  • I've logged in today, and I finally received them too. :)

  • Yeah, still waiting too.

  • Favourite: Probably the grind. I like levelling characters, unlocking teachables, getting iri shards.

Least: Boring Tome challenges, aka "Hide withing 10 meters of the killer as Detective Tapp for 20 seconds." I wanna have fun, not semi afk.

  • The old system was terrible, in my experience. I would hit red ranks all the time with ~100h, and have matches that were an absolute joke. I've actually stopped playing after 300h or so, because it just was THAT bad.

I was not good in chases, at all, I could only do gens and the game thought I was as good as a rank 1 killer with 900h+ or more hours. I would always stop playing every time I hit red ranks for months on end. It used to get so bad I would have rank 15 teammates with less than my playtime against such killers too, resulting in streaks of losses lasting days on end.

Ranking up was way too easy, the skill gap between red ranks survivors compared to killers was huge.

Now, as bad as some matches go, the game is actually playable. Some are still losses from the start, but I cannot expect the system to be 100% accurate. Regardless, the SBMM has actually improved my experience.

  • I still don't understand how is it better to waste 2 weeks on this, instead of releasing a code for everyone from the beginning.

  • So far I am getting more people throwing because of glyph challenges. They do stick around, but they run with the killer after them at the glyph, and end up on death hook right away. I feel for them, because I wanna get them done too, but damn... Maybe go back there later?

Luckily I haven't experienced that many players disconnecting, but then again, the majority learned to kill themselves on hook when things don't go their way, so...

No shards here eather. Its funny how people who just bought Bubba are getting shards but not the ones who have had him for long time and actually played him.

They also, apparently, managed to compensate someone with 50k shards. Granted, he waited till yesterday too, but damn, how do you do that...

  • @Eschatologue said:

Did anyone actually receive shards in this wave?

    Still no shards for me.

  • Oh no we are starting to lose it, the wait is too much.

  • And another 2 will pass, because it is weekend.

  • I actually wonder if anyone at all got them today, since they sent them out again and I've yet to see anyone confirming they arrived.

Either way, we are not getting them this week either. Cool.

  • A code would have fixed this from the start. Players who didn't own or play Bubba got them, and others claim they got 12k. Does it even matter at this point?

  • "We've sent out another batch of rewards to players who were missed. You may need to restart your game for the rewards to appear. We'll continue searching for anyone who may have slipped through the cracks to ensure that everyone is properly compensated."

Just now. Still nothing. What a joke.

  • Visual bug. Try restarting, or play a match.

  • Many people do. They updated the forum notice recently again, we're still waiting for now.

  • It's, apparently, just a visual bug.

If you play a match/restart, it should go back to normal from what others have said.

  • Yeah, it would be nice to know what to do now, since the last fix didn't do it.

  • You said you chased the unhooked person for 20 seconds to counter BT, but also that your grab got cancelled into a hit on who was trying to save. So why didn't you just down the person who saved and forced the guy with DS out?

  • @Kore said:

Wait, for some reason i just got the shards! i just logged in and got them, is it fixed for everyone?

They apparently "fixed it", which really just means a few got them and many others still didn't. Wish it was fixed for everyone.

  • Can you guys just give us a code? At this point I'd rather have everyone get them, instead of not getting them at all.

  • Still nothing.

For anyone who doesn't use Twitter, here's the two updates we got from there today:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/85BBCB5378KQ/image.png

Second update is for the missing cells though.

    Actually both are.

  • "Quick update: We are still working on a solution for those of you who are missing your Iridescent Shards, and we’ll keep you posted as soon as a fix is available."

Just posted now on Twitter. So we keep on waiting, how nice.

Okay guys just stopping by to say that Mandy will be back to continue to respond tomorrow and provide status updates as far as I am aware, but since she's UK time and it's currently 1:30 in the morning it's understandable she isn't on currently. If you don't get a PM immediately if not sooner, don't panic yet. When it hits around tomorrow is when the true panic should start.

    Thank you. <3

I can send a private message to those who've not received them yet but have played as LF. I will need to know who to send the message to.

I have not received the shards yet either. If you could send a message whenever possible, I will send my cloud ID. Thanks.

