Everyone should start flooding the forums, I feel like this is probably the most vocal the community has been for years regarding game bugs and whatnot considering the fact the update released in the worst state an update has been released in for a long time (Bugs, performance issues, low effort "map", meh content, half assed chapter in general, the community seems pretty fed up.
Not just the forums, but you can also talk to various members of the team by replying to their Reddit account (I've forced them to give ETA on bugs there before because they love to reply to my comments), and the official Discord. You can also put a comment under their social media posts - I know there's two diligent Bluesky users who post Legion's buglist and a anti-FOMO comment on every single post, but we can all do that too, on every platform.
-
Skull Merchant was actually nerfed twice in less than half a year. Freddy is not OP, you just don't know how his power works (and yes, this is also why Skull Merchant got nerfed a third time). Kaneki is strong because high mobility killers are incredibly good and gets the added benefit of shutting down exhaustion perks, which are survivors' favorite perks. Clown needs to have his yellow bottle's activation time nerfed and he'll be perfect.

I highly recommend the build Human Greed, Hoarder, Franklin's and Weave Attunement to counter the new meta that has no problems whatsoever and BHVR are fine existing!
Those perfectly legitimate Streetwise users are a threat, so be sure to look for Hoarder notification spam and rightfully tunnel them out of the game as quickly as possible.
After all, the decision to not killswitch this couldn't possibly have any repercussions. It's just a new survivor meta to adapt to!
Be sure to play a nice mobile killer too, it's been working well on Singularity since you can just defend the item on the ground with a pod.
Or use Hag. Let's all get Hag's playrate up together :)
-
Don't even bother playing. Don't buy anything, don't play, if you feel like you have to play don't buy auric cells or chapters, and your perks now only come from the Shrine.
-
Don't forget that they've also delayed the Swamp rework to 2026, are post-poning news on the Trickster rework as the devs imply it'll be used to sell the March 2026 chapter, had a content creator announce that two reworks were cancelled with no reason stated (Cenobite and Plague - announced through Hens' stream, with the actual reason being that they were delisting Cenobite) instead of doing it themselves and apologizing, and that Legion, Houndmaster, Dark Lord, and Knight each have full spreadsheets of bugs currently affecting them that get reported on a PATCH-LY BASIS.
-
Throwing a bump up on this thread as I've been told this isn't fixed yet. I'll be looking for footage of it myself soon, but wanted to bring some attention in case a Freddy player has a new clip/logs or a CM would like to give a ETA on a fix.

If there are any Freddy mains in this thread who want a break from Streetwise posting, I'd love some further assistance here too.

Game is chopped and devs are morons are we really surprised anymore? They have proven this almost every year. Then we forget about it in a couple months when they come out with a statement and some compensation blood points, and then they do it again.
The only way to fix this is to add more licenses. More more more. More licenses. Greed greed greed. More survivor buffs and killer nerfs because player base is 4:1.
My favorite killer, Freddy, has been bugged to the point of being unplayable since the FNaF PTB, and this bug comes from the fact that they "fixed" a bug with him that update that didn't even exist, and ended up making him more bugged. Also, this is the only game ever where people will defend exploits like these. Not even the lizards in R6 or CS will do that.
I think I will go back to playing Outlast Trials. They take time on their updates but they do not come out like this. I look at TWD update and I'm absolutely astonished at how this got pushed to live, just look at everything wrong! That metal beam still being there in the offering screen means that literally NO ONE booted up a match to test ANYTHING!Hey, are you either able to link to the bug report thread about Freddy, or if one doesn't exist, describe the bugs you're experiencing? From my experiences, I've noted no changes with him, but I'd like to be able to see if I've missed something.

No, but I really wish I recorded it.
The gen was literally done in like 30 seconds.
Next time I get online with them, I will record it and make a post about it.If you had gotten the Engineer toolbox, 30 seconds is the normal speed.
-
@THE_Crazy_Hyena said:
Streetwise is broken. Period!
Tested it out with @HeroLives in a custom match, and I can confirm that it definitely BREAKS toolboxes, to an extreme degree.
A regular brown toolbox has 16 charges, or roughly 18% worth of a gen's progress at 50% increased repair speed.
A brown toolbox with a socket swivel add-on increases the speed to 80%, but you still have 16 charges.
Now, a brown Streetwise toolbox will have 28.8 charges, and from what I can tell, these charges stacks multiplicatively, when you do the chest swapping bug. Not only that, but it also counts the add-ons you are getting on the toolbox too, and stack them multiplicatively.
So, let's say you swap the item 10 times in the chest:
This brown toolbox will now have 288 charges (3.2 gens worth), and a repair speed of around 270%
If that is not killswitch-worthy, then I don't know what is.It… shouldn't count the add-ons multiplicatively. Do you have video of you instantly completing a gen from these custom matches?

maybe because they think not December they don't need to killswitch it because some may not have it I don't.
It's the same glitch as the Christmas sweater, but it's on his anniversary outfit now. He also still has the bug in that outfit where he's thought to be Aestri.

