Decisive Strike is extremely meta defining because its existence in a match forces a Killer to change their playstyle. So what if there was a perk that was even more meta defining.

Introducing my idea for the strongest anti-tunnel perk in the entire game:

    All For One

You cannot be killed or sacrificed until all Survivors in the trial have at least one hook state.

"What do you think you're doing? My friends still need me."

The threat of this perk would make camping or tunneling out an early kill impossible. All the sudden facecamping, insidious camping, setting 90000 traps in the basement and proxy camping instead of pressuring gens would all go away. Because it wouldn't be worth the effort or give any sort of advantage.

Killers would consider hooking all four Survivors before getting their first kill to be the standard and would never try to circumvent that. We all use BBQ anyway to monitor how many Survivors we've hooked, so good players probably would be fine with the change and bad players wouldn't be able to grief Survivors or cheese out wins.

    Will it counter slugging?

If anything in this game feels punishing for making good play it's this perk (from killer perspective).

There are countless times i perfectly mind gamed survivor and they just press one button and reset the chase, which ends up in dropping the chase or losing the generator.

For everyone saying it doesn't work most of the time, that's a lie, otherwise people wouldn't use it near as much as they do.

It rewards bad play. If it's used for distance it has absolutely no counterplay, killer can't do anything about it which is very unfair, and not to mention unfun when you know everyone has it, you know what they will do, but you cannot stop it.

What exactly can BVHR do to nerf Dead Hard? It's literally a hit or miss perk. I legitimately don't know how you can nerf a perk like that besides extending the exhaustion cool down.

In the QnA stream they said that there will be no major reworks and that they would focus on reworking perks and updating graphics on the mid-chapter patch.

    THANK YOU BEHAVIOUR!!!

Edit: "There are actually a “bunch” of perk updates planned for the next mid-chapter patch, and it’s likely that perk change “bundles” like this will become more frequent in the future. Typically, most perk changes, balance and quality-of-life updates will come in mid-chapter patches. They have made many and fairly frequent balance changes in past patches, but they also understand that questions like this are an indication that players are interested in seeing more of that sort of thing, so we can expect to see more changes to perks coming in the future."

I don't mind any major reworks, I also hope they'll fix some major bugs that's going on in consoles, especially PS4.

I've never done this in the past, but nowadays I'm starting to realize that sometimes, skipping a lobby that's potentially unhealthy, may save you some headaches.

I'd want to know what are your reasons for skipping them.

Me, for example, I never skip more than 1 lobby in a row, because I don't want to be waiting a long time until I play a game.

So some of my reasons are:

    • 2 or more toolboxes/flashlights
    • Steam profiles of clearly egocentric/cocky/disrespectful survivors

    What are your reasons?

I lobby hop whenever there's usually a SWF, key bringing and overall survivors that I know will be sweaty tryhards.

I think hatch needs balancing and D.C. needs to guarantee a black pip depending in how many

    Sounds nice.

  • Unfortunately not even the hatch can guarantee you'll not de pip. Even if everyone DCs, so I wouldn't say it rewards bad survivors. Not to mention it punishes the killer for no reason, they should have it where it one person DCs, it should give you more score than it already does, that way if 3 DC and one gets the hatch, it guarantees a black pop, same should go for survivor too, I hate when people DC it screws up the rest of the players, killer included.

  • It is not uncommon for me to have this too, server takes a ######### and we all get punished for it, very annoying and a slap in the face for people who never DC.

  • @Sunbreaker7 said:

BROKEN. Let me repeat that slowly so you catch that, Brooo-ooooo-keee-eeen.

    The new Leatherface can now:

    • Pallet loop without fear or effort with 3 full charges and even catch the looper on the first loop if they dont drop the pallet. So there is no real looping against leatherface now.
    • Leatherface can easily chase down anyone in open field while way behind and still catch the survivor by the end of the third charge of the chainsaw. You are pretty much dead if nowhere near a pallet or window, don't even try to spin dodge or do any fancy moves, leatherface got fuel in the chainsaw to still hit you even after many misses.
    • LeatherFace's infinite hook face camp zero chance rescue is still very much present.
    • Leatherface can chainsaw his way from basement all the way out of the shack and even to the other side of the outer window of the shack with 3 full charges, so good luck getting out of the basement even if you raid it with 3 other survivors. Again, leatherface got fuel to down the whole team in one go.
    • Leatherface can strike a borrowed time survivor with the chainsaw and catch them with the same sweep, rendering borrow time completely useless against this killer.

LeatherFace has rised from low tier to top tier in a single patch and he far outperforms any other killer in the game now, period. I am a main Leatherface player, I have played this killer the most out of all and still continue to do so. Despite being absolutely broken and having extremely fun playing him in this broken state, laughing how easy it is to down survivors now, even I can't put up with this disgust with a straight face and hope it to stay untouched.

