Do you have any other ideas?

Some of the best anti-tunnel mechanics are in fact killer perks.

Old BBQ was one of them, as it not only took you away form the hook with it's info (so you didn't have the opportunity to tunnel) but it also encouraged hooking all survivors at least once before the end of the game. You could theoretically still tunnel and claim this, but without a 4K being a foregone conclusion, tunnelling could result in you losing a stack.

Additionally, perks like Gift of Pain, Make Your Choice, etc. also either dissuade against tunnelling or flat out don't work if you do.

More perks like this, particularly if they're strong enough to be considered meta, would result in a decrease in tunnelling. Of course they wouldn't eliminate it entirely, what if a killer doesn't want to run these perks? But some, maybe many, will, and those killers won't tunnel.

One perk format idea I have is:

    • Hooking a survivor for the first time grants one token.
    • Sacrificing or killing a survivor removes one token.

You then grant a powerful effect for these tokens such as:

    • Each token increases your movement speed by 1% (this would be like permanent Bloodlust Tier 1 if you hook all survivors but don't kill any)
    • Each token increases regression when kicking a gen by 2% (you regress a gen by 10.5% when kicking a gen if all four survivors are hooked and alive)
    • When this perk has 4 tokens, you see the auras of any survivors within 8 meters. (all or nothing, hook all survivors for wall hacks until one is eliminated)

Survivors would counter this by not unhooking the first survivor hooked. Making the killer perk useless. Also completely unfair for that player who had the misfortune if being found / downed first. Weren't we all trying to increase solo q survivor chances of escaping?

  • Hag is always fun to play against.. i never win, but it is fun.

I don't like Booger Boy Wesker

No, it sucks because I literally can't do anything. And it already is used for game design, that's pretty much why locker saves were removed. Were they strong? No. Was that team gonna win? Probably not. But it wasn't fun to face so it got removed.

I am literally better off going to make a sandwich while waiting to bleed out

    What kind of sandwich?

  • If you use coup it makes it better.

Coup, Fired Up, unrelenting I think? The one where there's no cool down from basic attack... and then your fave perk. I hate flashlights so you can guess which one I use.

  • Unicorns!! You should get unicorns.

  • I play both survivor and killer. I do have a main for each, but I mix it up if I get a challenge for a specific survivor or killer.

  • None... I don't want survivors or killers to talk... I hate it.

  • Maybe his internet went out and then came back. Or the batteries in his remote died and he had to go to circle K to get more... or he had to take a dump and his kid just held you there cos his kid is 5 and doesn't know how to play... and it was DC or poop his pants or put the game on hold... maybe her gramma fell and couldn't get up... and she had to wait for life alert to respond... or maybe the gamer was just a dbag...

  • Killers can't body block but survivors can?

So I think were talking about two different things. I am talking about early game insta suicide. This isnt were at 5 gens and the killer has 6 hooks suicide. This isnt the game is over suicide. This is "I didnt like that I got chased first so I want a different game where that didnt happen". Like the game just started bro you havent lost yet.

But if you find me and Feng 30 seconds into the game because Feng blew the geni and you down and hook me while Feng hides in a locker 6 meters away and then Feng exits the locker and runs AWAY as soon as you go away and leaves me on the hook and Dwight is in the basement squating in the corner and Yun is on a gen at the far end of the map... I don't get a bonus for hanging out waiting to die... I'm going to try for a 4% and then just die. Call it hook suicide, but I call it getting on with the next trial.

  • If i can send messages at all cos I'm on xbox, I always say gg to the killer. And if I can message the other survivors I send " Let's go" if we escape. And even if i dont escape and they do. If we all lose i send BLNT. When lm killer if I lose I send gg if I can but if I win as killer I don't say anything now because survivors think it's bragging

  • Trying to learn how to play on PC. Killer is easier. Survivor is impossible

  • You got more bloodpoints than 3of the survivors... isn't that a win? I would count it as a win if it was a very skilled group. Seems like I always get matched with way higher level players when I'm killer or survivor so if I do my best and get good bloodpoints I win.

