerfing things because they are used often is not really the right way of doing things. A good example would have been Object of Obsession, the Perk was not used much and Users also died a lot, yet it was a Perk which 100% deserved to be nerfed. Windows being used much because it mainly helps Solos is not a good reason to nerf the Perk.
And the sad thing is, even if it is a Bug and the description is wrong, I think it is more likely that they "fix" the Perk to match the description and not vice-versa.

Grim Embrace is also mostly useless if survivors manage to repair a gen just before it activates. Letting them focus on heals/saves while they wait out the 40 seconds. It really needs a buff.
Deadlock is practically guaranteed to get at least some value every game because survivors cannot avoid triggering it unless they never spread out repairs. Which is a very bad idea as it can lead to them 3-genning themselves. I think it's pretty dumb that the killer can get up to 2 minutes of gen block time by doing nothing.
I dont really think that you can buff Grim Embrace. At least not with the current effect. 40 second of all Gens being blocked is not enough, I would agree on that. But you cannot really increase the time. I mean, 2 minutes of all Gens being blocked in a situation where the Map already was drained of ressources would be too much for example.
When it comes to Deadlock, I dont know why they never thought about nerfing it. It is just a stupid design, the Killer gets value by doing exactly nothing. And I mean it, it is a Perk which is very good when camping. It is already not possible to do 5 Gens while one person is on the Hook, but having to deal with Deadlock on top of it means that Survivors probably can get 3 Gens done max during those 2 minutes the person on the Hook is camped. Free value without any input.
@Topic:
The way I see it is that BHVR is way too careful when it comes to Perk Design. Look at Dark Theory, it is just bad. In general, Boons are a failed concept because except for CoH, which was most likely a Cashgrab to promote a Survivor only-Paragraph, all of them have been bad and even CoH is nuked into uselessness. Made for This is strong, but also less careful designed, because Perks like Dark Theory are just not really good and should not exist. And IMO it is better if they release strong Perks which might even be a talking point, instead of releasing Perks where everyone is just like "Eh, whatever".
Killers have it better in this regard, they usually get at least one Perk which is either universally good or at the very least good on some Killers. But for the most part, before Made for This and CoH, Survivors did not really get good Perks for years.
But I prefer them releasing Perks like Made for This and Deadlock over Perks like Dark Theory or Grim Embrace. The problem is, you will rarely find Perks which are fun for both sides and strong as well. Most of the time the fun Perks (especially when they should be fun for both sides) are not good. And the strong Perks are not perceived fun for the other side.
-
None on Survivor really. I like to use Adrenaline, but I would not call it an addiction and I am fine without using it. I used to be addicted to Balanced Landing and Iron Will, before the Devs made them nearly useless or not worth picking.
As Killer, I am addicted to Lethal Pursuer. Even before they buffed it to affect other Aura Readings, I just loved to see where Survivors are and just be in a chase immediatly.

It's a case of "I didn't get what I think I deserve and now I'm gonna cry about it on the forums and tell people how horrible bhvr is".
Yeah, exactly. The Devs never promised that they will do Dev-Updates before every Release. They did so in the past, but it was never promised. And IMO there are not really big issues with the content, people were overall really positive about the Chapter, so I dont really see it as urgent that they do a Dev-Update and explain changes they are doing to the Xenomorph or other newly released content.

End Lobby Dodging 2023.
I am convinced that this is something that should be done. Once in a Lobby, you can only leave it with a penalty which increases the more often you dodge. Basically DC-Penalty for the Lobby.
Today I had a game where the Killer dodged us and the Killer who got backfilled was nowhere near the Level of the Survivors. I dont know how many hours the Killer had, but it was a Console-Trapper, P0, no Add Ons, 2 Tier 2 Perks and 2 Tier 1 Perks. We, the Survivors, were 2 2 man-SWFs with 20k hours overall.
And only because the first Killer chickened out, a poor inexperienced Killer was put into our Lobby. None of us were toxic or anything, so it is not like the Killer got bullied. But I doubt it was a good game for them, especially since they were probably in some of their first games as Trapper.
So either they remove Lobbydodging, put a penalty in or make Backfilling prioritize Matchmaking over time. I think backfilled Lobbies are an unneccessary tool which can lead to frustration (and if we look at OP, even when the game turns out to be easy...)

