I have the platinium trophy in ps4 but you tell me that I need time, but you don't say anything about rank12 killer versus 4 red ranks, same bullshit of "get presion on gens"... The game in ps4 is broken , there are only red ranks survivor Vs low ranks, and the reason idno people
The game in PS4 is not broken. PC is superior, but PS4 isn't broken (I play on both). I'm able to get to red ranks as both roles without much of any struggle.
You can blame the PS4 all you want, but it really comes down to your personal skill and perk/ add-on selection (and no, platinum trophy on PSN doesn't mean SQUAT).
Many people also SWF, which could be the reason why some survivors in a match are red ranks, while others are not.
When I SWF, there is usually one or two red ranks with everyone else being (usually) green or lower.
Many people prefer SWF because being stuck with a random team is unbearable.
It's also better to SWF since 90% of killers tunnel and/or camp anyways.
You're free to play the blame game, but it it won't ever yield any results for you.

It's not the only choice... and as I said before I could have. It would have been warranted. I didn't let her go because I felt bad if that's what you are referring to. I just didn't care for her at that point when other survivors who hadn't been hooked needed to.
Consider this. The Meg already has a 'hook' ( or hook equivalent in this case) on her. If he could down another/ injure multiple survivor(s) then he has the opportunity to earn more BP. Killing a survivor ASAP nets you less BP than of you were to go after others. If said Meg is alive longer, then our killer friend here has more opportunities to earn even more BP from a Meg he has already proven he is more than capable of taking down (more likely to win another chase with her with less pallets on the map anyways [ let's be honest, survivors LOVE to slam down pallets]).
It's GOOD if multiple survivors want to go in for the save/heal, take the opportunity to go bust some gens. Regress their progress and maybe even (usually, in my experience) find another survivor along the way.
Continue to apply pressure on the map/gens and the team will eventually become exhausted (no, not the status effect exhaustion) with each of them having had been hooked multiple times. Many people may not realize this, but many survivors tend to become noticably sloppier when they are nervous about their last hook.
The BP payout is worth the extra work.
I've usually been able to bag 50K+ BP, even if a survivor escapes. The entity rewards you more when you make the survivors suffer for as long as possible vs just killing everybody ASAP.

Have you seen how his power works? He literally already has a 3 second CD.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1373922#Comment_1373922
So there's anywhere between 1-3 other survivors in a game, and not one of them is closer to the cage than the killer is? Tunnelling exists on PH because everyone keeps treating cages like hooks. If I play PH I *know* that if I go to the cage, I'll probably find at least one other survivor there. Unhook the dude and begone before PH gets there and now he has less map pressure than if he simply hooked.
Well, there's no guarantee that the other survivors will be closer. It's not like PH sends someone to a cage from clear across the map Everytime. Often, he is somewhere towards the center (or anywhere that literally isn't nearby a wall) and doesn't have much of a distance to cover before reaching said caged survivor.
I've been able to apply pressure on the map using PH with no problem after sending someone to a cage WITHOUT tunneling.
Either way, if you have rely on tunneling with PH you're trash.
Tunneling to kill survivors ASAP will only get you less BP anyways, so it's really a waste.

I agree. I like how people keep saying that he has to cross entire map, like he’s always downing someone at very edge. What if he downs and sends them to cage while at center of map?
Right? It happens more often than not.

Geez, like only 2-3 maps had slight size reduction and everyone keeps on mentioning it like some massive nerf that completely changed DBD's problem with map pressure and made all maps easy to traverse as all killers.
Map reworks focused on removing some of the god loops not reducing size of all maps so yeah it still takes a while to cross maps, long enough to give a fair window for an unhook. If survivors keep on sitting on gens and don't give saves high enough priority then killers are going to defend them and punish survivors for ignoring their hooked teammates.
Well, feel free to go for the tunnel and/or camp. The killer is free to waste their time and be as scummy as they want, even if it's the only tactic they are capable of implementing.
Either way, if you have to rely on tunneling as Pyramid Head, you're pretty trash.
-
@Kebek said:
Or survivors could just reach the cage first and then leave before killer has to cross entire map. This feels like asking for even more free unhooks then the cages already are and as you said, the spawns are predictable so it would in the end only be annoying bad QoL change which does nothing else then annoys killers.
Yup, because it takes so long to travel across the new, smaller maps.