That's what I'm thinking.
They can't have two or more things kill switched if they don't do all at the same time/same press of the kill switch "button".Then they can just un-killswitch Gideon Meat Packing Plant and re-killswitch it all in a batch, which would be immensely simple.

At the same time or at different days?
Same time, but Houndmaster was notably only killswitched in the event queue at the time due to a interaction with the snowmen.

I'm starting to think the Kill Switch can only work in one thing at a time or they can't kill switch groups of stuff until they revert the previous one (like re-enable The Game and then kill switch it again along Streetwise at the same time).
They killswitched Houndmaster and Baermar's ugly sweater simultaneously in December.

I think they may be unable to Killswitch more than a single thing concurrently? Or are terrified that it has mayor consequences so they just limit it to a single mechanic at once? If you check all their Killswitch updates they never ever have more than a single mechanic killswitche???
No, they can killswitch two things at a time. Last December, they killswitched a cosmetic for Baermar at the same time Houndmaster was killswitched.

funny how they say not gamebreaking when in this update they killed FD.
Franklin's Demise would not help with this exploit, as survivors can still come back to it prior to the 90 second timer timing out and still have a LOT of charges. They could also just perform the exploit again.
-
Here is another video showcasing the bug from the killer's perspective. It should also be noted that it is still doing the glitch from 9.0.0 in which Baermar is incorrectly shown as Aestri.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hkz1NadKFc -
There's also something players can do in order to get things like this to stop happening… you know that big licensed chapter that's coming out in November? The one that could potentially be Predator or Friday the ######### 13th? Don't buy it. Don't buy September's original chapter too. If you haven't bought TWD chapter, then don't buy it. Make them work for their money, and start buying again when the bugs are fixed.

I would like to now state that I was incorrect. Baermar's anniversary outfit actually plays no sound at all.

the devs didn't kill switch Springtrap or Kaneki when they were and still are abusing invisibility/audio bug and kidnap exploits without any remorse whatsoever, and survivors saw that every other match. meanwhile streetwise exploit takes too much time to even be of value, that's why you won't see it in 9/10 survivor matches if you actually played the masterpiece that is Dead by Daylight.
it's okay to let survivors have a little fun sometimes. if survivors can handle Kaneki and Spring Trap exploits and an entire roster of OP killers, then killers can handle Streetwise exploit for a few months. as for me, I won't be abusing Streetwise because I don't need it, thank you very much. BHVR is very gracious to provide us with this insider info so don't kill the messenger. this is not the apocalypse. killers will survive one way or another.
Hey buddy, just wanted to let you know that the audio bug was fixed within a few days, the invisibility was fixed in a week, and "kidnap tech" is not a bug nor a exploit.
-
Posting a link to a clip from Mintskull that shows that it only takes a few seconds to start doing the Streetwise exploit.
-
Start by taking off Windows and learning the map's layout without assistance. This is the easiest way to break your comfort zone, as you've likely become reliant on the perk to loop. You will die while learning, and that is something you have to accept, but it will get you to a point where you realize the slot you used for Windows was a free slot that you could've put another perk in.
After that, try making a stealth layout, a gen layout, and a healing layout. The build you already have is generalist, so make some specialized builds. Once you're comfortable with all of those, then you can make a chase layout, and by the time you get there, you might notice you've gotten a lot better at looping by not having all of the benefits of running a chase build.

Doesn't matter who is behind the moderation. BHVR or not, the company has good relations and ties to that subreddit. It's used by BHVR for feedback and communications. Maybe it would be better if BHVR would to distance oneself from it? Because that place is NOT it.
I would love to have you explain how the issue you are having with the subreddit's moderators relates to the exploit relating to Streetwise and how it needs to be killswitched. From what I can see from your screenshots, the only relevance it has is that one commenter says they saw a thread about it getting taken down, without a link to the thread or the stated reason.