This is what I've been saying for a while. They need to remove her insanely RNG-based add-ons (Tampered Timer + Crate of Gears) and buff her to, imo, give her more consistent chasing power. If she got just a slight tweak to make her a little bit better in chase I think she'd be in a pretty good spot.
Yeah, exactly. I think that they changed her Traps in a way to be more consistent was good. Now if one Survivor gets the Trap off in their first try you know that the others will have to search at least 3 Boxes (with two of them having to search 4 Boxes). But Tampered Timer and other Add Ons keep the RNG. Tampered Timer on Coal Tower can be non-existent, Tampered Timer on Mothers Dwelling can mean death if you need to do 4 Boxes.
So I would really love if they improve her stealth and chase, because Pig has basically 3 powers - RBTs, Stealth and the Dash. And making her chase better by improving Stealth and Dash would make her overall better (even if they nerf Add Ons for the RBTs) and also more consistent and IMO also more fun. Because I personally like to use the Dash, but it can be highly frustrating.

This is nonsense.
Exhaustion add-ons add variety to builds. There's nothing about them that is outdated. But Pig's power certainly is. So instead of asking for a situationally useful and fair mechanic to be removed from her add-ons, how about you offer some suggestions to make Pig's power more interesting?
Because right now you're not making a good case for yourself.
I was mainly talking about Exhaustion-Add Ons. Why do you make a Pig-Discussion out of it? I was only talking about her one Add On.
But if you want to hear some Off-Topic - I think many Add Ons regarding her Traps should be removed or reworked. Exhaustion and Mangled should not be a thing. Tampered Timer should be gone as well. And I would love some Add Ons which focus more on her Stealth and Ambush, because those two things are lackluster and are also part of her Power (not only the RBTs).
I think with the changes that a certain number of searches is hit when you use all of your RBTs her Slowdown is decent enough without that much focus on her Traps when it comes to Add Ons. But her Crouch and especially the Dash could use some Add On-Support.

ok, i have 3000h in this game and main pig. I dont say that i lose against this perk combi (well sometimes i actually do, but it happens rarely). However. THIS ISNT FUN TO PLAY AGAINST. This is my point. Dh was unfun to play against. Made for this is unfun to play against.
And yes. Windows is a perk that gives you distinct instructions on how to play. I did an experiment a few weeks ago where i played with the face mask - addon (piggies blindness addon) and wanted to see how players played against me. The result: some survivors played really good regardless, probably players like you that dont need it. Others where completely hopeless (they had the perk) They didnt know anything about pathing, looping or whatever. They told me that they had huge problems playing against me. These are your regular pre droppers and shift w - players. They dont look behind them, they just follow the yellow boxes and interact with them.
Windows has two functions:
Good players: use it to know what recources are left
Less skilled players: use it as a game manual and turn their brain off.
Sadly i feel like i encounter the second type more often than the first because i genuinely enjoy a good chase. Running after survivors like a bot because they have this perk and stop thinking isnt fun though.
To preface this - I have more hours than most people in this game, even some content creators. (Currently ~8660 hours)
So it is entirely possible that my experience is a bit different because I played far longer and if I can remember the Maps very well, it does not mean that the majority can do that.
That being said, the second type of players is also more common IMO so this is why you (and me) encounter them more often. But I dont really think that this is a problem that they are on autopilot. The less experienced/less skilled players still have to loop and they will not be as efficient as good players. Stuff like combining structures will probably not be a thing and they drop pallets early (as you said already).
Furthermore, if WoO is such a problem, why dont Killers use Blindness? Half of the roster has a Blindness-Add On. Then you have some Perks, mainly Fearmonger, which is not bad at all which would at least counter WoO at the start of the chase (if you catch them on a Gen).

I play various perk-builds, not just his Meta, because the same 7 perks over and over again is kinda boring.
Yeah ok, I respect that. I just think that STBFL basically "forces" you to go for M1s, which makes you weaker. Because you want to have Stacks and you want to have value from the Perk and because of that, you are using the power less, while this is one of the best things about Wesker. (It also removes the passive Slowdown you usually get with him because you dont infect people)

Didn't they literally say the vaults are being reverted because the change they implemented isn't working as intended?
Dunno why you have to make such a passive aggressive post towards the o/p.
Yeah, they have said this. That being said, vaults were not working for years and Killers got used to just swing at the window and still got their Hit. And threw a tantrum when this was not the case anymore. Now they are reverted and we can probably wait a few years again before they are not awful.
And well, OP is one of those people who will never say that they played badly but blame the game for their losses. As you can see here - they probably did not play good, otherwise those windows would not be "infinites". But for them, the problem lies in some Perks the Survivors used.

