  • I don't know if this is because of the new anti-cheat but the game now has random massive lag spikes every so often when i'm trying to play killer and i was wondering if you guys at BHVR are aware of this issue.

  • sadly experiencing lots of stuttering/jutters in every match.

i can PLAY, but it occurs multiple times per match, sometimes at bad times

  • The day Denuvo was installed up to now, my computer has slowed down immensely. All of my games will suffer lag spikes never before seen. I checked every avenue. I cleaned my computer tower, ran immense and in depth anti virus scans, and have confirmed that my disks and storage is optimized. The only outlier here is Denuvo. These issues only appeared when Denuvo entered the equation. This anti cheat makes almost any multiplayer game unplayable. Thank you for your time if you've read all the way through.

  • Does nothing but cause severe stuttering and crashes every match I go into. Finally gave up trying after losing 6 grades and getting a 2 hour ban timer. This anti cheat is trash

  • Ive never gotten so many matchmaking bans in my life. This anticheat started with affecting both sides for me and now killer 90% of my matches my game starts bugging out. This trial should have been opt in only this ######### is buns

  • Yall refused to help me and automatically hit deny. I got a 6 hour ban. Support did not do ######### lmao

For players experiencing frame drops or performance issues, we do not believe this is connected to Denuvo but we want to look into it. Can you please contact Support?

I did contact support and you have auto denials on. Its absolutely bc of denuvo, i didnt have the issues ive been having the night before it was added. The 2nd pic is the position i was stuck in for 3 mins before i got disconnected the last time

3rd image is the automated email i got.

Video about these constant & repetitive kicks… For now, I serve my sentence as punishment to try to debug when it really isn't my job…

Man, that video is terrifying. Those green and white pixels flashing before the black screen are classic signs of a severe VRAM and GPU artifact collapse. Denuvo’s insane overhead is forcing the display drivers into such a critical timing delay that the graphics card is hitting the emergency brake to save itself from physical permanent damage

That is precisely why the official European DbD Discord server is in an uproar. The screenshot now confirms the technical chain reaction with 100% certainty: the Denuvo overhead causes a PC player to crash; their client drags the synchronization of the entire server lobby down with it, and the system ultimately locks out the innocent other players (most the Killerplayer). The fact that this bug completely breaks cross-platform play and punishes console players with six-hour bans is an absolute disaster.

  • have been experincing crashes since the denuvo update 5 crashes in a row all sent with the relevant information when the crash alert pop up :(

Yes, exactly this. I'm afraid for my hardware !
The thing is with Denuvo, my game crashes even during a custom trials against bots. Until the next patch, I'm avoiding more penalties trying to play in this way.

  • It seems to reduce my fps by a bit

  • i even posted about denuvo being bad and my concerns before the trial started in two separate topics. I knew this was going to happen. Who is ready for the next anti cheat we’re trialing? Anyone show of hands?

Bhvr we’re not testers we’re paying customers and what you’re doing is playing fast and lose with our hardware which has become outrageously expensive to replace and you haven’t even terminated the trial despite how obvious of a flop it is. you guys should be ashamed but something tells me you don’t feel shame when you swim in a sea of endless cash.

    Stop the steam only tests.

  • Cannot open the game since the update. Easy anti-Cheat blocks Denuvo. Even when I desinstall and reinstall, nothings work. even when I delete manually…. That's bullshit seriously.

i totally agree, shut it down immediately if you want to keep your paying player base. dont wait until wednesday!

  • Since the last update, I haven't been able to play DbD at all—whereas before, I could. It freezes on the startup screen, and when I do manage to get into the lobby, it freezes—and locks up my entire computer—for some strange reason called Denuvo. I really hope they realize this is affecting far more people than they expected and decide to remove it, because right now, the game is unplayable. They try to fix one thing and end up breaking a thousand others.

  • BHVR do NOT listen to these people. They are thrashing the comments in hope to go back to EAC.

Denuvo is very clearly better at doing it's job. The crashes always happen the first time you implement something. Nothing goes as smooth as you'd hope.

People whining that they won't play because they heard "scary" things about a program is unrealistic, EAC does the EXACT same thing, both kernel drivers.

