I wanted to ask what your rules are for your matches mine are.
    1. Ten second rule on all unhooks, wait 10 seconds then hunt.
    2. Never become focused on 1 target.
    3. Two people dead and 4 generators I give them two generators before I hunt again.
    3. Last random survivor I give them the win, unless their being a toxic little ball of sunshine then I give the gift of the Mori.

To me though the game seems more like a hunt instead of trying to kill 4 people as quickly as I can.
My motto is: Its never about the kill but the hunt.

Haha, quite the odd way to play in my eyes.

Can we do a better job as Killers (especially with Double BP weekend) to give some Survivors a CHANCE to farm points? Patrolling between a hook and a gen next to the hook is not patrolling; you're camping and minimizing your point gain.

This degree of hard camping is being magnified by Spirit's ability to hunt down the survivor in pain; some killers leave no room for heals or the ability to run. This experience is not fair by any standard. Pallets have been nerfed; new talents have been created to put pressure on survivors; some Killers' desperation to pip is overshadowing the fact that points over time make it easier to pip over time.

I understand the animosity between Killer Side and Survivor side, but Killer point gain is easy compared to Survivors; they are at our mercy with lobbies, how well we hunt, and how well we disperse our presence so everyone gets points.

We need to be the better side for the longevity of this game and for a better player experience. I know that there are survivors that deserve to be camped, and by all means go for it, but if you are camping within the first 2 minutes of a game off someone who happens to be on the 2nd gen you patrol, you aren't doing anything beneficial to the play experience of yourself or others.

This is especially frustrating as a Killer main who has to watch some other Killers play like this when lobbies need Survivors to fill them. Seeing other Killers play bad hurts me, because I know you could do better if you tried not sitting on one gen and one hook all game.

Do better; treat Survivors better, because we are better.

You can't tell people how to play when they aren't breaking any rules. Very imperious.

  • Oh my! How dare the Devs try to make DBD more balanced! Terrible just terrible.

  • @RagingCalm That's unfortunate. My sympathies.

    PERK 1:
    "OBSESSION: DON'T FEAR THE REAPER"
Desc: You become Obsessed with one Survivor. While your Obsession is still alive, you have 20%/30%/40% increased Action Speed.

BOC? If so... good on you.

  • @Peanits said:
I don't think it's that unfair, actually. Being the last one alive doesn't warrant a free escape. If the killer finds it first, that's fair game, he beat you to it. If you manage to get another generator done, you get another shot at it.

I feel like giving the survivor a speed boost and preventing the killer from grabbing you basically just means a free hatch escape for the survivor. The killer wouldn't be able to do anything to stop you. Even if he hits you once, you'll just sonic off into the hatch.

If anything, the one thing I would change is respawning the hatch in a different location each time. Having it in the same place makes it a little too easy for the killer to get back to it first and makes it possible to camp the hatch (staying closer to the hatch than any of the remaining generators so you can always close it before the survivor can get to it).

    My exact thoughts.

  • @GolgiNea said:
The killers ability to close the hatch is not ballanced at all. You're lucky to make it that far in a trial to begin with, let alone complete one more gen to re-open the hatch. It will be nearly impossible to get a hatch escape with the killer just patrolling the last remaining gens.

Here are my suggestions on making it more ballanced:
Remove killers ability to see gen auras when one survivor remains in the trial.
Remove the ability for the killer to grab a survivor from the hatch if the survivor has found the hatch first or has re-opened the hatch.
Give the survivor a significant speed buff to completing the gen they need to re-open the hatch.
Hatch can only be closed by the killer once per trial.
Alternative switch for the hatch to be re-opened that the survivor & killer have to find somewhere in the level.

A combination of these suggestions could make the hatch change more ballanced and more fun for everyone. :)

Yeah, that is not balanced at all.

  • Probably unpopular opinion. Maybe adding more steps to fix gens would help with game time. Example: Searching through chests to repair gens or maybe looking for fuel when you have fixed them so they start.

  • @Caretaker said:
A lot of people are blinded/jaded and it's just making the game more and more toxic due to the plethora of balance issues and band-aid fixes. People have become so complacent that minor changes are seen as game breaking. There is a stronger side, I don't have to say which. This hasn't changed for a year + now and it's causing the other side to play even more toxic, and lose all variety which is sad. I love this game and really want it to succeed.

I also want a fair and balanced game where if I lose it was my fault for playing poorly, and not some broken mechanic, or second chance given to a survivor. Not all killers want survivors to just run in a straight line and die, but I wanna actually have some fun instead of play Nascar.

Finally, stealth is fun, and it needs to be rewarded a lot more. Even if it frustrates and bores me it's nothing compared to just munching 30 pallets in a row. Even after I swapped to a new target.

Exactly. Kind of how Rainbow Six: Siege used to be before Op Health. Ugh.

  • @Nanis said:
    List your "unpopular opinions!"

    1) Removing pallet vacuum = Great
    Removing pallets entirely=Horrible
Removing an appropiate amount = Fantastic

    2)Removing hatch stand off =Great
Removing last survivor ability to ever get out = Horrible

(I think there are plenty of compromises that I've seen posted that still make it in the Killer's favor without removing ALL hope for the survivors)

PS: And for those who say, "It's called Dead by daylight, NOT Survive by daylight" Please stop taking the title of the game so literal. Killers are supposed to Kill and Survivors are supposed to Survive. If you want a heavily based killer game where you're OP there are other games out there Such as Friday the 13th.
Survivors are supposed to have fun just as Killers are. Unbalancing a game in favor of Killers just cause it's called "Dead" by daylight is not ideal and you won't have any survivors left to kill. (Remember all these are my opinions only  )

PSS: I don't want to start riots I just want to have civilized posts so people can just talk about things. No need to fight since everyone doesn't view everything the same :chuffed:

    1) I agree.

