Agreed completely, this killer is extremely overpowered, needs to be reworked maybe even killswitched temporarily its getting ridiculous

exactly no counterplay equals no survivors playing this is actually nuts. At least nurse if you out play her she has fatigue. This killer you cant outplay.

  • I dont understand the mechanic of making unhooking un stoppable. It takes away counterplay for survivors unhooking against ranged killers. Survivors are still going to bm in other ways teabagging at the hook or whatever it may be they will still find a new way. Unless you make it where once the unhook has started no mater what stage the killer cant interupt it. This is a bad change.

  • Dead hard, off the record, ds, adrenaline. Such a fun build if you like chases but I will say you don't survive allot. Lol but allot of 3 man outs

  • Or better yet hypothetically what if we had a perk that if we are on a Gen it can't be regressed until the surv leaves no pain res no surge and we see your intent before the match starts and throw it on

  • Same the other way. If we survivors knew the killers intent of running 4 slow downs and we all switch to tool boxes with bnp and hf would killer be ok with that?

  • @ArkInk said:

This is an Asymmetrical Multiplayer game, it's two sides need to have differences because they don't play the game the same way.

True and they have those diff in pov and power. The killer is meant to be the power role which I believe they have with how strong the killer anti loop has become. No system should be hard countered by any other. Making it easy for the killer to know the survivors intent and hard counter it before the match had even started is detrimental to one side

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

I’m all down for making things fair so why don’t we make survivors 1st person too? Also make it a 1v1. This game balances itself by being unbalanced in certain ways. Survivors can see each others items and coordinate in the lobby using the lobby chat. Killers can see what items you bring and adjust. Fair.

Items are the only things that slightly counter act the killers power spike. The 4 v 1 argued is no longer valid as the most used killers have incredible anti loop. That argument world when you had wraith and trapper. Now the power spike for killers need a way to give survivors something and if I want to run a flashlight to help balance the power out I shouldn't be hard countered because the killer has to much info

  • So should we be able to see the killers 4 gen slowdown perks and adjust accordingly

  • NO this is different the pallet was completely down and i was done with the animation. Not the same thing

  • I would agree that the shard system needs an update for sure as it probably takes a bit to long. On the other hand you have to realize that this is a live service game. BHVR has to pay their employees everyday and pay for the likenesses of characters. Thats why i dont even bother with shards if i like the skin or the killer or survivor i just buy it. I enjoy the game and they need our financial support to keep the game going for the forseeable future.

  • @nars said:

or you could grab a tape

If the main counterplay is to hold a tape and deny the surv use of an item, thats broken immediatly. Items help counter act the strength the the killers power.

  • What cpu are you running with the 3050. You might have a bottle necking problem on your end how much ram are you using? Im running a 2060s with a i7 9700f and i have stable 120 fps on high settings. i see very little fps drop if at all most games. I would check your config to make sure your system isnt bottlenecked if you are having fps issues on such a non intensive game like DBD

We are actively looking into sources of frustration at the same time. As you've mentioned, we've already announced a system that will help combat facecamping, and we've also mentioned that we'll be looking into excessively long 3-gen situations as well.

That said, we cannot possibly solve every possible reason someone might have for disconnecting. Anyone who has been around for a while will know that sometimes people disconnect for the pettiest of things: They were the first to be chased, they got outplayed at a loop, or maybe they irrationally hate The Wraith for some reason. These are all things we cannot fix. We cannot make them invincible just because they might get upset if they are caught. Moreover, it's not possible for us to know what else is going on behind the screen. We can't tell if someone had a rough day at work, or maybe they've had a rough string of matches and they're carrying that negativity into their current one. To expect that every single disconnect is for a rational reason would be naïve of us.

And this also assumes that all disconnects are intentional. There are also legitimate connection losses that could cause someone to disappear. Much as I would love to have the power to make the world's internet perfectly stable, that is not something we can do.

Hey this is just a quick question on this subject. As i understand it bots will not fill in the case of killing on first hook. So im worried...most people when they do d/c is intentionally to make the match bad for the killer and survivors not as a time saver but out of spite. So when this goes into affect i feel like most people are going to just kill themselves on hook instead. Is there anyway to add bots to this situation as well?