  • Yes, I like collecting event cosmetics, and I finally have a bunch of P3 characters where I can get and keep event items!

Yeah, but you will never end up cleansing all totems on a match, or yes?

And what about those situations when you unlock chests and all you get is flashligs or tooboxes but no med kits (It happens sometimes, not every time but it does)

I do cleanse all. If I don't get them all, some random in the team will find the remaining 1-2 and do it themselves. I don't mean to sound rude and against Boon totems, but very often those players will bless multiple in a row for points, and waste a lot of time. I've seen teammates die on hook because I was in a chase, and someone decided to Boon instead of getting a save.

Plus, yeah, sometimes you don't get to use all perks in a match. I run power struggle + flip flop, but I cannot expect my team not to throw pallets so when I go down I can potentially make use of the combination.

It isn't ideal to have a wasted perk, but on the other end, healing can be done in so many ways. CoH isn't the only solution.

Also, you get items in the bloodweb?

  • I pair up Inner Healing with Small Game so yeah, I generally cleanse all the totems I find to avoid the surprise NOED at the end.

Cleansing all totems also doesn't stop anyone from healing each other, and quite honestly, there are way worse challenges such as escape through the hatch, or complete 3-4 gens in the same match. The totem one is probably the least annoying of them all. You can also take medikits to heal up.

It wasn't the guy's fault, but the entire team preferred to rely on a perk instead of remembering about basic game mechanics. Next time find a teammate, and heal each other.

  • When it ends up being me and another guy, I generally just go find the killer and suicide on hook because I have no patience to wait for my teammate to come and get me if I go down, or help me doing gens. I know they won't, as they're usually very very far hiding and waiting for me to die. I do try a bit, but if nothing is happening then it turns into a big waste of time.

Many times I've tried to push the last 1 or 2 gens with another teammate, and they'd end up hiding in shack and what not, while I had to bounce like a ping pong ball between gens. Playing as a duo, me and my fiancé can easily tell each other what the team is up to, and if they really do nothing I'll give up and go next.

If they really want to hide for whole minutes because hatch is that important, so be it. You don't really have to be part of it, sucks but you cannot make randoms help if they don't want to.

  • Some of the challenges are boring and stupid. I don't blame the players trying to complete them though.

I need the bp, I wanna complete the challenges, so I will equip whatever I need to get them out of the way. I don't throw matches, but if I have an easy way of completing one, I will go for it.

In my two years of playing i can count how many times i bled out.

I bet killer had some rough matches before. So i don´t know if it is really that big of a problem.

Also same to survs that should not waste the whole time of the EGC at the gates waiting.

The only difference being the Killer can walk to the exit and force everyone out, if you're being slugged with your whole team all you can do is stay on the floor.

You see the timer when the game ends. Where is the hostage?

And the killer simply counts to his win.

Probably isn't the right wording for it, I just wouldn't know how else to define the situation.

It is still 4 minutes of being uncapable of playing the game because the other side simply refuses to end the game when they could. I suppose I can just leave it at being an annoyance.

  • It's 4 minutes the Killer purposely makes you waste. If NO ONE in the team has a single way to get back up, the game should give you an instant bleed out option to move onto the next game.

I don't even know why it doesn't count as griefing/holding the game hostage, considering you have one side actively preventing the other from playing the game at that point.

Comparing it to Survivors standing at the gate is silly, you can literally walk up to them and force them out to end the game when you decide to.

  • I'd like for them to create different types of mori, and have them maybe substitute the 200 charms we get in the rift. I like charms, but I would love being able to earn a different mori for the various original Killers we have.

It would add some variety to really old killers, since we have been seeing the same animations for 5 years.

Environmental kills would probably need so much work to avoid being silly, I have played multiple games where fall damage is a thing and sometimes hopping down a small hill would just insta kill you for no reason. Not a bad idea though, if they can make it work I am not against it at all.

  • And here I am using Inner Strength and helping Killers with their Pentimento stacks.

My builds are a joke 99% of the time compared to the players I meet, and the few times I've attempted to use DH I would dash into walls, never again. It's fine if players are only here to win, but I do agree that it can lead to having a super bad time and eventually having no fun when it doesn't work. I've reached the point where I only play to have fun, if I am not enjoying it I finish the match I am in and take a break. It probably also get extra frustrating when you're using meta perks, tryharding as much as possible and still lose.

