Ah yes, you mean the laughable 14 seconds it takes to cleanse the totem? Damn, I've had it all wrong then. Legion is best killer confirmed. So get this. He has this really interesting ability that lets him stab people, and wouldn't ya know it. When they get stabbed they have to rub themselves for 12! WHOLE! SECONDS! WOW! And bruh, get this. If you slap on this purple add on he has that 12! WHOLE! SECONDS! get bumped to 14.5 FRIGGIN! SECONDS! OH MY GOD! And you can hit everyone with it. THEY'RE ALL WASTING SO! MUCH! TIME! Everyone wastes the entire game away! Holy Guacamole! It's SO broken! Kinda weird though how people call him one of the weakest killers in the game. I wonder why?
”The totem”? You know there can be up to 5 of those dulls to prevent it, right? Terrible comparison to Legions power, not the same thing at all. Ok, so you are saying there’s no difference in time with a game where survivors spend time cleaning multiple dulls to prevent NOED vs completely ignoring them. Gotcha. Killer receives no benefit whatsoever with that time spent not on gens. Makes perfect sense.
I don’t think you know what high risk/high reward even means.

NOED is completely counterable, and is high risk high reward. Second chance perks, the only way to counter them, well, is to wait or slug or don't hit the same person twice, and if they use this aggressively, like in his match where he was body blocked by the bt unhooked surv and then DS'd, near the exit gate, well if he left him on ground, he would just crawl out the exit gate, the second guy probably already left. There was no counter to what happened. Thats the problem. Second chance perks "counters" punish the killer, and playing into them punishes the killer, and thats the problem when they're used aggressively. No counter except for "get f'd" is poor design. Not a single killer perk that gives as much of an advantage as taking away a hook like second chnces do is in the game, and the ones that are in the game are completely counterable by totems or adaptive playstyle, like devoir hope or noed or ruin or pop, they are all counterable.
NOED high risk/high reward?! Absolutely not. There’s no risk whatsoever. If it doesn’t activate, that means the survivors gave you time cleansing totems, so you still benefited. High risk means running something that may give you no value at all. NOED is basically a win/win.

I see this PTB dying real fast because of the lack of survivors. Unlike the toolbox, map and medkit changes these last couple of PTBs, survivors have nothing to test this time, which means survivors have no reason to go to the PTB. They could've at least have buffed one or two survivor perks.
I spent 20 minutes waiting in killer queue and gave up, I'm not really interested in playing against Bubba/Billy, when their powers are basically the same, just changed a bit. Just giving us 1 or 2 buffed survivor perks at least would've given more of a reason to play survivor. Guess the devs didn't think that through though. :/
Yep, same thing I said. They needed to change multiple survivor perks, add killer chase music for each, just anything to get survivors to play. They will get no data at all from this...everything is just going to be KYF from popular streamers, which isn’t real gameplay. There is no incentive whatsoever to play survivor. How did they not see this coming?
-
It was a huge mistake to not change survivor perks for this PTB too. Why would anyone want to play survivor? Everyone just wants to try the killer changes. Now nobody can get a game. Had they changed 4 or 5 survivor perks you’d get players on both sides. This was not thought through.

If you only get 2 kills you definitely lost if you get 3 you've barely tied
Killers only "win" with a 4k. its the endscreen, score emblems and entity Displeased that tell you this not me its litterally the written rules of the game it doesn't end until they die or escape.
2.5k on average because you can't half kill a person means when you take all the games and even them out you have 2 or 3k most often by number.
Lol watch the inflate after a single DC snowballs an entire team.
Or a potato team 4k erases 2 matches of 4E super squads
0-1K is killer loss
2K is a draw
3-4K is a killer win
If you’re going to have a high standard that only a 4K is a win, go right ahead. But don’t try to argue about balance using that logic when most players view 3K as a killer win.
-
How in the world does a 2.5 kill rate mean the killer lost nearly every game? That makes no sense at all.
-
If you are complaining about games where you can’t down and hook a single survivor, this clearly indicates you just aren’t any good.
-
Centipedes. Spiders sometimes too, but to a lesser extent. I am unable to even kill a centipede, I just have to leave the room and hope it goes away. Interestingly enough though, I enjoy watching documentary type stuff on creepy insects or stuff like Kings of Pain. Outside of that I wouldn’t necessarily say I have a fear of elevators, but the first thing I do when getting in one is look up to see if I can climb out if it gets stuck.
-
Your own examples answer your question. With the killer tunneling for a mori, there is now a significantly higher likelihood of a 4K outcome. With your survivor example, one escaped. Which had more impact on the game?! On the survivor side, they have to not only get the required gens done, but it also takes coordination for more than 1 to escape with the key. Very clear difference in strength. Both need changing, but the mori is clearly more powerful and gamebreaking