The OP didn't specify on what a their "win" was, but I assumed they meant escaping, which is what I'm referring too when I said "winning". I think this game is more than just escaping and 4k's, so I personally don't care if I "win" or not, so I TRY to win with whatever goofy build I want to run, but I couldn't care less if that results in a "win" or "loss"

It doesnt even have to be a win. I just want a close competitive game. It just seems every game is everyone dies at 3 gens, or the killer get 2 hooks and everyone is out.

  • @Solomonkane said:

    Simply stop caring about winning

What a weird thing to say. To stop caring about winning theres no reason to play

  • I've been iri 1 for a week or so now. its not hard just try and be a good team mate and you will get it naturally

  • @Crowman said:

People have been saying this for years and the game is just fine.

i have been with this game for 3 years I promise you this is different. this game is dead without survivors

  • Also it gives flexability to run to exhaustion perks. If there is no tunneling or camping happening you can chose to not use it and have SB or DH.

  • @Peanits said:

I'm not going to try and convince you that one system is better than the other. That's ultimately up to you to decide, nobody can tell you how you feel.

HOWEVER, I will fact check those key points.

    1. The softcap is not easy to hit. We've stated many times that the distribution of players across MMR looks like a bell curve. There's very few people on the extreme low end, a lot near and around the middle, and then very few people on the extreme high end. There aren't many people at or above the softcap. Many people will claim to be there, but this is almost always incorrect. By comparison, it was much easier for people of all skill levels to hit rank 1 under the old system so long as they played enough each month.
    2. This isn't really the case. The matchmaker starts off very specific and gradually broadens its range the longer you wait for a match. The overwhelming majority of the time you'll be paired against people within a few points of your own rating. Folks who are at one of the extreme ends of the spectrum and playing during off-peak times for their region may have more variance between matches, but there's only so much a matchmaker can do (it can only work with what its got).
    3. Even if this is the case, the old system did not have any separation between Killers, your rank was shared between all Killers. I would hesitate to say that having some separation is worse than none at all.
    4. The system exists in a void. You never see it. You aren't rewarded for increasing it. You aren't punished for losing it. It is solely a hidden number to help find you opponents that are similarly skilled. If you decide to play more competitively to increase a number that you'll never see, that's totally fine and you can do so, but the system certainly is not encouraging it anymore than the old system which was actually shown to your before and after every match.

Again, not going to convince you that you should like one more than the other. Everyone wants something different out of matchmaking and nobody's really wrong.

I think it would help a lot of people if you showed your Facts. Right now we just have to take your word this is the case. Is there a chance we will get to see this stats in a presentation?

  • He has no counterplay and takes away the only thing survivors have to defend themselves.

  • It really doesnt matter you are just going to get hard tunneled out at 5 gens anyways!

  • Yes thats a terrible band aid change that makes no sense. Simple fix is make the sprint burst go to the unhooked and make the exhaustion effect go to the unhooker, i think this perk under those conditions should be a activate perk by the unhooker so they can choose to use it in a stratigic manner. Thats an easy and useful change.

Actually it should give the unhooked survivor 180s of endurance that is not disabled by performing conspicuous actions, a permanent 10% speed boost and also decisive strike for ten minutes. Then it'd be balanced.

Ahhhh sarcasm.......You believe its a healthy perk as is?

Did they rework it? If so what does it do now and I agree I like your idea.

Yeah they did, now it give you a sprint burst when the killer starts to pick up a teammate LAME

  • No not to lol

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

I agree with this. I feel you should only have BT in EGC if you bring BT. The basekit BT should deactivate like with OTR and DS.

Why should BT be active at egc if you bring the perk but not OTR and DS?

3 matches in a row now to where the killer gets his hands on me and then refuses to leave the area of the hook. i can watch paint dry i can stare at the clock i can do literally anything and get the same result as i do playing the game in its current state, and unfortunately that leads me to come to the conclusion that until this is fixed i might as well just not play for the time being.