I think survivors need to start being able to see other survivor perks. Not sure about the killers going in blind though.

This is a good idea. 👍 it would help solo queue survivors. Promote teamwork even if they're not on Coms. Would definitely eliminate a lot of misery for solos.

I mean, if he just decided "screw it" and started hooking, we'd have been boned without a prayer. The other two died at 2 gens.

He just absolutely, 100%, completely refused to hook until the gates were almost open.

Yeah. That's dumb. No bloodpoints! T3 is fun but can't just stock down and mori at endgame. Might get the 4k on a good map but still earn less than 10k blood points. Not a good win.

  • Boo, that Meyer's perks don't go with those add ons! I see why you escaped

  • Nurse mori is good from both 1st and 3rd person. Dare I say the best mori?

  • @supersonic853 said:

I assume someone popularized this so now people are trying it. Using ring drawing and the iri to cycle tps as much as possible to fill peoples bars up. Then proceed to repeatedly slug them to force the spread through ring drawing slug heals. Then just mori people when they get full. It makes sadako very scary I'll give it that considering the 2 matches ive faced against it today were 3ks. Personally i don't endorse slug as a playstyle but sadako can apparently do it well. Anyone else try/face this build?

I've used the slug to spread condemn strat all along. It isn't new just got popular when sadako mains saw it was effective. Now it will go bye bye... I mean there are other ways to spread condemn other than slugging but the mori will be no more so what will be the point of condemn?

I don't mind it as a whole, but if it goes live without changes to Twins, double locker flashlights and spots on maps where you can't pick survivors up it's going to be a Boil Over level disaster with people just trolling killers for weeks.

That's my only concern. Bully /swfs all with boil over and saboteur just running to hook voids and forever wigging free, picking themselves up, sabotaging closest hook. I guess if you're a good enough killer to get all survivors down in 22 Seconds it will trigger the end game Mori, but I can see this being abused by swfs & bullies and holding the game hostage if they never do gens.

Or TTVs will make it some sort of challenge where they can see how long they can keep it going. Like when they see how many times they can put the killer in the hole. Or how many times 1 of them can get downed and crawling front of a locker and head on the killer over and over again. Or how many times they can dumb Tech and blind the killer before their flashlight runs out.... never touching a gen. How many other streamer challenges are there that hinder the natural progression if the game? Oh yeah... lots of them... And this will be another challenge that everybody will think is funny and it will go on and on yet SLUGGING is the problem because it hinders the natural progression of the game. Okay.

On the other hand I think it will be great for solo players, which I am. Not having to wait for a pickup that will never happen is better than both no pickup and an unhook that will never happen.

  • So now every boil over will run to the corner 🙄 and killers are forced to pick up and lose a down they worked for. Terrific

  • For 3 nights in a row now I've come across survivors that are sabotaging Hooks with no toolbox and no Sabotage perk, There is also no cool down so they can just sabotage hooks one right after the other. They also run just a little too fast for being injured. I'm not talking about when you 1st hit them and they get a speed rush or adrenaline perk, Or dead hard, I'm talking about I am inches away from Downing them and they start suddenly running toward the gate and are moving way too fast To be normal . Also when I'm playing Myers or ghostface and stalking, some of them have no aura Which aint right.

  • I slug if they run to the corner and have boil over?

Why would I pick up if I can use them as bait?

Survivors should go do gens and leave my pet slug alone?

  • Subtle cheating is problem. Just last night a survivor sabotaged a hook without a toolbox or a perk. And no cool down so could sabo every hook I tried to reach. Not too subtle

All I've stated is that under certain circumstances, doing a 3 gen is bannable. Not my fault you and everyone responding to my initial comment lacks comprehension skills.

    Well, there we are then.

