Buff PH's add-ons (and his cake), Nerf Nurse or Blight, Rework Freddy.
-
Ultimate Weapon is being changed so survivors won't scream, instead it'll reveal your aura. The cooldown has also been increased, so in a weird way, this is pretty much exactly what you're asking for.
-
Freddy players who stick with him are generally pretty into the game so I'd say he tends to be played by better players. He's also less common in the pool so a lot of people don't know how to vs him.
-
"A common misconception is that as a survivor you have a right to not be tunneled."
Something about the way this statement is written is so funny to me. DBD is a video game, not a bill of rights.
It feels bad when you're playing a game and get taken out early, nobody wants to be the first one bankrupt in Monopoly. DBD's design just so happens to make it so that getting a player out of the match early is extremely advantageous for killer whilst feeling extremely bad as survivor because depending on the gen count, you know your comrades aren't going to be very far behind you.
Nobody has a right not to be tunneled, but we're all playing the same game here. Unless it's a necessary strat for the killer to do or the survivor is asking for it (seriously Nea Ormond is a big map and you're sitting injured behind a rock like the last three times you went for a Flash bang save), I don't see what most players get out of it.
-
To be honest I think this means a lot of survivors will start using Hope instead which is a much better endgame perk imo because of the base speed increase lasting all of endgame instead of being a one and done. Adrenaline is still good for getting a heal, but it's a bit more situational now than before.
Maybe as a compromis to the hook change, Adrenaline could pause the sacrifice timer for a little while to ensure Players who equip it and make it to endgame at least get something out of it? Like a little Reassurance so your teammates can breath for a minute without being forced to make a ballsy play.
It fits thematically too, since the Survivor or resisting the Entity better thanks to Adrenaline makes perfect sense.
-
The issue most people had with UW was that it was basically just a free way to find a survivor. I think now that the activation window is shorter and the cooldown is longer that it balances out. It also can't be used by Pig players to camp boxes anymore, so I'm more than fine with those changes.

I believe it is the entire 15 seconds. It seems stronger in my opinion in its current form. It also just seems like an exceptionally stronger version of darkness revealed which idk...Id rather not have two identical perks where one is just stronger.
Darkness Revealed gets survivors across the map, and the cooldown is about half of UltWeapons now. I think this actually makes running both a pretty nasty combination.
-
The speed boost change is kinda unnecessary imo, but the other two are perfect changes imo
Overall, I'm fine with this.
-
If you get caught out in a dead zone it's not very good with the three second stun time. Tbh, I think perk would be fine with 5 sec stun again and it's current activation conditions.

I mean sure you can say that but realistically who’s playing weaker killers anyway there’s no variety between the killers you run into as survivor either
The stats kinda disprove this don't they? Nurse and Blight might be among the top played, but so is Ghostface and Wraith. Generally speaking, people play the killers they like, regardless of balance. Unless it's a killer so bad they're literally infeasible at high MMR (almost actually just typed ranks in 2024 lmao), like Trapper or Myers no tombstone.

He is also the ONLY killer who can hit through walls and do damage(Doctor can only make your character more crazy through walls and the only other killer who can even interact (outside of technically Artist and if you are good, Pinhead) through walls). And while Artist technically CAN hit through walls, she either has to stack crows(when at range) or be at a rather close range(for an actual hit). As for Unknown, the fact that they get to the other side of the map in an instant (which no other killer comes close to outside of Nightfall state Dredge) and basically for sure wins chases unless they are really bad at the game. As a note, out of the FOUR matches I had against Unknown, only ONE match resulted in all four survivors getting out(they got greedy trying to stop me from escaping and I broke free as a result(which I found out that they had Hubris as a result of), two matches were COMPLETE stomps and the fourth we ended up at a hatch match real quick and thankfully had one get out as a result. As someone who rarely plays killer, even I think I could easily win a match with Unknown and that's saying something. Anyone who thinks that he is D teir is VERY wrong honestly. D teir implys that the survivors basically have to throw to lose against the killer and only Legion and Doctor meet that imo given how easy it is to counter their powers(being spread out with Legion and running Calm Spirit against Doctor). As for Unknown, he is at least B+ to me.
Mostly unrelated to the point but we can't be discussing wallbangs without mentioning the boy PH. Unknown merely adopted the dark, Pyramid Head was born in it, molded by it.

