Really is a double edged sword. If the devs get rid of second story hooks, survivors can go back to using Boil Over for cheese strats. Keep the hooks, and killers can take advantage of positioning of these hooks for unpunished camping where they otherwise would be.
-
I feel like if you just asked for more language options you'd be making a far more agreeable point. Dracula at this point is pretty far removed from his traditional folklore, especially this version, so I and others are confused as to why those two things need to come together.
That said, DBD is popular, and more language options lets it become more popular. It may very well be in the devs interest to include more languages in the base game.
-
Either that or maybe a limit of like 20 comments before a discussion can be posted could alleviate the issue.
-
I think Batman or maybe Venom would be the best option depending on the Publisher they'd want. Both have solid enough horror roots that get embraced relatively infrequently.
It wouldn't be my number 1 choice for a chapter, but after DnD? Anything is on the table.
-
I think so long as the IP has solid enough horror connections for the devs to work into the chapter, it'll be fine. Vecna's dungeon sold me on the DnD chapter, and Laura being from specifically the first survivor trilogy TR game that was very horror in nature gives me the reassurance the devs aren't just going to start adding John Wick or smt.
-
Slender, Predator, and F13 and I think I'm actually satisfied forever. There'd be other licenses to be hyped over, but after those my horror roster would be fully complete since FNAF is being added in August.
Genuinely, this game is a marvel.
-
Face camping is dead and basically all the big names are here except Jason, but a dark shadow wielding tools of torment threatens the balance of this community's sanity.
-
Like others have mentioned, the speedy return of the mode kinda dulls the pain of only getting three new killers, though I don't play any of them frequently aside from the odd Deathslinger match every now and then. Kinda sad about no Doctor, but there's always next time.
-
I guess I missed that part of the live stream. Massive shame, Freddy deserves so much more. I hope they've spent so long cooking because they have something to show for it, rather than getting another Twins situation.

why nerf killer's skill expression? killer optimizes ability → survivor ask for nerf for killer playing well. :(
I'm a killer main who used his experience playing as the killer to inform his opinion on said killer. I really like Drac, he's one of my new favorite characters and it was my optimization of his abilities, more specifically Bat Form, that leads me to conclude his speed in it could use a minor nerf due to how quickly it lets you catch up to survivors after a hit.
I don't visit this site nearly as much as I used to, and a big part of that is because of how often arguments devolve into "survivor/killer main crying" nonesense. I've been playing this game for over 8 years now, I've watched and played thousands of hours of both sides, even if I do favor Killer, and I doubt I'm the only person like this.
When I was a middle schooler and these arguments were over whether Moris should let a killer ignore hooks or Keys let survivors ignore gens, I was happy to participate. This is my first year of college, and for a community that spent sooooo much time complaining about the possibilities of children storming this game and its servers, I genuinely feel as if most of the people here aren't anymore mature than the average highschool sophomore.
Wanting a 0.2 or 0.4 percent nerf to Bat Move speed doesn't make me an entitled survivor main who wants killer skill expression removed, and I wish this community could grow past some of these obnoxious mindsets that keep us all bickering over something we're all passionate about.

He's leaning into needing a nerf imo, particularly changing to/from bat form seems way too fast right now. He definitely doesn't suck.
Consistent 4ks are still a pretty good result though.I agree with this. Playing Drac is a lot of fun but I can't help but feel bad for survivors who make a ton of distance only to immediately lose it after swapping to Bat form.
-
Can we add Chucky to this list too? Removed Manual Scamper as a whole to kill a playstyle that could've been 86'd by adding a 2 second delay between Manual Scamper and Slice and Dice. Annihilated half his add-ons in the process and the cooldown change makes him mostly reliant on his dash attack rather than encouraging trickery like before.

