The Game rework and Circle of Healing still OP

The Game needs a rework, the map is visually nice but poor in loops and ridiculous full of pallets.

CoH still needs more nerf... Cooldown would be nice.

  • Cooldown will not fix the problem. The problem with COH is it grants pretty much a free healing station for everyone and guarantees a 5th perk to all other survivors a cooldown won’t fix it. The self healing part is the problem. Make the perk heal 100% faster but remove the self heal to balance it

I feel like this would only hurt SoloQ. A SWF could run two of these perks and the Booners would run to the opposite Boon.

  • When you get The Game as Nurse: gg ezi! Haha.

When you get The Game as any M1 killer: I want to hook myself and move on.

The perk can be balanced by just making sure the self-heal takes long enough that the time trade off to do it is a noticeable investment. If it took 60 seconds to heal yourself using Circle of Healing for instance it would be worthless to bother, by the time you managed to do it you’d be basically throwing the game by not doing gens or rescuing others for that long. And on the flip side if it took 10 seconds it would be way too fast. So there is a time range below 60 second and above 10 seconds where it’s still a good enough effect to consider using the perk but still take long enough that it’s not overpowering.

If I had to guess I’d say something around the time it takes to do a Self Care is where it’s probably starting to take too long (since it’s not just that 32 seconds at that point but also the time back and forth to wherever the totem is plus time to set or reset it plus the risk it won’t be available at all when you really need it.) I think the current version is in the 20-25 second range, so it’s not quite as long as 30 seconds but it’s definitely closer then it used to be. It may even be at the low end of the acceptable range now, maybe, hard to say.

How can i make perk trash-tier.

    Just remove it lol

  • Circle of Healing could arguably reduced once more to 33% but it’s pretty much there. The Game map is fine. It’s a map of pallets. It’s the only map of pallets in DBD.

I like what The Game provides: variety.

  • Would you rather a unbalanced Perk that makes you want to smash your face in?

or a perk that’s not as strong but is at least balanced and not Frustrating to deal with

I don’t won’t a garbage perk either to but this perk is so unbalanced that we can’t make a middle ground. Even if the healing speed is 5% it would still be great

Perk should be Self-Care (32 seconds for heal yourself). Remove all bonus speed. And then perk can be balance. But removing self-heal would kill perk forever.

Although, two strategically placed shadow steps in the game, and even the Nurse will be in big trouble. Remember detection is her main weakness.

  • Boons are fundamentally problematic perks as long as the killer has no way to remove them from the game. The devs can nerf CoH all they want, but unless they make the perk worthless then it's going to cause issues.

And once CoH gets nerfed to uselessness you'll practically never see boons in any matches since even if survivors run other boons it's almost always paired with CoH.

  • Just remove boons, it was a mistake like plenty other mechanics.

No, cooldown wouldn't solve problem of coh. In my opinion we should rework boons as mechanic. Let totems break after you snuff boon out so there is a risk of setting boon close to killer and going to long distances just to get rid off boon as killer would be rewarded.

As for The Game, yea i completly agree. I played there as Freddy last night and this map brings back vietnam flashbacks.

  • This map is a perfect example of "how have they not limited boons from being able to affect multiple floors?" It nearly doubles their effective range, and increases the time for the killer to approach and snuff them out substantially. For all the other arguing over what is/isn't ok with their implementation, im pretty sure this should be a fairly obvious one.

  • Until they make it so that Boons break the totems when snuffed and the perks are forever removed from the trial, I do not believe they can be balanced correctly.

Boons should be incredibly powerful buffs that survivors should be cautious about employing. If the killer snuffs it, it's gone for good - reduced to rubble with an empty perk slot for the trouble.

Boon totems should make survivors feel powerful, with other team members gaining a veritable 5th slot of huge proportions. Meanwhile, killers that take the time to snuff the totem should be rewarded in kind by removing the perk from play.

Until they do this, Boon totems will wallow in an uncomfortable place.

The Killer is rendered powerless, as trying to snuff out totems atop normal gameplay can prove trifling. It's not only unfun, but it can lose the killer the game in certain cases. Make the Boons fun for survivors and now the killer is in an absolute lose-lose situation.

The survivors have no reason to use it, as trying to balance the perpetual nature of the perk inevitably makes the utility of its effect stunted and obtuse. Survivors must spend time blessing a totem and then must force particular situations to find use from it. Which means that so long as the boons are properly balanced for the killer, they become boring and useless to survivors with little overlap between.

Until Survivors can have a powerful effect, they won't be happy with the perk slot. Until killers have a way around Boon perks, making them fun and interesting to bring into the trial will absolutely ruin the game.

  • I personally believe COH is now sitting in a better spot. Yeah, I can get COH spammed into oblivious as the killer, but now it comes with an opportunity cost - they're not immediately getting value just by finding one totem. To me, that's pretty balanced.

When those multiple boon sounds go off in the distance I'm not thinking "Damnit time to tunnel or watch them heal instantly." Instead I'm gravitating more to, "Okay, so no gens have been started yet." Or, "I should really consider sloppy butcher again."

Can confirm. I still respect the hell out of Shadow Step.
