Head On's Stun Time should = DS

While Head On is getting buffed in the next update, I think the stun time should be equal to Decisive Strike's (5 seconds)

Head On is harder to use and it is affected by Enduring which makes the stun useless. If the stun time is increased to 5 seconds, it will still be risky to use but it will have a greater reward.

If 5 seconds is too much, make it 4 seconds or increase the Exhaustion timers.

Where did you see a confirmation of it getting buffed next update?

Where did you see a confirmation of it getting buffed next update?

In one of the livestreams (I forget which one but it was recent) they said they were going to make it so that the stun would be cause when jumping out of the locker and they might remove the 3 seconds needed to activate it.

  • With the upcoming tweak to enduring its more likely ds' duration gets lowered.

  • Enduring is getting changed to only affect pallet stuns.

I don't think they have said one way or the other if they will also bring the DS stun time down a bit with this change as well. Since it was increased after its rework to compensate for Enduring affecting it. I think Head On will be fine where it's at once Enduring no longer affects it. Especially if they buff it to make it easier to use.

  • Actually i think because of the enduring change ds is gonna get nerfed back to 3 seconds or 4 seconds alternatively.

Also "they said they were going to make it so that the stun would be cause when jumping out of the locker and they might remove the 3 seconds needed to activate it."

    Neat

They never said that. That would be so broken.

What they said on stream wasn't exactly a buff. They said they were looking at tweaking the stun radius in a way to make it more reliable in how it reads if it should or shouldn't stun the killer. Sometimes the killer would move out of its radius right as you were using it.

In other words more reliable. That was it.

I do however think Head On could use a small buff. Maybe a small stun duration increase like you mentioned or less Exhaustion cooldown than the other Exhaustion perks.

  • DS should not be touched and it needs to remain at a 5 second stun.

The perk exists as so because killers tend to tunnel. I run it and use it almost every game.

He literally didn't say a single thing about nerfing DS. Did you actually read the post?

  • Remember... enduring is being changed... head on could be perfect the way it is.... DS should be the same 3 seconds after enduring is changed

  • What are they doing to enduring?

It will only affect pallet stuns now but it will reduce them by a little more.

Wait, so Endurings 75% recovery on pallets is getting a BUFF?

    Yes.

It's going to very, very slight, but it will reduce them by a tiny bit more. However now it will no longer affect any other stuns such as Head On, DS etc.

  • Devs already explained in a livestream that they are changing Enduring to only affect pallet stuns, and fixing it so the stun reduction is actually 75%, instead of the calculated result that is currently 43%.

So Head On doesn’t need to be changed, since Enduring already is being changed.

Head on needs changed cause it blows, not because of any interaction it may have had with Enduring.

    Other people did.

  • Their posts are off topic.

Also, it was literally only 2 people that said they think the devs might lower the DS stun time. They were guessing what the devs might do, not what should be done. This means they mentioned nothing about what they wanted done to DS at all.

That's why the post didn't make any sense.

  • @Blueberry I’ve quoted this from Peanits but I cut part of it out since the rest was just explaining the new enduring.

    1. This way we can re-evaluate stun perks and better balance their stun times. Currently we need to make sure that anything affected by enduring lasts long enough that it doesn't render enduring completely useless. Take a look at DS, for example. It was a 4 seconds stun, where the survivor was locked into the animation for one second. This leaves you with only ~1.28 seconds to run if the killer is using DS. As a result, the stun time was raised to 5 seconds, giving you ~1.85 seconds to run. With that in mind, we could potentially lower it back down to 4 seconds (or even 3 seconds) after this change, making it more consistent whether or not you're using enduring.

It basically allows us better control over balancing stun perks so you're not forced to run enduring just to counter them. All things considered, you probably aren't getting hit with stun perks all too often currently. Decisive strike is easily avoidable and Head On is like a unicorn (it just doesn't exist, and I won't believe you if you say you've seen one). Ultimately you're going to save loads more time with the pallet stun reduction than you would lose from stun perks.

  • Head On doesn't need a buff, (although any buffs are gratefully received) just make it work so when you go to use it you know it actually works!

Yeah I already knew about most all that.

"All things considered, you probably aren't getting hit with stun perks all too often currently"

    I disagree.

    "Decisive strike is easily avoidable"

    I disagree.

"Head On is like a unicorn (it just doesn't exist, and I won't believe you if you say you've seen one)"

Head On isn't really what I'm referring to in relation to getting hit with stuns.

"Ultimately you're going to save loads more time with the pallet stun reduction than you would lose from stun perks."

I'm not sure what your point is with all this. This is way off topic and not what we're talking about in this thread at all.

It's an interesting topic, I'd just rather not derail OP's thread.

  • @Blueberry I forgot to cut some of it out.

  • Please extend the time of the stun because the stiffening time of the survivor occurs.
