I discovered this recently, but invocation should not be negated by gens being blocked. If I spend a minute in the basement and become broken the rest of the ENTIRE game and the killer gets their first hook and grim embrace activates…. it shouldn't just counter the entire invocation. that is incredibly silly

    Sounds like bug

How would ruin/huntress lullaby… work then, because when they only light up when a skill check appears it would be impossible to distroy them and when they switch totems after disappearing? Some might not even work this way: Haunted ground for example.

With this change, any additional totem on map would be additional life for hex

This sounds like old undying, which would be cool if they revert the nerf.

Ruin have its effect when any gen is regressing.

Huntress lullaby is working whenever any gen is repairing atm.

Devour hope gather tokens as perk, not hex and lights up with only for few seconds between killer hooking survivor and moving away from hook radius, untill with 3+ tokens, killer hit survivor with basic attack triggering expose, then hex lights up permanently.

Hunting grounds should be changed, it's trap hex so it could be changed to not be a hex anymore and instead works when first/any hex is clensed and/or if there are no hex perks, hunted grounds lights one, random totem.

Hexes would not be tied to specific totems but it does not means they would light up totally random, maybe they light one specific totem, and when it's cleaned it choose another totem.

If surv is clensing a hex, then it will not fade out unless surv pause clensing for more than 2s.

Cleansed hex is removed entirely from the game.

  • Totems should become hexes only when perk effect is in use, and should fade out whenever they are not used, and repeat.

Hexes should not be tied permanently to totems, tho could be clensed while totem is lit.

With this change, any additional totem on map would be additional life for hex, and idea of survivors bringing their own totems would be a good idea with pros and cons.

Tbf I do recall it being said the reason the entity couldn't take her there was because of the hope and positivity she possessed made her immune to the entities influence and that was why it started down a years long path to corrupt her to a point in which she would be able to be taken which I feel is so interesting esp with how her story played out vs the others

I haven't read Kate's lore (but now I feel I have to), but... Aren't those things... Emotions... Hope especially, the things that the Entity feeds on? I mean people might loose a fight with food that have too much vitamins, but the Entity is feeding on potentially infinite number of survivors at the same time, so I don't believe any single human could have so much positivity to fight the Entity.

  • IMO either all info swfs have should be available to all survs (killer position, healing progress, perk loadout, etc.), or swfs should be removed as option (which is not an option), and game should be balanced one way- either full or no info.

It's my opinion that SiS and IH are about where self heal perks should be, balance wise. Both are limited in terms of time, Inner Healing requiring a totem to be found and cleansed before being static in a locker and Strength in Shadows requiring you to run to the basement as well as being slower than default heal speed without Botany, and IH is limited in terms of uses, too.

With the right supporting perks, you can make both genuinely strong and reliable, but they'll always require something more from you than just starting to heal.

That's why I think this version of Pharmacy would work. It's meaningfully limited in terms of how many times you can use it, and has roughly comparable time investments to those other tools too. You wouldn't be able to use it to delete killer pressure on you as many times as you wanted, which was the problem with old healing, but it'd be more desirable than someone else healing you in a lot of scenarios, which is kind of required for a limited-use perk.

Problem is, that in most trials you should not need to heal more than 2 maybe 3 times, and if you do, then most likely you shouldn't because it's plague or legion. If 2-3 heals is enough for most trials, then IH and this suggestion of pharmacy can remove all needs for altruistic healing. There is also a scarcity of resources. IH allows for 5 heals, while there can be various from 3 to 12 chests on map, and I'm pretty sure that everyone taking this perk would love to increse number of chests at the same time.

Even so, I'm pretty sure what I'm pitching would be relatively balanced. You'd still have a timesink so it's not broken, but you get the efficiency of getting to repair generators for half of it, meaning it's good competition to things like medkits or SiS or Inner Healing.

It'd have to be tested, obviously, but I still think this is the best way to buff Pharmacy. Plus, even if a change did end up being necessary, I think the smarter choice would be to make the animation longer rather than the chest opening part take longer, that'd probably feel less obnoxious to the player while still representing a higher timesink overall.

