Should this game have a block button?
So you don't get qued in matches with people who have been crappy or toxic to you past matches and you'd rather avoid their drama?

It'll take 0,1 seconds before people start blocking good players to make their games easier.
Only if you tell us your steam or console id so we can all collectively block you. Its what you want isn't it?
It will just cause infinite queues as you'd have to consider who was banned by each of the 5 respective players needed.
Also as @Clowning pointed out it would be abused by people who want easier games by blocking all of the good players they have played against.
They'd have to block thousands of people. The bar for "good" is pretty low in DBD. They could block as many people as they'd like but they'd never truly get rid of people of equal or better skill than themself.
In a perfect world where people reserved such a function for genuinely unpleasant people nobody should have to deal with? Sure.
But that world doesn't exist. Not only do people have wildly varying definitions of toxicity ranging from "slinging slurs in end game chat" to "using a perk I don't like", but systems like this in the past has proven that people simply block people that are better than them.
Overwatch has an avoid as teammate option, that used to be an avoid player option. It's not too uncommon to see people really dislike good Widowmaker players, so some of the best ones got blocked by so many people that the game had serious problems managing to find them a match through matchmaking. Now apply that to DBD, killers playing disliked killers well and survivors "too good at looping" both get blocked among other situations.
If the blocklist had limited slots (as in 3-5 slots) maybe that would encourage people to reserve the slots for genuinely unpleasant people. I'd be fine with at least trying that.
Image the player base is 10 people, each player block 1 other player.
If you're A, the only possible game you can have is A, C, E, W, Y.
B cant be in game because A block them. D cant be in game because C block them, F cant be in game because E block them....
And you know what, you will have a life time of playing DBD only against C,E,W,Y. Soon or later you will block them too, or they block you.
May be after 1 year long searching for a match, you're able to found a lobby because player J just joined the game and no one block them yet. Then J guy will block all 4 other players because tbagging...
Why do people assume this means everyone? I mean people who are rude dbags at the end of matches and such. I'd rather avoid drama people. But if you're admitting to being a person who is like that well then.
As it turns out some of us play games to have fun not deal with man children throwing tantrums.
No. Apart from @C3Tooth perfect demonstration as to why, this has been tried in other games and had to be removed.
Back in the day DbD had a thing called "MLGA" or something, which allowed you to do exactly that. And the game was fine and well, nobody was blocking everyone, matchmaking worked as expected, etc. So not only it has been tried before, it has been tried before in DbD itself and it went perfectly well: the game didn't even slightly go to dying. I think the real answer to the question is that toxicity is part of the game and every player must be forced to be matched against pricks because it's part of DbD itself. DbD is not DbD without endless toxic streams of bile from both sides, so for this sole reason the blocklist functionality will not be implemented officially. Those toxic SWF sweat squads spent their money on bright colorful skins for a reason, now you are there to make their spent money worth it! Don't even dare avoiding the humiliation.
Well if it's been done before and worked why is it no longer a thing? Like why would they take that away? It raises some questions about that.
MLGA was a fan made software, it could detect killer's IP for identification and had its own blacklist of players. Whenever you joined a lobby with someone you blocked with it, you would know it and could dodge the lobby. It worked back then when the killer was the host. Now that they have dedicated servers it's no longer the case and such software can't work anymore, since everyone connects to the severs and so the players can't be identified by IP.
They honestly should just implement something like this in the game the devs themselves I feel. Would make the game a lot more relaxing and fun.
Back in the day, lobbies ended up breaking because of the nonstop dodging. It was definitely not OK.