Don't be surprised if they either remove this thread or lock it. BHVR really dislike getting criticized I've noticed. I made a Reddit post about how the mods and the automod are way too strict. Because they remove so many posts for no reason. Even that post got removed. It got over 100 upvotes and everybody was basically agreeing with me. It was a civil discussion. But nope.
Here are screenshots of the post: Click here for screenshots
This isn't relevant to this, as the subreddit is not moderated by BHVR but by its own mod team.

"I am not discounting the frustration or feedback"
Yes you are though, thats exactly what youre doing. Thats what the devs always do, they always discount what the killer's experience is. Killers are expected to be the adults in the situation and have patience that far exceeds whats expected of survivors. You devs know for a fact how it is when survivors have a bug affecting them, and youl fix those ones within a week tops, but then you will expect killers to put up with broken scratch marks from 6-12 months.
"It is a nuclear option"
So melodramatic, for what? Streetwise went from a perk you literally never see, to seeing it at least once per game, solely because of an exploit. Your take is indefensible.
The worst part is that this does affect survivors! Not only is this making survivor queue longer (due to people wanting to abuse the exploit for free Iri 1 in surv and killers not playing due to the glitch), but the time taken to abuse the exploit means that the team is technically down a member for until the exploiter finishes, as well as the fact that the exploited items can be used to benefit the other survivors via healing and permablinding does make it affect the survivors.

They couldn't even be consistent with effectively the same bug between different killers:
Nurse had an issue where blinking into grabbing a survivor off a gen caused the nurse player to not be able to interact and soft locked the killer. Couldn't move, use abilities, nothing, and just stuck in the grab animation until the game ended. Nurse was kill switched for about 6 weeks for them to fix it.
Twins had a nearly identical issue, where something about switching between Victor and Charlotte would occasionally cause the killer to soft lock, not be able to move or interact, and just stuck until the game ended.
This has happened to the twins twice. The first time they were broken for 3 months. Neither time were the twins kill switched.
This issue is notably still a problem with Twins, and we only have a few weeks to find out if it's still on Wesker in his 2v8 version, or if they finally fixed it the third time around.
-
Yes, using Reshade and Nvidia filters are currently allowed. I don't think they'll ever say Nvidia filters cannot be used, as it comes with your graphics card, but I cannot say the same for Reshade, as that would be a issue with EAC and not the game itself.
-
They did recently change Franklin's Demise as well to not reduce the amount of held charges, in fact. If you're experiencing issues with using Streetwise, we do have a bug report thread about the issue with it right now.

@Toybasher said:
I personally disagree with not killswitching Streetwise. It's definitely not server-crashing levels of broken, but it's a very powerful exploit. I don't know if it works on items survivors bring in, too (I.E. can a survivor bring a medkit with speedy healing addons and do the glitch to get infinite use?) or if the survivor is only limited to the RNG of whatever item is inside the chest, but it's still something that enables infinite flashlight/toolbox/medkit.
Either killswitch it or at least prioritize a bugfix asap because it's impacting games significantly if survivors are getting faster healing/repairing literally the entire match.
To answer your question, no, it does not work on items that you already bring in. If survivors want to guarantee a medkit with good add-ons, they can bring Pharmacy and Ace in the Hole alongside Streetwise to obtain the desired medkit.

For reference to any commenters coming in without reading the Streetwise Killswitch thread, the three exploits that Rapid99 is discussing are:
- The Streetwise Exploit that is currently in the game, and the larger discussion threads are here and here
- The Merciless Storm glitch, where after it was originally killswitched, it had the ability to reduce the gen to 0%.
- The Bloodrush glitch, where players can use Sprint Burst every 24 seconds even while exhausted. The bug report thread is linked here for any users with further videos or logs
- Rapid also mentions the Nemesis killswitch, and Scott Jund mentions in the linked Streetwise thread of a exploit with a Skull Merchant add-on doing a similar effect
Sorry for doing a quick tl;dr, Rapid (edit: WRONG NAME), but I did want to make sure the links to the appropriate discussions were in place for any users who had experienced the exploits and needed to submit their feedback or bug report.

