my first match this weekend was a teleporting Dwight. thanks, Rancor. I barely caught it.

"By the way, I think it would be better to use Overzealous with one or two boon perks instead of cleansing them."
No. This would just mean that instead of wasting one Perk Slot for a bad Perk (Overzealous) you would waste 2-3 Perk Slots for bad Perks. All Boons are bad and are not worth taking. People who boon Totems are basically working against their team.
Funnily enough I had one person yesterday in my games shortly after reading this Thread here who was using Overzealous and was constantly putting up her Boon (Shadowstep). She booned a total of 4 times, during this time a Gen could have been easily done, even without the "bonus" Overzealous gives. (Granted, they were probably a new player since they did not have all Perks at Tier 3 yet)
@Topic
But yeah, Overzealous is a Noob-Trap. Obviously it was called OP when it released, because one Survivor-Perk has to be OP and scary when a new Chapter releases. But once people did a little bit of math, it was quite obvious that the Perk is bad. And if some Streamer is saying nowadays that it is a OP Perk or even a good Perk, you should never take any of their takes serious again.
if you plan on booning regardless it makes sense with the mindset of recovering some lost time. the old rules still apply though, you must take a map.
it's funny cope when you get those killers who move heaven and earth to snuff those boons. little do they know I must make bar go yellow...

I'm not against the idea or anything, but I'm really split. tbh, not being the Obsession is not necessarily better or worse for you since at that point, you will gain all the benefits of OoO with zero downside or risk to yourself.

5 second DS isn't a big deal. it should never have changed

dbd players just can't let go.

happy holidays! I've been curious to try Crow Country myself, I went down a rabbit hole of looking at terrible horror/ps1 style on the Xbox store but that one looked really interesting.
DDLC was great! really messed me up, though. I wasn't sold on the ideas of writing sappy poetry to pick up chick's but I kinda got into it and fell for a nice girl. I was struggling with depression/suicide at the time and that game messed me up for 2 solid weeks. I have terrible luck with romance it seems.
-
oh hey, dog person. nice to see ya back around.
I feel bad for the people like yourself that are passionate about her. the Blitzcrank killer deserves better. I'm basically waiting for the all clear from you before I even bother putting time into her. my killers that I am passionate about are already buggy themselves lol

If I can shake the DbD addiction cravings long enough, playing a story-based game helps me remember what I like about gaming.
ever play KOTOR 1? that game scratches my DnD+ space itch

I do my part by playing cenobite and springtrap.

looks like a lot of effort went into this so I'll comment in the hopes it keeps the thread alive for somebody to notice.

add something else to the rotation, like Marvel Rivals. Dbd always feels fun after a break and it helps you not sweat the small stuff.
-
it's fine being a perk.

I'd make No Mither not break the surv until they're hit first. Still needs a full rework imo, but at least this makes it not be announced immediately at the start of the trial.
this would go so hard for me in my treacherous crows build! Iron Will is safer, but No Mither is much more powerful allowing me to hide my blood pools, but starting broken kinda begs for the killer to sniff around the basement.
-
dbd can be casual, but it suffers when both sides aren't on the same page. either casual or tryhard can be fun, but if one team wants to spam nothing but Oddjob+ Golden Guns then the other side can't be playing Jaws.
that will always be the fundamental problem. but you don't know what you get until you get into a match. this is why I play pure end game builds so when I get a chill lobby I can hang out

Not to mention, to renew the license costs money and they're not going to spend the money unless they're sure they'll get it back, plus profit. The sales likely aren't there anymore. Everyone who wanted Myers and Laurie likely have them by now, and whatever new players are coming into the game may not be enough to make the cost worth it
to me i think its be worth keeping just to keep up appearances. losing a licence like this now is just weakening faith in the brand. now more than ever BHVR can't afford these kind of headlines.