I suspect the changes will be: -
- No longer wakes up from the Dream World
- No longer recovers a health state when on hook or when being carried.
Personally I'm also hoping it gets moved tangentially to be more interesting for builds, instead of a boring generic 5s haste boost you can slap into literally any build.
I've said it numerous times before, so I won't labour on it but:
- gain a health state.
- recover from exhaustion.
Let me choose the form my Adrenaline takes. Means I can get another Sprint Burst, or Lithe, or Overcome, or Balanced Landing, or if I'm an absolute nutcase, a Head On. I can even take 2 of them if I wanted...
Actually allows me to think around other perks and come up with my own ideas how and more importantly WHEN to use my Adrenaline sprint, and depending on my build choices, still requires skill on my part to trigger my exhaustion perk.
Sounds diabolical! Me and the other five Smash Hit players would get a big kick out of it.

It’s going to be something significant and to think otherwise is naive. If the devs were just going to remove that the perk wakes survivors from the Dream State, they wouldn’t add the perk to the roadmap. That’s such an insignificant blip it could be included in a hotfix. Certainly not important enough (if this were in fact the only change) for the roadmap... where big features & changes are announced.
Was it really necessary to start the reply by implying I'm naive? Especially since you just blew over the actual point of the post being that a lot of people just jump to the conclusion it's going to be turbo nerfed or overturned like new huntress without having any real information.
Again, it doesn't matter if the change is going to be significant. We shouldn't be jumping to conclusions about its viability based off seeing the perks name on the roadmap.
-
High B to Mid A Tier. Idk how anyone can think a 115 Ranged Killer with a TP is bad, especially when they can wallbang and their power is designed in a way that it somewhat thrives on indoor maps.
-
Mcote had an interview a few months ago where he said the license holders of Halloween don't really understand video games, and he mentioned the companies had "an understanding" so I wouldn't get my hopes up. It would def be cool though! Maybe Michael could finally get his 2018 and Kills designs as skins too
-
This discussion leads nowhere. Yes, both sides have counters to strategies that they won't or don't often bring into matches. Yes, people will suggest that you somehow have the foresight to bring the exact counter to the perk they may or may not have. No, those arguments don't make any sense.
Pulling an Us vs Them as if to say "How do you like it?" on survivors isn't fixing anything, cause trust me, they hear the same thing from us about all the surv perks you brought up in this post.
-
Got accused of Tunneling a player I hadn't seen out of a game to explain why they DC'd, good times.
-
Hallucinations are a lot easier to surprise people with. You don't lose Weakness nearly as easy. Hitting people through walls can be diabolical. I think Unknown is one of the best killers in the game currently imo not cause he's OP, but because he's good on pretty much every map.
Even RPD and GoJ are alright with the right strat.

Singu is fine. Just because a character is niche doesn't mean it's bad
Fine doesn't mean he can't be better. Larry is niche for a reason, and a few tweaks could really change that for a lot of people.
-
I think they might be trying to adjust him to be more popular for a lot of players, which might take a bit more than the number changes they did for Pig and co.
That said, Larry needs the love, pls BHVR🥺
-
The tail is less than half that length and it's a power he can actively be knocked out of.
Idk how you can think she's the most broken killer in the game when Nurse and Blight can cover half the map before most players have time to hit the DC button.
-
It's a one time effect that only unlocks after you've completed all five gens, it makes sense that it's strong. Nobody questions why you can Mori survivors with Devour Hope at 5 stacks, idk why this is somehow different.
That said, remove the effect it has where it wakes you up against Freddy. Cause literally why

Nurse. I feel like the time to end matches is too long for her, usually it's about 2 minutes and I think it should be shortened. Her blink should be map wide and she should have 7 blinks again.
She also needs basic attack on her M2 again and maybe even a button to push to end the game if she gets too stressed.
On a serious note, Dredge. Get rid of that weird directional woosh noise he plays for no reason, give him a couple Basekit addons, and he'll be good to go imo
-
It's one of the best slowdown perks in the game, and is like the only reason Trapper is somewhat playable at high MMR. It's fine imo

