  • I play on console and don't really see a whole lot of billy. Once every 15 games or so(probably more). I dealt with insta saw once and immediately realized my mistake when I got downed. I wasnt paying attention to where he was relative to my vault and mistimed the saw. While it is annoying to deal with insta saw, iri heads, prayer beads I've learned the majority of my downs(95%) aren't the game but mistakes I make.

  • The games as and against spirit are the most fun I have in this game.

Wow. A genuinely well thought camping post

I completely agree with what you said. Because I play Spirit, I've actually been accused of """"long distance camping"""" multiple times. It's crazy.

I agree definitely a well thought out post and i too have been accused of long distance camping as spirit. I didn't know it was a thing.

  • I personally have never run into anything I would consider too toxic.

Yeah okay that guy is flicking his flashlight and tbagging so he wants me to chase him. I do for about three seconds then phase walk(spirit), stealth/ambush(pig), or what have you the guy who is on the gen 10 ft away thinking I'm just gonna let this guy loop me. I get a message cause i upset the killer with loops or survivor cause i didn't fall for the 360 vault pallet combo. Its a right of passage and even if we tone down what others consider toxic the majority is just gonna carry on with what they do.

  • I've never seen anything to negative about looping. I always figured if i let myself get looped its my fault like how could i not recognize this guy/girl is leading me on a merry chase through the woods and crud those gens are getting done probably should do something about that but naw I really want this down.

I get how painful the looping is (yes I do it to when I'm playing survivor and have had it done to me as killer) but an exploit is by definition vague. Yeah sure looping is an exploit but many things by that definition could be considered such. This is just part of the game and I don't feel looping should be removed maybe tweak the three loops that were mentioned earlier(I don't remember which)

  • I see alot of those posts myself. I think i read through the forums for a month before i finally(recently) created an account and made a post. Mainly cause i just didn't want to be another please nerf this please fix that guy or complain about getting destroyed by insta saw billy, blink nurse, spirit. I just skip them. I will read to see if they have a point. Some times they do and the explanations are pretty good. I agree with GrootDude though and think its just people having a bad game and needing to vent. I just reccomend people play the killer they say is broken to actually learn how to beat them. I had one of the best games ever over the week end against a spirit who did awesome(i'm a spirit main i guess). my three friends though were really salty. They wouldn't listen to me so they died.

Survivor: Head on and quick and quiet are very fun to use. You can be a locker warrior! >:D

Killer: Agitation, iron Grasp, Mad Grit, and a perk of your choice. Keep a survivor on your shoulder and chase others.

Tried the locker warrior bit! when I could do it it was clutch a few times. One particular nurse was VERY upset. Had a blast!

There are perks that counter her power

if your at a loop and you know that she is using her power or think she is, don't stay at the loop, go to another nearby one

https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Rin_Yamaoka read her power for that collision

passive phasing is there to help her confused the survivors more then it being used to mindgame, and its called PASSIVE for a reason, your not really suppose to have full control of it

Sooooooo you want her to be weak as wraith? and remember, its only her addons that change that, but you barely see anyone use those addons, and her base speed when she comes out of her power is not insane at all

prayer beads eh it still have a counter to one thing and when being chased? its no different

My main point is that her power is greatly in her hands, not in the survivors hands cough Ghost face and plague cough and its for the survivors to do their best to work around it and counter it

I was literally going to say the same things here.....Thank you!

I'm just going to copy what I said in a different thread a while back:

My problem with the spirit is the lack of mindgames. You heard me right, there are no mindgames on the survivor side playing against spirit.

    1. You can't know where she's coming from. Hearing footsteps is near impossible if you're working on a gen or you're running or even just injured.
    2. If you know she's phasing and you try to trick her by double backing, she'll just run into you because she has collision for whatever reason.
    3. As I said, no mindgames really. It's just a guessing game. Say she's chasing you and you vault a window and she walks up to it. She could be vaulting it, phasing or standing still and there is no way to know which she is doing. Also, she can hear your sounds way too easily and can just phase right on you, so you basically need to use a window or a pallet every time, but because the spirit knows this she will go for those specific things. Going for a pallet is a 50/50 and you can rarely make it to a window. (and she might even cut you off)
    4. Passive phasing. Even looping turns into a guessing game instead of a mindgame. When you're looping her and her stain suddenly disappears you can't know if she just turned around to double back, or if she just got passive phasing. This is even more dumb because of the fact that she doesn't know when she is passively phasing so she can't use it to her advantage purposefully
    5. With everything mentioned above, her speed after phasing is pretty insane especially with addons. This makes it so that even if you managed to make her think you went somewhere else she will almost always catch up to you regardless.
    6. Prayer beads.

Those are my main problems with the spirit. Now I don't want her overly nerfed, but I want the devs to introduce some sort of a way to tell what the spirit is doing, that way surviving is not just rolling the die and hoping that you get lucky, but an actual representation of skill.

    1. Agreed i think she needs a thing like Wraith like when hes invisible
    2. Its more effective after breaking line of site or not going strait back. I think that's more of a situational awareness thing then anything else IMO.
    3. I disagree i feel survivors mind game themselves. I even have done it and i play spirit. The passive phasing is RNG based without additional addons to make it more frequent(correct me if Im wrong)
    4. I didnt know her stain disappeared while passive phasing(Does it really?) it does during regular phasing though.
    5. She does move pretty quick but is not something that she can spam and still takes a bit of skill to pull off. Its not a guaranteed thing that she's going to find you just because she's fast.
    6. i think this is overrated as you need the right perks to make it great instead of just helpful. again IMO I'm probably just bad at the game.
  • Okay I've read through this thread and I'm trying to figure this out. I started using spirit about lets say 3 weeks ago and gotten ok with her i think. (killer rank 10 prior to recent reset) Now I'm new and am probably ignorant but i don't see the need for any nerf(YET). I've used prayer beads and didn't see much of a difference in game out come(the first time used i actually got destroyed). I didn't feel super op or anything. I can however see how it would seem so if you had other killer perks so are we just talking high tier play here? I know scooping someone off a gen when they thought you were chasing someone makes people fairly salty.....

If you don't mind spending a few extra bucks, Myers is a super diverse killer to play. There are so many perks he synergises so well with and in so many different ways, as well as all of his add-ons can drastically change as he plays completely as well. The combination of them both makes him an incredibly diverse killer and generally fun killer (look up Jump Scare Myers, as an example).

You also get Laurie too, which Decisive Strike and Object of Obsession can be both fun and useful as a survivor. Sole Survivor is meh, though.

I dont mind spending the money. I thoughly enjoy the game on both sides and have already bought Pig and (i know dont say it) Spirit. Myers was actually my next choice i was just unsure.

  • Ahhhh i heard about that but didnt know it would be so soon. Now maybe I won't hear the I can't level up DS complaints i hear from my friends (I dont run DS). Also less grinding is always a plus in my book!

  • I watched a friend of mine do the killer bit as legion once......I've never seen a group of people panic so hard trying to block the hook lol!!!

I will probably try the survivor bit tonight if able. I got a lot of leveling to do for that.