That ship has sadly sailed.
People for some reason hate if survivors survive by hiding and just complain that every time you hide = rat.
Which sucks for soloq, but kinda ironic that they only help soloq by nerfing ######### that no survivor really wanted anyway.
People still rat without distortion and killers have so many perks and powers to counter distortion, its gutting served no purpose whatsoever, especially considering they killed wake up for no reason.
sucks because stealth is the only surefire way to combat mobility, especially mobility with aura reading. Lights Out kept mobility killers in check by being able to actually use the geography to your advantage.
not that stealth is dead entirely, OoO still works but that's a veteran metagame option and not really viable for the entry level gamer just wanting to be able to breathe the first 10 seconds of a match without running the risk of spawning in a dead zone vs Lethal Pursuer

Same with me and the new names for every perk made general. I will call Gift of Pain by it's rightful name.
Also I do not recognize the blue rarity.
one day we get our yellow colour back
-
pain resonance: revert it to original. literally the perfect killer perk.
survivor: treacherous crows: remove the TR requirement

Bro is your sensitivity at 500%? By the time I do a full spin with a joystick the match is over.
I tend to sort of look toward the ground so I can predict a sudden movement, but I also want to look up, so my camera does this constant up and down movement. I didn't realize just how odd it looked and how much I do it until I started clipping stuff for bug reports.
just max controller sensitivity. playing Legion and Spirit in particular, those characters in particular are desperate about not getting spun when it counts.
-
bond; it allowance me to detect sandbagging and throwers, and be able to throw off rats.
you can't trust other survivors in solo q in 2v1. it's not always, but it's not impossible for thr survivor to tame the killer out and work together. I am a creature of spite so I enjoy wasting their time. I do my part by attempting to tap generators out of good will for the spirit of the game but slugging the survivor to find me forces me to play for the server closing
-
to put into perspective how deep the Halloween asymm roots go, "Michael Myers" was a popular game mode on Call of Duty back in 2008. one killer has a knife, everyone else can only run away. This is a huge loss
-
I don't have room for it in my treacherous crows build, sorry
-
Mikey was a huge part of dbd; that's most unfortunate
-
@cogsturning said:
If it's all you know, you manage, but yeah, there are some killers I won't even play. It would take too much to learn them when I can just play others. Getting spun is easy, and doing a well-timed spin as survivor is hard. Sensitivity adjustment helps a little, and the input lag feels normal when you're used to it.
I developed my own solution for being spun if you are mindful about aim deessing; I spin with the spinners like a silly Lil goober which waves my damage hitbox around, as m1s linger a fair bit. I did it to be a memelord but it seems to genuinely confuse people, and one guy thought I was a high dpi PC sweatlord

Pain Res in particular really is an annoying perk to play against, it must be said.
There's a part of me that wants it to go back to activating on every hook with a lower percentage just so I don't have to watch a nearly finished gen get reset so far, haha.
that pain res was my favourite killer perk in the game. it was my staple for farming hooks and maintaining constant pressure.

anybody dox this guy yet? I'd like to order some pizzas to his doorstep and make him stuck paying for it. it has to be one angry dbd player who is still upset that the mods banned him right?

I wish they'd bring this mode back. I miss it.
same. I just hope next time bhvr stands up and puts their foot down by telling doc and Legion players to enjoy the handicap or play someone else. their powers by design should not function in that mode.

Not just EU servers lol. I think it's unforgivable that the game allows pings above 180-200. And it's even worse that the game forces you to play against killers with 300-500-800 ping. Why would you play a match against a killer like that? It makes no sense. If the game detects that a player has more than 200 ping (whether killer or survivor), the match should be automatically canceled.
*To clarify, I don't live near a server, BUT I do live in the area where there are servers, which means my ping is between 100-120, and I play against people whose ping is 80-100. Unfortunately, we play against people from China (they don't have servers there, and theoretically, they shouldn't be playing DBD either because I understand violent games are banned), but they're using VPNs and have pings of 200-300, even up to 800... it doesn't make sense.
there's no limit, sadly. I uses to game on 1100 ping, with my record being 11,000. I'm surprised I got into any matches