I hear you. Tho Devs stated they want altruistic healing being main source of healing. Thus any other ways of being healed should be inferior to this.

Sis and IH are little op in my opinion, especially sis with botany knowledge tho this combo also boosts altruistic healing so maybe it's not that bad.

But because of that, we should compare time spend on getting healed by the perk to time needed for being healed by someone else. This is why I think those 15s are too fast. Making this between 20-30s would be more balanced. If this helps we can make countdown for this effect also while downed, so that surv can stand up if killer downs them before healed.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3754577#Comment_3754577

If we assume 10s of opening the chest, and 5s of animation, that'd be 31 seconds for a health state, surely?

10 for the chest, plus 5 for the animation is 15, but then you add the 16 seconds that the actual item takes after you've used it. It'd be like the Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe, it'd start a timer before it actually heals you. That's still better than someone else healing you, but it still requires trading away time to gain the extra efficiency.

You should not count this 16s delay since you can do whatever you want in this time, like doing gens. Which is main point of this. Doing gens is a moat important thing, because without this, you cannot succeed in trial. Each second you do other things is a trade off. But since you can do gens while delay, you can't count it as a price. Thus the time price is only chest opening and animation, plus variable of looking for a chest.

  • If we add 10s of oppening the chest and 5s of animation, its 15s for health state, compared to regular 16s of being healed by someone else is qiite ok, but then… you have to find this someone else, which takes time, and this thing gives you 15s self heal multiple times in a match. That why oppening chests should lasts longer, 30%-40% slower chest oppening gives 14-16s of chest +5s of animation and time to find a chest makes it more fair

  • With such item, perk should be 1 time use, or should reduce chest opening time by 40% (maybe 30% or something between).

Alternate version could be to increase self heal speed by medkits by 18%.

  • I have a question.

Does weave attunement warns survs it's in use?

Personally, I think that survs should know if killer is using aura perks.

Every perk should have some kind of counter play, and you cannot counter aura reading if you don't know there is aura reading, and it's the perk that should provide way to counter itself. Like hex perks counter is to cleanse a totem, and whenever hex is in play, survs know they should look for totems. This is great and I think because of that hex effects should be more powerful, even to the border of overpowered.

  • Techitian perk could get some buffs regardless. It could give -10% or -20% gen repair speed (or... with first skill check, add 10 points of total gen progress (opposite to BNP), only once per gen PER PERK) and remove great skill checks, but in exchange it can reduce noise of gen repairing, and remove all penalties from missed skill checks.

  • Idk if boon exponential isn't too much.

And I would like to see boon effect being extended. Like bonus movement while downed but outside boon radius and only towards boon radius

  • I would like to ask to not call perks being counter to killer perks/powers since there is no way survs can know what killer is and what perk is running so they can't prepare, and any perk counter will be either waste of perk slot or a luck, not deliberate choice.

The people who brought the cakes also get the bonus… This is such a non issue… You do realise that it does not matter if you get 400% now and later on 200% bp or 500% now? It is overall still the same amount and you will not be able to burn through all those cakes anyway… If you are offended by that stuff I really cannot help you, because that is absolutely nothing that is worthy of any change. Let people run whatever they want.

    Actually it's not true.

Person who kept his cake will get 400 bonus BP now, and 100 later meaning he will get 500 bonus BP in two games, it's like one game with 5 cakes and one game with no cakes, which is what you are trying to say.

But people who did brought cakes have no guarantee they will be playing with people who kept their cakes and are now using it, and it will be at least so many times they was one cake less during event, so they get 400 bonus BP during event and no BP bonus later since they can be matched with person who was using his cakes.

  • If killer have no terror radius for most of the time, it's hard to be in his terror radius.

And if I'm the only person who is doing gens, I should not be forced to interact with the killer even if teammates are on death hooks.

Emblems should be available for players playing the game not just for certain scenarios.

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3751711#Comment_3751711

The emblems only work towards BP every month, so I don't think it matters too much...

As for what the devs say, we'll they have weird ideas all the time, their status does not make it so they are unable to be wrong, it just leads to no change despite them being wrong.

