I guess the Devs said that this game isnt ment to have communication? I guess not having it in game is the reasoning maybe? I always figured its a given that voice communication is going to happen.
I think they should at least implement something to tell you your dealing with SWF but then you may have a lot of DCing.
@December_1863 i thought it was directed at me i am sorry again. Its just how it read.

Ignore him if it's directed at you, no need to apologize for having an opinion, it was meant generally, but it's considered an issue cause it makes some of the Killer's moves he could do ruined by intel.
So the major issue is intel? Is that it? I thought the counter for that was to try and force a three gen?
I also tend to be overly polite and respectful to people i dont know.

if your skills are entirely based on the other team's ability to communicate, you need to go back to fortnite and leave the rest of the community alone. no one cares that people playing with their friends is an issue for you, just get better at the game.
ahhh apologies. i don't think that at all. nor do i have a problem with it. I also particularly dislike fortnight. I tend to over explain and use long winded examples. I was just curious why a lot of people get upset playing against SWF. I dont get it. Anyway this post will probably disappear into non existence. Sorry for being a bother

Personally Myers.....after starting with Pig then going to spirit tracking and stealth are just second nature. The play style just clicks for me.
-
I just copied and pasted my long comment i made on a similarish post with what i think about spirit. BunnytheHutt does have a good suggestion of QoL changes that would be more of a soft nerf. I dont think those would be too terrible IMO so up vote for that. and OP I agree lol
Personally Ive never had a problem playing against spirit and find that shes the most enjoyable for me to play against. I also used to main her before i found the joy know as Tier 3 Myers. I never play solo and always SWF. I'm the weakest looper and weakest in a chase of the group until we play spirit. I know not to loop. I run like a chicken with my head cut off yelling at my friends to get gens done faster and running a figure eight around some trees to hopefully get the two seconds i need to get to the nest pallet. I also know what shes probably gonna do and the timing for all of it. It makes me feel pretty good to dodge a strike from a spirit that bumped into me while phasing. I do mistime though. thats what health packs and team mates are for.
I don't run any of the mentioned counter perks. Hell I don't even run meta perks. I'm not even the best player and have bad eye sight. I still Personally I will say this again PERSONALLY don't see an issue with her. I will give you prayer beads even though I don't notice a difference when its used or not.
Maybe I haven't run into one of these unholy god like spirits that are running around destroying peoples souls. Maybe console players arent as good as pc. Ive played against terrible red ranked spirits and ones that I swear have GPS locating chips attached to me at brown ranks with the whole killer meta build. I guess it comes down to experience and how much you play against something. I personally get destroyed by leather face. mainly because i only played against him only 8 times. No one uses him on xbox for some reason sadly

Its been a competitive/multiplayer/fps game staple since crouching was possible I'm talking like system shock days. I don't see how people get worked up over it.

The two things that are effective for me are to first take advantage of altruism. If they are SWF and not super try hards they are going to get that unhook. Learn to take advantage of that. BBQ and Chili is a god send for this as you will know the general location of every one.
Secondly the 3 gen strat. Find the three closest together and easiest to patrol gens. Pay attention also to the areas around the gens. What are the survior routes? Any safe vaults/pallets? What are the Loops? Once you've done that try and control the map pressure to have all other gens done but these three. You still need to be putting people on hooks and going for kills. the balance is not easy to find to be honest and map awareness is key. Once that's done you can defend the gens a lot easier. Hopefully netting a 4k
general perks to use would be anything that slows the game or a location of survivors. BBQ, Hex: Ruin, Dying Light, and Surveillance being my preferred perks for these( I personally dont use them all at once). No One Escapes Death can give you that edge in the end game if they aren't clearing totems.
Hopefully this helps!
Now I'm not the best player here alot of people will probably give you better information and tips. I don't play trapper so i cant help there. Good luck and happy hunting.