Just keep collecting crash logs and improving.

I hope the amount of evidence proving the issues is listened too and you are not. No one is rooting for eac here, denuvo is just as bad as eac but even more trash due to the problems it’s causing for people.

Besises the results don’t matter anyway since eac is running alongside denuvo.

You clearly have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Comparing a standard, functioning EAC implementation to this broken Denuvo trial implementation proves you don't understand the underlying technical crisis. This is not about "scary rumors" or people just wanting to "whine." This is about verified, catastrophic system instability.Let's break down the actual engineering facts for you:

    • Kernel-Level Corruption: This is not just a simple game crash. The faulty integration of Denuvo into the DX12 netcode blocks core Windows synchronization. It has actively corrupted critical OS files like appsruprov.dll, forcing automated system repairs via SFC Scannow just to make PCs stable again.
    • Severe Hardware Risks: The loop caused by CurrentQueue.Fence in the D3D12 utility engine forces processors into infinite cycles, resulting in massive, uncontrolled thermal spikes. Telling paying customers to just "keep collecting logs" while their four-figure hardware setups are being pushed to dangerous thermal limits is borderline reckless.
    • Storage Degradation: Hard freezes accompanied by massive, abnormal drive spikes of up to 1.5–1.7 GB/s are actively damaging SSD and HDD lifespans.

EAC has its flaws, but it never systematically weaponized the DX12 render pipeline to freeze the entire Windows kernel and lock players out with automated 6-hour matchmaking bans across crossplay lobbies.

We are paying customers, not uncompensated QA lab rats. If you want to let a corporation stress-test its broken, unoptimized trial phases on your own expensive hardware until it fries, be our guest. The rest of the global community values their systems and expects actual accountability.

Oh its f-ing console over too???? Wth

I got a 6 hour ban recently and ive never gotten so many matchmaking bans over something thats not my fault EVER

  • Brother we dont like EAC either. They reverted to the free version years ago and cheaters ran rampant.

People are allowed to be mad denuvo sucks. Thats what forums are for

Its affecting console now too. Most competent dbd players also hate EAC bc so many cheaters get around it bc bhvr has the free version and wont spend real money. EAC is also garbage.

  • In my experience, since the latest anti-cheat patch, I've been having the following issue with lag: whenever the game detects lag, I get desynchronized and disconnected from the server, and the game ends up crashing. This makes the game much less enjoyable to play. I live in an area surrounded by hills, so my signal is extremely unstable, and my game starts lagging about every 15 minutes.

Despite that, I have over 6,100 hours of playtime on Steam under the username Chungosaurio. Since the new anti-cheat was introduced, the game has been crashing even in custom matches, so I haven't been able to play since the latest update.

My brother has also been having issues with Dead by Daylight since the latest BugFix patch and the new anti-cheat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Dude ive managed to get into there support side and they still believe its not caused by Denuvo and told me to do the things i already fecking did and not only that they wanted my systems DxDiag file and my MSInfo file to apparently "Diagnose" it when i know damn well before the Denuvo update i was fecking fine for my fps like what the actual feck are they playing at

Surprised you got through, i got an auto denial email within 30 seconds. They arent budging on this at all. For a bit it mainly affected my killer matches then it started atfecting survivor just as often. I'm taking a break til this crap is gone. Its absolutely denuvo. Im not giving them files from my pc thats crazy. Idk why theyre standing 10 toes down but i was talking to a coworker abt it and mentioned denuvo and they started laughing, idk what game they experienced their bs w but they recognized the name and said thats why its messing up, its denuvo.

  • just tried it again on steam after 3/4 day break legit unplayable still, bricked my laptop in a custom game I was testing it on, then struggled to even load the game back up afterwards. I'm not sure why this hasn't been reverted yet it's clearly not something that is gonna work if people can't even play the game.

  • I find it really frustrating as well that they didn't even remove the timeout penalties for steam players temporarily while testing this new anti cheat. like it was the least that could have been done. I'm legit scared to even que up for a game least I end up with massive penalties that are going to be accumulated when this is actually fixed and working again

  • image.png

The game still launches as EAC and also, the game has crashed 4 times over the last 3 days. Its unbearable. And I keep getting DC penalties for the game crashing. Its infuriating.

if you check task manager its not just a graphic eac is running alongside denuvo.