Yeah, I see a difference, this is worse because this can give medkits, flashlights new maps and new keys infinite charges not just toolboxes. On top of that there are perks that literally let you get what you want from a chest?
Keys and maps cannot perform the exploit, according to my testing. Only the three traditional charge items can.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3977012#Comment_3977012
Potential Energy → you load to the game with the perk and toolbox and can instantly hop on a gen
Streetwise → you need to spend 30+ seconds searching for a chest, opening it and stacking up charges, you also need to be lucky to get the toolbox from that chest, if you don't get it you add another 20s+ to find and open another chest
You see the difference?
Or you could use the Universal Perk Plunderer's Instinct and any of the three perks that guarantee the specific item to speed up this process, which multiple videos have already shown is occurring. You can also bring Coin offerings to increase the amount of chests, as the map can hold up to 16 chests (3 at base + 4 for Human Greed and Hoarder, which killers are bringing to get video of the survivors performing the exploit + 8 chests for a entire party of coins + 8th anniversary offering on any killer older than and including Vecna), making them incredibly easy to find. You can also do this with things that are not toolboxes and get permablinds or heal at max speed for the entire match.

Oh no, I'm not saying it's gamebreaking, I'm saying Nemesis was unplayable and bugged to #########. This is also why Houndmaster was disabled in Bone Chill last year, as she was unplayable, bugged to #########, and caused stuff to crash.

How was nemesis pwyf bug game breaking then? It did not disallow games to end normally, it was only a permanent 15% haste?
He could also lunge while carrying survivors, and could not use Exposed perks or any other perk that required a M1 hit to trigger, like Franklin's Demise. Nemesis was killswitched because Nemesis was in a unplayable state, not because PWYF made Nemesis unplayable.

If anyone has video of this occurring, or logs post-match, are they able to upload it and link it to this thread? While this isn't my usual home on the bug report sub-forum, I do want to stress that videos and logs tend to help the dev team get to the bottom of the issue faster. Here's how to get logs if you're a PC player:
- Press the Windows Key + R to open the "Run" command.
- In the text box paste the following: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Logs
- Click "OK" - this will open your Dead by Daylight Logs folder.
- If it does not open the Dead by Daylight Logs folder, it may mean that when installing Dead by Daylight you chose to save your files somewhere else and will need to check there.
- The file called "DeadByDaylight.log" is your log file

Im not using it to win though.
I would not openly state that you're using a exploit on the forums on a account that may be tied to the email address you use for your Dead By Daylight account. However, so far, the devs have not stated whether the exploit is bannable, though due to the fact that a player may perform this exploit by accident (since it is so easy to do), they have stated in the past any exploits of that manner may not be bannable unless it is insanely obvious.
Still, don't do that.

It takes below 20 seconds to do, what?
If a survivor spawns in shack with streetwise, and the chest spawns right there, they can have it open and get a 1k charge toolbox before 39/40 killers can get to that side of the map consistently. The only exception being ghoul, but then they can just cycle back to shack or another chest anyway. And the time sync to take maybe a minute to do the exploit, then make every gen you do go from 90 —> 60 seconds for the rest of the game is an insane time save, especially since it gives the killer less time to remove resources, get downs, and use perks. And that's if ONE GUY is using it, and not all 4 survivorsI've faced 2 teams who brought shiny coins to make getting chests even easier lol
Respectfully, who ever is behind the kill switch decisions on the live balance team needs to strongly reconsider their stance on what counts as "Game-breaking."
This also doesn't mention that if a killer wants to record the glitch happening in pubs without survivors stopping, they have to bring either Human Greed or Hoarder, which each add 2 more chests, making it even easier to do.

Please let's not put words into my mouth as neither "suck up" or "git gud" is fair to infer from what I said. This is leaving out a lot of nuance. Again, I am not here to tell people that it isn't annoying or frustrating, just that in this case there is no cause for a Kill Switch. Explaining that the feature will not be used in this case does not disable my ability in sharing feedback with the team. Sentiment, however, is not part of the Kill Switch criteria.
You're going to need to provide for the community the requirements for the killswitch in order to get out of this thread, as there is a paper trail of avoidance about killswitching or acknowledging the issue of the exploit. You've already notably lied in the previous comment linked by gerolau (in which you state it takes too long to exploit Streetwise, which is completely untrue - it takes one round of taking the item to exploit the bug, and this action only takes about 2 seconds to do), and I would like to note for the community that you are the main moderator involved in the original thread in which I and several other users linked videos and logs showcasing that the exploit does take considerably less time than you imply. Anyone else experiencing this issue, or just me?
edit: would like to include a clip of a video where a user does the Streetwise exploit. It is a 20 second clip from the chest opening to when he stops. Thanks to Mintskull for this clip