  • If their prestige level is a few higher than mine then I'll play but I'm not gonna play against somebody who's 10 or 15 levels above me. And I always ditch the lobby if there is TTV. Their entire game is to make everybody else look like an a**.

  • Why show me this? I know 3 gen strat. Part of that 3 Gen Strat is to down all of you slug you and then let you bleed out. That is the strat. It's not the killer's fault that it took an hour. And if the killer is slugging you maybe it's because they suspect you have DS or deliverance or slippery meat. All I'm hearing is that you're mad that the killer is using a strategy that counters your strategy and winning.

  • Maybe their playing a challenge they made up themselves. Like when survivors challenge themselves to see how many head ons they can make happen, or how many times they put the killer in the hole. Or how many times they can make the killer eat a flash bang.. those survivors are hindering the natural progression of the game, too. Is that reportable?

  • Yup low on med kits in the bloodweb. Thought it was just me.

  • @Shaped said:

    It was me.

Me too..... he he. I've got like 50!

  • Twins I hardly see. Freddy after that. Mostly see the new killer who I call " blonde a-hole" and Nemesis. All the others I get a good mix of.

  • Survivor: For the People, Reassurance, Deliverance, Adrenaline

I'll switch out FTP for Resilience if there are a lot of med kits in lobby.

Killer 1: Infectious Fright, Coup de Grace, Fired Up, Corrupt Intervention

Killer 2: Corrupt Intervention, Unrelenting, Fearmonger, Fired Up.

Killer3: Infectious Fright, Rancor, Hex: Thrill, Sloppy Butcher

If I see more than 2 flashlights in lobby I'll switch a perk out for Lightborn.

  • I think it's where they subtlety cheat and hop forward when you're trying to hit them and everybody's gonna pretend like it's a dead hard

I know suiciding/DCing/AFKing has been a problem for a while now in tandem with excessive Camping/Tunneling but something about tonight has really just been awful tonight. Out of about 10ish games I can think of two games where everyone had a chance to have fun. One of those two was a 4k, but we all actually had the agency to make meaningful decisions and play. Rest has been getting dunked on by camping killers or survivors that just really don't want to be there.

In my last solo queue of the night the lobby had 4 PC's. One person asked 'Please just don't DC on first hook.'

    We didn't.

    The Killer did.

    Didn't see that coming.

Really sucks because it was the first Pyramid I've seen in so long. God I was so thrilled. Excited even. I wanted so badly to run up and get his attention. To lovingly stroke his exposed chest while he brought down his sword upon me in indifference. I had to restrain and resist myself for the good of the team. I really wanted to get one good game in tonight and I couldn't do that if I let base instincts take over like when you want to boop a Pig more than anything even when you know it'll hurt.

Maybe he needed a little love though. Wish it could've been me to give it to him. In the post game lobby my team had to console me. 'Men always leave you in the end.' Some truth to those words, but I didn't think it would've been so fleeting.

Question. Are the people who don't want survivors to ######### on first hook because you know your teammates are NOT coming for you, the same people that think there should be an option to ######### if slugged or allow a survivor to kill another survivor if slugged or simply if another survivor is doing poorly you can help the killer kill the survivor who is not good for their game?

  • Achievements? I'm still trying to learn how to use a flashlight!

Also nurse is too hard for me. I'll never get any of those achievements

  • @Bran said:

I definitely don't love the game. I won't downplay your experiences, but I just cannot see how anyone who isn't bias could live the game.

There are just too many negatives for me to truly enjoy the game, but I guess your will is just stronger than mine when it comes to Dead By Daylight. Your just the better player.

I am a horrible player! I lose most of the time. But for some reason I still love it. Maybe because I think of coworkers that have made my workplace a living hell and try my hardest to hook survivors while I think " you shouldn’t have talked to me like that in front of my patient" STAB! :)

Try that. Maybe you'll find it fun again.