Agreed he has so much potential ive been having a blast with him ive almost got to rank 1 just by using him!
Same! I get 4k without even trying! No tunneling, ZERO camping! Even at red ranks! The amount of bloodpoints I get is RIDICULOUS!
I feel that people who tunnel as their main strat only do so to feel 'godly' or 'powerful'.
It only shows how pathetic they must be IRL to crave such a feeling.
-
If you need to tunnel as pyramid head, you're trash.
He's so much better than that.
So many people choose to be a complete disgrace to Pyramid Head when they tunnel with him.

Sometimes, actually alot of times you get survivors going for the instant saves and then what? Are you supposed to just play dumb and pretend they aren't right there. I think I get screwed by survivors pulling me off the hook too fast and hanging me out to dry as camping killers. I also find it helps to maybe first pop a gen to punish killer, then find a teammate to go for a tandem save to further punish them. The game doesn't need to be changed. You just have to play differently imo. I'm not even super good either.
Duh, go for the cocky survivor who does the instant unhook. The cocky ones are really good at taking dumb chances and regretting it.
In this case, I usually just smack the rescuing survivor, then chase them until I hear another gen to harass. Often, they will go down beforehand. Even if a full SWF goes in for the rescue, they aren't focusing on gens. They can distract themselves with healing while I smack someone else or bust a gen.
Again, not obsessed with tryharding. Just having fun. Either way, gens are more important.
Keep busting gens, they will continue to grow more cocky which will present more opportunities to continue to wear them all down. Even if someone escapes, it is usually by the skin of their teeth.
Hopefully this works for you. I have been playing since the game released on console and have been using this tactic for quite some time. It has worked wonderfully for me, especially with some of the perks that DLC characters have contributed.
Currently, I have been favouring
Ruin
Distressing
Surveillance
(Fourth perk I change depending on my mood) usually thrill of the hunt, huntress lulluby, thanatophobia, etc.

So if a killer is chasing a survivor near a hook? The survivor is just invincible are they?
Tried, tested, abused by swf. Try again.
They could do something like that, just negate the reduction in sacrifice speed if another survivor also happens to be nearby.
The biggest issue with all of this, when playing as a survivor, is how long it takes to get into a match. Nobody likes to wait for an extended period of time just for camping and tunneling. A killer with real skill won't have to do either.
Win or lose, I just want a healthy match for the 30+ minutes of waiting I just did to get into said match.
As a killer, it's far more entertaining to just harass and scare the ever loving ######### out of survivors. Go for kills, but prioritize keeping pressure on the map. With smaller map sizes it's never been easier to patrol gens and keep the pressure on everyone. Hell, there are even more deadzones now. Even if a few escape (which is still not as often as I would expect) I still, most of the time, get at least a brutal killer rating (or better) and plenty of bloodpoints to boot (35k or more).
To feel the need to deliberately ruin someone else's day must be a telltale sign that one must actually feel quite small and pathetic IRL.

Just saying.
Yup, let's be super scummy even though they probably waited like 30 minutes for a match.

Not so much anymore.
Waiting 30+ minutes for a match just to camped and tunneled kills the game for me.
It wouldn't be so bad if matchmaking wasn't so ######### awful!

'cause nothing's better than waiting 30+ minutes for a match as survivor then getting tunneled and moried.