True and they have those diff in pov and power. The killer is meant to be the power role which I believe they have with how strong the killer anti loop has become. No system should be hard countered by any other. Making it easy for the killer to know the survivors intent and hard counter it before the match had even started is detrimental to one side
I disagree, how is a killer meant to be a power role if the game doesn't place the power in their hands? A killer who doesn't know there's four toolboxes in a match from what's clearly a high level SWF isn't going to feel very powerful if they can't adapt to information they don't have and still think there's three solo q gamers opening chests. Same with Flashlights and Med Kits.
Not to mention, survivor teams can find out who the killer is at first chase and if they brought any strong add-ons, meanwhile the killer has no idea what every survivor has perk/addon wise until they've met them all, and even then most add-ons don't really have a tell they're in use.
If we're being fair here and changing the game accordingly, neither side would know who or what is coming from the other team, until the first chase where every single player in the match is immediately alerted to what the other side has brought through the form of notifications.
If that sounds stupid, it's cause it is. DBD isn't fair, it never has been. Prioritize fun and game breaking issues over menial balance changes for the sake of a philosophy that doesn't even wholly apply to the game.
-
This is an Asymmetrical Multiplayer game, it's two sides need to have differences because they don't play the game the same way.
-
I don't think it's a bug worth kill switching tbh, and that's coming from someone who got stomped by a Backpack Oni a few hours ago. It's not the kind of bug that happens very often if the killer isn't going for it.

Ig it's just my perspective cause that honestly sounds hilarious to me. Imagine being in a Solo Q Squad watching a Feng with Deadline + Autodidact get matched with a Skillcheck Doctor

This won’t happen because it’ll cause survivors to lobby dodge as much as killers do, if not more.
I'm sorry but if there's a survivor out there who'd lobby dodge at a perk build I'm not sure I'd want to be matched up with them in the first place.
Unless the perks in question are Weaving Spiders/No Mither, those two can rot.
-
Yeah, lately I've been seeing Sable's run into basement mid chase without realizing how obvious their play is. One game I put Knockout on to see how long it would take for a team to notice, I honestly felt so bad afterwards that I haven't tried it again.

Personally I’m not a fan of turning his torment power into m2 no damage and then damage
torment on M2 attacks imo is just in a very strange spot ever since they tested it on the end transmission PTB
and most ideas don’t address what’s the actual problem with torment on M2 attacks
ALTHO I like your idea about the fog world thing with how the SH chapter when it first came out it had no real elements of silent hill except the other world version of midwich
Very fair concern, I favor Torment being on the wave as it ensures PH will always be playing in a way that leads back to Torment, as PotD is just outright damage that most PH players focus on because it's simply better than trying to get survivors to step on Trails. However, third health starts tend not to be my favorite design in most cases, so I definitely get your reluctance towards the idea!
-
Unknown and Singularity are a little different imo
Singularities EMP's make his camera's useless for anything but info, which isn't that useful in three gen situations. That said, 3 Genning Singularity was still pretty stupid before the regression cap.
Unknown can only have a few hallucinations out and each tp gets a cool down so survs can dispel them with ease afterwards. He's fine imo, even with snipes, as he has a pretty long cool down and can't pressure all three gens at once.

@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
In a world where there can trigger 4 Adrenalins with Hope together at end game, NOED is pretty fair perk.
This change would be awfull and make the perk worthless.
That build requires 8 out of the 16 potential survivor perks compared to the 1 out of 4 for killer. This means that whereas a killer can tack this on an empty perk slot like it's nothing, every single survivor has to sacrifice half their potential options for an effect that also gets countered by NoED since it instadowns. If the killer were to even the odds with a second endgame perk, like Blood Warden or Batteries, then the speed / time gap is lessened a ton, although I'd still give the survivors the edge in this scenario.
That said, I agree that this proposed change isn't great. It'd either be ignored entirely, or the solo q group would half commit, waste time getting two meaningless totems, and then the final gen would pop and the perk activates anyway. The level of coordination it'd take from a team to find and break all five dull totems is way too much slowdown for a perk with an already good effect.