Yeah, solid take that man... as much as I like the franchise, it kinda went a bit cult/paranormal voodoo at that point... nothing really makes sense and things just kinda deus ex machina themselves in to keep the films going... it's been years since I've seen 8 and 9, but looking it up it was 9 where I remember just straight laughing out loud. Jason gets destroyed at the start, and after spending this whole film body hopping, trying to reunite his heart with his sisters dead body... he is reborn back in his old body (clothes, mask, even the injuries he had and all), and literally just pops out of the ground like a jack in the box. I bloody died laughing at how stupid it looked xD
I had fun... but christ I have to totally turn off my analytical brain during those films otherwise I start unavoidably picking them apart... Undying zombie of vengeance that keeps coming for people who disrupt his haunting grounds is such a simple concept that doesn't need any more around it... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Suffice to say, I don't really consider that point of the franchise a high spot... even if we enjoy the films and their jank, I believe very few would pick them as their favourite era for Ft13th and Jason...
Where do you fall as your favourite era, if you were to pick a Jason to be the "default"? Toss up for me is either between FvJ/Start of Jason X Jason vs. Part 4 Jason... mostly I like later Jason cause he looked cooler, but with the goofiness toned back down by those points... but I wouldn't be upset at old green dinner shirt Jason 😅
I think Part 4 is the best Jason design in terms of representing his human aspects while keeping him scary (the axe wound I think puts it over 3), but I don't think anything would be better than his Part 7 resurrection with the exposed spine and chains, that was peak.
Honestly though, the MKX and Multiversus collabs make me think we'll get a design emulating FvJ, which I wouldn't complain about either. The brown coat and simple shirt seems to have evolved into his defining look.
I'm most excited about a potential power tbh. I think it'd be neat if he had a rage meter that filled up over the match, sort of like a naturally charging Myers tier up system that moves him gradually from a stealth killer to pallet destroyer.

The only power that really bugged me from F13 is his shift ability… I understand why it was needed form a gameplay point of view, but the ability to teleport was never presented as an ability Jason actually has in any of the films. Like Myers its more presented as a uncanny ability to predict victim movements and sneak around perfectly.
Part 8 had some pretty suspect moments. I know there was a full game theory that proved every instance of supposed teleportation was within human range of movement, or could potentially be chalked up to hallucinations, but the way the movie intentionally frames a lot of its scenes really feels like they intended the character to have the ability.
He was also turned back into his kid self by sewage in that one, so there was definitely something funky going on there. Which tbf, it isn't like perception of Jason's abilities has ever been concrete. The director of 9 even made that film with the idea Jason was a deadite resurrected by Pamela after he drowned.
-
Honestly, with games like Castlevania on the table, I'd be down for a cosmetic collection or chapter sometime down the line. Not really a standout licence, but they're solid games.
-
I'm betting we'll get something of a mashup between game and movie Mike, since he's the theorized or confirmed protagonist of the six main games. I don't really see what Phone Guy has that makes him a more appealing as a choice, and the inclusion would kinda be a meme, but I'd still be hyped af if they chose him.
Honestly though, the FNAF chapter could just be a piece of burnt toast and I'd still lose my mind.
-
As a Chucky main, I'd take a nerf of his power cooldown by like 2-3 seconds if it meant they gave him Window Scamper back. He'd still get power back fast enough for it be one of the better chase powers, but his design would encourage taking advantage of stealth more instead of solely relying on Slice and Dice.
As for add-ons, rework a few of the ones made useless after the scamper changes, and give Rat Poison a new effect. That's all I can really think of without getting specific.
-
Bedsheet Dredge and Trenchcoat Unknown are some instant buys if they get added; the fanart in this community never disappoints!
-
Not a bad idea, but there's some kinks to iron out. Does it change anything about maps that are already night? Turning day maps to night sounds cool for Dead Dawg, Coldwind, Crows, but I couldn't really imagine something like Haddonfield being turned to day, for example. Maybe it could have a secondary effect that triggers if the map is already set at night.
-
I've been given a lot of pets over the last couple weeks, to the point I'm beginning to wonder if this is the true power of Wolf form. It's nice to have a newer killer people aren't facing as seriously, it and the new iri addon have given me a lot of fun games :3
-
Situationally speaking, Huntress can struggle on certain indoor maps and faces the regular pitfalls of being a 110% speed killer without no movement abilities, but honestly, I still think she was kinda fine with 5 hatchets. I've simply never struggled with her, and I haven't met many survivors who'd call facing a good Huntress easy. She's just fine where she is imo
-
The Entity's realm is and always has been based around horror, both mimicking the style and overall setting of a cosmic horror, and mixing it with the type of affairs you'd see in the average slasher. While there is a lot of variability to this concept, I really struggle to see how a 6v6 Shooter MOBA fits into it.
-
I think he's a lot of fun. His abilities can be poor man's versions of other killers, but their differences and the fact you can spam them all at the same time makes for some really interesting encounters. The Eye and Hand are also a great dynamic when they do show up. Overall, solid killer in my opinion. I'm glad the devs went for an out there licensed killer that was moreso tied to their specific interests.

