It has the same problem a lot of maps have nowadays: sometimes you have good tiles to chain together, other times it's dead zone after dead zone. After all the reworks I don't typically struggle as either side but as survivor it's really easy to get deadzoned.
-
I think it's size favors killers greatly, and the structure in the center really makes life difficult for survivors. Especially because the pallet up there is so unsafe. Plus the sides of the temple are huge dead zones and the killer can easily just camp the center and force hook trades by spotting people crossing the map for a save.
-
I'd say it's pretty balanced. It was a bad choice for Lights Out though, taking an already dark map and making it darker.
-
Literally all the maps are deadzones now, this is nothing new
-
Not playing against Skull Merchant
-
Why did they revert the change to the Outta Sight challenge? It went from easily doable to once again asking survivors to throw the match by doing nothing.
-
I knew I wasn't crazy, I managed to get it to register me hitting the first skillcheck once then never again.
-
He doesn't need a nerf. He needs a complete rework.
-
All the killers acting outraged in this thread as if they were using any of these perks and not bringing some combo of Overcharge, Call of Brine, Lethal Pursuer, BBQ, Pain Resonance, Dead Man's Switch, Pop, Floods of Rage, Pentimento, Plaything, Nowhere to Hide, No Way Out, Save the Best, Devour Hope, Brutal Strength, Eruption, Deadlock, Surge and Discordance. This is ALL I HAVE BEEN FACING FOR OVER HALF A YEAR. EVERY. SINGLE. MATCH.
We survivors have been complaining about this oppressive "gen kick" meta for 8 MONTHS and they only just nerfed a single one of those perks.
I mean come on, they even went and buffed Knight when it should be outstandingly clear he either needs a nerf or complete power rework just because a few whiny killers didn't get a 4k one time and claimed he's weak. Same thing happened with Ghostface and Legion, two killers that were strong as they were made even stronger and more obnoxious.
If a completely inconsequential update like this makes you quit than good riddance because it's due to killers like you all that dbd has been in the worst state it's ever been in (for survivors anyway).
-
Beautiful story, they're still pandering/not doing enough tho
-
Does not work for hatch either
-
Also happening on Xbox One
-
Youre genuinely delusional if you think the game is still survivor sided (which it hasn't been in years) lol
-
"More variety"
I've seen nothing but Pain Resonance and Dead Man's ever since they walked back the nerf over a niche scenario that could've been avoided if they just tweaked Merciless Storm.
If it isn't that, it's some combo of Call of brine, Overcharge, Eruption, Floods of Rage, Sloppy Butcher, Pentimento + all hexes, Jolt, No Way Out and NOED.
Can't forget crutches like No Way Out and NOED. And as if the basekit changed weren't crutches enough, Brutal and Save the Best.
What did we get for survivor?
DS is completely worthless, Iron Will is trash, Calm Spirit of all perks got nerfed, they nerfed Blast Mine for no reason, and Mettle of Man was made decent before going back to being a worthless meme perk again.
Solo queue is even more of a nightmare, and even in a SWF we escape through the gates maybe once or twice in 10 games because killer is so oppressive now.
And don't even get me started on the uncounterable builds killers bring all the time now, like Plagues 110 seconds of object infection time build, Iri Legion Pin/Julie's Mix Tape, or the big one, Omega Blink Nurse in 2022.
The Survivor experience is at its lowest point, meanwhile killer is so easy even with the sweat squads that I get matched with I've managed Onryos, Dredges and Wesker adepts first try.
BHVR as usual patting themselves on the back for another killer sided update.
-
Isnt it funny how if their were a bug equivalent to this for the killer side the killers would whine on everu piece of media for the devs to fix it/complain about survivors taking advantage of the error

The problem is no one gets called out for DS in the same way NoED is. Survivors have the game in there favor, but the ones that complain about NoED existing are hypocrites because they play a simpler side but imply the killer is somehow less skilled, even when the skill of the killer by definition must be better than that of at least half the output of the opposite team to win.
It's also incorrect that just by having and using NoED makes you a worse killer. By that very same logic, any perk that gives a huge upswing while having a condition not directly activated by you, would surely be just as bad. There are many on Survivor side, but getting to deep into that will just derail the conversation.
Point being NoEd is no different really than any other perks of it's kind, it just has a strongish effect at end game. In what way does the endgame dictate skill for a killer?
If you're already at the endgame and losing, NoED will get you maybe a kill or two unless that survivor group sucked, you likely won't even pip if you weren't doing good enough in the trial to beging with, so you stay at your rank. At worst you could even depip in this scenario and if you did, you probably didn't use NoED effectively (another thing folks seem to conveniently not think about.. NoED can still fail you even if it procs in end game, especially on larger maps.)
The narrative is just exhausting, and it's not a fair attack. I rarely ever play with this perk, but it's a fun, legitimate perk to throw on certain killers, gets a few surprises from time to time, but doesn't decide my games totally by itself, because no perk in the game does that.
Why should survivors feel bad for using DS if killers don't have to feel bad for using NOED?