    2) If you are talking about how the hatch is in the PTB, the last survivor can still get out... it just takes effort and it's hard. But so is Killer for the most part(this game is literally centered around survivors at the moment, though it is improving), I don't think survivors will have it bad with one thing that is challenging. In MY opinion.

PS: I've never seen someone make that argument before.

Nurse is playable on most maps, but you cannot blink in a few maps (including Wretched shop).
Bug has been reported to devs and they're aware of that fact.

That big Macmillan map (I still haven't learned all the map names) is terrible with her, as well as swamp, swamp gives me a great anguish.

When you see NOBODY with your BBQ & Chili after you hook one and so I sit invisible as the Wraith waiting for a new target then they cry in the post chat: CAAAAAAAMPPPPPPPPPPPERRRR, BBQ & Chili and camps!?
People forget the fact that the perk also gives you knowledge on the amount of people who are near the hook.

Funny....killer mains always tell me it doesn’t ruin stealth, and that hiding behind a generator masks your aura....so who’s wrong here? You, are the literal thousands of killer mains denying any reasoning to buff stealth? Actually curious. I main doc, so I understand the whole “stealth is ruined”.

I'm not good at being bold (must be because I am a Killer main, or I suck. Hah.) as survivor so stealth is my only option, but when I get Doctor it's over. I hope they can balance him.

Wanna talk about wasted potential. Gotta bring up gigantic, I miss that game so much. They had to shut down the servers, I lost a lot of friends when they did that. Really interesting game and I wish it lasted longer.

I never played it, but I just did some glancing and PWE was involved so I'm assuming that's where it went wrong. The publishers now-a-days are so money hungry they ruin incredible games.

Yep, game couldn't get a big enough playerbase being that it was something unique in a market filled with MOBAs. PWE completely cut off the funding and let off the developers.

    What a shame.

  • I can't comprehend how one cannot like pineapple on pizza.

  • New Perk: When spotted you gain the ability to smack the killer with your guitar.

  • @MrDrakanator said:
Even though Decisive Strike is pretty strong, I think this re-work would do 2 things. 1. The perk would become insanely weak because a killer can just avoid going through pallets, granted this could cost the killer some time to allow you to wiggle free, but most of the time it wouldn't be enough to make the difference, and the killer could run agitation or iron grasp to help deal with this. 2. The mechanic gets abused by way of a survivor ensuring that they get downed at the pallet, so if the survivor just sits there under a pallet, the killer will know what the survivor's plan is which would create a lot of awkward situations.

Ahh, yes I hadn't thought of that. Good point.

  • @MeowLux said:
The current perk idea is fine, but it does need a major nerf to make it not a free escape. The problem with your suggestion is that lag would most certainly break this perk. For the killer you're outside the pallet, but for you, you are inside the pallet, so when you drop the pallet down you'd think it will stun the killer, but instead he will just teleport slightly to the spot where he actually is. It'd be a cool idea, but I don't think it would work right now atleast.

    You might be right.

I'm anxiously awaiting it as well. I am starting to see this game become what it should've been.

With every balance patch they've been pushing out it's been slowly becoming a great game.

I have to agree on that if only they did little patches here and there to fix some small bugs, instead of waiting to put it all in one patch

    Hotfixes? Like with Warframe?

Yeah, i'd like to see them more often

    As would I.

  • An interesting idea I came up with (In my opinion at least) was make it so that when the killer carries a survivor through a pallet, said survivor has a chance to pull it over onto the killer getting a chance to run. It would be a game-play feature instead of a perk. I'm not sure how practical it would be.

I did dodge some hatchets but then my teammate got hit with it so I saved him.
Then she hit him and me, so someone else came and..
I think it is over powered.

Sounds more like a strategy problem than a game-play one.

Well, it is not the first time I am facing a Huntress with this offering..

Not a valid argument for nerfing its effects. I've encountered Brand New Part so often, I don't know if I can even call it a rare offering. Though I'm not sure it should even exist in the first place, seeing as how easy it is to do gens now-a-days.

I am indeed a killer main. Well we need an objective outlook. I thought I was being pretty objective during this discussion.

  • Improve the already existing one? Like needing to use toolboxes to even work on gens, then maybe needing gas to start them after fixing them. Or maybe making multi leveled games? Example: Start on Macmillan then open the gates, instead of leaving/winning you go onto another map with another objective to get out. Probably not possible, maybe hard to balance, I don't know. Just thought it might make it more entertaining.

  • I think separating the two would be a good choice. However I don't think we should increase the numbers, it would be a bit hard to balance.

  • It really only comes down to the skill of prediction with this, be it survivor or killer. Just get better at dodging.

  • Or how about simply having him spawn with all his traps as Huntress spawns with all her hatchets; as well as making it so that you can struggle out of the traps but much like the Hook struggle, you can only do it 3 times, then you get downed. And make the traps black -- hard to find, easy to disarm.

  • An intriguing idea.

  • I quite like the design of The Huntress.
