How do YOU think the new DS is going to be received?

Do you think this will remove most complaints about tunneling?

Do you think it will be deemed as more broken than its predecessor the further into the trial it is used?

Do you agree with its increased accessibility (easier skill check)?

Do you agree with its activation condition and instant use x4?

Do you agree with killers having no counter to it aside from "do not tunnel," slugging, enduring (maybe), or mori?

Do you think it will DEFINE THE META O_O;;?

Thanks in advance - All replies are valued :3

This is the same case for survivors who saved it on the pre-rework version...

At least with current DS you have a chance to get them to the hook before you drop them. The new DS has the skill check appear while you're picking a Survivor up and the skill check is bigger than a normal one, meaning the Survivor can break free before you start moving.

  • Has my prophecy come to pass?

  • I was against decisive for years now, but now its overnerfed. They need to remove obsession part of it. Killers can just slug you for short time after tunneling. But if ds didnt make you obsession killer would have to guess.

  • @HazeHound

Overnerfed? What are you talking about?

In my opinion the perk gets actually buffed. All drawbacks and valid counterplay gets removed.

The "counter" after the change would be hardcamp for 2 minutes or delay every 2nd pick up for 60 seconds. And since you don't have a clue IF the victim has DS, you need to act on every survivor as if he had it.

  • @Wolf74 What are you talking about? If you want to tunnel all you have to do is slug the obsession for couple of seconds. Keep in mind that timer starts at unhook. Count in bt and chase and in some scenarios you don't even have to slug.

For me the intended change is wonderful because i very rarely tunneled. For me ds is gone. But if killer decides to tunnel he has easy job. Killer takes no obsession perk and knows if there is or there isn't ds in game. Perk will not be taken that often after initial hype because it strenght depended on dynying the first chase, now mechanic is gone and people will not take the perk that is useless if killer plays normally this often. Especially after rework hype is gone.

Don't get me wrong, I am the number one to throw this perk into garbage can. Camped so many people just for using it bcoz it broke game... but now its not only not broken, it is useless even when intended situation happens because smart killer can deny it completely.

Imo ds should not make survivor an obsession, only object should. This way killers would have to have this possibililty in mind even in games with no obsession. Either this, or perk should just activate after beeing downed 60s after unhook for ever until used or hooked again. Otherwise only people who don't know it exist will be stabbed and campers/tunnelers will do their business normally.

    How so

Imagine how much survivors would cry if killerperks were as uncounterable as survivor metaperks, like if we had perks that gave us free hooks like DS/BT.

Imagine if Rancor could be countered and the obsession couldn't be mori'd, if Tinkerer didn't remove your terror radius at 85%. Imagine if Bitter Murmur didn't show you where everyone was.

Imagine if well you get the ideas, there's some killer perks that're uncounterable but hey let's not let facts get in the way again. It's almost as if you can't already mori the person once they get off the hook, I mean imagine that you can permanently remove the survivor from the game.

Now imagine if killers actually did that and planned ahead like the good ones do now and how they already mori the DS user off the hook. Isn't it amazing how the good killers adapt and already mori anyone they think or know has DS.

  • Does Distortion counter Bitter Murmur?

Serious question - I am ignorant as to whether it does.

  • @Raccoon that depends on how many gens you do or if they have another aura perk that you trigger, if you do two gens and no other aura perk trips then yes.

  • The same way as when DS was nerfed the first time. Nobody will use it for a few months... then everyone will run it again soon after once they get over their initial REEEE'ing over it being nerfed.

I still won't use it unless the tunneling/camping emta becomes worse, but Unbreakable and No Mither etc might become used finally.

The 2 perks you mentioned are literally easily counterable. Rancor gives you info where the killer is and that he has rancor. Bitter Murmur is countered by distortion.

Tinkerer proccs so late that it's only relevant on a billy, I've never seen it being used

  • Can you counter Tinkerer with OoS and Spine Chill?

Yes, it just hides TR, I wouldn't consider OoS a counter tho since the killer basically can see you I BELIEVE (never encountered tinker with OoS)

Yeah, the killer should be able to see you because there isn't a TR canceling the perk. Just like a cloaked Wraith or crouched Pig.

OoS works on wraith/Crouched Pig? Feelsbadman I think it doesn't work on EW1 myers

Correct, but only because EW1 Myers specifies being immune to detection perks.

Correct, but only because EW1 Myers specifies being immune to detection perks.

I've always thought that OoO and Premonition should work on EW I Myers because both are based upon that. For OoO you could make it only work if it's a Laurie or make it so that even if the killers not looking he gets notified. (Not sure how that'd work but to make it fair for killers, the new changes really screwed the perk up)

For Premonition it even says it trumps all killers stealth abilities and if you think about it Laurie always had that 6th sense when Myers was around.

  • I think the change is fair, though so far I'm seeing killer mains complaining about it not being harsh enough lmao. Some people. That's like the survivor mains complaining about bbq even after all the adjustments to give survivors more of a chance to hide their auras. It's laughable. If the survivor isn't given the chance to do anything (found and downed within a minute, whether it's being tunneled or just poor positioning), that's fine. People act like the minute doesn't start until they're downed and there's pretty decent counters people are just ignoring like not tunneling or leaving them for a bit before picking them up. It's like people forgot that DS can currently be used whenever and often rewards misplays. Having someone stab you right off the bat is far better than bringing someone to a hook just to have a struggle DS and them get loose, too. It wastes so much time and it being an instant thing is fine.