Is this the change we wanted for him? I have to seriously put effort to lose a game on purpose when playing him now. Don't get me wrong, it's freaking fun to play the new Leatherface, I think the new reworked power is a step to the right direction in his design, but it's absolutely op, especially with addons.

I love that I no longer can accidently end my chainsaw charge prematurely in 99%, that was the best change about him. I also love that I can extend my sweep time if needed, no longer having to be 100% skin contact distance from the survivor in order to hope to down them with the chainsaw. It was something that made playing Leatherface a big chore as many could simply outrun him to a window or pallet, thus restarting the whole chase to 100% skin contact all over again. It was a big waste of time, so glad to see there is now new power to extend the sweep time when needed. However, the amount of time the leatherface can sweep is just redicilous, not to mention how fast he goes while sweeping.

I disagree Leatherface isn't as powerful as you claim it to be, as survivor he is still pretty counterable and we are able to complete gens with moderate map pressure. I like this bufff on him, but that alone isn't making him broken. If he dies facecamp gens just be rushing and the rest of escape unless he brings No One Escapes Death or a mori. And still playing as leatherface he's still around a mid tier killer with red rank survivors still able to counter him with ease.

  • @luvcraft said:

as the subject says, blinding the killer while he's carrying a survivor has been nerfed to the point that it's only possible with a purple flashlight with purple add-ons and a prevailing wind. There should not be a tome challenge to do this, and / or the mechanic should be reworked.

No its possible, as a killer main I can confirm survivors can still do it even with a yellow flashlight. I can't do it because I suck at saves.

  • @DwightOP said:

So from aaaaalll the complains about Billy you came up only with these little tweaks? That's it? You really just scratched the surface of the problems. Sure it's a tiny bit better now but it's not going to motivate me to continue maining Billy. It was just so predictable that you BHVR will either completely ignore the community or do miniscule tweaks to try keeping us quite.

Me and probably the majority of Billy mains will still drop him like this:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SZQZBR6ULUG8/5a41563-1.jpg

I'm not a fan of the overheat mechanic but I'll have to wait and see how it works out, though the new perks for him and leatherface will be nice. Can't wait to make survivors drop and then completely lose their keys.

  • Ouch dude, that sucks. This is one of the reasons I'm never nice as killer. I always use meta perks and high tier killers to counter survivors like that, and not feeling any sympathy if it ruins their match. Basically in order to "gut gud" you pretty much have to be a mean killer.

  • @clem1710 said:

You cage a survivor, he's insta saved but you don't even know where he is. You can lose all your momentum because of this lack of information. Thanks BHVR for making the new killer trash. At least give him a buff on another aspect of his power to compensate. It seems like he's just a weaker huntress now

I personally don't find it completely useless. Now that you can make a caged survivor move when you're too close you can do some serious trolling once you figure out the next spawn before other survivors make the rescue. I personally just hook once or twice before caging them, usually to avoid Borrowed Time or Decisive Strike twice so I can skip straight to Final Judgement. God I love that mori, quick and to the point, good when I need to quickly kill someone and get another survivor before they escape. :)

Found the boring tunnelling killer that even writes ggez against solo players in the after chat. Disgusting.

I don't need that rework to tunnel, I have plenty of other options to do that. And if consoles have end game chat, you bet your ass I'll do that. The salt must flow.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Oh my god I cant tunnel survivors anymore, the killer must be trash now. - Killer mains, always.

How about not playing like a scumbag?

#########, I don't need that cage rework to tunnel. And playing like a scumbag is pretty much how I'm rank 1, cause most of the time for me if I don't I usually get rekted by sweaty rank 1 SWF. And it usually is now I beat them. If anything it encourages me.

I'm stuck at 13 with killer. Red and purple as survivor. I find playing survivor easier, less stressful, and more relaxing than playing killer. I get BP, and pips almost effortlessly playing survivor. Play my ass off as killer and barely safety.

I know right? I find survivor much easier to level up than killer. Which is why I really have to work hard as killer, especially when even at low ranks I still encounter red rank survivors, cause no one wants to play killer when they can't even do something as simple as matchmaking correctly.

  • @SweetTerror said:

It's hard enough being a new player, but explain to me the reasoning behind this kind of a matchmaking setup. I consider myself okay as a level 15 killer using a level 10 Freddy, but the game must think I'm a pro since it decided to pit me against survivors that weren't even double digits and had max perks with ultra-rare add-ons.

Almost every killer match is like this for me. No wonder a majority of players prefer to play as survivor.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/020/LATFWSYGNBL3.jpg

Yeah, matchmaking is #########, I'm surprised I managed to become a rank 1 Killer and Survivor.