Well first off ofcourse every tactic/strat in pvp isnt 100 reliable if that were the case pvp would be boring AF....
But here are some things that you can try while in chase.
manipulating- getting gud at manipulating in general for this game puts players on a whole other level of play and when going against a spirit you can do more... the drop of a pallet while shes phasing muffles your sound, so dropping pallets early and running away is always an option , most times she'll come out of phase and will be forced to chase at 110% for the duration of the cooldown, running to pallets and going through them but then next time dropping them early is a good way to stay unpredictable (which is essential when going against her)... running near pallets to make her thing you're going to it but really running to another loop is a good tactics, faking windows and going through them are both good tactics especially at ultra safe windows...
Most likely you're right, you'll comment back with the "spirit just needs headphones" remark which has been proven false vai players who have played her...
I agree with all this what helps me the most is actually knowing the general are shes in. I literally go looking for her when i know I'm playing against her. The only other thing I could suggest is actually play the spirit or any killer giving you problems for that matter. Once you have the "killer" mindset your survior game will improve significantly

Yeah, just imagine Spirit phasing through you and blocking pallets and windows with that no collision idea.
No thanks. I already can't stand one killer.
Right! I dont think people actually think about it all the way. Just thinking about it makes me want to rage quit and I'm at work right now π€£
-
@Mc_Harty said:
Changing the rarity of an add-on doesn't make the add-on less bullshit.
Why do people keep suggesting this thoughtless idea?
I think because they think it will work. I don't. I personally don't notice a difference while playing against spirit if they are using prayer beads or not. So i don't care either way take it, nerf it, or leave it. I was a Spirit main until i started using Myers. Never used prayer beads however.
The one thing I really can't stand hearing is the collision bit. Please don't remove it! The repercussions could result in Nurse 2.0 and no one wants that.
-
Personally i really like using surveillance, bbq, discordance or dying light, and unrelenting.
Yes i know noob build π but i have eye issues and im not the best at gauging distance this lets me know where people are and actually hit someone when I miss
-
It never bothered me but I play Myers now so when that happens i just pop tier 3 and laugh.
-
I don't think survivors can just loop. Well at least at my level of play.
I cant loop to save my in game life. I'm not bad at all imo i usually sit around purple rank on surv and killer. I get matched up with red ranks alot too and id say i do alright (win more then i loss on both side). I ALWAYS resort to stealth if able as surv. The longer a chase goes the more likely im gonna get hooked.
Now there are some good players out that can loop you forever but if you continue to pursue them thats on you imo.
FYI I have a bad eye so when i start running around and images start imposing on one another i tend to run into things. Its actually pretty funny in game and annoying in RL.
-
I'm playing on xbox as well and Ive actually been getting a bit of everything......Someone even played trapper which suprised me until he destroyed my group and I barely got away.
-
Tbagging and all that never bother me....but what does get me is Dwight......... Specifically a base skin Dwight with a map. Cant see it with out having flash backs when i was rank 19 get thrown into a game with red rank dwight and 3 purple ranks. Think i had 3 hours as killer ππ₯

I think the cosmetics were similar to Keanu's E3 clothing.
Doctor is definitely very fun. I've been playing him since September 2017. It can be harder to do good with him at high ranks unfortunately.
Freddy's pallets can be hard countered by SWF and Small Game, but they also rely on memory and map knowledge. SWF players can still make a mistake and Small Game could also detect a nearby totem instead of the Dream Pallet. They also are wasting time if they throw them down outside of a chase. If you're chasing a Survivor while slugging another one and someone else is dropping your pallets, then that's three Survivors not on a gen. You set them up quickly and are not slowed while doing so.
Ahhhh I see thanks for the explanation!!

I joined the forum about half an hour ago so I dunno how replying works or what the proper formalities are yet but I wanna thank you for the encouragement!
If this ISN'T remotely how replying works then sorry
I think I've been pretty lucky in my experiences thus far. No killers rubbing salt in the wound and no survivors saying I need to git gud, been an overall pleasant experience, even when utterly embarrassing myself in front of friends lol
Meh. Me neither I'm still new here too. Welcome to the forum!!! There are a ton of great people on here so just browse around you'll figure it out quick. Also dont be afraid to ask for help or tips. Again a lot of great people who are really helpful.
Thats great to hear you had a good experience so far my first game was against a pig who tbagged me on the down, hook, down again, dropped next to hook, and on the hook again. Got a GiTgUd message at the end.......twas hilarious as I find these reactions funny.