He’s the weakest killer in the game in my opinion
Weaker than Clown and Legion? I think not.
And what other killer can pull survivors to them, literally? With perfectly timed shots he can deny infinites and window loops.
-
That's a really pointless idea, and I highly doubt they'd ever do that. As strong as 4 Man's are, to get rid of them would be equal to getting rid of SWF altogether. Why would only getting to play with 1 or 2 friends be better than 3? Honestly, a good 2/3 man is just as strong as a 4 man.
-
I think the main reason NOED is not recommended is that if you use it too often, you start to rely on it too much. It gets you kills you otherwise didn't deserve. It's why a lot of the notable killer mains, such as Otz, say not to run it.
That being said, it's your choice on whether to use it or not. I use it on killers I'm not very good with yet.

Sometimes achievements don't register, and not just adepts. I've had to do a handful multiple times.
It just pisses me off because I worked hard for both just to get nothing.

ok silly question but are you sure you were running his perks and ONLY his perks?
Yes, Gear Head, Retribution and Dead Mans Switch
I had them all
I also just went for my Adept Billy (with his unique perks), got the double pip and no achievement
-
My rank didnt reset either

One update with minor killer buffs doesn't magically wash away the past 6 months of heavy killer nerfs. So far their survivor pampering far out weights killer pampering, so until we start seeing some more quality of life updates for killers they're still survivor sided.
You killer mains are so ignorant it's painful, good lord.
I bet if they made it so that survivors die instantly upon being hooked as opposed to having two different hook states you all would either not be happy or would somehow see that as balancing in the right direction.

Survivor nerfs never were as big as killer ones, and killers' buffs never were as big as survivor ones as well.
Not counting bugs that killers are suffering from, and that are in the game for a very long time, meanwhile when survivors suffer from a bug, it gets instantly fixed (survivor sound bug got fixed in like ~3 days, while killers suffer from the same sound bug for like 3 months, not saying this bug cames back literally every update).
Also killers never had as busted mechanics as survivors had/have (pallet vacuum, infinities, looping, 322523535353 second chance perks).
That is the biggest Bull ive heard yet.
Literally every bug survivors suffered that benefitted killers went on for almost months, ie. The slopppy butcher Wraith bug that caused massive frame drops for survivors.

This is desync, something unrelated. They are seeing you in a completely different spot.
Will there ever be a fix to the "No Network" error that happens seemingly at random?
Even though I'm clearly still connected to my Wifi and LIVE, itll occasionally happen mid match and kick me out, and i dont get any bloodpoints but i do lose my items and offerings.

Worrying about avoiding tunneling? Literally, screw that. I don't care who it it, if I kick a gen, chase and hook someone, and then go back to that gen, the first person I find it my new target. Whether I just hooked them or not.
Stop worrying about making the game fun for survivors. They literally don't give a crap about your fun.
So basically youre saying "screw survivors having fun, only my fun matters."
You toxic killer mains are so self centered, yikes.
-
I guarantee you thaat even with such a massive change made in favor of killers, theyll still find a way to claim the devs side with survivors 100% and wont be happy with it.
Killer mains always find something to cry about, even if it's beneficial.
-
Who cares?
-
Would you consider reintroducing the gate opening time going down to 15 secs from 20 secs for the last person alive?
Wake Up and good RNG is the only thing the last survivor has that gives them the best chance of getting out. In situations where both doors are a blink away from one another, all the last survivor can do is die.
-
Start getting Borrowed and Unbreakable on any Survivors you dont own now before they're made teachables, folks.
I know one thing, I'm definitely maining Bill when he releases.
-
The best way I've found to make a killer salty is to use perks that the game provides me that their "'made up rules" say is toxic to run.
-
So I had a friend recently ask me if I'd recommend he try dead by daylight. It got me thinking of listing out the pros and cons of this game, which I want to do.
I've played against you many times and judging off your playstyle and mannerisms, you're not helping to make it any better.

@moonlunn NOED has multiple counters, keys don't.
@Pierpalle don't be so dramatic though. "Respect for player", come on. No one around here deserved any. And it's a fair point that moris are simular to keys. Either both should be removed, or we should just accept that sometimes our opponent brings stronger items, so we'll have a more difficult time. I don't see the problem with that.
Theres a counter to keys. Two actually.
1. Bring Franklin's.
2. Kill the guy with the key.
-
My God you killer mains are so melodramatic
Its almost like the survivors arent the whiny and entitled ones after all.

I’d become a survivor main and wouldn’t even care if I died 90% of the time. The balance would be off big time but I want to play for the fear factor more so please make this happen lol
Pls become I survivor main so I can farm you and message you "ez" for everytime you were a toxic ######### as killer

Carberator Tuning Guide+Either Primer Bulb or The Grease.
BBQ and Chilli, Ruin, the rest up to you.
As much as I detest using NOED, I would recommend it for when you're just trying out a new killer.
It also helps to just use their unique perks to get a feel for it when you go for the adept later on.
-
@DeadByFlashlight
Im talking about the most recent exploit used by the Clown that has since been fixed, where he could use the bottle throwing animation to clip through the hooked survivor, thus blocking the ability to unhook -
This is coming from the dude that used an exploit to body block the hook so my friends couldnt rescue me. The only one who deserves to be banned should be you.
Also, still salty about being "tunneled" that one time when i played Freddy?
