The longer the 4 survivors are alive, the best for the survivor team.
Technically, the faster the game end, the best for survivor team.
Despite all 4 being alive. They may already use their perks (example for DS, Unbreakable, Lucky break...any perks that have limited use), already use their items, already use pallets, already have a few hook stage.
Survivors start the game being strongest, and rapidly drops their resources the longer the match is, even if no one dies. Killers keep the strength exactly the same throughout the match.
that too. in most cases.
but sometimes, the game swings back into the survivors hands if they take the time to reset, or the killer just ######### up somewhere.
sometimes the killer gets the advantage on a short game, and sometimes the survivors get the advantage on a longer game.
Killers keep the strength exactly the same throughout the match.
this depends on the killer. nemesis and myers being the obvious examples
-
To answer you, no. It is not bannable.
He is not required to hook anyone.
Something bannable would be if he stopped the game from progressing. Like body blocking all the survivors in a corner where they can't escape.

Um, no. How that usually ends is with the person I'm tunneling downed and 2-3 newly injured survivors who now can't risk bodyblocking me when I get to the hook, and if they don't immediately run off to heal, they might get downed and hooked somewhere, too (or just slugged to bleed out). God help them if I was running Forced Penance.
They accomplish nothing (because the survivor did not get away and never does), and they give me free slowdown by not doing gens and forcing themselves to heal.
Trying a stunt like that just once can very easily lose them the entire game, and if they're all constantly doing it the entire time I'm trying to tunnel someone out, it's a guaranteed win.
If you just let the person get tunneled, the game is a 3v1.
3v1 is harder for survivors than a 4v1.
It's simple math. Most times, some altruism is required for the best result.
The longer the 4 survivors are alive, the best for the survivor team.
No one can force you to not tunnel, usually.
But reseting the chase and bloodlust for the other survivor is sometimes enough to waste enough of your time
-
I'm fine with you playing however you want.
but to answer the question in the title. no. because you can never please everyone

I agree. When I'm tunneling a survivor, all of the other survivors should get off of gens and get themselves injured/downed trying to stop me. That'll show me!
the group escape rate would improve so... yes. it would.

It's not about you explaining us of how it's fair or unfair, but rather about you providing your thoughts onto the matter, regardless of the obvious or not obvious facts. It could be as simple as „Tunneling is very unfun for both sides, but many times necessary to ensure having a chance of getting back into the match. There's no need to tunnel if I supply myself with the necessary generator regression META perks, though.“, or as complicated as typing down an entire essay of over five hundreds words, explaining all your reasonings and describing various scenarios, such as some of the players pretending that tunneling is everything that they see as an unfun thing to encounter.
really don't see the point of repeating what someone else already said.
it's a strategy you can use.
sometimes you have to use it to catch up.
survivors don't ignore a 90%gen and go for a fresh one in name of "fairness", why should the killer have to ignore the death hook survivor and go for a fresh one?
it's just part of the game.
it doesn't have to be fun to be fair.
etc...
and I really have no reason to see tunneling as unfair.
unfun? depends on the person as the first reply showed, but I can actually see the point of it not being fun.
mean? sure.
unnecessary? ok.
but unfair? no.

Xeno already coccons people for the queen. Same deal really

Yes

no because newer players wouldnt have the perk or know about it
you know newer players isn't just people who installed the game 5 min ago right?

I'm perfectly with it

Was it supposed to make you stop playing wesker?

No, the only place I would have wanted a face hugger is either exactly where it is - a small Easter egg, or as part of a mori and I prefer the tongue jaws mori. Once on, a face hugger is practically impossible to remove without killing the victim, even with advanced medical facilities. It's kind of their thing. The idea of a survivor just yanking one off is ludicrous. The focus of the original movie (which the chapter is based around) was the alien hunting down the crew. The face hugger was just a brief catalyst.
No, as far as being on theme, they nailed it.
honestly, wouldn't even want it on a mori... just the chestbuster.
but we could see it dead on the ground during the mori... that would be fine

I would be annoyed if you could just rip one off

gonna be honest here... no one cares about haunted mansion.
specially when most players around the globe have never been to disneyworld or wherever the ride is.
disney has a lot of better licenses. sorry.

Because they are a big part of the film, also it gives survs another thing to do, instead of gen rushing, they are great with Onri, Pig, Plague, Hellraiser etc if a pod was placed and used as the Xeno's trap, the surv would get a face hugger and have to remove it, another objective. Also when was the last time I went against a pig? lol it's Wesker, Wesker and maybe another killer, then Wesker, variation is good.
Also when was the last time I went against a pig?
exactly. she ain't strong. and neither would the alien be if a thing like her traps was part of the alien's power.
this stuff that is part of the film, is in the map. not everything needs to be part of the killer power.
-
why do you want the eggs? the alien is already there. more xenos would just weaken it.
also the facehugger is in the map.
and you described pigs traps... do you want the alien to be as strong as pig?
-
Yeah... those should still exist. to get people to try new killers
-
can you time frame it?

Singularity really does feel like he has one of the worst effort to value ratios in the game, especially when you factor in how he only seems to be getting weaker overtime as more and more survivors learn how to counterplay him.

it is 99% gonna be today. in 46ish minutes
edit- on the teaser they said "more at 08/08" or something like that. that is usually the ptb

I'm doing the adept. otherwise I just hook.