@radiantHero23 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3525540#Comment_3525540
Killer has to play better. Agree, could be the problem.
On the other hand, survivors literally have a perk that tells them how to play .....
Also, have you played against a made fo this + resilience + windows ace as an m1 killer like pig? It feels horrible. We had dh with the stupid waiting game now we have this where you cant even get into the position to get a hit a lot of the times. Porblems just change, they dont go away.
Skill issue i guess...
I dont see that Windows is a Perk which tells you how to play, but rather where to go for ressources. If you have a few hundred hours in this game you dont need Windows to know where you find Pallets or Windows. What you dont know is where your teammates have removed ressources.
And yeah, I play mostly M1-Killers. So I know how ot play against those Perks and I dont even care if I lose because most of the time I lose because I make mistakes or because the other side is just better. The difference is that I dont throw a tantrum.
-
Its funny that people still think that "pressure" means "pressuring Gens". And well, you are playing Wesker, not really the weakest Killer. (Even tho, I hate to see STBFL on Wesker... You should use your power and not M1 everyone except for the Obsession... If you play Wesker as an M1-Killer for STBFL-value I can see one point where you can improve your gameplay..)
-
If they are infinites you seem to run them horribly wrong. But yeah, it is Made For This, Resilience and Fast Vaults.
But dont worry, the Devs revert the Fast Vaults, because good vaults are not allowed here. Just swing it windows when you are nowhere near them, the Survivor will get set back for you =)

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3525164#Comment_3525164
Why shouldn't they exist?
Because, as I said, they are outdated. They were introduced in a time where Exhaustion recovered while running. But even with their times shortened, it does not really matter. 5 seconds of Exhaustion still means that the Exhaustion will not really recover in chase. So it does not matter if it is 5 seconds, 30 seconds, 90 seconds or whatever. Let alone that Fearmonger exists as a decent Perk, which also provides 5 seconds of Exhaustion. And there are Add Ons, which are a smaller investment (an Add On-Slot weighs less than a Perk-Slot IMO) which do the same.
I mean, just imagine old Ruin was still around (red Skill Checks, Regression for Good Skill Checks) and the Instruction Add On (no Skill Checks on Gens) would have been a thing back then. Killers would have rioted because an Add On would have countered a Perk. And this is what should not be the case.
@thisislastyearsmodel said:

I don't think it promotes tunneling, but even if it did that's 3 people (presumably at least a couple without traps) that are free to do gens to their heart's content.
Pig has no real chasing potential so it's not crazy to assume that three gens could pop while she's chasing the one person with an RBT.
Oh, it surely does. Because the Survivor who has the RBT on their head will be an easier target than other Survivors since they are injured (which can even be ensured when using the Mangled-Add On as well) and they wont have any Exhaustion-Perk while other Survivors would have them. Again, not saying that this is her strongest Add On, because it is not. But it promotes a playstyle which is the complete opposite of how Pig is played.

I must be shocking a bit late then. When I try to do what you're describing, they usually get the vault or drop off even though they also scream.
Must not be the case. Doc is highly inconsistent, I think it is due to Ping. You can shock them and they fully scream BEFORE the vault or Pallet Drop and STILL get it.
-
Exhaustion Add Ons should not be a thing anymore. Yes, they got nerfed (rightfully so since they were heavily outdated), but they should not exist at all. Yet BHVR gives Killers Exhaustion Add Ons (Singularity has one for example).
The worst offender is the one from Pig. Yes, it is not her best Add On, but it just promotes tunneling. Which should never be the playstyle of her but can help with that.
-
In EU it was always on Survivor during the day and in the evening/night it switches to Killer. This does not mean that Killers are leaving the game or an endangered species. This is only said by Killer Mains who really think the game is worse than it is.
I think most people play both sides. And most people have time during the evening. Which means that this is the best time to play with friends, aka SWF. E.g. I play Killer during the day. When a friend of mine is online, it is evening/night so we play Survivor. This removes one Killer from the Killer Pool and adds two Survivors. Which means that 1 1/2 Killers are needed to compensate for this (1 for the spot I left and 1/2 for the spot I took with my friend).
It is just players shifting to a different role. Not Killers leaving.
-
Did you DC manually before? If yes, then you maybe should not do that because then, in case it is out of your control, the penalty would not be that high. The penalty starts low for a reason to not punish people too much if they get DCed by the game, Steam Maintenance or similar things.
If they DC a lot in their games and then get a high penalty to something unrelated to them, it is still their fault if they have a high penalty when the DCs before that were manually...