If they show perks in the pregame lobby, it'll be kill switched in less than 60 days. Why? Because new players will essentially be blocked from playing the game. Anytime a player sees yellow or green perks in the lobby, they will just dodge. It'll be nearly impossible for them to get a match. I know some of you on this forum have no problem with teaming up with new players, but sadly you'll be in the minority. Most will just quit and uninstall after waiting 10 to 15 minutes for a team willing to give them a chance.
then there's vets like me that would bust out Bill with No One Left Behind in the hopes I can get that new person to stay, because this game hemorrhages new players...
-
there are perks id dodge as killer( Finesse Lithe gamers are the most boring people to face. waste of time) but as Survivor idc.
id like to think using bad perks will make you try harder. if people quit because of my perks.…GOOD! I don't need people having meltdowns because I revealed Treacherous Crows. if you don't use that perk you don't understand how your team will work with the killer because they hate you. so if these people dodge good riddance.
-
as a rule of thumb, anything with a white aura cannot be influenced by any modifiers. the jigsaw boxes can't have their skill checks rigged or have their auras suppressed by perks, but you can indeed rip them off the box with face the Darkness. I use that perk on Pinhead for funsies sometimes
-
I miss the infinite use. Lethal Pursuer has gotten kind of old. dropping a smoke at every potential cause of aura made solo survivor much more tolerable in an age where Distortion is dead.(i do main object for stealth, but that perk attracts my arch Nemesis Wraith)
maybe the issue is that people take unbalanced loadouts(4 auras) then complain when all the eggs in their basket are no good. that's why you round out your builds.

^ this.
I would not call regular Ormond unbalanced, but Ormond Lake Mine is probably the best Map they released somewhat recently. It is very balanced.
I know Ormond was a popular survivor map before, but I did not like the Ormond changes that came with Dracula. I feel I may be a minority since I never hear about post rework Ormond

sounds like some kind of skill issue. I enjoy establishing complete dominance with perkless Springtrap by not tunneling and making direct eye contact as I do so. you will have fun...or else.

I can explain my personal opinion on why I disagree. I disagree with the idea that it doesn’t matter if one player gets stun-locked just because the other three can still do things. I feel that logic is a slippery slope you can use to excuse almost anything, and lets you excuse any uninteractive mechanic. When something is practically guaranteed and out of your control (often like Ghoul’s first hit), it stops feeling like genuine player interaction and more so an inevitability. Writing off that frustration with that inevitability with “it’s only bad for one, not the others because can they can move, so it’s fine” (paraphrasing here on just the general vibe it feels like you were saying, sorry If I’m misunderstanding your point) just isn’t something really I agree with.
don't get me wrong, I understand the frustrations regarding Kanekis hits, especially the first one. it's hit scan and quite forgiving, sometimes he munches on rocks etc. I'm only specifically talking about the act of Kaneki stunning himself to have a Lil snack. I feel that is the most nothingburger part about him that I genuinely don't understand.
As the Kaneki, I find myself spinning around for the entire duration out of boredom and silliness.
-
nurse is an exception we should bring back double stun on nurse. if a survivor has the audacity to pallet stun a nurse and geta away with it they deserve a reward
-
I wouldn't mind being banished and have an excuse to blaze up mid trial. I've always liked Invocations for letting me just chill out a bit when normally dbd demands I be hyperefficient

Agreed. Dissolution is probably my least favorite perk on either side to play against.
have people finally stopped calling Dissolution terrible?
-
anyone care to explain why I'm incorrect or is this a case of "they're booing me because I'm right?"
-
there are 4 survivors and 1 killer. being locked in place is time that 3 survivors are going uncontested all for cannibalism flavour
-
I treat others how id like to be treated. I'll never instigate but I'll always reciprocate. it's why I love loot bag Springtrap so much. only when people think they are absolutely safe they'll let their true colours show >:)
I'll never fault somebody for trying. I'm just a vibes person. I don't mind throwing a match just to spite one person if it's clear they have some kind of issue. but I'll also gladly go for a 0k if it was fun
-
there's always the MLO approach; you go down, you die.
