Or you know, people could just accept they lost. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Being delusional and reshape reailty so you still think you won when you didn't seems pretty sad.
But looking at this thread full of people who can't win the game so they pretend they don't even care about it and make excuses as to why they can't get a 4k as killer seems copium is in the air.
It's ok to lose. It's not ok to pretend you won when you didn't win.
You know this kind of mentality and behavior is exactly why I stopped playing. I had a stroke 5 years ago. I have some some residual issues including motor control problems. Some days are good, some are great. Most days are fairly average. Some, though...my brain and body refuse to cooperate. Those days I take what victories I can get. And I used to have fun playing DBD, even on my bad days ("stroke brain days"). But people on both sides have become so ridiculously professional level competitive and downright negative that I have almost completely lost interest in playing.
Posts like this are also why I tend to avoid the forums. So many community members screeing from the dark little void they surround themselves with that it is a chore to find decent interactions...which really doesn't help those already on the fence with things want to remain a part of the community.

So instead they refuse to listen to literally anything and just do whatever the hell they want while throwing out token statement about listening to the community.
This is not even close to the first time this has happened, it's just one of the worst and most visible. The Devs do what the Devs want to do and don't listen to any feedback.
Listening to does NOT mean catering to or defaulting to. That's what so many naysayers don't seem to grasp. They very well could have taken the negative comments in and will work on finding a balance between what we have currently been given (try to remember also the HUD changes are apparently connected to later things being implemented) and specific issues addressed with the feedback.
It isn't like they can just completely scrap months worth of coding which will affect more coding and other plans at the drop of a hat. Nor should they.
Besides even IF they did many of the same voices crying foul now would be belittling the devs for not implementing anything new or for them taking too long between "welcome" changes. And we both know it. (NOTE: I'm speaking very specifically about the true whiners and not people willing to have decent and civil discourse on the matter.)

The various forums are the only places to get feedback. The Devs heard the feedback. The Devs did nothing.
I think that's the biggest problem with this patch: all the positive changes were outweighed by the fact that community feedback on a UI update was almost completely ignored.
But even taking that into account, too many (not all...I won't even say most because I wouldn't claim to have delved super deep into the undercurrent of, at best, tepid vomit surface comments littered around these pages these days) posts and comments refuse to acknowledge any positives and just trash the devs and anyone who actually likes the HUD changes (for example I've talked with several players with very high end ADHD who find the new HUD makes their gameplay easier and more enjoyable). It then looks less like criticism, deserved or not, and more like ungrateful and entitled brats threatening to hold their breath because they specifically were not catered to. It definitely makes it harder to either sympathize or empathize with their POV. It then basically devolves into humans picking a side during a chimpanzee poo fight at a zoo when supporters try to voice their opinions too. Which makes it impossible for the devs to take anyone too seriously.

You can't be ungrateful for recieving something you didn't want or ask for, and that the significant majority of the community didn't like, want or ask for?
The forums are not necessarily a reflection of any majority though. And that is a part of the problem that people kinder and more patient than myself are trying to address and getting nowhere until someone smashes the "Can we get someone to address these underwear gnomes in their own terms here?" button.

Whatever you think @OBX is saying, at least they're being respectful- your tone and approach is hostile. The way you feel about whiny complainers is how I feel about bullies: They can leave the forums.
Who is being a bully? Yes, I called him out a bit at first. Most of my original comment was a general assessment of the forums. My follow up was indeed intended to sound a bit hostile since somewhat juvenile response of "you replied so you care" neither added anything to nor addressed anything from my overall illustration of how far too many people in this group are coming across as entitled and spoiled and wholly unappreciative of the incredibly hard and tedious work the devs put into ANY changes made. Their labor of love, even IF it were misguided and missed the mark, is being dumped on with impunity and frankly needs to be highlighted and treated with the same disdain they show in their demeanor.
Could I have handheld everyone and spelled out which specific aspects of my initial response to @OBX applied specifically to them? Sure. Could some of what I said be misinterpreted to appear as if I were thoroughly group them with the rest of the screaming and gibbering masses calling out for an Exodus? Possibly.
But just as equally they could have asked for clarification on points too. Instead I was met with a sophomoric retort (granted it was followed by well wishes that are appreciated, but also rang a bit hollow and snide placed seemingly as an afterthought. NOTE: In other words, my interpretation of things is as fallible as anyone's and absolutely guided my reply back). A massive problem with what these forums have continued to grow into is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to separate the well intentioned dissenting voices from the poo flinging monkeys...especially when one takes umbrage with someone railing against the monkeys and defends themselves as if every negative aspect described is about them. I suppose I could have drawn a clearer distinction between the various parts of my original comment, but such a breakdown would make me even more verbose than I already am...and I don't think anybody wants that (Of course this is opposed to days where I sound like someone taught a banana slug to type, but that is a different topic entirely).