I agree that devs often are wrong even towards their own game. But since they designed game this way, or more like - if they intended the game to be this way… then even if one feels its bad/boring/needs change, game is still intended to be that way.
Thats why i dont blame killers who camp and tunnel me, i blame BHVR that they allow for that.
Same is applied here - stealth my be bad for the game, but its designed by devs, so players may use it, and if devs decided that pleyers may use it, then emblems could take it into account.

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3751689#Comment_3751689

Well I would argue that bad perk design is a thing, perks can be unhealthy on many levels...

True. But iirc Devs stated that stealthy playstyle is and should be one of valid gameplays. Just like valid technique is camping and slugging, which are actually more harmful than stealth.

But either way, stealth is valid way to play a game, unless until BHVR decide otherwise.

And if Devs wants stealth being valid, then maybe evader emblem would really benefit from being stealthy

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/419105/evader-emblem-progress-needs-to-change

Nope, I don't think stealthy playstyle should be encouraged like that, it is just the most boring experience ever as killer to have to check for people hiding bushes and what not, especially given that tracking perks can be fully avoided with the right perk layout... Aimlessly wandering around the map without finding anybody because everybody runs distortion calm spirit is one of the worst experiences in the game.

Yet those perks exist for a reason. Isn't this reason to not being found?

Players can also decide to not use an offering at all, either because the character does not have offerings, because they only got the prestige level through the prestige update some years ago or because they don't want to or just forgot to put one in, trying to read their intention just by that is really far fetched.

    1. Makes 0 sense... What do you even mean by that? People constantly run BP offerings, be it during the even or at other times... So why would you limit BP bonuses to others to only apply when they bring one themselves?
    2. They also give this additional bonus BP later on? Limiting it now is ridiculous, people can still use cakes later...
    3. In general, maybe not on that specific character... Still none of your business when they use a certain offering...
    4. Because they don't want to, their reasons are none of your business... Either they will never use it or they will use them eventually, either way there is really no reason to be so petty and stingy about it... Where is even the issue of other people getting bonus BP out of it?

This just feels like you are really jealous of people not bringing cakes "because they did not do their fair share for the BP bonus", which is utterly ridiculous... Where exactly is the issue? Why is there even a need for the change? All your reasonings go down to people who don't bring cakes don't deserve the bonus and that is just petty.

Issue is that they bring things that helps them in their own game and parasite on offerings other brought instead of caring just for themselves. If everyone would think the same, in each game we would have map, hatch and Mori offerings, and noone would get those BP. You got it because I brought the offering, and I feel cheated that you instead brought Mori to quicker finish the game, not only not contributing to bonus BP flow, but also ending game quicker, giving less BP additionally.

All other issues you said there are actually explained in the very same post you quoted... And since you are not even try to read with understanding I don't think any ways of explanation have sense. You just don't want to understand... And this is another reason why cake bonuses should be applied only to others who brought cakes. If one wants to be selfish, it's not a problem, nor my business, you are right. But make them at least not being parasites. Each one offering that is not a cake is actually -100% BP ona trial since cakes are so abundant. So at least make this +400% apply to only those who contributed for this 400%.

I bring moris every match I play as killer. They spice up the game allowing me to enjoy killer more. Survivors can disconnect in the loading screen and stop the match forcing all of us to go back to the lobby. It's a waste of time.

Survivors and killers should receive a disconnect penalty if they leave like this. They can bring offerings to sway the match and I don't leave. I do the same but they leave. Plus there are 4 of their offerings to my 1. It's a way to disrupt the game.

I was disconnected during loading due to my comp crashed (for some reason only on DBs) few times in a row. How can you decide if one disconnected because of offering, or had other problem?

Btw. You are not loosing offerings if someone disconnect during login

That is none of your business, let them use whatever they want... It is not like those cakes go to waste... Whenever they decide to use the cakes later people will still get the bonus BP then, so what is the issue??? You get hundreds of cakes during the event, you are never going to use them all until next year, so why are you being so petty about people not bringing cakes now? They can still use them later...