Weird, even though it's killer sided I've managed to reach over a 50% escape rate as solo survivor and I still suck at looping. Also, ######### do you mean by last sentence? The absolutely easiest way to balance the game would be to make 0 SWF participation. If you only have to balance around solo, then balancing becomes a hell of a lot easier. SWF is only in to make players happier; definitely not for balance.
What I mean is that a balanced game, generally speaking, is a lobby featuring probably 2 man SWF. Not hard to figure out, as I said killer vs 4 solos is killer sided. There are many killers who believe if SWF were removed today, the game would be balanced. That’s nonsense. The game would clearly be killer sided, would you seriously argue that?
-
Killer vs 4 solos is killer sided. Should solos therefore get an action speed buff? People need to start acknowledging that some level of SWF participation is actually required for balance.
-
As long as you are using at least one of the new perks, I don’t see a problem. However, I also wouldn’t blame a survivor for DCing especially if they’ve faced a different killer once already. There are some people who will use a different killer and with the same old perk builds...these killers i consider trolls who are wasting everyone’s time.
-
It makes absolutely no sense to push a video as being about genrush, and then proceeding to do a bunch of cuts... just stupid and makes the video useless.

I just had a discussion with some survivor who chastised me for using infectious fright to slug, saying it is a "toxic playstyle". But I mean...everyone and their mum runs D-Strike nowadays, so what do they expect people to do? If I'm walking about and suddenly I find a survivor I think has DS still, If I see nobody else I'm going to down and slug them.
Isn't this what survivors want? to not be hooked straight away again? Infectious gives another target to chase as well, so it promotes going after other people. I don't really care about the fake rules people come up with, just baffled by the hoops people jump through to shame others for basically nothing.
I will say I get why killers who never hook anyone is boring though, until everyone has been knocked down. That is kinda lame, but again everyone should be able to play how they want, on both sides, with the Devs balancing the game to promote healthy playstyles. Until survivors have another objective, slugging is one of the best pressure tools in this game for killers.
.
Sorry but I’m going to nitpick...
”Until survivors have another objective, slugging is one of the best pressure tools in this game for killers.”
This kinda implies that killers would not slug if survivors had another objective....as if they want to play fair and honorable but are unable to. Not true...this narrative needs to stop. Killers would still camp/tunnel/slug if survivors had another objective. Those playstyles would not stop until removed, that’s what the “add another survivor objective” crowd fail to understand. It’s not that simple.
-
No. Many players, especially solo, have no desire to play with voice chat. By buffing killers, you are essentially forcing them to use it or be put in an even worse spot than now. It would be detrimental to the game. Solo survivor is already the weakest role in the game, you can’t make it worse. Forcing comms is not the way to go. Another potential big problem would be the fact a lot of current SWF players would just continue using discord and mute the in game voice chat. Now you might have a solo player who has it chat on, being paired with that 3man SWF and literally talking to himself lol. How would that be fair? It’s just not a good idea.
-
Why are some Pyramid heads heading directly to cages, hoping for a no DS/BT tunnel?
I legit can not understand killers.
In all seriousness, each side playing how they would normally play is exactly what you would want on a PTB...so your complaint really doesn’t make sense.