For someone who doesn’t care, you sure seem to care.
I was answering OP question, but I guess you didn’t actually read. In any case, good luck with your medical issues and happy gaming.
You do realize that by taking that stance with the illogical opening of yours you are, in essence, acknowledging yourself to be one of the whiney, entitled people I was calling out for horrible behavior...to right? I mean being labeled a complainer is one thing but to expose yourself as a part of the toxic childish jerks in the forums is a whole different level of ungrateful.

im 43. Been gaming since my first system (Atari 2600). I’m not going to fight this terrible HUD along with the console frame rate and poor optimization.
to answer your question, yes I’ll leave this game due to this HUD. It makes playing the game a chore. After around 3000 hours this WILL cause me to stop the game. It will like cause others also.
moral of the story: don’t change things in your game that makes the actual playing of it unfun.
Dude, I'm 48 and my first system was freaking Pong. I have also had at least 2 major stroke events. Guess what? I have had ZERO issues with the new HUD.
Now I'm a firm believer in everyone has a right to their opinions and preferences. That said, I couldn't give be even half a woodland squat about the thoughts of most of the entitled, whiney, bullying chronic self-flagellators in this community and more specifically on these forums. Not because I disagree because I LOVE me some civilized and lively discourse. The people flooding the forums with posts that amount to a toy store temper tantrum and jumping on anyone showing even a modicum of positivity towards the changes barely deserve their voices to be heard any more than the caricature laden rich boy bad guys from practically any 80s teen comedy did, let alone to impact changes in a community that is far larger than their minuscule excuses for comprehensive capabilities can work out WITH instructions.
But sure, go ahead and play the "Im older and wiser" card like your opinions are somehow more correct. Well, that must mean MINE is even better than yours, right? No? Then either quite complaining (like our and older generations claim Millenials and Gen Zs do) and grow up and play the game or shut up and leave without making a scene. Because people who act like this won't be and shouldn't be missed.

Personally they broke mcmillan, and now autoheaven and ormond im so glad this is my last year in this game.
I'll bite...
Why? As in: Why is it definitely your last year? Why, SPECIFICALLY, do you have issues with these changes/how are those maps "broken"?
In a general sense your initial response (the one I quoted in case this isn't clear) is a big part of why some many see this community as toxic and entitled. Like any change one doesn't 100% support is treated like it is going to through everything in some massive, world shattering upheaval instead of a reasonable "Yeah, I don't like this but we'll see how it plays out".

Right? I mean I kind of get the potential logic behind it (guarentee the Mod is legally old enough to play the game from drop date or maybe as some form of "employment" restrictions or something similar) but damn that is a goodly chunk of fanbase eliminated out of the gate.

My son and I have a Headless Horseman killer almost completely fleshed out. Without getting too in depth his power works one of two ways. If you hit a survivor they gained oblivious for a set period and it took the same time for your head to respawning. The second you could toss it somewhere and it worked sort of like a security camera (the red stain stays with the body...unless a specific add on is used) with a sort of little pop up window. The red add ons would be chained to the head. The one previously mentioned would allow you to temporarily move the head but has the drawback of the red stain being tied to the head; the other would disguise the head as a totem and the stain would be tied to the body even if the other red add on were used).
As for a licensed chapter I'd love to see a Cabal/Nightbreed chapter. The map would be a bit different with the "basement" being the cemetery Mideon is hidden beneath and the map would be two levels with the first (connected to the cemetery/basement) being a smaller tunnel like area and a more open but still enclosed larger area beneath that.
The other twist would be the killer's perks and power operate a bit more like a survivor's. Basically though when he power isn't active aura perks show him as a survivor, when active he dons his mask and then registers as a killer.
The survivor would be Boone/Cabal. Explaining his abilities/perks kind of is spoilerish for the book and/or movie so I won't go there for now.

No. I'll keep an ear out for it.
I seem to be weirdly oblivious to some of the nice little details the Devs have added to this game. I'm not sure how long it would've taken me to notice that Blight has 6 fingers on each hand if it hadn't been pointed out to me.
I hadn't caught that until you pointed it out. To be fair I haven't paid that close attention when my son has played him (and I've been having coordination issues thanks to my stroke brain). The music part just hit me a little before I posted (had to hit YouTube to remind my son the part I meant before posting too).

