Bigfoot or a Wendigo. Any cryptid would be super cool.

I am sad that a game I have played ALMOST daily for 5 years has become unbearably miserable for me. I am allowed to grieve for that.
Hey, I'm not the grief police, you can grieve whatever you want. It's just weird to share your opinion and then say you're not interested in other's opinions. If you're that miserable take a break. Playing something daily for 5 years is enough to make anyone miserable regardless of the game. Games are fun, and if you have burnout from a game then a break is definitely warranted.
-
"IDC about your opinion on the matter."
Uh... Thanks for sharing then? See you when you reinstall.
-
I just want an alien of some kind. I don't care if it's a Xenomorph, E.T.'s creepy finger, or an original character. We need us an alien.
-
Buying something you don't like to support a company is one of the worst things you could do. I love this game, and I always want it to succeed, but everything we buy as consumers is a vote for what a company will work on and sell next. If I don't like something, why would I buy it and ensure more votes for a similar product?
-
Ever since becoming a Bubba main I don't dodge any lobbies.
-
All joking aside, it's fun every once in a while for the memes, but I agree that he is a lot more fun to play normally. I would still rather go vroom vroom with Billy, but he just isn't as fun to play with anymore. The Chainsaw killers in the game are my happy place, and I like Bubba's pig squeals.
Hopefully Billy gets a buff in the future. I miss him. :(
-
I can't help it. They just come swarming the hook and it fills me with so much joy to just instadown 2 people who let altruism win. Oh, you're going to t-bag me in the distance, click a flashlight, and wave for me to come chase you? No, I don't think I will.
The survivor can't stand when the face camping Bubba doesn't take their bait, and they have to stroll in and get the unhook. A vroom vroom later, and you got yourself another easy kill or two and mountains of salt.
It may not be fun for the survivor on the hook, but darn it, it's fun for me. I am nothing if not petty. Should have been nicer to me when I was a Billy main.
-
I only tunnel that hard when they're asking me to. I had a match last night where everyone brought a flan, so I was going to get my two hooks and let everyone live to keep their invitations and get the most out of our shared flans. In comes the clicky clicky teabaggers, so I hooked the worst one and face camped them to death, and the other I downed after failed attempts at body blocking from the other survivors after exit gate was opened. I picked them up and dropped them inside the gate so they could crawl their way to safety.
I am petty yet merciful and generous.
I firmly believe tunneling is a useful strategy, but tunneling for six plus minutes just means they're tilted.

As for the survivors, I don't really know. I'd say Ethan, but I'm not sure if Capcom would be willing to reveal his face by letting him be a survivor.
While I don't think they're important enough to be full-on survivors, I'd like to see skins for Marvin and Annette.
Heck yeah, dude! RE7 is my favorite in the franchise, and one of my favorite games ever. He was the perfect villain, and was an absolute mad lad. I would love to be able to play as him, and I think he would be an amazing killer in the game.
-
I used to only play soloQ, and then started focusing on playing killer. Without a doubt the most unfun thing in this game is soloQ. I've had a lot more fun playing mostly killer. The que times are shorter, there's plentiful amounts of salt, and I almost always get more blood points playing killer than soloQ.
Join us. Come to the dark side. We have cookies... and NOED. "One of us! One of us! We accept you we accept you! Gooble gobble gooble gobble!"
-
I have been trying to have super chill matches, but the mechanic of survivors having to escape to get their invitations really makes them sweat. Games have been ending in about the same amount of time, and I feel I have wasted a lot of flan. No more playing chill for me. It is time to dust off the pile of bones.

Totally! I'm a huge tracking perk fan, and Spies is one of my go-to perks. Survivors always underestimate crows, it pays off so many times!
Another perk I enjoy and no one cares for: Hangman's Trick. I've seen so many survivors go into a locker near a hook and grabbed them out of it. Best one was: Nurse, 2 survivors left. Carrying one to their death hook. Look around. See someone go into a locker. Drop, blink right in front of their locker. They ran like hell. They still died though.
Haha that's awesome. I have found discordance and spies is a deadly combo for Freddy. I transport to the gen two players are working on and the crows will direct me to at least one of them.
-
Spies is one of my favorite perks. When I started playing killer, it was always one of the first perks unlocked in the blood web. I was stuck on bitter murmurs in my noob days, and spies opened my world to better perks. Are there better perks? Absolutely, but my crows have helped me many times. Those crows are good birds.