I've had a couple games tonight where I've been hiding WAY out of the way in weird spots and the killer has bee-lined right toward me, and they haven't been using chili or any other perks that would have told them where I was. I know there's a lot of anti-cheat software on the game, but is it possible that these players have a hack that's showing them where survivors are?
Same thing has been happening quite often with my SWF group. The killer will be equipped with absolutely NO tracking perks/ add-ons and still make a bee line for survivors completely out of sight.
-
Makes no sense to make them mobile exclusives.
I'm sorry, I tried to like it. I really did, but DBD mobile is trash.

Yeah that's super frustrating for you guys. I'm red rank for both survivor and killer so I have no issue playing red rank games. If anything, as a solo, it's harder for me to actually escape as survivor than me getting winning as killer. There's a lot of survivors who clearly do not belong in red ranks at all and the SWF I sometimes get matches with do not bother saving me at all despite me lasting in chases/repairing all the gens. As killer, the competition I face off against are the team mates I wish I had when I play solo, but the difference is that as killer, I can control the match most of the time to my liking.
I highly suggest you take a small break for the game if this is getting to you. Whenever I lose as killer, I take it as learning opportunities to perform better next match. You can't win em all!
When I'm facing survivors who are clearly not very good at the game, I will hook them once or twice and let them repair generators, pretend to chase them so they get points, etc. I sympathize with those not so good survivors and don't want to make their experience frustrating if I go all out. The queue times for survivors are long so why make them wait so long for a not so pleasant match?
This. This here.
THANK YOU! I wish more people thought this way!

Lol no, I never use my palm to rotate.
Not really beating the wiggle stick either.
I was, however, doing a back and forth movement with the control stick.
Control sticks are usually the first thing to go when it comes to controllers, I just feel that there could be a better way to wiggle free than to use the control stick. (Didn't know you could just rotate the stick instead, still think L1 R1 would be a better option)

It doesn't deserve a camp/tunnel but killers make up ANY reason to justify it. No matter what a survivor does if the person playing killer is a camper/tunneller they're going to do it, even if you were the most polite survivor ever.
Sorry, but if someone is gonna be THAT cocky and BM while they're at it, then they get whatever comes to them.
There are no formal rules for this, so it's at the killers discretion.
It's why I try to avoid poking the bear.
-
The legion = edgelord fanservice.

I only camp/tunnel when a survivor has been BMing me.
Go on survivors, keep shining flashlights after slamming down a pallet.

I feel the same way. Toxic players like this only hurt the overall health of the game.

I use fixated and UE when stealthing. Being able to get away quickly while crouching has often made the difference, even if UE doesn't get a boost from fixated.
Improving your overall movement speed without running helps big time when stealthing.

I know this is frustrating, but is there any chance you could clip the next time you notice this happening? I know it's sometimes hard to notice issues in the moment, but it'd be super useful to have a video if there is a real issue with it. It'd be best to get a clip of when you're having trouble revealing, and a screenshot showing the post-game showing everyone's perks and add-ons.
The PS4 has the ability to pre-save video if you haven't disabled this option, so you can just start clipping once the match is over, presuming it hasn't gone over, I believe, 15 minutes.
I'll try to remember to. I usually forget about the record options on these things until I accidentally press the damned 'share' button at the WORST possible times. (PS4 controllers kinda suck).

Run spine chill if you can't move your mouse 360 degrees to keep watch of your surroundings.

His reveal is fine. Literally every time survivors try to show that it's broken, they're messing up something fundamental about how you reveal him. It would be nice if people would learn how something works before complaining that it doesn't work.
My personal favorite is when the survivor's head is completely covering GF, while they're just screaming and shaking the camera, lamenting over how "busted" his reveal mechanics are.
Reveal is fine SOME of the time. I can usually reveal him pretty easily, but there are some matches where he just won't come out of NS.
Revealing is easy, and I'm already aware how it works, but it does not always work as it should.
I should also clarify, I'm on PS4. Might be part of the issue.
-
His reveal needs to be fixed.
The real problem with this ######### killer is that he's buggy as #########.
Fix the bugs and issues with his reveal, and he'll be more balanced.