It's funny how this is mentioned but people conveniently ignore Hens and other high level killer mains winning 104/113 games using no power, no slugging, no camping, and no tunneling. All with nothing but an M1. I guess people see what they want to see.
and you apparently ignore when they say these happen because of a skill gap between them and the survivors?
you get easy and hard games...
-
wanna bet on it?
-
as you said to me in another topic.
the devs reworked these perks. so they are fine
-
spirit is mostly sound based, not predicting. unless the sounds are bugged for her again... but then again, both her and nurse have safer strats to minimize any guessing
I find it fun to play against them when they aren't way better than me.
-
hope things work out
-
@Kaitsja said:
There wouldn't be any way to apply pressure. Tunneling and camping suck, but 3 gen strats are mostly fine. The core idea behind a 3-gen is that it has to be something survivors can break. Certain killer powers make it too easy to 3-gen, and that's a problem. All SM has to do is lock down the three gen with her drones and patrol that area, never really committing to chasing anyone.
in theory you can in fact break even that 3 gen.
just takes a very dedicated team to each be on a gen, leave when she comes and go back in asap. probably gonna take way too long regardless...

I like it thematically but, correct me if I’m wrong, the gist of this is Kruger is basically invisible and able to hit survivors while invisible. There’s a reason Wraith can’t do that. It would need some sort of counter other than a random other person doing a side quest to help you, or the killer injuring/hooking you.
he gotta make the survivor fall asleep first, if it works like old freedy, you have a chance to run before falling asleep
also, I would keep the clock to wake up.
-
I'm a simple girl.
they are either cool, hot or a mix of both.
I do not have the 1 survivor main...
-
if you have deliverance, go take a hook stage for someone else before everyone is dead.
at that point the game is already over. no reason to waste time.
because the killer, would just leave you to bleed out on the ground if you had a chance to make a run for it after escaping the hook

true; i don't necessarily mean that you have to "communicate" with others for the game to turn out perfect, i mean't as in having at least one player who knows how to play normally. i'll try this method, but it's still a bit awkward adding someone "out of nowhere" after a match for some reason
it's how I made dbd friends on ps4. and the predator one.

@Seraphor said:
I wouldn't mind if it got the Visionary treatment.
While active, when you drop a pallet or make a vault, the perk goes on cooldown for 16 seconds.
You can still make a mental note of where everything is when you can see it, but it's not 100% uptime and so it has an element of 'skill' to it.
literally only affects weaker players. why would you wanna make the perk bad for them?
-
I play on ps4. so no end game chat.
it happens very rarely when someone bothers sending a message on the ps4.

I don't play any other online games so I don't know but, how do they handle it?
Take for instance Fortnite. I know it's a totally different game and it's apple and oranges. But when it come to the causal experience vs those who want a more competitive experience how do they do it? I know that game attracts a lot of younger players who miost likely want a "causal experience" but I'm sure there are a number of people who play that are still very competitive who play a lot of shooter games.
in the case of fortnite. it's 100 players per match. they all have mixed skill levels. the matches are usually very quick.
no mater what, you'll do stuff and have some amount of fun with it.
I literally stole a win after a couple matches by happening to survive alone while everyone else killed each other.
I have no idea how people built as effectively or as fast and they did, but I can point a gun and shoot while jumping. and that was enough to play the game.
same applies for fallguys. just let the mini-games sort them out as they go. casuals who lost just go next, while the guys who learn all the mini-games usually win more consistently.
all of those games have people learning the better strategies and optimal ways of doing whatever.
fortnite having actual tournaments and stuff.
now for a fighting game for instance... if there was no mmr system, you would not be able to play online casually. including in casual. the disparity between someone who knows what they are doing and someone who doesn't is just too big.
and still exists even with mmr. it just eventually kinda works itself out.
but I don't really see people complaining that the online in fighting games is bad because the other players are too good sometimes. as a casual, it's expected that you need to learn your character "enough" in order to go online and not lose your entire health bar in 10 seconds.
I think that is the mentality we should have and promote in dbd. yeah you can just go online and play, nothing wrong with that, but you should expect you will likely get "combo'ed" to death if all you know is "jump kick".
-
I don't think you can really come home from a long day at work and play a couple of games on either role without the game being more trouble than it's worth.
that is exactly how I play. I have fun.
Don't feel like I have to sink 6 hours to have fun, just to speed up the bp progress

I´ve had this discussion a couple of times. Where people got accused of cheating/VPNing/lag switching etc. All because during the match, someone had a higher ping.
I´ve had teammates with a ping of 400, where everyone came from a different continent and no one used a VPN.
I´ve seen servers crash and in the next minutes people sended me profile messages about how i supposedly made them disconnect due to my high ping.
People are extremely fast when its about accusing someone, when something strange happens.
that is quite the tangent.
I didn't say anything about people getting falsely accused.

Its not clear what OP is refering to. It just sounds like everyone who is using a VPN, independently of the reason, is a cheater.
Which is a hard accusation to people that just want to play normally.
true. but if they mean people using a vpn to play on other servers, you agree that's an issue right?