I don't know about healthy, but it is hilarious.

What would you like the killer to do when someone DC's? Stand in the corner of the map? DC themselves? I hope for the sake of all that is good that this is a troll post. It's crazy that I can no longer say "obvious troll," because I'm never 100% certain anymore. I genuinely don't know what you would like the killer to do in this situation. It seems like a very silly thing to expect. If it's that big of a problem for you then you should DC from the match, uninstall the game, and go play another game that you feel is fair. I hear that Civilization is a good game to try.
-
I've become a mostly killer main due to the state of soloQ. I don't agree with people who say that killer is the most stressful part of the game, because soloQ is way more stressful to me and I'm having more fun playing different killers. I get to play sweaty or chill, and with the right attitude I generally have fun regardless of the pace of the game. The killer que is so short I almost immediately hop into another game. I feel like every game in soloQ I have to play sweaty to get any reasonable BPs.
-
I used to think that survivors thought my matches as killer were boring, because they would just finish their gens and leave. Then I learned about proxy camping. Suddenly they started waving their flashlights and doing a weird dance that looked taxing on their knees. I then knew what I had to do to make sure survivors enjoyed their matches. I added in tunneling and face camping. They must love tunneling and face camping, because they would all start pointing at me, telling me to do it more. When I would do it more they started dancing. Bobbing up and down with glee. They even shined me with spotlights, their clicky clicks fueling me to face camp and tunnel more.
They have so much fun in my games that they refuse to leave even though they're inches away from freedom!
-
I was playing sweaty all day yesterday, and towards the last few games I was looking to have more chill games. The last game I had two dead on hook, and figured I'd let the other two go. I point at them to open the gate and walk away and just start smacking a tree. This dude comes up to me, clicking me with his flashlight and t-bagging, while wasting my time trying to get me to chase him through the gate.
My point is, that, well I don't have a point. People act crappy. I'm sure many survivors considered my playstyle toxic yesterday, but I got mine. That last survivor I played got his. The nurse you played got theirs, and I'm sure you have gotten yours before in this game. We all get ours sometimes. Everyone has games that are awesome, and some that suck.

what regional horror storys or icons do you guys know from your home areas that would make a scary deadbydaylight chapter ?
For me Italy
has alot of storys of vampires and for some reason haunted paintings
I'd love to be closer to Ireland where the headless horseman comes from
America has lots of slashers but isn't old enough to have many ghosts
Of course Asia has oni
I have to disagree about America not having many ghosts or lore. The states are ripe with folklore about ghosts and monsters. Yes, they are derived from European and Eastern legends, but too be fair most legends are taken from another region.
America has legends of ghosts, cryptids, and aliens. A lot of ghost stories in the Eastern part of the states centers around the various wars fought in America, most referring to the Civil War.

im not defending the people in chat but I will say this. by in large most people watched the stream to see what the next year roadmap would be like and who the new licensed killer would be. The devs know this and they purposely put the killer reveal at the end so that they could make sure they had an audience at all for the mobile section and the fog whisperers section, and guess what it worked. they had thousands of people see and hear the stuff that they really didn't care about but the devs wanted us to know about. I do not care at all for dbdmobile, I just don't have a phone capable of running it. However because of that stream and them making me wait for the killer I do have in the back of my head now if I get a better phone that dbd mobile is not a half bad deal. Im sure the devs knew this would be the reaction and are mature enough to not let it hurt their feelings. They also sure as hell don't need others defending them in a sort of weird white knight post because again they are grown adults and are absolutely equipped to handle it.
Its marketing 101, meaning you don't put the main event as the first fight. Just about every company in any field delays what people are most excited about to share some other features.