  • You guys are spot on, and thank you for the upvotes! It’s absolutely insane that BHVR leaves the matchmaking penalties active while their new kernel-level anti-cheat acts like a digital wrecking ball. Getting your laptop/pc bricked and struggling to even boot or load files afterwards is exactly caused by Denuvo’s massive hard drive spikes and kernel timeouts (like the CurrentQueue.Fence crashes).

Also, please DO NOT send them your MSInfo files, everyone. The support is completely overwhelmed and using 30-second auto-denial bots anyway. They just want to shift the blame to your hardware. The fact that the game even crashes in Custom Matches proves it's 100% a local Denuvo issue, not our setups. Keep your private files safe, protect your PCs, and take a break until Wednesday (Day X) when they are forced to revert this mess. We stood our ground, and they can’t ignore a burning forum!

  • I’ve paid for this game (also for in-game outfits, DLCs, and so on) and I love this game, the gameplay, and even the random players I meet; that’s exactly why it hurts so much right now to see BHVR and their management driving the game into the ground with a digital wrecking ball like Denuvo…

Please, finally listen to your many players and pull the emergency brake before you lose us all…

  • I've been getting pretty significant FPS drops since the update. I've played against two cheaters since the test started (which seems much larger than normal) , though it could be that cheaters are just checking out if their cheats still work. Pretty small sample size though, so thats mostly anecdotal.

  • Well i think the devs as of right now probably need to come out with a statement with how garbage this progress has been. Why doing this tests on live servers and not in a ptb? You first want to test if something wont break before you put it to test in live. Its not like we can test if there are less cheaters if we cant have normal games....

They should remove all the dc penalties gained during this week to all players affected with this test week. Because even tough my dc penalty is only 15 minutes it is bullshit that i have to wait 15 minutes for changes to the game made by the devs to test a new program as like we are there Guinea Pig.

  • "Why doing this tests on live servers and not in a ptb?"
    Legit question.

  • Has anyone tried to close/shutdown Denuvo in the background from the Task Manager?

To see if it increases performance and/or resolves some issues. Or does Denuvo restart itself?

Just asking. I haven't launched DBD since the test day.

I just suggested this because there's one person who closed it and they said that game ran better.

I guess you were just unlucky that it didn't work for you, unfortunately.

Which leaves me wondering what kind of anti-cheat it is if you can just close it from the background.

I personally also think denuvo is working better then EAC (my game runs more smooth from playing over the week but im also on linux so have no windows issues)

But thats not a reason to just throw out issues everyone else is having with the new system, PCs can be custom built and every rig is different so just because yours is running better does not mean everyone is.

Very weird. I did manage to play a single match of survivor an hour or so ago and didnt have issues but ill prob come back to the game tomorrow when denuvo leaves

  • Denuvo is causing huge delay and lag with my inputs. I've tried every fix and my inputs are fine in everything else but DBD, and I started experiencing this problem after Denuvo got released.

  • is this trial going to be ended today so that i can actually play 2 vs 8 today or do i have to wait even longer to play the game on steam 😅

    Thank you!

Ever since this update launched the game has become unplayable for me. There is an extreme keyboard delay. And I mean extreme. I could press w for about 10 seconds and be stuck moving the entire game. Skill checks don’t show up, and when they do, only for a second. The movement delay is happening to me on both survivor and killer. I’ve tried restarting my pc, deleting the game and restarting my pc again, redownload the game, and it’s still like this.

  • Surprising, the Denuvo produces so many & various effects depending of the hardware & others. But I'm really curious to know if it actively fights the cheats as it is pretended to be. But it's hard to tell…
Finally the basic Easy Anti-Cheat wasn't so bad even it was useless again cheats…

You've hit the nail on the head… It’s just sad. I honestly don’t know what to make of it anymore. The fact is, trust has been completely destroyed… and not just for me…

  • I’m not sure if it’s related, but since last Wednesday my ping has become so unstable that I can’t play a single match without getting kicked for latency.