    Yes, exactly:

Player have cake + player is not using cake = player don't want BP from cake/player value something more than BP from cake.

    1. There is no guarantee others will bring cake, so not bringing it means potentially no additional BP, if one is willing to take this risk also means they do t want this additional BP.

    2. Additional cake give additional bonus BP, if one don't want this additional BP from one cake, means they don't want this additional BP. This one is quite straightforward.

    3. You get hundreds of cakes, which means it's not because they don't have those.

    4. You brought here another question. If one have so many cakes during event that they can't use them all before next event and another cakes (those are your words) then why not use it right now? There is no advantage of storing them since there is abundance of those.

Everyone wants bonus BP... This assumption is lackluster on so many levels and denying people bonus BP for that reason is ridiculous.

If one wants BP bonus, then why is not using cake?

And what is wrong with this assumption? Just saying "on so many" lvl contributes exactly nothing:

Player have cake + player is not using cake = player don't want BP from cake/player value something more than BP from cake.

Well we have different opinions on that for me it's just the main point getting lot of bp and have some fun. Bp grind is what addicted me to this game so I would play much less if I get barely any bp.

I still say not getting any bonus without cake would be too much penalty. Because people can forgot and some people want to bring old cakes and bloody streamers as well. Maybe those bringing selfiss cake should not get any... But just reducing the extra anniversary bonuses would be enough.

I suggested that mode requiring cake so because it is requirement you should be able to always play so free cake would help for example if someone happens to have zero bp. Your idea is fine as well but it would reduce grind so I don't think it will happen.

I don't think it would reduce grind, you still would need as much BP as you can get to prestige characters, but having cakes in shared inventory would help with using variety of characters instead of only those who already have cake

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3750285#Comment_3750285

With that reasoning why should you get BP from any offering that someone else brings in? This has to be one of the most petty view points ever... With that logic why should anyone get anything?

t's not the same. During anniversary one have more than enough cakes. It's not difficult to get one. I use almost exclusively auto pick in a bloodweb and there was not single instance of me not having cake. Exactly opposite is for streamers party and envelope, since those are rare, and you can get few from whole prestige. Cakes are much more common, you can have AT LEAST one in every other level of bloodweb.

But yes actually. If someone havnt brought any BP offering, even brown one, it's means they most likely (not sure) don't want additional BP, so maybe streamers party should works only for those who brought ANY BP offering?

But if someone havnt brought the cake during event, and in event mode, means they definitely don't want bonus BP from cake. Thus cake bonus should be applied and add for those who brought their cakes.

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3750065#Comment_3750065

But if they want to use those cakes other people will get the BP bonus? So where is the issue? They cannot "eat their cake alone" in that sense... And unlike a birthday party you are not obligated or you did not agree to bring a cake in the first place...

but if they dont want BP from cake, why should they get it?

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3750035#Comment_3750035

You participate by queuing up for the event... Not by bringing a cake... The requirement to participate is using that queue not using an event offering, that's just the neat little bonus you get. Like the goodie bag you get for going to a convention ;)

    Kinda, yes.

I do participate in a birthday party even if I did not brought any gift.

But imagine this scenario. Everyone was asked for something. All guests payed a little to buy cakes, gift, decorations, food and other. And everyone was tasked to do something. Some was decorating, some was cooking, some was doing other things, and five was tasked to bring those cakes. 5 smaller cakes but made that every guest can take a good bite of it. But one person did not delivered this cake because he was busy playing his games, he kept withdraw code so he can take this cake whenever he wants and eat it alone. This is how I feel seeing killer bringing Mori or map while all survs brought cakes.

Those people are playing their game. They will get all participation rewards - Tryks tricks, invitation abilities, event tome, anniversary cosmetics and bonus bloodpoints from cakes at the same time increasing their chances by using other offerings.

So maybe just don't give them cake if they don't want to share their own? They are welcome to play as they please, but if they value mori more than BP from cake, then why gives them those BP?

  • @Deathstroke said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3750024#Comment_3750024

Well if there would be no cakes bringing bp I would not play anniversary it's big reason why we celebrate it. If everyone would just think themself and bring puddlings and escape cake then what is the point?