I made a post the other day that I would be disappointed with either Pinhead or Pyramid Head. I didn't want Pinhead because he's not my favorite in the genre, in fact he is towards the bottom of lists of characters I'd like to see in game. I didn't want Pyramid Head in part because I didn't think he could be executed as well, and quite frankly Silent Hill has been so forgotten to me that I forgot how exciting and scared I was when I was sneaking downstairs at 1 in the morning to play the copy a buddy lent me against my parent's wishes. They weren't strict, but they thought that 8 and a half years old is a bit young for those games and I tend to agree. Seeing the trailer brought me right back to my childhood of playing Silent Hill and Pyramid Head is indeed iconic.
Maybe its just iconic for 90's kids and older? I mean games don't age as well as movies and I doubt the younger generations have played Silent Hill as much as they've seen horror movies of old. I thought I would be disappointed with Pyramid Head, but I have been pleasantly surprised. Thanks devs!
-
Play as Doc and get some extra Bp's by shocking them over and over again when they are butt dancing.
-
Hellraiser was my least favorite in the genre. Maybe it would help me learn to like it? Not a fan of Pinhead though and I hope it is a different killer.
Currently my list for the candidates being talked about is Alien, Pennywise, and Candyman. The two dark horses that I would love are Jack Torrence and Hannibal Lecter.
Pyramid head and Pinhead are both at the bottom of my wish list, with Imhotep being somewhere in the middle. I've heard other speculations, and at this point it could be anybody. It'd be cool if the bees and Candyman references were to draw us off the real killer, but if they aren't I'd be happy with Candyman.
-
Trapper is fair as long as he doesn't use his traps.
-
I used to do it at low ranks because I always run kindred and when I see I'm going to get farmed, because the survivor isn't paying attention to kindred and probably isn't running borrowed time. I purposefully run kindred for everybody else, and they still flock around the hook with the killer 2 feet away waiting for their unhook points.

So you're willing to sacrifice and leave a teammate behind. And i don't see how it's "overpowered" the barrier would only show up once you unhook the survivor and it'd only last maybe 5 to 6 seconds, definitely not enough time to heal.
I am absolutely willing to leave a teammate behind. This game is supposed to challenge when we act altruistically or when we should be selfish. Its not a "lets all get out and survive together." Its a "lets use each other and hopefully all survive but I'm willing to trip you to escape."
Why should we expect killers to walk away when they are almost guaranteed more hits? That doesn't make any sense, it is like chumming the water for fish and then moving to a different spot before they come.

It kind of looks like the mask from Hush, which was kinda unsettling. However, I can see what people mean when they say it looks silly.

I'm really sorry that I didn't research it thoroughly, I shouldn't use a Fandom article as a reliable source
Hey, thanks! I'm sorry if I came off as harsh, I get defensive about that topic due to it being a common theme that someone with psychosis is inherently dangerous. That fandom article gets the worst out of me, when I first ran across it I was shocked and edited a few of the most damaging things.

The creator of Michael was directly inspired for Michael's character by a kid with schizophrenia he visited while in college. The symptoms Michael deals with on a daily basis are also symptoms of schizophrenia. The Fandom article on him does a better job explaining it than I do, so here you go.
https://halloweenmovie.fandom.com/wiki/Michael_Myers%27_disorder
As someone who has schizophrenia I can honestly tell you that the wiki you shared is pathetic at best. I edited it a while ago to correct one of the worst mistakes, but saying he is more schizophrenic because he faked his catatonia to escape is hands down one of the worst and most offensive things I've heard about schizophrenia. Catatonia can be a symptom of schizophrenia.
If you've spent 10 minutes with someone who is psychotic, meaning experiencing psychosis not psychopathy, you would know that we tend to not be good at faking anything.
Pretty much the only symptoms they got right to even consider as a symptom of psychosis would be when he was hallucinating his mother in the second Rob Zombie remake and possible catatonia in all of the movies.
Please research about this illness before you spread misinformation, and please please PLEASE don't use that horrendous wikipedia article as a resource. Psychosis is NOT psychopathy. Catatonia is a symptom of schizophrenia, but schizophrenia is not the only condition that causes catatonia.