THAT is how you sound. Like a greedy little child.

All you people making arguments about Pennywise being "defeated" or "destroyed" by children and therefore not powerful definitely know next to nothing about the actual lore surrounding the character.
It is fanboys like you that caused Wolverine to beat a Superman level character (Lobo) in a fist fight.

Also Candyman is considered Sci-Fi...not that I necessarily agree, but by genre definition. And I still say that brings us back to Alien for the genre. Maybe it'll be something crazy like the Babadook lol. There's only a few genres within horror, and they have most of the icons. Maybe it's super classic like Hammer Horror or Universal style. Dracula or Frankenstein or something.
In what hole in the wall video store is "Candyman" considered Sci-Fi?
"Jason X", the Xenomorph movies (including the recent "prequel" stuff)...absolutely. "Deadly Friend" flirts with the overlap of horror and science fiction. The newest "Child's Play" is definitely a sci-fi bend on the classic horror franchise.
But "Candyman" is pure horror/thriller with zero sci-fi aspects. So, no, by genre definition it is NOT science fiction.

Is his career based off Voice Acting?
No. He's an Actor.
He does and is known for both. I only provided a couple examples to counter the stretch of "hE's NoT a VoIcE aCtOr...so IT HAS TO BE CANDYMAN" bs. But you focus on whatever silly, pedantic and semantic wording you want...you're going to regardless.

"But Tony Todd isn't a voice actor."
Your comment is misguided in this assertion. He absolutely IS. At least 4 different DC animated movies voicing Darkseid, an entire season of voicing Zoom on The Flash...and more. A simple blush through his IMdB profile before making a definite statement would have prevented you looking somewhat foolish.

lmfao are you seriously comparing videogames to real life?
Not to mention that ANY medium is reflective of real life in *MANY* respects. Especially when one is discussing toxic behavior/mentality/attitude. The type of people who act like OP describes try to be hard and play tough and when called out they pull some variation of the tired garbage argument you're attempting.

Toxicity is something that will always be there in any game people play. No point in discussing it tbh.
This mentality is why we still discuss race issues 55 years after Integrataion; why women still feel as if they do not have equality, regardless of laws making it so they do; why anyone has to fight to have their voice heard in a society that is in an age wherein the breadth of all knowledge is literally at our fingertips.
It absolutely IS worth discussing because only by shining a light on these type of scum can we, as a community and society, hope to purge them from our midst. Regardless of where in our society it is.
-
Kudos to you for posting this and creating an opening to discuss this.
Toxic game play IS inevitable and a part of gameplay that , in general, the community can do little (if anything) about.
Toxic behavior before, during and after gameplay should NEVER be tolerated as "just the way it is". Especially since the fandom and community CAN do something to keep that garbage from becoming the status quo in the community. Turning off messaging, ignoring requests, deleting conversations (or whatever other enabling solutions that have been or will be suggested as a means to deal with this horrible behavior) are NOT going to do anything beyond embolden the ego stroking, immature derriere derbys described here.
If we want our community (relatively) free of these types; if we want to be able to say "we won't tolerate a toxic fanbase"; if we want our community to be better...we HAVE to talk about it, we HAVE to do our best to shun people like this, we HAVE to strive to be better rather than passively ignore it. Otherwise things cannot and will not get better and eventually those types will take over and completely ruin the game for the rest of us.

ladies and gentlemen, we got our thread troll, who has no clue how coding works, thinks fixing issues is as simple as "changing numbers" or "drag&dropping assets", and, cherry on the cake, thinks nothing improved in the past 4 years, when any person with common sense wouldn't be able to count the improvements on their fingers.
keep it up, forum community, you're perfect the way you are...
Right? Like coding is the equivalent to building in Minecraft or some time killer app. LOL
Even as simplistic as programming was in DOS (or Basic) "easy" changes were rarely as quick as changing numbers. These entitled jokers that think this way probably also think hacking works like in Fallout or Watchdogs.

I have a "solution" to the NOED haters.
Make the killers server the host. Then allow a feature similar to the skulls in Halo. Essentially a map feature that automatically (randomly) assigns up to 4 chosen Hexes to totems, which function like they do now. Add a setting/button to opt out of these maps and problem solved.
Added bonus for killers that opens up perk slots.
Of course if survivor mains who hate NOED think load in times are long now just imagine the wait to play with a killer that won't use this function...
