Nowhere to hide needs to be nerfed in a different way
I do not really get why nowhere to hide is not binded to the gen instead of the killer. The reach could stay at the current range, but the aura reading needs to be static on the gen and should not be allowed to "travel with the killer" as esp. strong killers like nurse often times just relies on this.

You've got a special surprise coming up in the next patch
They've said thats actually what they'll be doing for the live release of CoS, after similar feedback.
They are going to do that later but personally I don't understand why not do it now if they are already planning on doing that
I think just because it's quicker and easier, but you're right in that considering the miniscule amount of perks they change per patch they should really have enough resources and time to do it the proper way the first time.
That was the thing I have been saying from its release that it should be tied to the gen and its finally happening. Aura reveal following the killer never made any sense.
I thought that was fixed long ago. I remember hearing about it at release.
How is it people complain everyday about stupid ######### when this hasn't been fixed?
This is how I thought it was from day one. Allowing the Aura read to be from The Killer was such a huge mistake. Super headache versus certain high mobility killers.
Even without mobility with the five second aura reveal seven if using Lethal Pursuer you could walk about half the map with any killer usually seeing most if not all survivors location.
Because they only have a few days to change anything from PTB for Live Servers, even if there are 3 weeks between PTB and Live Release. They basically have to ship the Update to all Platforms a bit over 2 weeks in advance. This makes it hard to adjust things, so if the decision to change Nowhere to Hide to be based on the Gen Location came a few days after PTB-Launch, it was most likely already too late for them to adjust it for Live Release.
I can happily confirm that the change to Nowhere To Hide will be available at the launch of Chorus of Sin, so you don't have long to wait!
Does your Browser look like this?
I thought the range nerf was fine. What is it 26 meters? Meaning you don’t have to be anywhere near a gen to be seen by it. Isn’t this a perk for finding people near gens? Why does it have a little under the same range as bond?
@ThatRyanB just confirmed (from my understanding) that the temporary range nerf is being circumvented and next patch is skipping straight to simply tying the aura to the gen without any range change, which is great to hear!
Ok thx, that's good to hear.
if you have troubles with that just take distortion. easy counter, you're welcome
nice ragebait
… but is he wrong.
objects better in every way
Touché.
Because devs like to do another few changes that arent so good at fixing the problem then rather do ONE chnage that fixes it.
Like look at skullmerchant instead they fixed problem where gens could be dmaged to infinity by locking it to some number (now its 8, ruin doesnt count) they instead nerfed merchant sooner then fixing this and 3 gen spawns, they do it like this since 2016 where istead of choosing simple yet effective way they choose the most ridiculus one and then still after some time come to relization that they will still have to change it again classic.
Like all things theres always something that counters it, no wonder when we have like 100+ perks on each side.
But this post even with that hate has some logic, main problem of nowhere to hide isnt that it reveals survivors near gens but that it moves with killer so blinking nurse, tping dreadge or charging blight, billy, ghoul get way more info from it then just ghostface who kicked it but even he does get more because the aura reveal moves with that killer.
In 2v8 I believe the aura reveal doesnt move with the killer (theres same effect basekit in 2v8 but bit weaker then now live nowhere to hide) so their nerf that they will make go live (reducing reveal range I believe its from 24 meters to 18) isnt bad but doesnt fix it compleatly and they will have to again go and do another change to it which is mentioned in this main post.
Classic devs balance changing, like drunk man walking from road to sidewalk one step forward and two back and again and again.
Its been late for few years I would say, especialy when in 2v8 I believe the aura reveal doesnt travel with the killer its juts in that radius around gen but finaly they got it right, right?
Even as killer main I was never fan of this perk as it completely negates any chances of hiding near almost complete gens. It reminds me of old Ultimate Weapon where no matter what you tried to do, you got revealed. I tried to negate this perk with blast mine + residual manifest but since turn back the clock is so popular this combo isn't very viable either way. It's very good perk and I understand why nowhere to hide is so popular. But it will always being good on medium killers while insane on top tiers. I haven't seen a single Nurse to not run this perk and we all know she utilize this perk the most as well as she will with shorter basekit borrowed time and nerfed sprint burst. I'm happy it's getting nerfed, but I'm not happy Nurse is getting side buffs quite often.
I just stated a solution for that (actual) problem, i didn't say that It doesn't need to be fixed, if you don't want to take a perk for countering another perk then it's your problem... Both sides have to play around the perks of each other so that's nothing new honestly.
They literally nerfed the reason why it was so good on strong killers like nurse as it followed the killer.
That's the point of the perk and it's literally in the name "Nowhere to hide", you can counter it by going inside a locker, also there are perks that hide your aura.
It's certainly a strong perk but not insane especially after this nerf, if turn back the clock is used so much then the killer is not using nowhere to hide, the only change I wouldn't mind is making so the survivor screams.
The base kit borrowed time is actually getting buffed with elusive and sprintburst was a meta perk for 10 years and was quite brain-dead to use, it's still not dead and you can use lithe instead.