I've asked for a Jack Torrence killer for a while now. I would LOVE The Shining to be a chapter, it would be heckin' great. I think it would be rad to have an overlook hotel themed map, and to have Dick and/or Wendy as the survivors. I don't think they would ever have a kid as the survivor, so Danny is probably out of the question.
-
The top of my wish list is Hannibal Lecter or a Jack Torrence chapter would be great.
An idea for Chucky would be to have Charles Lee Ray be the main killer and his power would be to transfer his soul into Chucky after a power up. I can't imagine it would be fair to have Chucky running around where no one can see him, and it would also look silly to have Chucky be a grown up size. Maybe to counteract the height difference you could have his rain stain also shoot up and forward? I don't know, but I would love a Child's play chapter. I would also love it if Brad Dourif could voice Chucky. I'm pretty sure he would be down for it, and he is voicing Chucky for the upcoming Child's Play TV series.
Candyman is also awesome. That was one of the movies that creeped me out as a kid because bloody Mary was also going around. Friday the 13th probably wont happen due to the lawsuit, but it'd be cool if they played a sneaky trick and squeaked it in. Please no Hellraiser, Pinhead is lame.
-
I hope its Candyman! I want a hook killer of some kind. The hookman has been an urban legend for a long time, and it is one of my favorite stories.

People who compare tunneling to survivors doing gens is pretty asinine. These are not comparable. I get Killer's don't want people to complete gens and escape. However, it in no way disables someone from playing an entire match. It doesn't rob the Killer of their points, in fact if gens aren't done destruction points aren't available and it's more difficult to locate survivors. Hense the post that exists right now about a Killer being held hostage by a team who wouldn't touch gens and just hid.
Tunneling, like camping, disables someone from even remotely playing the game. One is very much in line with how the game is intended to be played. One is not encouraged, because it is very toxic for the individual on the receiving end, but not taken out of the game because it can be a valuable resource when a Killer has their back to the wall. This is why so many Killers in this thread have admitted they do tunnel...but mainly if someone else is being toxic. Because most people recognize it's a ######### way to play against your opponent. And the issue is that a lot of Killers don't use it when their back is against a wall or when a survivor is rude. They use is right out of the gate. Which ruins the survivor's match, who waited just as long for a lobby and had just as much right to play the match as the Killer, but ends up with zero points and a depip for no reason.
Also, there is only one way to do a generator. You get on it. You push M1. There are numerous ways to flush out and kill survivors that do not include tunneling. Its 100% a play style choice.
So you think tunneling is toxic because it robs one survivor of their points? The term rob is incredibly wrong here because you can't have taken what you never had, but I digress. To say it is asinine to compare gen rushing and tunneling is also asinine. I mean, if the game is over in 5 minutes or less doesn't that mean that the killer was robbed of their points? Only entitled people would think that they are owed bloodpoints. There are ways to counter tunneling, and if someone unhooks you in front of the killer without borrowed time... Well I don't think its the killer that's to blame.
Gen rushing isn't toxic, and tunneling isn't toxic.
Any time someone tries to turn efficiency into toxicity I have to laugh.
-
This community cracks me up with its unwritten rules where if you don't follow them then you are considered "toxic." Complaining about tunneling is about as silly as complaining about camping in the end game collapse. Complaining about tunneling is also about as silly as complaining about gen rushing. In what world is it okay to say "you can't complete your main objective because its toxic?"
-
I find Candyman infinitely more entertaining than Pinhead. I hated the Hellraiser movies, and Pinhead is a lame-o. I can't think of a killer I'd like to see less than Pinhead. With that being said, Hannibal is currently my no.1 wish for DBD. I would also love a Jack Torrence killer, because that would be epic. You could have the overlook hotel as the map, and Wendy as the survivor. I'd make my O face if that was ever possible.
-
The killer could be Ronald running around throwing big mac's at the survivor, and his mori could be the lamest birthday party a child could ever go to. McDonald's is the deadliest clown the world has ever seen anyways, so it would make sense.
-
Pardon me for being too fastidious, but the picture kind of betrays your argument. Its not that all four escaped, its that in your chat you made a point to call out the matchmaking. If you are getting consistent wins facing people of high ranks, and if it is as easy as you say, then why would you feel the need to call out rank when you lose?
I would say that the majority of people, myself included, think that it is not easy to play killer. I know many people from streamers and pros, to new players who find that playing killer is at least somewhat stressful. I play more survivor than I do killer, but I enjoy killer because it is more challenging. That is especially true with certain killers.
-
Ez b8.
-
I'm pretty sure 99% of the time when noob3 says something is toxic he is making a joke. He'll say stuff like "holding down m1 you dirty toxic gen rushers." Emulating any youtuber or celebrity is corny, but trying to 360 or flashlight save isn't really emulating a youtuber. To me it is trying to learn their tactics, some being more practical than others.
For the record I didn't know flashlight saves are considered to be difficult, noneffective, or trademarked to any specific youtuber. Ironically enough flashlight saves are one of the easiest to pull off for me, just have to practice aiming the flashlight.
-
I don't know what the purpose of it is. Is it specifically there to make everything blurry? I haven't noticed it to be honest, but I play on higher settings so maybe that's why.