    I disagree with that.

Cakes are great items especially to show your participation in the event, but are not the main point of it. I would participate in the anniversary without cakes, tho it would not be full experience. But because of that I think people who don't participate with the cake should not get bonus from cakes. It's like this one guy on a party who havnt brought anything but ate the most...

Someone said that anniversary mode should have cake requirement and give one cake free. But I think cakes should be shared between all player characters

  • If one want to participate in a party, they do participate (brings cake).

If one don't want to participate, they don't have to (brings maps, hatch, Mori).

But if one do not participate in a party, why should they get party rewards. It's like not participating in a wedding because one was more willing to play lol, but received wedding souvenirs and piece of cake

  • Trapoer should not get trapped in the first place :v

But if he do, then other killers should do to

  • I bought 3 survs and a killer to lvlup to prestige 3 during anniversary... There was not single instance of me NOT having a cake in a bloodweb to buy. And I really can't understand how one can't bring a cake... Especially if one is using map or mori

  • @VomitMommy said:

This seems as very annoying change for survivors. Overall huge nerf.

You are not making chests better, but mandatory instead. That's not a good idea.

I hear you... And totally understand.

    But maybe it's necessary change?

Right now, whole gameplay is to do gens, nothing else matters really, sometimes totems and/or hexes but chests are just waste of time, and items are abundant evwn higher tiers ones.

There is also a few perks that affect chests this way or another but are totally useless because of how useless chests are. At the moment chests are mechanic that could be entirely removed from the game, and only thing that would be affected are tome challanges, because even chest perks are used only because those challanges.

And items are overpowered, maybe it would be good to reduce their numbers, this would lead to some small buffs, even to medkits.

  • I have counter idea to show if killer is anonymous.

    Instead

Make all players hidden from eachother. Players might see no more than character others are playing (and items they have), but no names, no prestiges, nothing, before end of the match.

  • @Destaice said:

Anonymous mode does have legitimate uses but to be frank the majority of the time its just an excuse to be toxic. When I see my fellow survivors using the mode I immediately exit the lobby. That not people can't be rude while using their actual usernames. Rather the mode simply encourages the worst players in the game to be as awful as they want. Since they don't face any consequences for their awful behavior when nobody knows their username to remember them by.

Killers also like to use anonymous mode as an excuse to be rude to randoms, but you can't tell that until the game is over. And it would be preferable if you could just leave the lobby before ever being exposed to it.

It doesn't need to tell you their actual name or which killer they're playing. Something as simple as "anonymous killer" would suffice when the killer is in the lobby.

You know that you can disable or even ignore chat after game?

Btw. Topic was already discussed several times.

Maybe you should read your answer again. I see 2 min aura on over 80% of killer builds. Distortion is good and bad as we know, but isn't the answer.

I kinda agree. Killers on lower mmr do use aura reading perks since they cannot track survivors.
Of course there are some who just want to have more fun matches, not necessairly 3-4k.
But on higher mmr within competetive trials, killers use perks that slows game down, not aura reading.

Yes I would rather die at a gate with no progress than one that could've been opened 10 times before I got there. At least then I would know I never had a chance to begin with. Also you're wrong about probably dying at a 99% exit gate. Every single time I have died at a 99% exit gate was me having to open it and then dying 2-3 steps from the actual exit. Had I not had to open the gate myself those deaths would've never happened. As I said, there is no situation where leaving an exit gate at 99% is in any way beneficial to you or the team.

    Where was teammates then?

I, personally, have never such situation. Most of the time survivor who 99 gate, either opens it while another one is running, or takes hit while running surv opens gate, and all of us escapes. Only situations where I died because taping 99 gate to open with, was situations where rest of the team died for various reasons, and in most of those I would die either way due to collapse.

  • So you prefer to die at a 0% gate?

If you died at 99% gate, then you most probably would die either way.