I like the Nurse 'cause she looks really creepy in a stereotypical ghost sense! She also has a really sad story. It reads like a proper campfire story, too.
I think I only ever got four kills as her once though... I'm not very good at Killer haha
Feng Min is my favourite Survivor, her default outfit, backstory and personality are cool and her perks fit my only redeemable skill (i.e.: repairing one or two gens before dying miserably lmao)
Nancy Wheeler is cool, too. Her perks are fun (idk if they're considered good by the playerbase though?) and I really enjoy Stranger Things so I just play her because she's a character I know already.
I've gotten one (1) kill as the Demogorgon but I play it for similar reasons.
Dont get discouraged! I was terrible at this game for like a month then it just clicked. Lets not even begin to go over how terrible i was. Killer survivor it didn't matter but once i found what felt i dunno right i guess i got a whole lot better and had way more fun. i still get clowned though not gonna lie.
I agree about Nurse but i think spirit is better imo. Nurse is hard to get down but once you do you will probably get ALOT of salt lol

Killers (not ordered):
- Doctor is very fun to play as and I love his power. His cosmetics are also badass.
- I love using Freddy's teleport to surprise Survivors. It's also really satisfying to trick Survivors with the Dream Pallets.
- I love using Demogorgon's power to control the gens and intercept Survivors. Using Shred is also very fun, I can't wait for 3.2.1 to come out so I can start breaking pallets with it. I also love the roar cooldown. Sometimes I'll find myself trying to imitate the Demogorgon's roar while playing.
Survivors (not ordered):
- Laurie because I'm a big Halloween fan.
- Jeff because his cosmetics can make him look like Keanu Reeves from E3.
- Adam because he has a cosmetic set that looks like Killmonger from Black Panther.
I only played a single game as doctor but i get the appeal. Driving people insane is great! Watching people run around freaking out is hilarious! On the survivor end however the frustration i experience is extreme. For the same reason im garbage in a chase the random place ment of skill checks just destroys me lol I cant hit them.
Freddy pallets are great but question. do SWF or the perk ummmmm i forget what its called but it notifys you of toems and traps i think counter this heavily?
I will now investigate these cosmetics and see if i could pretend to be Keanu for a bit
We talking the movie or the comics?

@oxygen said:
For survivors it'd be Ace or Kate, simply because I like how they look and some of their cosmetic options. Ace is also pretty quiet by default, which is nice. Special mention to Jeff for being pretty cool too.
For killers I find Huntress the most fun, but when it comes to the artsy side of things it'd be Demogorgon or Myers. I'm just a bit of a sucker for the unique sound design they've got going on, and they look good too. Spirit's almost up there too, very cool and well done design.
Myers is becoming my favorite killer. I used to main spirit but I get bored easy so I was alternating between pig and spirit. Now I' having a lot of fun as Myers. I like Ace's cosmetics as well.
The huntress' hum is frightening and I think a really nice touch.

Tbh I have an complete and utter hatred of Dwights. I got matched up in a game with 3 purple and a red rank Dwight when i first started playing killer. I was a baby spirit with no head phones no idea what i was doing and it was the asylum map......It was bad to say the least so Dwight hits the top of my tier list at sss for absolute hatred. followed by Nea, Laurie, Jane, Meg, and anything not standard Ace skin at A tier these usually give me the most work as killer. Bill at B alone(borrowed saves) and I suppose I would put everyone else at C as i dont really notice a difference in play or game impact from anyone running anything else.

Keep in mind that this was before the endgame collapse
I was crouching in a corner waiting for hatch to open only to have a billy overshoot his chainsaw not hit me but basically placed himself in the perfect distance to body block me unintentionally.
Unfortunately at the time I was injured without iron will and I was playing Min. So Mr Billy looked down and realised then he accidentally pinned me in a corner as hatch opened.
I proceeded to get a very good dose of Billy nodding then a revved chainsaw held in my face for a good 30 seconds before you finally down to me. Was then put on a hook and smack for good measure
That just sounds terrible. Billys right?

O man my group would have cried i can see it now lmao. That's devastating.

Agreed. I always felt ruin and NoED were crutches/training wheels anyways.
-
I tend to not run add-ons or I use the common ones as they accumulate. I dont play enough to get to the red ranks but i got paired with a red and 3 purple ranks last night on console. That was one of the most intense games ive played but i still got a 4k with 3 gens left in the end running common adds-ons. I always believed if you were skilled enough you could win at high ranks without add-ons if playing nurse, spirit, and some other killers. Was I wrong?