@danielmaster87 said:
I believe the devs have said before that they like shorter games, but I don't know if that's a good thing. Certainly we don't want 20 minute games, so that's not what I'm saying. As someone who mostly plays killer but also plays survivor, there is nothing more fun in this game than looping a killer. But there's so many games where I get almost zero interaction with the killer, maybe getting hooked once but escaping nonetheless.
All survivors have to do is hold a button on a generator and they're through the gates. The 2 second nerf on gens in the recent update did nothing. I thought games with pre-nerf Ruin were the perfect place. Survivors didn't have to gen rush, and killers didn't have to slug. But nowadays you have to do those things, because if you don't you fall too far behind. The gens go so fast that the killer has to assume they've gotta play hardcore from the get go, which means slugging when necessary and not having empathy for someone who just got off he hook. If we slowed down gens a little more, it would make a big difference.
There's been a noticable increase in killers using NOED and survivors using Adrenaline. They use them because those are the best catch up perks, and are usually going to get use because of how quickly 5 gens can be done. I see survivors complain that gens take too long, but it sounds like entitlement since those complaints were non-existent before the Ruin nerf. In other words, they see that gen speed is now buffable and nerfable, and they want it in their favor.
But the main point is that killers have the most fun when they get lots of chases in, and survivors have the most fun when they get good chases in. There isn't time for such chases when gens fly as quick as they do. I guess we should consider another gen speed nerf or a second survivor objective. That way the games will be slower, more chill, and more enjoyable.
“I guess we should consider another gen speed nerf or a second survivor objective. That way the games will be slower, more chill, and more enjoyable.”
Heres the problem. You seem to be operating under the idea that killers are just honorable and if they had more time...would play “fair”. This simply isn’t true...at all. Killers would continue to slug, tunnel, camp no matter what. I don’t see how this makes for a more enjoyable survivor experience when they are just dying a lot more as killers could still rush their objective even more effectively. If you want longer games, both sides need to be addressed. Second objective? Sure. But the killer should also no longer be able to utilize these playstyles. You can’t do that just going by an honor system.
-
My initial reaction would be a little disappointed, but that’s mainly because my expectations have been built up to hopes of Jason or something completely out of nowhere and mind blowing like Jack Torrance. After that feeling fades, I’d be fine with Pinhead. It could be worse. Of all the names most talked about, Candyman would be the legit letdown, or something like Pyramid head would be awful.

Simple fix is to make it so they dont lose points if the killer is near the hook.
I don’t see how that’s enforced. How long does the killer need to be at the hook for the penalty to not take place? What if the killer is proxy/patrolling....as opposed to outright facecamping? Do those survivors lose points? If they just go for it for so they don’t lose anything, and the killer comes back and downs the unhooks guy,.. will they get criticized for farming even though the game forced them to go for the rescue? I think it would be way too complicated, you can’t force survivors to go for a save...especially when killers are aware those survivors will lose bp. That will just entice them to stay around the hook area.
-
So now you want to subtract BP from the other survivors when a killer is camping the hook? No thanks!
-
“add 1-3 more gens”. Wow. You wanting up to 8 gens just proves you have no interest in actual balance, balance to you is simply you winning easily every game. This is called entitlement, and you have a very strong case of it. Don’t like using this, but git gud definitely applies.
So if you are getting a 4K every game with Nurse now, and you implemented these changes, doesn’t that mean your Nurse games are all going to be something like 4K/6 gens left? And you think that’s balanced? 😂
-
I’ll go with the long shot, Jack Torrance. I think people would be blown away as nobody would expect it. I’m basing this off nothing, of course. Except maybe last year when the devs started following Stephen King, if that meant anything the assumption would be Pennywise, but maybe it’s Jack instead.
realistically though, I’m leaning towards Pinhead over the usual suspects.