I saw a really cool concept where he could use remnant to purchase abilities on a security tablet and some addons would change those abilities
No offense, but an ability like that would kinda be exactly what I'm talking about. Springtrap in his various forms throughout FNAF 3,6, UCN, Help Wanted, Security Breach never uses a security tablet, and remnant isn't actually in any of the FNAF games physically, it's just a background plot device mentioned a couple times that is expanded on and developed more in the books series. A power based around these abilities would be faithful to FNAF in concept, but not in execution imo. A Springtrap who suddenly pulls out a tablet mid chase wouldn't really feel right to me, regardless of whether he's canonically used one when building the Funtimes or in one of the books or something. Maybe a better way to put it would be to say that it isn't out of character for him to have one, but it wouldn't be right to make that his defining ability in game, if that makes sense.
In my opinion, a good Springtrap power would be one based around trying to adapt the literal aspects of FNAF gameplay through the DBD trial. That would likely involve a camera system, some sort of stealth ability so he could sneak up on people, and an instant down M2 so he could be a Ghostface/Myers sort of Jumpscare killer without actually having an ability called Jumpscare. There's a fair amount of fluidity in how the devs could achieve this concept, but I honestly don't think I've seen a single fan concept that hits close to the mark for me. As silly as it sounds, that kinda worries me as to how the actual chapter will go.
-
Tbh, my biggest hope is that Springtrap doesn't end up feeling like a lot of the generic FNAF concepts I see with Hallucination Discs or Fireaxes, things he either very sparcely uses in canon in minor ways or outright doesn't have. There's a lot of uniqueness that I think could be drawn from simply attempting to adapt elements of regular FNAF gameplay over the trials, although I'd rather give Springtrap a Bite ability than a generic Jumspcare.
The map will probably be the FNAF 1 Pizzeria, with I imagine the animatronics on stage and Foxy is in his cove. As for survivor, I really can't imagine it'll be anyone but Mike, since he's confirmed to be the protagonist of about 3 games (1,4, Sister Location) and implied to be the protagonist of 3 more (2,3, Pizzeria Sim). Vanessa isn't half as popular as a character and is generally part of the games more steadily marketed towards children, so I don't think she'll get a major role.

That one is Engineer’s Fang and no you can still tunnel immediately off hook with it.
Lame. It's an interesting addon but the only times I've ever ever seen it as a survivor is against Pinheads that are super glued to hook. It definitely belongs somewhere in the patch notes.
-
I'm optimistic they've got something big cooking. The Twins rework burned, but honestly I can't think of very many ways for them to navigate that general power set without ending up with a mess.
Freddy has a lot more routes to go down with possibilities, and his current powers, though lame, have a lot of simple elements that could be reworked to make him more interesting. I'm hoping we'll hear something about it within the next two months, but that's pure copium talking. Realistically, soon could mean a week to another year from now.
-
I don't really have a strong stance on this tbh. There are a lot of these that have been in the game so long that they honestly stopped feeling out of place to me. Space Billy back in the day was a lot of fun, and I was upset at that being removed at the time. Oni flicks are still around, and I'll probably just stop playing him if those ever get removed tbh.
It isn't really unexpected to see Wolftech go though, it looks pretty goofy and makes for a lot of really weird hits. It's fun, but frustrating to be on the other end of. I'm ultimately indifferent to its removal.
-
Did they change the Pin add-on that lets him damage survivors with chains but had the secondary effect of making tunneling off hook extremely easy? If not, I hope it's in the changelist.
That aside, I honestly think Pinhead is basically perfect as is. Chains are hard to hit but rewarding, and the box creates a unique match dynamic not really found on any other killer. He doesn't really struggle to keep up the way other members of the cast do, in my experience. Not the strongest killers, but he's certainly not the weakest.
If I were to suggest anything else, maybe just some QoL on chain aiming. I'm a bit of a noob with him, but indoor maps can be a real pain with verticality in my experience.
-
I think BHVR might have stopped making them for fear of confusing new players. The spotlights are peak DBD vibe, but so much of the information conveyed in them is now altered or outright absent/reworked. Although BHVR still isn't great at conveying information, chapter spotlights tended to get outdated so fast that it makes sense they would refocus their efforts in other areas.
Still a shame though, I was definitely looking forward to the Castlevania and FNAF spotlights :(
-
I think people are too caught up in the potential ethics of this video game bug. Wolf Hug Tech is the same as all the other unintended techs in the game imo; If the devs remove it, that's fine, it's not like it was meant to be there in the first place. If the devs don't remove, then it's just sorta part of the killers kit. I've been downed a lot by Demogorgons surprising me with Slide tech Shreds, but I wouldn't say they're exploiting anything.
-
Was on a team with a Solo Q legend who did this the other day. Looped Trapper all game and got accused of cheating at the end, but it was rather obvious what had happened. I've ran it a couple times and gotten decent value, I just need to meet a killer running Franklin Weave or a 4 aura Huntress or smt