It's a tough one for killer, as its got good genspread and loops for survs, as well as a pretty nutty main building if players know how to loop it. It's probs the most survivor sided map in the game. I myself just got out of a match where I lost three gens with no hooks but managed to snag a 2k with Blood Warden, which is about the best I could've asked for as a wraith.
-
Doesn't this only happen if Oni is running Mad Grit? Better to killswitch the perk than the killer imo
-
There was a lot of misinformation around Unknown's back story on Twitter that claimed it was a trans woman and was basically fulfilling a really harmful stereotype around the group. A bunch of grifters and few journalism sites hopped on it, and things got so bad even the VA thought it was true for a minute.
Things are mostly resolved now. The issue has been cleared up, the cosmetics are staying, and BHVR is going to be closely monitoring for anyone trying to do the bullying they were before.
-
I'm fine with the small little dips like on Crows but too much ground elevation could really screw a few killers over for no reason. If BHVR could alter the killers so that stuff like Artist's strikes could path up and down the ground and whatnot this wouldn't be an issue, and in that case I'm more than fine with more of these.
-
I agree for the most part with a lot of this, but to give Wesker a bottom placement for being who he is rubs me the wrong way. Sure, DBD tends to theme itself around a horror game, but it hasn't been afraid to mix it up at numerous points in it's history. Chucky is meant to be a comedic killer, do his voiclines sideline his music as they happen in and out of chase?
DBD is as much a horror action game to a lot of people now as RE5 was, DBD leaning into that angle of its identity shouldn't be punished imo. I love the monsters of our cast that give the game it's core atmosphere, but I'm more than okay with switching things up from time to time for some sillies.

Can we please keep this post at the top for awhile? It's such a small thing, but really? I'm all for better map learning tools for beginners, but the earlier maps were fine already and it's really immersion breaking. It was fine for the RE maps because those were straight from the RE remakes, but the rest simply don't fit the vibe. I liked the vaults being specific to maps.

Bruh, No Manual Reload? There's like 7 Seconds of Cooldown between each shot. Good Survivors can just stare him down so Weakness can go away in like 9 seconds. You have like 2 Seconds window hitting Good Survivors. You also can't control where you place his Hallucinations.
You also can't just go M2 every game, unlike the actual A tier Killers. He's low B tier.
Seven seconds on Unknown, how long is the reload you have to commit on Slinger? Unknown can fire and jump straight back into it, Slinger, Clown, Huntress, and Trickster can all get caught out without ammo. If that's happening to Unknown you have seven seconds before he shoots again. Ironically, this means he actually is one of the characters you can do mostly M2 with without issue.
Also, just to clarify, Unknown not having a manual reload isn't an opinion. He starts reloading automatically, so idk why you say "No manual reload?" like that isn't an objective fact. You're allowed to think that's not enough to make him good, but you can't deny it's a bonus he has over the rest of the cast.
-
He's a 115% ranged killer with no manual reload and a near instant teleport he can manipulate to place wherever he wants. You will never convince the killer nor survivor in me that he's anything lower than A.
-
@Yharwick said:
Why do we need a perk that does this?
There's already so many killers that can injure over dropped pallets, yes m1 killers struggle with that but not every killer can be high tier and they excel in other areas.
Freddy and Trapper do not excel in other areas, it's why they trade spots for worst killer in the game for a lot of people. The only thing I can really say they're both good at is that weird Gate tech that can kill survivors using the endgame timer. Otherwise, Trapper gets the best basement camping in the game and Freddy gets screwed.
That aside, yeah, I agree we don't really need a perk for this.
-
Nemesis does have voice lines, he says "S.T.A.R.S" if he moris Chris or Jill.
That aside, yes please! I'd like it if more characters got speak, as it feels kind of strange that only some can.
-
Maybe if you could buff just one of your perks to tier 4 for each match. It'd be neat to inspire centering builds around a specific perk, and could vary up samey builds at least a little bit.
Still, definitely not necessary, and I'm with the other users that would rather not have perk tiers period. If I have to regain all these perks for every new character, do I really have to do it twice per Teachable and three times for the General Perks? Especially since I then have to level that killers perk on all my others too. It's just needless.
