On Average how many games do you have until you have a fun one

I think perhaps one in ten games are fun, like old dbd where you felt it was a fair matchup. Seldom are games fun, between cheaters, sweaty aggro players, and dcs it really is not fun. Playing dbd is sort of like playing the lottery. You get one win and it hooks you to play again, but the wisest players do not play at all.

  • The majority of mine are fun, but I don't take the game seriously. I think if you have a competitive mindset it's easy to get tilted by this game. When you stop caring too much about the outcome, it's easier to enjoy the journey. I don't see too many cheaters thankfully, unless they're just really subtle about it, and I played for a few hours today and had no DCs or really sweaty players.

  • Should be the opposite question

Im not saying having a streak of bad games doesnt happen, but youre more likely going to remember a single bad game over 10 regular games

  • I generally have fun on killer.

I generally have fun in a full SWF.

Solo queue consistently makes me want to uninstall. I don't care if the killer is the sweatiest tryhard killer alive. I'm a tryhard survivor. All I ask is that the game gives me teammates with a similar playstyle to mine.

    Same

It helps that I couldn't care less about how the game goes. If I get tunneled/camped, whatever, I'll take the L and move on to the next match no worse for ware.

Although given the state of this board, I wonder if I'm playing an entirely different player base as I get tunneled/camped MAYBE once every ten games or so. Granted I can't see everything at once so maybe my teammates are getting tunneled but even then, if I notice a teammate getting tunneled, I'm one of those weird players who actually steps in and tries to break up said tunneling, even if that means I literally have to just stand still and let the killer hook me to let the fellow survivor get away.

As a killer, it feels like without a lot of the bulli squad tools like the flashlight locker saves and whatnot, those games have also gotten considerably better. But just like with my care level as survivor, my care level as killer is also low. If I get 0 killers but had some good chases against skilled survivors, that's way more fun than a GGEZ 4K against a bunch of pathetic potatoes. Although I have seemed to get a lot more pathetic potato games for whatever reason but even that's not so bad as I just take my foot off the pedal if I'm feeling it and play with my food a bit more...

But yeah, I'd say way more often than not do I have fun (or at least not a bad time) playing the game.

  • You can have fun if you take breaks. I hadn't played in months and on the first day I played again after being gone for long I had a lot of fun, although my games still had DCs and hook suicides.

in my survivor experience, i go through game after game of misery as survivor in solo q. I may have 1 good game every couple days. 9/10 games someone is hard tunneled right out of the game and there is no fun to be had in those games.

in my killer experience i try to make every game fun and not be a try hard.

  • I tend to have fun in a lot of my matches. For me, it's kinda the other way around where I will occasionally have a bad game. Most of the time, my matches are either fun and engaging, or neutral and acceptable.

  • Killer it depends.

If it's against SWF eith full coms, generally 5% of the time even with getting a 4k. Generally against survivors maybe like 70% of games are fun

    Survivor it depends

Typically I'd say about 40% of the time. I find it boring typically. I mostly play solo queue and never have coms in swf. I find that solo queue I often end up being the player who does gens and unhooks but then get left behind by the people I saved and did gens for so that's frustrating

  • Majority of my killer games are fun if i playing a decent team.

I always have fun playing swf no matter what

    in solo q..... meh

Only sweaty players are upset from playing against sweaty players.

  • Survivor around maybe after 3 games sometimes 4 and put that on a loop

Killer if I had to say roughly about 10 matches I can finally have a fun match

  • I have fun when I outplay the Nurse, although I don't always live to tell the tale. But today I did.

Majority for me are fun, however when I go too high on MMR I end up finding a match in which everyone is soooo competitive that it stresses me out, and at this point I usually give up as killer and give a chase to a survivor while letting the rest do whatever they please just to get to a mmr lvl that enables me to access the matches I want.

As survivor, though, it is more difficult, as with low mmr you find killers camping and tunnelling too often, and in high mmr you find the same, but in even more tryhard version.

As killer the only thing I mind is that in high mmr the people with meta perks start popping up everywhere, acting as tryhards and being overall annoying yet unreachable for me in my current state regarding my skills, which is frustrating.