  • @bunnibeetea said:

I know it sounds like I'm whining, but how is this actually fair? How am I supposed to improve when I get stomped on as killer all of the time. I could either wait in lobby as a survivor for 10 mins to find a game that goes terrible, or instantly find a game as killer against red rank/rank 1 survivors? I genuinely would like some advice in how to improve, other than just "get good" as I've played this game for 3 years and this has always happened to me

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/472/17Y609961K4J.jpg

Eesh, that sucks buddy. For me I just go with Doctor now since I have learned you can never be nice in this game. Ever since his rework, he is a pretty strong killer. I even slug with tier 3 madness to secure my 4K. Do I feel bad for being cheap? No I don't, because experiences like that just give me virtually a complete apathy towards survivors, especially red ranks. Funny as I'm the opposite as survivor.

  • @Morgeese said:

I'm currently rank 1 survivor rank 3 killer and heres what I think. Killer's need to monitor gens. If that means playing hit and run with sloppy then you do what you gotta do. If you devote enough time to a survivor chase to allow them to gen rush you thats your fault not the devs for taking an annoying perk like ruin and making it less annoying. I played a rr swf lobby today as freddy and they got all but 1 gen done because i read their playstyle individually and as a team. I knew i needed to not over commit to 2 of them and that the other 2 would hide for a sec when i checked a gen and wait for me to leave. It was a tough game but I won with skill not a crutch perk that they could've easily cleansed anyways.

    False.

Rank 1 Killer and rank 4 surivor here, I personally don't really mind ruin from ether sides, I no longer use it for the fact that it can be cleansed, so I optimize for other gen protecting perks like Pop and Overcharge.

I personally don't think you're a bad killer if you use ruin, it's basically a wheelchair for a handicap person, the way I see it, new ruin is decent in regular ranks but it's downright useless in ranks since it can be cleansed quickly, then again same with the old ruin, ether way I just think the new ruin might not live up to the old one.

Doesn't really help that the poor match making makes me encounter purple, green and even yellow survivor ranks too, which I would just thumbs the killer up and leave. I personally think a bigger issue is the ######### matchmaking system that puts low rank killers to red rank survivors basically incentivising the killer to get ruin.

Then again I'm a biased killer main who doesn't give a ######### whether he's called a bad killer or not or what builds he used. Perhaps my take here can immediately get debunked here. Oh well I guess.

Looks like that killer got his kicks from you, I'm jealous.

  • @OMagic_ManO said:

It would be cool that he could:

    1) Pick up the trap like per regular.

    2) Kick the trap to make it launch open and spring wide. Shoving his foot in it to open it?

Yeah we need to buff Trapper badly.

  • I played today for 4 hours DBD only Killer today, and I play a very fair killer.

This ######### right here is one of the exact reasons why I will NEVER be a fair nice killer and cater to survivors. You have too many people in this game that are toxic and will trash talk to you regardless if they win or lose. While I personally will just laugh it off when someone tells me kill myself, I understand your frustration and hurt dude. I've been hospitalized for suicidal tendencies too, but in my personal opinion, just work on you, condemn the people that ######### talk you and commend those who actually defend you. Because I usually am a survivor that just plays nice and such and usually only trash talk a killer if they absolutely deserve it. If there was post game chat on consoles, you can bet your ass I will be nice to killers and give them a "Good Game" comment to them, regardless if I get camped, tunneled or such. Though if I do get mad and salty and end up disconnecting, I usually never blame the killer.

All and all, your comment is why I will never be a nice killer, survivors will never get that fair treatment from me, I don't need to camp but if will tunnel especially if a survivor is toxic and usually could care less about how I get my kills, and there are prestige 3 survivors that love to butt dance and such and happen to 4k them I'd love to mock them with the "GG EZ" quote I see them use, but yeah I am a very dirty killer, will do anything scummy to give my kills, besides camping though, that's just me begging to get gen rushed in that case. XD

But yeah man, focus on you and forget what those ######### say about you and your family, the only time you'd take them seriously is if they harass and stalk you, or worse case scenario, dox you. Regardless if you quit this game, I don't blame you, this along with other multiplayer games like CoD and GTA all have their toxicity and in those games, being nice is a sin and you will be punished for it. Take care and stay save my dude!

  • I usually could care less if I rank up to be honest, but for some reason I managed to keep ranking all the way up to Killer rank 1.

Hell I'm not even what people call a "Good killer" I call myself a dirty killer as I will tend to not give a ######### about how I get my kills and not care about skill, pisses off survivors cause in all honesty I love it when they complain and ######### cause it makes me laugh. Though I don't really camp to be honest and tunneling usually only happens if I happened to run into a survivor that has been recently unhooked.

If I'm the Doctor, Freddy, or using Deerstalker, I will slug when two survivors remain, no questions asked really. Then that can increase my chances to take a 4k victory...unless the dying survivor disconnects to give the other the hatch (Which is absolutely funny. XD)

Overall I do wanna see a new ranking system cause it's pretty easy to rank. I also REALLY want End Game Chat on console (I'm on PS4) cause I usually love reading what they have to say, whether it be salt cause I used "crutch perks" or tunnel, slug, etc. Or if someone just gives me a simple GG (which I will not show my toxicity to them cause they're actually being nice, and I also do like it.)

Can't wait for the next DLC to come on console! Take care.
