So, when will you actually intend to nerf Jason?

  1. Ranged attack with no downside, almost guaranteed hit; SCRATCH THAT, in addition to having no downside, it hinders and brokens survivors, soooo yeah… RANGED ATK with HUGE UPSIDES
  2. TP around the map basically on demand → Jason basically plays 2 ways, in a chase, and in TP
  3. Blocking windows, pallets, survivor screams when he TPS, i mean… EVEN a mentally challenged individual would have an oppinion on this
  4. Have i forgotten anything?

Basically Jason has no identity, he just has bunch of OP perks all put into one. IT made for a great selling strat. What now though? I must say, i have been playing this game for over 500 hrs, have around 45% escape rate, and i have never played a game where we managed to complete more than 2 gens b4 getting ousted. But yeah, he cool though.

P.S. I have made 3 posts on the forum in my entire 500 hrs played. This about nerfing Jason is one of them. Draw a conclussion. BHVR.

  • Yeah he's a strong killer and needs to be adjusted regarding hex builds and some addons. But he has counterplay, for example identifying safe gens against OE or predicting his OE exit points.

  • There is a new design philosophy that every killer must be at least A tier or S- (newly released ones)

So it is unlikely that Jason (who is A tier) will get any nerf.

SoloQ balanced around 30%-35% escape (most of them given by killers as free hatch)

And every new killer is asked a question, what if going against 4x SWF with 20k hours each?

This is how modern dbd balanced

    1. Range attack that potentially eats hooks to reload and is infact not a guaranteed hit with its long wind up and one shot per reload.
    2. Very very obvious when in OE and must get out via breakable or vault able. Also what's wrong with in chase or looking for one again?
    3. Bar a add on which requires set up he only blocks the one he teleports to…meaning do run to the guy trying to murder you. That seems like sound logic to most sain people. The screams also don't trigger if you simply crouch.
    4. You forgot that 500 hrs isn't all that long here in dbd
    1. The downside is Jason only gets 1 spear to shoot which also has a very small hitbox, huntress has 7 (with a much bigger hitbox) and springtrap as well has 1 but he becomes 4.6 and he can recall it without losing distance, Jason will need to waste time to gain another spear.
    2. His tp is limited to pallet/window locations and survivor can simply stay away from those and he will still need to chase after the tp, everyone knows when he is using the tp and able to counter it.
    3. Blocks the pallet/window only for 4 seconds to the one he teleports to, I don't think the survivor will exactly be using that pallet/window and instead will be running away and even if the survivor will use that pallet/window then it's definitely after 4 seconds. To counter the scream and the killer instinct you simply crouch...
    4. You forgot about the very simple counterplay against the tp (crouching), the amount of time Jason wastes to get the spear back and dodging the spear which has a very small hitbox.

he just has bunch of OP perks all put into one.

Name at least one perk he has base kit, op perks on killer are slowdown perks btw.

He is only low A tier, there's many killers stronger than him which deserve a nerf much more.

  • Jason is mid b tier atleast high b at most. I haven’t lost too a single jason in weeks.

    Just from yesterday alone

Good lord, hate Jason for any reason you want (despite the fact that he's healthier for the game than Henry and Judgment but I'll still my tongue), but being an ableist? 10,000 years in Hopeless Exile.

Also, 500 hours is a microscopic amount of time to put into the game to expect "great" results against strong killers everytime, circle back to us when you add another thousand to that number.

As opposed to yesteryear when killers like release Sadako and Ghost Face came out to about as much success as a wet fart? I'll take a killer who needs to be nerfed because they are overtuned rather than one that needs half a dozen reworks to be even remotely playable.

Yeah killer more fun, survivor only in SWF otherwise masochist simulator

  • He's not quite as awful to face since Sauna Rock got nerfed.

I still think its pretty stupid that he gets basically perma haste when he already gets to start every chase directly behind a survivor.

And Deputy badge is still overpowered.

The spear ranged attack is pretty well balanced and the reload mechanic is fair enough imo.

Hopefully the Thrill nerf will tone down the effectiveness of hex builds.

  • I see people saying he is "fine"-ish and comparing him to more "op" killers like judgmenet (par example). I, for my own, have 4/10 escapes against judgement and even when i lose i find it a nice match to have. The only annoying part on it are the aura seeing perks, but even with those, i have a blast (almost) going against it. Jason though? AS i have been saying. If my team has 2 ppl alive by the 3rd gen, i feel it was a fair match. OH, and i have 0% escape rate against Jason. And b4 telling me i am the problem with Jason, just bear with me and trust when i'm telling you, i am not, bcuz half of the time, i don't rlly have time to do anything. I am either running, or unhooking, or healing, because Jason is always doing something and has 0 dead (searching) time for his victims.

    1. That he only gets 1 spear is completely irrelevant. He has far more access to his ranged ability compared to Huntress. If you run out of Hatchets as Huntress, you have to abandon chase and reload. With Jason, you just reload on the fly without losing distance since there are plenty of Hooks and Crates around. All this while being 4,6 m/s instead of 4,4 m/s.
    2. Jason has so many teleport spots. They even added more than only the existing Pallets and Windows.
    3. Fair, but what it does is blocking the vault/pallet or destroying the Pallet.
    4. As I said before, there is barely any time loss, if any, if Jason reloads.

Jason on either Forsaken Boneyard map would like a word. Most of my losses as Jason (minus games where I prefer lodging Spikes into walls next to Survivors instead of at them directly) are on both Eyrie and Dead Sands. Pallet spawns and window spawns are bizarre in that Realm.

  • BHVR has a pretty consistent pattern of releasing killers and new character perks overtuned, especially if they're licensed. This pattern goes back to Ash Williams launching with an absurd Mettle of Man, if not further.

They also have another consistent pattern that they nerf that stuff 6-12 months down the road. Jason has only been out for just over 3 months. You just have to give it some time.

Agreed, DS was busted for a full year and was the first truly oppressive Surv perk. So since almost the beginning!

Also, Kaneki has had a string of nerfs and he is still loathed by Survs, despite being an M1 (down) killer with really good movement between loops.

Given how badly Jason was requested I wouldn't be surprised if he stays the same for a very long time.

I don't know if the MMR reset period is the best time to make this argument. I have also stomped the hell out of baby Jasons in recent matches. He's not a good intro killer and it's a popular franchise, so there will inevitably be weak Jasons.

Yeah while fair i’ve played against 2 of them prior to the mmr reset. The one that dc’d i have never played against before but for what it is worth is p100.