But I don't know I'm neither killer nor survivor main

  • @TheLonelyHarlequin said:

So basically the perk says once the item is FULLY DEPLETED it gives the killer aura reading around it but I've noticed that the items don't need to be used at all for the killer to gain the aura reading. While playing against venca I saw he had the perk and was running Franklin's as well so I dropped my item but when I did I lost a distortion token, and when I went to pick up a drop item that was dropped from Franklin's it still had charges but it was also an active area for WEAVE ATTUNMENT.

My question is, does the item need to be fully depleted to activate the perk or not? Cause the perk description is wrong if so. And is not the perk is broken and need to be killed switched as it can be easily abused to give full map aura reading to the killer which in my eyes is the same as running wall hacks.

"The Auras of dropped Survivor Items are revealed to you, as well as the Auras of any Survivors within 12 metres of them"

This shows auras around any item, not only depleted ones.

I'd like to see all aura disabled for killer and all exhaustion perks for survivor as a temporary modifier… That would be interesting.

This may be a dumb question but…

Do these baiters (survivors who will walk a good amount of distance to hide, not do anything, not even help to unhook) really get banned or something? Does reporting them really does something? I'm glad DBD has some good amount of players now but at the same time, these players ruin the game by just baiting other survivors not carrying if the game will last for a long time. I've been on those games where I really still try to repair gens but then this other survivor does nothing. It's not fun. Add to that where the killer camps you at just the right amount of distance so that the anti camp doesn't trigger then tunnels you after unhooking…

First of all it's not anti -camping, it's anti-facecamp which means that by design it does very little in terms of players satisfaction.

Second - survivors are allowed to do what they want, exception is if they do nothing that progress the game. Tho if they touched gen at least once, then BHVR do nothing to them.

  • Dbd is horror game but that not means all characters have to be from horror franchises. Characters have to fit horror vibe of dbd.

Example - what horror movie/game is Dredge from? Give me a title.

Vecna as Lich is fitting horror vibe perfectly, and his backstory fits this better than backstory of doctor, Hag or Wesker.

  • What is important is not where character came from, but what character represents and how it fits.

Lich fits horror game even if came from DND.

Murderous mastermind fits horror theme even if came from teenage mutant ninja comic (shredder), turtles would not fit survivors tho.

I don't want to be pessimistic, but chances keep increasing to see things like Rick and Morty being chased by Ariana Grande. It was already embarrassing to see Nicolas Cage added, especially due to all the meta stuff involved in his character and the advertising surrounding him.

I'm not the type of person who cares about the lore of a PVP casual game but when the premise "killers from horror franchises chasing survivors" devolves into DnD literal who floating bald man chasing elves playing lute it gets silly.

Lots of people are gonna go "it was never a horror game" as they hypocritically cheer when an actual horror franchise icon like Alien is added (or when Behavior stops making inspired by manga killers and instead makes scary killers like The Unkown).

What's sadder is that not a single soul is gonna get interested in the game due to a DnD collab, people who like DnD like RPGs not asymmetrical chase games. There's a reason chapters like Resident Evil are a success and bring a lot of new players.

Anyone can be a survivor even you or me. I mean Dwight or Meg are not specifically horror themed... Is Kate more than this elf?

It's killers who matters. And Vecna fills this role. Even if you disagree that perfectly, he still fits better than skull merchant, trickster or even doctor. I would say that he fits horror vibe more than most current killer cast.

And it does not matter where he came from. Ghost face came from slasher... But it was ordinary world. Trickster came from nowhere since he is original character, same with Dredge. Even if Vecna would came from fantasy land of fairies and adventure times, he is still a genocidal maniac who's goal is to kill and make suffering.

Wheres the strawman? Not to mention none of yall even argued my actual point you just started defending Vecna to the core and ignored the actual point of the post. And im not ignoring it I'm just saying theres no horror theme to Vecna which there isn't. If hes horror does that mean when I play Skyrim and play as a necromancer Im playing a horror game now?

Your strawman is for example in this very post.

Noone is saying that just because in a game is a necromancer that means game is horror game. So no, just because you encountered necromancer in Skyrim does not means Skyrim is horror game. But, it's strawman since noone in this topic even suggested such thing (or I haven't seen it).