"90% kill rate still means survivors dominate in a SWF ! REEE SKILL ISSUE REEE"
Yeah, I remember back then when Ranks were still a thing. Devs released Stats and people saw that Killer wasnt doing too bad (and this is a few years ago where Killer was way harder). But then people claimed that the stats were not valid because there was no indication about Red Ranks since those were overall stats.
The next time the Devs released stats which showed overall and Red Ranks, people claimed that they are wrong because they did not differ between platforms.
And I know for sure the next time we see stats, people will claim they are wrong again, the devs made a mistake or are just lying because they dont match their experience. Because I am sure they will show once again that Killer is really not doing badly.
-
I hope not. Not even because of FNAF, I think it was a decent game before they made 800 sequels of it. I also think that something like an Animatronic would fit in DBD.
However, the community really ruined it for me. There was a time, whenever a Chapter was about to come, people said it will be FNAF. Even if it was very clear that it is NOT FNAF, players were still arguing that it might be (happened when Pinhead was announced).
And I know for sure, even if we get a FNAF-Chapter, two days after release the fanbase wants another FNAF-Chapter (because RE also got two...) or is asking for Legendary Cosmetics from every character.
-
Your wish is my command:
-
Or people run a Perk which helps them during the game so that the Survivors dont even reach Endgame and play with 2 Perks (when they have MFT, Hope and Adrenaline).
But yeah, NOED is good for the pity Kill.
-
My prediction is that some people will find the weirdest reasons again why the stats should not be valid. (If we get any stats)
-
At this point it is most likely that it is not on BHVRs part that there is no cross-progression. So I guess we have to wait for the platforms which are currently the reason why there is no cross-progression.

Doesn’t new RPD spawn with a guaranteed 3-gen? Or did the devs change that?
RPD is one of the Maps which is very, very likely to spawn a 3-Gen. You can have 2 Gens in the Main Hall and at least one Gen really close to it.
-
Buying Cosmetics for a DLC which was known for being removed without buying the actual characters is just stupid. Sorry to say it this way, but I cannot understand why people paid so much money for the Cosmetics (even when they might have been on discount), but did not spend the few bucks more to actually own the ST-characters. Especially because those were on discount as well.
For any other DLC-character, people can buy the DLC and get access to the Character, their progression and the Cosmetics. But currently people are complaining about not having things which they did not own in the first place.

3 gen originated as a solution to dealing with huge maps and low mobility Killers. Why should the Killer walk for 10 seconds to that one lone gen on the other side of the map when they can patrol 3 gens close by? Territorial Killers also benefit from this strategy as they aren’t designed to go for chases.
Not too sure what BHVR’s exact words are but claiming 3 genning not being how the game was supposed to be played is kind of shooting themselves in the foot given their design philosophy like hag and trapper. SM was just an extreme example of the territorial Killer design but I fear that BHVR will also kill 3 genning to the point that Survivors can just do whichever gens they come across and not get punished for it.
"Survivors can just do whichever gens they come across and not get punished for it."
The thing is, this is not how it is anymore. A few years ago, I would agree, 3-genning was on the Survivor-part. However, nowadays Killers start to 3-Gen from the start. And the Survivors cannot really do anything about it. You can keep the other 4 Gens at 99%, finish them or dont touch them at all. As long as the Killer defends the 3-Gen without any intention to move or down Survivors, the Survivors will not be able to do one of those 3 gens.
And nowadays it is just extreme with Killers holding the game hostage for up to an hour (or until the Survivors just give up) just for the Server to close the game. Skull Merchant is the best Killer in doing this, but other Killers can do it to. Granted, it depends more on the Map for other Killers, but some Maps, especially newer and reworked ones can spawn some very nasty 3-Gens. On reworked Blood Lodge I have seen a 3-Gen with a Gen in Shack and one of each side of the Shack. Really easy to protect and the only Pallet in that area was 1 Car Loop and Shack Pallet.
The Killer did not use this 3-Gen, if they would, they would have won without any doubt.
-
Where do you get this number from?
If I look at Night-Light, 14 Killers are played above average. Which is not bad.