However some perks are just so bad that you actively set yourself up to lose most of the time, a big rework for useless perks on both sides would maybe go a long way. There is always going to be players who only follow the meta, but I'd rather have 100+ fun and kinda good perks, instead of 16 super good and the rest is just barely usable.

  • They suck, but I doubt they will ever go away. I do not even bring flashlights in my games, but I do happen to lurk on Twitch sometimes and witness the horror that those games are. 2-3 players with flashlights, 2 lockers and built to last are awful.

Whoever works on maps should stop designing them to have 2 lockers next to each other to allow counter play, like injuring and chasing off whoever wants to pull it off.

Edit: Worded it poorly. They suck only in the case of a double locker situation.

  • I just ignore it. If they're at the gate, I actually go get some coffee or just take it as a break from sitting. They want to waste time, so be it, no one says you have to be glued to your chair.

I don't try to be nice, but I do try my best to never annoy who I am playing against, no matter if killer or survivor. The only times where I can say I am nice, is if someone unhooks infront of me, so I will get the hook trade and nod at guy who had no choice but get saved 2 meters away from me.

Honestly, either chase them out or go do something else while you wait. Let them bm each other, it won't be fun if you're not there looking at them.

  • I only play Ghost Face, other killers just aren't fun to me.

Killers are locked into what killers they play and cant switch out so survivors should be held to the same standards. TBH that's not a bad idea but people would complain that they get locked into using a build they ment to change blahs blahs. I would make it like you said it adds a few seconds to the timer if they change out items at the last second, or just set a locked time where they cant switch out items or characters. Say timer starts at 40 secs at 20 secs survivors are locked so if they do the switch a roo the Killer has time to react.

I see your point, but it would be their fault for joining a lobby without checking their character first. Everyone has infinite time to equip whatever they want before they look for a match.

If it were for me, the only things you could interact with in the lobby would be chat, bloodweb and ready/unready button. By watching my fiancé play Killer for a long time it isn't a very common occurrance, at least in his games, but when it happens it's just plain stupid and unfair towards Killers. No one should ever be forced into something they did not ready up for, especially if the game doesn't give you the time to react and equip something to counter this last second changes.

Apologies for taking the thread off track.

There is no risk to run it. Killers can see if they have Flashlights in the lobby or not, so they can run it of they want to or not. The only risk is if they play the annoying switch out to a different character before the match starts. That happened to me a few times, no survivor had a flashlight I switched lightborn out with something else and at 3 secs before match starts 3 of them change and now have 3 flashlights and me without lightborn. That match was a bully filled hell, needless to say I was watching stuff on YouTube while they held the match hostage for 40 mins.

This is something the devs should have addressed years ago tbh. Everyone should be locked with the items/add-ons/perks they picked and joined the lobby with, OR add 15 seconds to the lobby timer when a Survivor swaps character so the Killer can choose to stay or leave.

Edit: To prevent lobbies being held hostage for the fun of it, based on the timer idea, make it so you can only swap your character once and then it's locked in for the match.

  • I think it is a pretty decent perk. It counters some survivor perks, like flashbang and blast mine, and items. So what if they stop trying to flashlight save? You're still getting value because they cannot rescue whoever is on your shoulder, unless you walk through a pallet or they take too many hits.

But it definetly isn't a perk worth being upset about. And if someone does get mad about it, who cares? Seriously.

  • No. I just make sure to contribute enough to help and get a good amount of bloodpoints while doing so.

If I die, so be it. It's not about winning and losing to me, it's about doing everything I can to ensure the whole team has the best chance to escape.

  • Fun perks and tome challenges, honestly. Also I like stacking up bloodpoints for huge perks shopping sprees, and saving shards for new outfit pieces.

After a while you just need to make your own fun. If you aren't enjoying your time, forcing yourself will just make you dislike the game more.

  • Cheryl P3 because I like the cosmetics. I will most likely do the same for Ghost Face.

I have a bunch of others on P1 or P2, but that was a waste of bloodpoints on my part. I don't think I will prestige any character that isn't licensed for the cosmetics anymore, there are so many cosmetic choices that will result in me not using the bloody ones anyways.