Watch them. Movement, coordination, knowledge of maps, the perks they run, how optimal they are on saves or gens are all top notch. I recognize it, because i deal with it. Like it or not, certain regions have a higher quality of survivor.
Watch his survivors, then watch umbra, you will see a clear difference in how they play.
I’ve seen him pull the “this is a strong team, boys” card so many times when literally one of the survivors is any good at looping. He has set things up to where he can never look bad. Compare that to someone like Scott who will flat out say he blew the game. You can’t ignore it’s a rarity with Tru3, it’s always something else. I’ve seen him with games such as Huntress where at the start he’ll say it will be rough cause of the map (Which is a totally legit complaint), but by the end it’s shifted to the same ol’ 4 man SWF nothing I could do excuse. Even he seems to get confused on the reason he didnt dominate sometimes. As an experiment, give a shot at watching his stream with the sound muted so you don’t get influenced by the commentary. Might be interesting.

Some people really hate seeing credit given to streamers they hate, and it says a lot about the 20+ people upvoting it too. No wonder this community is such an embarrassment when it comes to allowing others to hold different opinions.
I gave my opinion of a guy who has built-in excuses constantly lined up. I believe people like this are actually bad for the community as it warps a lot of players into never owning up to mistakes, or that the opponent (s) might just be better. Angry Pug is similar in that regard, but I do at least find his bitching about bad teammates to bring comedic value

Tru3, because he has to deal with the very best survivors on a consistent basis. Umbra and monto stomp, but any decent killer would stomp the survivors they get.
The few times I've seen monto get the really strong teams, he's depipped.
Have you considered that maybe Tru3 just isn’t as good as you think? The narrative he uses is that any game he doesn’t win easily is due to a “4 man stretched screen optimal bully squad”. How often do you hear someone like Zubat rant and rave constantly about having no chance against survivors? Are we really going to believe Tru3 is the one streamer who gets nothing but 4 man death squads? Just think about it, hes in the business of making himself look good.

There is absolutely no valid reason for the killer to be able to see survivor usernames. Sorry but dodging or targeting a player are not valid.

I also believe it’s narrowed down to Jason or Pennywise, if I had to bet I’d say Pennywise. Wasn’t there the thing where the devs followed Stephen King on Twitter some point last year? (Not sure if it went the other way too). Nothing ever came of that I don’t think, sure it could’ve been nothing but it’s certainly possible it would’ve taken this amount of time to get something done for IT.

That is, but I don’t think he’s even talking about when it’s two survivors left not doing anything.Pretty sure he is talking about ome survivor who’s just hiding a lot that he can’t find from the start of the game (the stereotypical urban evading Claudette hiding in the corner a lot ). That’s why he has conditions like unhooking and healing in there. While boring and being a bad teammate, that’s obviously not reportable.
-
Yeah, it’s the most broken thing in the entire game. I don’t condone DCs, but if survivors just run up to you to suicide I don’t blame them one bit. There’s a reason anyone who’s decent at Huntress doesn’t use them, because they know it’s absurdly OP.

So one person just loops the killer within 16 meters of the person on the hook(With camaraderie to extend the time by 34 seconds per 2nd hook stage per survivor) so their buddies can gen rush the ever living day lights out of the game?
Distance alone won't work sense survivors have abused distance based anti camping mechanics in the past to the point they got removed from the game entirely.
Also giving a 100% gen speed to the entire team on any perk that doesn't have a MASSIVE GAME LOSING DOWNSIDE should NEVER exist no matter what.
Except that didn’t involve what the chaser emblem does. That’s the problem with everyone just responding “this was tried before and survivors abused it”. No, it really wasn’t as it was very poorly done. If the killer is in chase, or another survivor is within 16m, the chaser emblem is not penalized. I imagine a perk like this would be based off the same criteria as that. I’m not really arguing for or against the perk, just pointing the difference out. As far as I know, that old test was just based solely off the killer being near the hook. Of course that wouldn’t work.

I totally agree with you. They are trivializing the word iconic. The way they describing the next killer as "iconic", the chapter as "very emotional milestone" and the franchise as "marked the world of horror" will turn to be a BIG bruh moment if it is Candyman, IMO. Everything points to Candyman, I'm waiting for the worst...
Right! Hell I don’t even know anyone who likes the movie, would doubt most have even seen it...and I’m definitely a lot older than most here. I only saw it once years ago when it came out, thought it sucked, and never watched it again. Don’t find him iconic in the least, but at least a very small part of me could buy the devs thinking he is...pyramid head though is just a hell no.
-
It’s not Pyramid Head, come on. Words like “iconic” are being used, this doesn’t fit the bill whatsoever. Honestly to me Candyman doesn’t either, but he’s probably the favorite at this point. Iconic to me are killers like Jason, Dracula, Hannibal, etc. Candyman is on a tier far below them imo, pyramid head Im not even considering.