  • You have one fun game and then you have to eat your words, just a Jake wanting to be a star and pulling down pallets to get the attention of the killer and then when killer chases him he goes down immediately and then proceeds to kill himself.

  • Why isn't it?

"Sweaty players' " main motivation is winning. True casual players' main motivation is having fun, they don't care about winning and don't call anyone sweaty. That means that players who are upset by losing are actually motivated by the same thing as "Sweaty" ones.

The only difference between so-called "Casual player" and "Sweaty player" is skill level. Which very often doesn't even mean that someone is tryharding. He/she just isn't trolling and may even eat sandwich while winning.

EDIT: and please remember that this is competitive game (players versus player). True casual players:

    1. Don't play competitive games
    2. Play against bots
    3. Resigned to the obvious fact that other players will try to win

It's not just you, I don't get alot of campers or tunnellers in my survivor games or bullies/sweat squads when I play killer. They're there but thankfully a minority. I think like someone said above, the bad games are simply alot easier to remember than the good ones. I started keeping track of my games awhile ago, noting all the undesirable things we see complained about frequently, and it really put things into perspective for me. I recommend more people do it.

You say that casual players try to have fun, but you forget that playing against a sweaty win streak Blight with C33 and Alc Ring is not fun by any means. It’s not about “winning and losing”.

  • I don't have fun on survivor anymore, at all, and haven't in a very long time (months and months) so I only play for dailies or tomes, in which I don't have any currently.

I can't remember the last time I didn't have fun playing killer. Other than when I had to play the knight and SM for her tomes, achievements, anyways. I always have fun on my main.

Question is: why do you play at all? I would have quit a long time ago if the game was as bad as it apparently is for you.

I play killer and solo q survivor about equally. Sometimes I’ll get a streak of bad matches, but overall I’d say at least half are fun.

I think getting DC/suiciding teammate is a lot more common than tunneling/camping. My play session today had a lot of DC's and suicides on first hook.

  • I don't play solo anymore.

In SWF, virtually all of them are fun. It's not even about beating the killer since a lot of times we have our own individual win conditions. Just don't take the game seriously; it really isn't worth it.

I've only just started playing again after a break, but the few hours I played yesterday had no DCs or letting go on hook thankfully. Two games had a tunnelling killer (I was the chosen one in one of those games), and in one of those games the killer was also camping. Overall, no issues. I also had one SM game but she was chill asf, which is probably why no DCs lol

I started playing yesterday after months of not playing. I had some DCs yesterday. Today though I had at least 5 DCs/suicides. It was unreal. Some days are better than others. But hey at least I escaped my last match for the day, so that's something.

Maybe with solo you could try carrying the team? As BHVR intended.

If I go on a long chase, there's a good chance my teammates don't do gens for whatever reason. If I glue myself to the gens, there's a good chance people go down instantly. And above all else, if I position correctly, there's a good chance I'm not going to get found very much or I'll have so much distance that the killer doesn't even bother starting the chase. I could alter my playstyle in an attempt to carry, or I can just play in a SWF with other good players who play like I do. We 4 out over 80% of the time. Why bother with solo queue? I have a feeling most optimal survivors stick to SWF anymore, which leads to a compounding effect of making solo queue unbearable.

  • Most of mine are fun. There's the occasional dud, but mostly the trials are very enjoyable.

  • When playing killer I'd say 3 out of every 5 are mostly fun, with 2 unfun ones is me playing against potatoes or having 2 last survs hiding for 5-10 minutes.

When playing surv it's around 1 in 5 cause I play solo.

  • If you only have fun 1/10 times you need to take the hint your brain is telling you and move DbD aside for a bit.

I don't know why that concept is so hard to grasp for this community

  • Cheaters are in about 3-10 games right now but they are keeping it on the down low for now. Seeing what they can do while building their people up to do a massive "hack" day. The games with cheaters are fun but most other games aren't anymore. Killer just slug, camp or tunnel and that's the most boring way to play.

OK. Arguing about that is pointless right now. But touching this topic, I think it would really help DBD if they seperated game into two game modes - Ranked and Casual.

  • As there was a rank reset last Saturday and I continued playing only today I can confirm every match is fun. At the beginning following a reset it's always great! Until the MMR suddenly starts orbiting planet Earth...