I wish we got netflix's trevor and sypha as legendaries.
I'm holding out hope it'll happen sometime down the pipeline. It doesn't seem like Netflix and Bhvr have the best relationship right now, with basically every license going on sale except Stranger Things, but who knows? I'd buy a Netflix Trevor skin in a heartbeat, doubly so if it changed his VA
-
I honestly wish they held Alucard back for a sequel chapter. Death as killer, an actual map, and Alucard as the new survivor with some vamp perks? I'd be so down. As of right now, it's kinda lame that the strongest survivor in the realm (I know Alan, Cheryl, Ash, are stronger but they're still just people) gets absolutely no perks when he's quite literally one of if not the only vampire survivor we'll ever get.
As for whether Alucard should've been a killer, it's just not who he is. Yes, the Entity corrupts it denizens and can force them into servitude, but given that this is a licensed chapter, it's better to keep characters as close to their original counterparts as possible, and Alucard is a hero through and through, protecting the innocent and managing to assist in stopping Dracula more than any other character in the series. It's more important that we get his personality than his powers imo, so his role as a survivor makes sense.
-
Old wiggling was fun when you were popping off as a survivor and could spam the keys at the speed of light, but aside from that it could really be a chore. If I remember correctly, this was also about the time they swapped spamming Spacebar on second stage hook for simple skill checks, and I would never ever want that change reverted.
As for Bloodlust, I usually tend to see that procc on killers like Trapper and Freddy and whatnot, instead of Blight and Nurse, so I don't see why a blanket killer nerf that would mostly hurt the weaker members of the cast is a good idea.
-
I think what worked about Nic Cage was that his persona is both goofy and larger than life, and his career includes a lot of well known horror films. There are very few actors who fit that bill aside him, so I'm not sure I'd particularly want more celebrities to be added tbh.
-
He feels nice in that you have access to so many different tools at a time. It does kinda feel like he got toned down versions of a few killer powers, but I'd say Bat form is unique enough to be its own thing and Wolf form's different characteristics and scent orbs mean he feels quite different from Wesker despite the similar dash, plus breaking pallets Basekit with it.
I think people are starting to realize that with current release cycle, a lot of new content goes over safe ideas established by other chapters instead of treading new ground. To be honest, I'm just happy Dracula is both a faithful vampire and faithful to his game counterpart. He's a fun killer to face and to play as imo
-
The lore accurate Nemi's never left, they've just been waiting.
-
Encountered a couple bugs, but overall having a lot of fun interacting survivors and getting to finally become the Dbdog!
I hope they double dip Castlevania eventually, there's a lot they could still pull from. W inclusion!
-
The Fog is one of DBD's most recurring characteristics. I've seen a lot of people saying the most recent licences are killing the games identity, but I'd argue changes like this are far worse. It just doesn't feel the same without it.
-
I think it's a great change tbh. Whenever I see a survivor hit second stage or die because of the timer, it's usually because of Solo Q uncoordination or active meddling from the killers part that I don't think should be encouraged aside from a couple context dependent instances.
The extra 10 seconds isn't groundbreaking, but it lessens an annoying scenario as survivor without really changing strategy or gameplay on the killer side of things.
-
I've killed a couple, but she's kinda rare yeah. That's kinda the case with a lot of the skin survs. Since Ripley already isn't a very popular survivor (missing likeness probably being the reason), I imagine there aren't a lot of people looking to drop 15$ on her.