I mean people have been saying that there is a flying sound in the game files and I was thinking what if it were predator releasing those bug things. I'm not sure which franchise has that thing though. It's either alien or predator that has bug things flying around attacking people. If I'm not mistaken there was some predator things going around in the community in 2018. I remember some shrine watch with Hybridpanda and he showed some predator looking thing in dbd. Tbh I think predator wouldn't be that bad either.
Zero chance it’s Predator....there is a Predator game that recently came out.
-
Hypothetically if camping/tunneling/slugging were removed, this is what would open things up for an additional survivor objective. This is what would please both sides. As it stands, because these things exist, nothing can nor should be done to survivors...as killers would still continue to camp/tunnel/slug no matter what for easy wins. Killers need to realize this when continuing to complain for added gen time or things like finding gas. Those tactics would need to be removed in the base game for balance...none of this honor system crap. “If killers had more time, they wouldn’t camp or tunnel anymore”. That doesn’t work, you have to make it no longer possible or people would keep doing it.
-
Question. How are survivors supposed to counter camping now, if gens can become damaged and they have to run around the map now looking for parts? People come up with ideas to prolong gens, but nobody addresses that so many bad killers would just take advantage. Something would need to be done on the killer side, so camping and proxy camp/tunneling are not buffed. A killer playing this way will win every game if the survivors are unable to rush gens.

But DBD could be so much more scarier. You will always feel tense when playing games like Resident Evil, Amnesia or Outlast but DBD loses its scariness way too quickly. It's a bad sign when a horror game is more comical than scary. This game has potential, they should buff the horror side of this game up to make this game if not more scary then just more tense.
Here’s the thing. DBD is just not comparable as it is a PvP game. You will NEVER feel the same tension knowing that you are going against a human controlled opponent. The feeling you get is more of a competitive nature wanting to beat them, as opposed to feeling afraid of them. It’s just not the same whatsoever as playing one of those games you named by yourself. Buffing killers to make them extremely strong would do absolutely nothing to add horror, all it would do is make nobody want to play survivor. Nobody is interested in playing kill simulator in a multiplayer game and losing over and over.

Umm, no. All you are doing is trying too get a hate train started because you don't like the dude. Watching Tru3 and being upset about SWF has nothing too do with each other. Plus Tru3 isn't even a killer main, he plays both sides equally. Sorry mate but they have nothing in common lol.
You don't have too like Tru3, but don't make up lies too try and insult him, criticize him for his actual mistakes, otherwise you just look silly and makes your arguments invalid.
It does have a lot to do with each other though. Tru3 is a popular streamer who constantly accuses everyone of being SWF whenever a game isn’t easy for him...and lately I’ve even heard stretch screen accusations too lol. You don’t think that attitude rubs off on his fans? It certainly does. I only put him on sometimes to see the ridiculousness of the chat. They all mimic him. Tell me how often you hear other well known killers like Scott or Zubat constantly crying SWF like Tru3 does? It’s like night and day watching other people, because the guy has a god complex when it comes to this game. The guy even insults viewer request builds, people who PAID him money, because his ego can’t handle possibly losing...so he has to try to save face and by going on and on bashing the build. Talk about ungrateful. And come on, just because he plays survivor on his stream, you can’t ignore the fact that he’s extremely biased towards the killer side. That is very obviously his preferred role. He still classifies as a killer main to me.

