I don't get it, we were told this chapter was gonna be lgbt related but I see nothing related to it, is the new killer lgbt or the survivor in some way?
Between the leather and the cowboy outfit there's quite a village people vibe going on
Ehh with the leather I just think of a biker type of vibe. And cowboy I just think of well a regularl cowboy costume. Sure you can associate LGBT people with those tropes but they're not exclusively LGBT.
Trickster is gay clearly. also if they add gay survivor they maybe get tunneled/sandbagged so i don't know if its a good idea.
Just because he has feminine/flashy qualities doesn't mean he's gay. That's just the style of k-pop. And I find it hard to believe that every single k-pop artist is gay.

Buffalo Bill would actually be a pretty cool killer from silence of the lambs.
Buffalo Bill could be interesting, but he is clearly stated to not be LGBTQ+ (At least in the books) ((well? Maybe queer? I don’t know if that counts tbh))

Buffalo Bill killed and skinned women to make a "woman suit" for himself, which might not be ideal wrt trans representation...

historically speaking biker gangs, cowboys and pirates were a way for queer people to elope. there's a reason people associate those things with being gay - because for a while they existed because people weren't allowed to be gay normally so we just went off and did our own thing.
The characters are as LGBT as you want them to be imo. David and Dwight have found a way to make the lonely nights by the camp fire less lonely.
Start putting LGBT specific characters in and then the assumption is that everybody is straight unless stated otherwise. And that ruins my head cannon completely.

Nurse, Felix, Oni and David lore kinda contradict this, they at least have already been stated to have had heterosexual relationships.

Well it says he believed himself to be transsexual, but was too distrurbed to qualify for gender reassignment treatment.
I guess they already have leatherface with the human skin thing going on.
having heterosexual relationships does not make one straight.
The devs said they'd only confirmed the orientations of heterosexual characters. Regardless, what you're saying doesn't invalidate anyone's request for explicitly LGBT relationships.

Never said so. But for Nurse or Felix it kinda confirms they are not lesbian/gay either.
Having LGBTQ+ representation (maybe only by mentioning a same sex partner in the story) doesn’t make everyone else straight either. And there goes your initial argument...

Agreed, we should remove nurse and felix from the game
Okay. David, Oni, and at least the cosmetics of Wraith and Ace as well?
or we could stop trying to find excuses for exclusion and just treat any LGBTQ+ topics the same way that heterosexuality has been treated in the game?
In fairness, I was not aware of any reference to previous partners in their lore; I treated the characters how I would with say a player character in an RPG: They are whatever I want them to be. Hence (jokingly) saying we should remove them.
Nah im just kidding dont worry <3 Theyre too pretty to remove
You'd be surprised the lengths some people will go to to argue against LGBT inclusion (or women, non-white people, and so on). You wouldn't be the first one to say they'd rather have the devs remove large portions of the game rather than just treating everyone equally.

That’s okay and you will still be able to do this with lore-confirmed LGBTQ+ chars. Nothing really hinders headcanons and fan-fiction after all.
but that’s the thing, heterosexual topics kinda slip through and nobody bats an eye but once LGBTQ+ possibility gets mentioned many people lose it..

Not at all my intention, sorry if it came across like that... my main point was that I kind of like it ambiguous. That way in my head all the hot characters can gay/bi and the straight people get Jeff.

I guess so, and I appreciate the need for representation in video games. It would also be a great addition just to trigger the homophobes...

Too late for ambiguous. However, the fact that you didn't know that tells me you don't read the lore to begin with. So, no harm done (not that there was any to begin with).
What's sexuality got to to do with fixing generators and escaping a killer .....
What's sexuality got to do with brushing your teeth, drinking coffee or writing an essay? I did all these things today but I was still bi while doing them
The fault lies solely with the fanbase. The devs said nothing.
Yes, the Dev's didn't say anything to do with an LGBTQ+ chapter.
But after the hype created by fans, couldn't they have just added a short bit into the lore anyway? It genuinely wouldn't have taken much effort on thier part.
Wait, I haven't read Nurse's archive lore yet. What happened there?
Who mentioned the archive? I'm talking about the Nurse's original lore, the one she launched with. It mentions her husband and her desire for a big family. None of that has to do with gameplay, obviously, but nobody spoke up back then.

Oh. I thought big family meant like having children, not polyamory. My bad.

The likely starting point for the nurse's mental health going into terminal decline was the death of her husband. If we all agree that sexuality and relationships have no place in a game like dbd it'll have to be rewritten, maybe she went mad when her coffee machine broke instead or something. Seems a bit lees engaging to me but sometimes we have to pay a high price to get the politics outta vidya games.

If game development was predicated on what the fans imagine things to be, it'd be the end of gaming as we know it.
The character is not LGBT. That's all. What the fans made up is not relevant; it's borderline fan fiction.

I mean, I read some, I don't recall any mention of partners even in those that I have though, for example David. If we are talking archives though, then I am severely lacking in the ones I have unlocked at the moment.

He is not clearly gay, what are you talking about?
nothing has been mentioned about his sexuality whatsoever.
also the sandbag/tunnel argument can be used against adding people of color or something else, too. So it’s not an argument to be exclusive at all.
😭 let me have this

well he is a licensed character and we also got Freddy, and even the reboot version..
IF he gets ever added I am sure they will write his background story not tasteless. It was pretty well handled in the books as far as I can recall..
Where is it? I never saw it (an announcement tied to this chapter that is)

Yeah, I'm disappointed that there still isn't a confirmed LGBTQ+ character in DbD. Especially after the hype around the all kill chapter speculations.

you got jebaited and clickbaited, BHVR never said anything about LGBT
Nah im just kidding dont worry <3 Theyre too pretty to remove
They did though. Just not in relation to the All-Kill chapter. Some people took speculation too seriously.

Jeff is bae, no homo.

Dunno, but the devs already started down that path with the Nurse, so we're kinda stuck with it now. 🤷♂️
It's too bad you didn't speak up back then, could've prevented this whole thing.
What's sexuality got to do with brushing your teeth, drinking coffee or writing an essay? I did all these things today but I was still bi while doing them
Normalizing LGBT culture is a good thing. Different sexualities can be ignored and accepted by the eldritch horror known as the Entity.
Why does it have to be related at all?
we already got plenty of lore in-Game that has nothing to do with the game mechanics.
the devs want to be inclusive and want to create realistic and diverse characters. Nothing wrong with that.
Wait, I haven't read Nurse's archive lore yet. What happened there?

Got an awful lot to do with what happens around that campfire between trials and I can tell you now, it wont be PG

I'm still confused.

That's an interesting point.
I'm not sure what the confusion here is.
Pretty sure Orion just meant the inclusion of sexuality at all. In the case of Nurses original story, heterosexuality.
she was deeply in love with her husband and they wanted to have children.
now when people ask for LGBTQ+ to be treated the same as heterosexuality, somehow sexuality doesn’t have a place in this game anymore..