The FNAF chapter? Or the dragula cosmetics?
Edit: really should've thought of this comment more before posting.
-
I like head pops being rare, it gives the traps a solidly a unique role as a slowdown ability and makes those kills you do get with them all the more satisfying.
-
I don't understand why they didn't just give a brief delay when you can start Slice and Dicing after a manual scamper. It could've been like a second or a second and a half and would've killed the strat whilst leaving both abilities basically untouched. After the changes half his add-ons got gutted beyond useability, and even worse, they stopped being fun.
Window Scamper being removed is still extremely annoying to me. It's whole point is that it doesn't play a vault noise like his regular vault does, implying it's meant to be used for stealth. If that's the case, why is it that it can now only be activated while Chucky/Tiff are screaming their lungs out? It just doesn't make sense. That combined with the circumstances surrounding its removal just feel like this whole aspect of his character got overlooked post rework. Scamper and Chucky's deception based tactics as a whole were disincentivised from use.
The changes, though eliminating an annoying strat, made Chucky a lot less fun and much more one note imo. He feels like he's designed to basically always be using Slice and Dice, which is a far cry from his original deception based concept. Yes, Scamper into Slice and Dice needed to go, but Chucky's unique gameplay identity didn't need to go with it.

'The solution is easy aka after five minutes the killer gets a guaranteed 4k.' That's all these suggestions are.
There's a reason why they have not done anything yet. Its extremely hard to make a tie-breaker that's not grossly favoring one side or the other, it would require reworking fundamental win-conditions of the game which takes time and effort that's probably not worth it right now.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3783243#Comment_3783243
You won so hard that you managed to lose half the team with no clues at all, if anything the survivors left should be rewarded for being that good at stealth.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3783195#Comment_3783195
Hatch spawning at two survivors would feel awful for the killer, that's not a solution either.
The frustration of what? Not being given a 4k? How do you think the survivors feel after literally giving the killer a free kill and then being slugged until they bleed out because its not enough?
I honestly feel as if I've been extremely clear I don't like slugging as a strat and that my frustration lies with not being able to find survivors for long periods of time, prolonging games far past the point they should be. Fine, Hatch spawning at two survs doesn't work, find another solution. I don't know what more you want me to say.

but the 25 minute wait is intrinsically linked to the fact that that game has become unmanageable at 2v1 and so many killers slug for the 4K (which whether we want to admit it or not is a massive issue). Everything is linked, it’s not one sided. So if killers are bored of the 25 minute hunt they need to accept the game needs to change and not entirely in their favour as many seem to want.
Right, but the person I was replying to said this is just about OP and Killers wanting free 4ks, which isn't true in this context, we just want the game to end and hiding prolongs that.
As I said in my original comment, if hatch spawned at 2 survs after a certain time so one of the them could get out, and then standard Egc occurs after that surv escapes, I'm just fine with that as a potential change, regardless of if it means survivors get out more often, because it means the game would end faster by virtue of people not hiding. Make changes to slugging as well, I hate that about as much.
I understand these gameplay mechanics are linked, my point is simply that a killer's stance on this issue shouldn't be boiled down to 'I want 4ks' when to me it's more 'I don't want to wait 25 mins just so one of you can maybe get hatch.'
-

I like how the OP and others can't just admit that they want a guaranteed 4k in a 2v1.
I think it's less about the 4ks and more about the 25 mins OP reported looking for people.
As a killer player, yes I like 4ks, but at that point in the match I'd be just fine if hatch spawned early just so the game can end at that point. It isn't always about winning, sometimes I make plans that involve a match not taking 20 minutes, or I just wanna grab a sandwich or smt.
I wouldn't have slugged the players for vengeance or anything, but I understand the frustration.
-
The old graphics were nice, but beginning to feel extremely outdated in comparisons to other releases at the time, and if Realm Beyond hadn't happened, I imagine we'd be seeing a lot of comparisons to stuff like RE2 and RE3makes characters, who mostly look just fine with the modern graphics. Considering there are still a lot of complaints about how some characters look now (for good reason), I honestly struggle to imagine a world where the graphics never did update.
That leaves the tragic reality that classic DBD's atmosphere was lost, which in my opinion came not really from how much fidelity the map had, but aspects like its lighting and tone. In this way I do agree that Realm Beyond took some steps backward, and I would definitely be fine if some maps were to receive aesthetic changes meant to emulate the older maps more. But overall, I would think that the modern graphics actually makes the game more appealing and therefore more accessible to more players, so its effect on the community I'd say was positive.

She's dead though, long before Afton became Springtrap.
Unless you mean bring her as a survivor in one of her animatronic forms, when can the Entity interject to grab both of them?
EDIT: Mind you, upon a further look, I don't know the novels at all... and it seems to throw everything out of whack 😶😶😶😶
Without going into spoiler territory, the books are a separate continuity with a few key differences and a lot of similarities. They weren't the greatest imo, but Charlie was actually a pretty cool protag when she wasn't being sidelined by the plot.
I don't think that's the route the devs will go given the books are the least popular version of the story, but I could see it.