Gen time used to be 60 seconds if I remember correctly. Increasing gen times didn't solve the problem last time and I doubt it would solve the problem if they did it again. The problem with gen rushing is that there needs to be something to slow survivors down between 1 gen and the next. I've for a long time suggested that every time one gen is done, every other gen on the map gets reduced to 50% of it's progress. Or you could reduce repair speed for a certain percentage each time a gen is done. Either way, increasing gen times a 2nd time is about as likely to solve the problem as the first time they did it.
That’s terrible.. a camper would win every game if this happened. Camp first hook, survivors try to counter with gens, one pops and any others reduce by 50% or repair speed is slow down. Game over lol.

As far as I know, this did work not in conjunction with the current emblem penalty requirements for camping.
Im not saying they should necessarily do this, but if im correct, that test was completely invalid and people need to stop referencing it. Obviously you would need to tie the emblem penalty to it, so killer in chase or survivor within range of the hook does nothing to slow hook progression. If none of that was in place for that test, clearly it would easily be abused...and does not prove at all that it couldn’t possibly work. Again, I’m not 100% sure on how the test was done, but I’ve never seen anyone respond to me that it did include those specifications when I’ve brought it up in the past.
-
Funny given that you complain about “genrushing”. You have perks/add-ons and strong killers to deal with it if you need the help. Stop complaining about it. But let me guess, you don’t feel like you should be restricted to top tier killers and/or certain gen builds? Yet survivors are not allowed to complain about something that makes them feel required to use the same perks. Typical double standard.
-
If a survivor is just following you around disarming traps, that means he’s not doing gens.Thats not a bad thing for you.

I don’t think that’s true. Recently Peanits made a post that indicated if a killer bodyblocks a survivor before gens are done, it is reportable. So while technically the other survivors can finish the game out to where that survivor dies to EGC, it still counts as hostage under the rules(as it should)

Seems weird eh?
I think it might not be An anti-tunneling perk after all.
It’s been discussed a lot here lately, but NOED works the same way. It’s supposed to be an anti genrush perk, but is used by campers a lot. The survivors in these games have no choice but to slam gens or the camper will win. Is it fair they could get punished and hit with NOED? Nope. No different than killers who genuinely aren’t tunneling sometimes having to deal with DS. Both these perks need some tweaks.
-
Mixed answer as generally speaking 4 man SWF on comms is survivor sided, but Killer vs 4 solos is absolutely killer sided. That’s why the all the “delete SWF” posts are just silly, as it implies they actually believe a solo lobby to be a balanced game, which of course they would since they are winning. That’s a joke, and most people who aren’t biased realize that I think. Some level of SWF involvement in matches is actually needed for balance in today’s game.
The only answer would be to buff solo in every way possible that does NOT include built in comms or perks (which is a classic of the devs) like indicators of what everyone is doing and being able to press a button that says “don’t save me, killer is here”...for example. Then you balance killers around that. This is just really unlikely though. Before anyone says it, no, just going the built in comms route would be disastrous and kill the game. You can’t balance the game around that as so many survivors would want to mute it and be left with a far worse experience than current solo queue already can be.
-
Ok I’m pretty much as anti camping as it gets, however, it is generally accepted by most people including myself when it comes to end game...so I’d eliminate that part out right off the bat. I think a good chunk of your time on the ground, especially after being downed the second time, can be attributed to you possibly having DS. If he picks you up, you just DS him and run out the gate lol. He doesn’t know that you don’t have it. The first time on the ground was obviously longer than 60 sec, but I don’t see a problem....was probably just waiting for the others to leave. This isn’t greifing.
I do agree though that BT should be proximity based. It’s stupid.

Keys only the key user can escape, reduce the chance of a key in a chest except for EGC, where it’s raised as it’s more dramatic and fits the situation. Mori requires all 4 survivors being hooked before anyone can be moried. Easy.

If "Just do gens!" is a counter to camping, then "Just go find another survivor' is a counter to the locker tech. Boom. Solved it for you. You can thank me later.
But I wasn’t tunneling! Why should I get hit with an anti tunneling perk?! That’s not fair at all. So what if you are hit with an “anti-genrush” perk even though you were forced to genrush because the killer is camping a survivor to death....its completely fair. Only I, the killer, should be allowed to complain about such things.