How? Lore and themeing plays large parts in what makes horror horror and even SMs map is pretty horror centric. Even then Vecna is again, just some wizard oh im sorry zombie wizard from a mystical fantasy game. Thats fine, but it doesn't make it horror nor does it make it even horror adjacent just because he's a zombie wizard.

So your point is "dnd is not horror then vecna and his dlc is not horror"?

Well no. Dnd is an RPG system, not one specific world, and one specific campaign or one specific story. There are horror stories with more terror and less horror, power fantasy games. Just because you don't know something does not means you are right.

Vecnas powers are colorful, just like SM or trickster outfit, but this does not means neither are horror.

Other points in this topic can be applied to killers like: SM, trickster, hag, spirit, blight, doctor, but those are considered horror characters, so I guess it's double standards, for example: why Hag, who is unskilled zombie wich that killed and eat bandits is horror character while skilled "zombie wizard" who performed genocide and gore unethical experiments is not? Because hags traps are black while vecnas skeletons purple? Then maybe it's not about character but his colours? This I could agree that would fit dbd better if his spells would be less colorful. But this does not means he is less horror themed.

Yet she STILL far outdoes Vecna in every way when it comes to horror. A rich billionaire who slaughters and hunts her competition using her own inventions vs a wizard who casts mystical spells and flies across the map. Oh but he can make neon purple skeletons that lightspeed shoot across the map so that justifies the horror element

    Wait...

Billionaire girl with fancy outfit and shiny mask, that kills people because she read manga her father made is more horror themed than undead wizard who was performing genocide, terror, created undead army, questionable experiments and eventually become terrifying, evil god?

O think your only complain here is that he is a wizard, and magic is not horror...

Well. It is. It's magic that brought evil dead which Ash originated. And more

  • Active fighting back the killer is a bad idea.

Lot of people already said why.

But ability to kill the killer is not as bad. Or rather banish it.

This would require some gameplay changes, some of them would not be as bad for the game.

Leave core loop mostly intact, only differences are:

    1. Survs cannot be killed during trial, hooks keeps them for X seconds and if noone saves them, they are removed from the hook by the Entity and put in random place at least 40m away from killer with endurance, with no pools of blood and lower noices untill performing conspicuous action. This process can repeat potentially indefinitely. (Mories makes surv becoming a ghost that can do nothing except moving but with no collision for Y seconds, with no ability to be saved).

    2. Game have timer (gen speed should be balanced as long as all perks). If survs will not repair gens and turn switches before time runs out, they are sacrificed. If they do, then killer is consumed by the Entity.

In the movie, a person dies with a single blow, but in DBD, a person can recover unharmed even if a hook pierces the chest. Does this conform to a horror movie? This is very fair considering that the cost of not dying in one hit is that the person loses the means to attack.

After all, this game is just a sideshow for the Entity. It's all about what she (that's what I call her) thinks.

Entity is most likely "them" - Devs, players, content creators, whole community are "The Entity"

  • Nemesis cannot be used since it kills only STARS and those who stand on this way.

Idk if Dracula dreams while resting in coffin. If so, then Freddy would be best.

Onryo and Spirit (which is also an Onryo curse) maybe are immortal and relentless but I'm not sure Dracula can be affected by them.

Pinhead is giving pleasure, so no, I think they would get along.

Piramidhead could expose Dracula and use his guilt against him. I'm pretty sure vampire have lot of guilt in him.

Hag with her hexes (honourable mention to wraith in his original lore for exactly the same reason).

Other on that I think Weaker/Singularity as other mentioned for developing strategy.

And some brute force: Trapper, Huntress, Knight.

And I would really love to see solo 1v1 Dracula Vs Dredge.

Because it is an asymmetrical pvp game?

And non of the other asymmetrical games that had this concept of survivor being able to fight back survived?

In today's gaming society it is easier than ever to find the most optimal strategy, due to information exchange on social media and in many of these games the "numbers role" found ways to completely incapacitate the "power role".

Evolve stage two died* not because monster could be killed, but because Devs do not care enough to make the game to earn for itself. VHS had different issues, but not that monster could be killed.

    * - it did not die fully. There is huge playerbase that still plays this game.