I don't understand why people are mad about tunneling. I would much rather be in chase then on a generator. Tunnel me please!

  • If you dont rage quit on the regular one honest disconnect wont be 48 hr ban it will be a 45 second ban. Stop rage quitting!

  • @Peanits said:

I wouldn't say that negates the reason behind the change at all. Lightborn is and always has been a counter to flashlights. The fact that flashlights might be easier for a newer player to pick up and learn does not change the fact that Lightborn still wins in a game of rock paper scissors.

I guess my worry is that most killers do not worry with light born because 90 percent of the survivor base cant use flashlights effectively, timing being a major part of that. I'm assuming there will be a huge spike in light born users when this drops. I just don't see the point in a perk that completely counters an item(i know it always has, but was never used maybe 1 in 100 games would i come across a lightborn user)

  • i guess im not getting my point across. They mad a change to flashlights to make them more viable to newer players, but with lightborn being used way more as a reaction the change will be worse than the original.

  • The killers objective is to kill survivors. As long as you are doing that....whats the problem?

  • To be honest there is no such thing.

  • I main nurse and i cant remember the last time i kicked a gen. This perk will not change that, we need to stop getting perks nerfed because of one killer.

  • @MaudetteClorel said:

or am I tripping cause I get paired with people who have 17 hours in dbd while I have 3k?

Just because you have 3k hours in the game doesn't mean your any good. Maybe you are playing with people with 300 hours because the level your playing at!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/352656/i-beg-you-all-to-play-only-nurse-and-to-abuse-her

You do know that 80% Nurse players will lose playing her ?

She has so high skill cap and it's out of limit for most players.

Did you also knew that only 1% can get a winstreak on her, i am an avrg Nurse player ( around 1k hours ) and i can tell you i lose more often then win, mostly because map design carry most survivor games and i don't have time to chase everyone. Its very difficult to hit EVERY blink

I main nurse thats all i play because i find her mind games with survivor more fun then running around a loop until they drop the pallet repeat! You cannot say survivors are winning because of map design. Nurse negates any map design issues other killers have!

  • This is the problem people have. I did all the challenges organically and got them all done. There is plenty of time to get them done, but people insist on doing the challenge on the first map after selecting it. Just play the game and these challenges will do themselves.

  • Please no if you made DS basekit survivors would do less for the team then they are already doing. Standing around for 60 seconds "dont want to waste my ds"!

  • I play as nurse most of the time when i play killer as i just like the back and forth mind games that are played between killer and survivor. On the other hand i love playing against nurse as survivor, best killer to go against in my opinion. I think if survivors actually played nurse i played good survivors they could understand what it takes to outplay her, instead of just complaining because you ran into the open and got downed.

  • Position yourself with the killers head in the middle of your screen. when you click the flashlight it will be right no him.

  • I dont know i have a 2060 super and have no problems on survivor or killer(I play nurse mostly). 120fps ultra settings no problems.

  • @xni6_ said:

some nurse complaints are valid, but she should remain the certified swf stomper since no other killer can do that. necessary changes tho are blink hits being special attacks, and her not seeing auras when charging her blink. thisll fix the whole having to nerf perks so that nurse cant abuse them thing, and keep nurse basically equal strength

That would take away a big section of perks for nurse. You rarely get a hit without a blink. I play nurse quite a bit(I dont use the addons as i agree they are a problem and need a change). Making her blink attacks special tho is a little much in my opinion as it makes a killer unable to use perks.

  • I cant believe people are still complaining about this perk after the change. NOED is perfectly fine now! Coming from a 100% survivor main!

  • I dont understand the hype on COH. I mean its a good perk, but i cant tell you how many times people search for the totem put up COH which takes time for it to immediately get snuffed then they go back put it up again and over and over. I would take someone with selfcare over the COH re blessing mikela any day!

  • Wow the hate! I was running hyperfocus stackout selfcare and BK yesterday. 4 stacks of stackout makes selfcare crazy fast. Endgame where you need a heal to help get people out its clutch.

  • A lot like i dont play at all

  • Its real simple really....All those perk counter in someway the killers ability to create pressure. Thats it!