  • Tonight alone I've been left for dead by a swf, Face camped tunneled and then an AFK killer who destroyed my pip and I still love this game

I feel as if a lot of people are not disliking the game because they want to, but because there are so many things that could be better.

People are disappointed by lots of things this game includes.

It took a really long time for the 'meta' to be 'shaken up', despite it not being shaken up at all for the most part.

But for a lot of people including myself, licenses can at time be very disappointing. From buggy releases, to very weak releases of very popular/iconic characters like Sadako, there's a lot to be disappointed by in this game.

It's a common misconception to say the majority of fans truly 'hate' the game, the more accurate word in my opinion would be disappointed.

    You misunderstood the assignment

  • @deckyr said:

well. you know for a fact exactly what the killer's seeing, and so you can infer what they might be thinking. you can also place them more deliberately.

i'm assuming this thread is about "What exactly is the value of Self-Aware?" and aside from being able to use your scratch marks against the killer, the bonus walking speed also helps you slip away undetected and remain stealthy a lot.

it's one of the trick perks, along with dance with me, diversion, deception, etc. but it isn't immediately obvious that it's a trick/mindgame/false info perk until you play with it a few times.

Pardon me if the title of this discussion doesn't meet your approval.

So if a survivor knows how their movements affect their scratch marks and can control that, it is a waste of a perk slot.

  • Wow, is this thread an essay contest or what?

  • Yes This Is A Great Idea. Stand Near The Killer And Point. Don't Run From The Killer. Lay Down On The Ground And Play Dead. The Killer Can Help You If Necessary. This Will Make The Killer Feel Bad. SO SO BAD.

  • Try a more stealthy killer like Sadako or Mike. Easy and fun to play because you can sneak up on survivors on gens and just grab them. And just learn to mind game. Learn the maps, learn where you can walk backwards to confuse them... it takes time.

  • @Mr_K said:

You no longer depip down a grade and still not happy.

    Nope 😁🤣🤣🤣

  • @Count_Dooki said:

In my personal opinion I think the action of “de-pipping” with grade progress should be eliminated. Especially when it comes to survivors and solo queues but to make things easier just implement it for all parties.

Too many factors play into whether or not you progress in grade through dbd. For solo survivors you are at the mercy of your team. It doesn’t matter how well you play. If your team is jacked up at best you will stabilize your current pip. Most commonly you will lose progress and time.

So I think survivors and killers should no longer “de-pip”. You either earn a pip or you don’t but you shouldn’t lose any.

I lose pips all the time rt afk killers. Unfair. I work hard to rank up but can never get past GII. Granted I work a 45+ hr a week job and a family to take care for, And can only play in the evenings . Which is why it is so unfair. If I were a professional DVD player I would be iridescent all the time.

We should NOT lose pips , plus the whole pip system is really just to award bloodpoints now, no one else sees our rank now right? it rewards full time DBD players and that's it.

  • The only time I clam slam is at the gate when a killer was tunneling or face camping and I managed to escape anyway.

As killer if someone keeps tea bagging me and I kill them I do what I call the clam spread which is I stand over them and spin.... very satisfying

The teabagging only pisses me off when it was a SWF which is likely to win anyway and they're just being extra mean. In which case I've learned not to see them off at the gate.

  • Too hard to choose! Kate, or Rebecca, Sadako or Michael

  • Note that I've only been playing DBD for about 8 months. Kate is my survivor main. I just switched out WOO for the new Rebecca perk Reassurance just to be more if a team player... I realized I don't need WOO anymore now that I have more experience. So if you're already good at running the killer, you wouldn't benefit. Boil over is okay but not worth unlocking Kate for when you could pick it up in the store for shards. Dance with me is useless. I play Kate but with none of her own perks anymore.

  • Its generally in the wee hours of the night. I couldn't sleep at 1am and the bonus was on killer 100%

  • I actually like this map🤣🤣