Not really excited, I was never really bothered with the Franchise so far so it is not really anything special for me, just another DBD-Chapter.

The Nerfs did nothing to his fun. Freddy was boring since the Rework. The reason why he was played a lot was because he was way too easy for the benefit you got. A toddler could have played him and do well, this is how easy he was. The Nerfs removed this, but the general fun was untouched - he is very plain and his skill floor is basically his skill ceiling. A working match making would be nice.
This it true. Current MMR is not it, the best would be rank-based matchmaking with a big Rank Reset. But BHVR is contradicting itself when it comes to this. Back then they lowered the Rank Reset because "people who dont play as much" would feel left out. This resulted in overall bad matchmaking because everyone was in Red Ranks really quick (before it took the bad players some time to get there, which means you had good matchmaking for around 3 weeks).
Then with MMR your grade gets reset to 20 each months, meaning that "people who dont play as much" will most likely not reach Iri 1. Which was the reason in the first place why they changed the Rank Reset and resulted in Rank-Matchmaing becoming bad.
And now with MMR you can get really good players and newbies back to back. Sure, some things are because of lobby-dodging Killers which results in someone not as experienced as the Survivors to be backfilled into the Lobby. But this does not explain everything.
-
Then play TCM for a few weeks before the game lost its charme.
There is 0 point in having a ranked mode. Because nothing would prevent players from sweating in Casual Mode instead.

I think killers believed that survivors would still try to heal through a sloppy butcher, nerfed medkit/self healing META. The hope seemed to be that healing would be nerfed but gen regression would still be strong, so basically it made the games easier for killers to 4K. But BHVR wants a specific kill rate which means that survivors have to have something in their favor going in to trials.
Which is funny, because the same exact thing happened years ago - healing got nerfed and Survivors focussed on Gens. And now, Healing gets nerfed and Killers make surprised pikachu-faces that Survivors rather stay injured instead of wasting around a fourth of Gentime for a single heal or half a gen when two Survivors heal each other. And the reason for that - Mangled.
I think currently Mangled might be overtuned. Especially because Nurse gets a Mangled-Add On (which was a stupid decision to remove her synergy with Sloppy Butcher, just to give the Killer who does not even need Add Ons an Add On which does the same, freeing up a Perk Slot for another Gen Regression-Perk) and basically every Killer who relies mainly on M1s running Sloppy Butcher.
I think you cannot look at healing times and say "Healing another Survivor takes 16 seconds, healing yourself takes 24 seconds" because Mangled is applied in so many games. (Same that you could not say that when CoH and strong Medkits were around, which is the reason why those got nerfed. And now its Mangleds turn to get a Nerf)

I think Midwich is the one Map which should have no Hook RNG. This would make Oaks useless on this map, but nobody would care about that.
You can have hallways without a Hook and then Hallways with 3 or even more Hooks. I mean, there is 0 RNG when it comes to Pallets or breakable Walls on this Map, so there should be no RNG for Hooks either.

Not that sure about Blindness being undertuned. Given that Windows of Opportunity is the most used Survivor-Perk and Killers complain about it, equipping Add Ons or Perks which cause Blindness would be the way to go. Granted, it would not change the fact that it hurts Solos more than SWF.
However, I think instead of buffing Blindness, I would just pair it with Oblivious and create new Add Ons for those which were only Blindness-related. This gives two status effects to certain Add Ons, with Blindness basically being the Bonus to Oblivious.
Regarding defeaning - I dont really want to see this more often. It is a really unpleasant feeling in the ears IMO.
Overtuned - I think Mangled is used too often nowadays, e.g. Sloppy Butcher has become too frequent. But I would not change much on Mangled, I would remove Hemorrhage from everything which causes Mangled. I think slower healing and healing regression are strong enough on their own and should not be combined. So Mangled/Hemorrhage is overtuned with both on their own being fine.