Look at the threads man, they are the worst i've ever seen. The worst being the forced AA that makes it impossible to play, plus the huge fps drop a lot of people are getting because of that and forced V-Sync.
Sorry mate, I don't know what you're on about. Its like this every time an nerf/buff comes around, so I don't see how its worse at all. There are bugs that need to be fixed sure, but it is far from the death knell for the game. I believe the player count is even rising, but I could be wrong on that. The amount of people playing is going to drop when we are out of quarantine, but that's to be expected for every game.
-
It seems as though every time a new adjustment happens people claim that it will be the death of the game. Either the doomsday projections for the game are over dramatic, or this game is a cat with 9 lives.
-
The only toxic part about slugging is people complaining that slugging is toxic. 99% of the stuff in this game that people say are toxic aren't actually toxic, IMO. If the game mechanic is working as intended by the developers then I'm sorry, its not toxic. Lets face it, just because someone loses to something other than a three hook with no tunneling or camping doesn't make the thing they lost to toxic. That's not just for survivor mains either, that goes for the killer side complaining about flashlights, gen rushing, keys, and hook swarming.
Now, that's not to say that we shouldn't voice our opinions and try to get things that we don't like changed, but this crusade where we call out everything besides what we consider to be "vanilla" game play as toxic is silly.
-
I'll watch ASMR sometimes, but I'm super picky about what ASMR I watch. I pretty much prefer tapping sounds. Anything with food is a no-go. Food ASMR and mukbangs are gross, but tapping ASMR gives me some good tingles.

I understand I wasn't as clear as I could've been, but it's a DBD problem. For each and every design choice you have to consider how it affects solo survivor and SWF differently. One of the most common complaints is that devs should bring SWF and solo survivors together then balance killers accordingly. How do you expect to do that when one side has access to the progress of an "objective" and the other doesn't?
Since SWF isn't going anywhere, there should be a totem counter as long as NOED provides as much power as it does, period. Make it work for both sides so that killers can know in advance if their NOED is going to activate or not and play accordingly. If the devs are unwilling to add a totem counter then I don't think NOED should exist in its current iteration.
Now that I agree wholeheartedly with. I didn't mean to imply I was against a progression tracker for totems, and I do think it would be a nice addition to bridge the gap between SWF and solo. As a solo survivor main myself I would love to have the at least some of the same information as SWF.
-

It can't be considered an objective if there's not a progression tracker accessible to all players that have to complete the objective.
I'm not trying to be sarcastic when I ask this, but where does it say that all objectives have to have a progress tracker? Wouldn't it be up for the devs to decide how they want to label objectives and if they want to add a progression tracker for said objectives? To say that it can't be an objective because a certain condition you would prefer is not met simply isn't true. Unless there is an unwritten by-law that states developers are required to provide a progression tracker in order for it to be considered an objective, then it is an objective.
You could pretend its not an objective because those conditions aren't met, but the penalty for that is NOED.
-
Seriously though, people have turned "do bones" into a meme, but that really is the solution. It might not be the most pleasant solution, but a solution it is. I don't understand why people want an easy game every game. I like facing NOED as a survivor because its a challenge.
If it is acceptable that doing 5 generators is the objective for the game, why can't totems be considered a side objective? I feel that most people just want to do their gens and leave, but I don't really find that much enjoyment out of simply pressing m1 in front of a generator. I like to hunt for totems and enjoy the challenge.
-
I may live on a different planet when it comes to this game, but when I play either survivor or killer I don't want the game to end that quickly. I find it silly to wait 10+ minutes in a lobby just to have the game end in 5. I guess I don't play solely to win, I enjoy the actual game play, so I don't mind doing totems and the game taking a bit longer.
I would rather have a 10 minute game where I die on hook than a 5 minute game where I escape.