If you're trying to do a staring contest against Ghostface you're doing everything wrong.
imagine a stalker was peeking out of a corner and you spotted him, would you just look at him? no, you run away from the situation, keeping your eyes on him to make sure you know where he is.
similarly, in DBD, you don't just stand there while he build up his exposure on you, you run away and focus on him.
I've done this, it still bugs out once in a while.
-
I'm ######### sick of ghostface as well. I play against him in almost EVERY match.

Ghostface has ruined this games experience for me.
There are so many matches with this stupid ######### killer they might as well rename the game 'Scream: the game'.
It's like ghostface plundered legions following of edgelord fanboys and sent every other killer on holiday.
I could care less about surviving another match at this point, it would just be nice to see more variety.
-
Why are so many people so hard on the devs?
Their job isn't easy. Disagree?
Fine, go and code yourself a better game and shut the ######### up.
Nothing is perfect, and they are constantly working on this game for our enjoyment.
Stop being petulant brats.
Pissed off by the game? TAKE A BREAK!
No one is forcing you to play this game, and no one is forcing you to get so worked up.
-
Seriously?
This is stupid to complain about.
Would you prefer if the killer just tunneled/camped you instead?
It's just good strategy. A good killer will focus more on applying pressure on the map, so why complain?
I usually deal with these kinds of killers by trolling them enough to want to chase me.
Running right up to a killer using this strategy and doing 360's (successfully) will usually irritate a killer into giving chase, especially if one can manage to bait and avoid multiple attacks.
The worst that can happen is you get killed (at a certain point, it's better than a seemingly endless match).
Either way, just jump into another match.
-
Sometimes, I find that taking an extended break (a week or so) does wonders for helping me to enjoy the game again after a while.
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder"
-
It certainly wouldn't help with lore.
Survivor perk are inspired by the characters personality and backstory.
Maybe it could be a good idea for a dead by daylight sequel of sorts.
-
As a killer, I usually just keep pressure on the map and gens.
Letting a looping survivor get away is worth it if it means preventing a gen from being completed.
Cocky survivors usually slip up and make mistakes at SOME point(s).
-
Sprint burst can be awesome. Does not need a Nerf (how would you do that without making it 100% useless anyways?).
-
Lol. People DO get banned on PS4.
Reporting is just more tedious than on PC.
Just capture the footage of the gameplay (the SHARE button),upload it to YouTube as 'unlisted' and send the link to the devs to follow up with your report.
Reporting on PS4 with the current interface is what really deters most people from ACTUALLY REPORTING.
Just hitting the 'report' button does nothing.
It actually just makes it easier for the devs to find the ACTUAL DETAILED REPORT you would fill out should you click on the 'help' button (the speech bubble with the little question mark inside).
-
After finishing the rift I simply played other games for a while. I know when I come back (most likely this evening or so) it will be great again.
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder."
-
The devs dont give a #########. This has been an issue for quite some time and they just don't care, especially of you're on console.
They would rather spend their time making more ca$hgrab characters than to actually improve the mechanics of the game.
-
Is anyone honestly surprised? The matchmaking in this game is, by far, the WORST out there right now.
It has been a major issue for quite some time. One which the devs just can't seem to figure out.
-
The terrible matchmaking in this game will make it easy for another similar game to swoop up the dwindling fan base of this game.
-
I really dont mind idle crows...until I have to take a pee break. I just duck into a locker, and when I get back there's ALWAYS idle crows. I am usually only gone for about 30-40 seconds. It's ridiculous.
Doesn't help that I have a medical condition which caused frequent urination....
*le sigh*
-
They wont ban anyone for abusing bugs or for even cheating. This practically encourages lag switching and makes the game, overall, crap.
They WILL ban for DCing too much. Of all thimgs to ban for...great logic devs.
