I'll be so happy when this masquerade is over

good ideas, but bad execution. I am CONSTANTLY accidentally activating "don't get stunned" during a chase when I hit RT to attack, I guess because my controller's R3 is super sensitive. And then that effect fires off and my attack doesn't. UGH.

BHVR, next time you do this, map the special to Y or X or let players remap it. PLEASE.

I guess I'll just ignore the invitations and try to play without them; I really almost never see survivors using them, and when they do it's to block a window AFTER I've already hit them through it.

  • I’ll be happy when it’s over because it’s nothing but Uber tunneling and camping killers every single match. All 5 people bring the BP offering just for the survivors to leave with 5-10K while the killers leave with 40-50K base points. My last three matches were 5K, 8K and 10K because of tunneling and camping.

Add to that the fact that they made this event way easier for killer than survivor. All killers had to do to get cosmetics was collect an invite. Survivors had to collect it and then survive until exit gates were powered which is exceedingly difficult when you’re only getting tunneling and camping killers.

Then the discrepancy in how much easier it is for killers to get extra anniversary points (hooks, which they can get up to 12) vs completed gens, (there’s only 5 between 4 survivors)

This whole event was just poorly planned, unbalanced and has been made miserable by people who only seem to be out to ruin it for others.

Also the pallet spawn ability is worthless because is shatters the pallet as soon as you drop it so you can’t use the pallet to block a killer, only to stun them which rarely works if ever. No point in using the event abilities at all honestly.

Were you expecting an event power to be as useful as a regular pallet??

  • You can't remap on console? I know you can on pc

  • Bhvr moment when their players are wishing for the end of the even

  • Remember that event where survivor get rewarded for completed generators no matter what they just doing? I wonder why that was cut out.

You can remap on console. I've remapped mine to Triangle as I had the exact same problem. Unfortunately this leads to another problem - If you are moving using one stick, turning using the other stick, the only way to hit triangle at the same time is to press it with my nose.

It's still preferable to regular accidental activations though.

  • On PC, the powers are keyed to Q, which on azerty keyboards is the key to "going left".

My first few games (which happened to be killer games) were really confusing until I understood the issue !

That gave me a very funny mental image, thank you.

Wouldn't one of the back bumpers be better to map it too then?

Input Bindings -> Interactions -> Activate Event Ability

Bad acting Survivors and some killers just did the rift then gave up on hook or went afk when they got their event stuff. Unfortunately, can not have good things in DBD.

  • AAAARGH!!! My tiny brain stopped looking for options when it saw "controls". I feel very dumb.

    Thanks for the help!

It took me way too long to find it too cause I'm used to input bindings being under controls in a video game T^T Glad I could be of help though

I mean killers got very useful event powers? Exposed and insta-pallet break. They both are pretty good. Especially killers are using insta-pallet break power so much. And if there is no loop to next after that, you will just get hit.

Don't forget: survivors ALSO get "block the window that the killer just hit me as I vaulted through"! Seriously, 100% of the time I see that power I have just hit the survivor who used it, and it just takes a couple more seconds to go the long way around to pick them up or continue chasing. In most cases even without the window blocked it's faster to go around than through.

I'm trying to think what WOULD be a good survivor power for this, with the stipulation that it has to be used during a chase... maybe "tap that nearby regressing generator" would be a good one.

And the spawn a pallet one would be fine if the pallet just lasted for a few seconds before automatically breaking, or if it didn't automatically break, but instead only took .5 seconds for the killer to break.

I'm not downplaying the usefulness of the power, but I think I've only used ballet break once at a god pallet and I've never used the bloodlust exposed. I see survivors getting a lot of mileage out of pallets and vault blockers, but it would be insane if survivors could spawn a free pallet that had the same level of value as a regular pallet

When they make it so survivors don't have to reach endgame or escape, it makes the game miserable FOR survivors. Because then teammates will just kill themselves on hook constantly as soon as they get their cosmetic. The fact that this time all it takes is to survivor to endgame rather than escaping is great too, because it means that you don't have to screw over teammates in the endgame to get your cosmetic. There are 12 cosmetics. You mean to tell me that in 20 days, you can't manage to survivor to endgame 12 times? Even you only play survivor, that should be very very doable. The problem is you are trying to "grind" out the cosmetics and get them all at once.

May I interest you in the Claw method? Index Finger for the button/directional pad, thumbs on the joysticks, and middle finger to hit R1/L1.

I used to play claw when playing Smash and MK but I don't think its necessary in DbD due to how many actions are tied to single buttons.

I don't even use the four main buttons unless I run the rare secondary action perks.

Honestly when I first started playing a few matches for the anniversary, I thought that the event Powers were only active if both the Killer and the Survivor in Chase had opted into the invitation, I saw it so infrequently (I also didn't grab it much).

In regards to pressing R3, maybe you're clenching when your whole hand when you press attack? I know I sometimes do. Found it a bit odd that when I got the jump on someone in a shooter game I'd end up crouching sometimes.

  • now that I've remapped invite to X I'm having a much better time, but I think the "unstunnable" ability doesn't work well and should be removed if they do something like this again.
