Title says it all. Why is it allowed? Why is it even a strategy? (albeit not a good one). If the killer hooks you and proceeds to just stand there waiting for all eternity until you die, you're both just stuck there not playing the game at all. Sure the survivors can just rush the gens and get a free escape, but I really doubt the guy on the hook and the killer are both having fun with this play style. People bought the game to play an actual game and not sit there looking at their phones for 2 minutes

Edit: This post is calling out EARLY GAME CAMPING, not late game. It's understandable to everyone that the killer too needs his kills and punishes those that try to be brave and rescue. The hooked survivor earned their points, the killer has earned his points, everyone walks away with something gained. But when the killer hooks you early game and just sit there, it's a guaranteed depip. No chances to get chased, no chances to get creative, nothing.

Why is decisive allowed? A broken perk that force a result and rewards even the worst players for being caught. Tunneling and camping were real even before decisive, but behaviour made them stronger with ds. Sorry but you'll get camped, not one, not two, but a lot of times due to this game balance. If you play clown or doc maybe on a big map and surv genrush you have no other choice. Mix chase time, hooks, decisive, possible unbreakable, torches and toolboxes and the killer doesn't literally have time. This game is survivor sided and it's time to stop crying about tunneling and camping. I play both sides and I know that killers do what they have to, without complaining as survivor.

Please read in full translate in your language. Notice: I am 100% sure that all of us who are old players in this dead by Daylight game will agree with me because they know how things were before, new players if they are going to criticize, inform yourself first. Dead by Daylight in times of 2017 was a great game, it was perfect both in killer and in survivor compared to how it is now. They are going to take away the essence of the game. Look at the doctor, the nurse, the ruin and a lot of perks that have ######### over time (DESICIVE STRIKE) as well as mechanics. What I want with this is that all the players of this game reconsider and support me as the developers continue the game is going to end up dying what they have done lately has been a disaster I was dissatisfied with this game since the nerf of Desicive strike in 2019 was not something necessary before criticizing me in this part I have my argument please read before criticizing we all deserve to be heard Desicive strike perk teachable by Laurie strode at level 40 since it came out it has been a very criticized and requested perk by nerf..ok I understand At this point, this will frustrate several killers, because if the team had all 4 players wearing this perk, it would take a long time to understand that point, but was it necessary to render it unusable? Let's think please they are telling me that to occupy it, the killer has to hang up first after I get off the hook, I have 60 seconds of use, which is literally unusable, I heal and almost all the timing has expired, it is true that sometimes it saves you but how rare it is what happens almost never besides now it is so easy to counteract after picking up the killer will go for you and leave you on the ground wait 60 seconds and hang again before having done this destruction that they made this perk so much that they complained about the stun would have reduced it at least but from the beginning it is active or if they wanted it not to start active they could do that ######### mechanic of hanging you first and then they would unload you this active without time so it would be balanced and it would always be used not as they did now this would be all my opinion about the game currently that if they continue as they are now they will die slowly and believe me they will regret later .. Thanks for reading and I hope I come to you and take into account my request

I don't waste my time reading this. Decisive must be nerfed. Survivors are carried by it. You literally suck at the game? No problem, here's your minute of immortality. Bad players shouldn't be rewarded and good players should be rewarded but without the possibility of using it in lockers. You should somehow fill the ds bar to activate it. I don't have an actual idea, but this perk is just wrong.

    (sry for clickbait title)

Chases are the problem. it's way to easy to chain together different loops and tiles with pallets on some maps, everyone with some hundred hours of experience can do this. Nearly everyone is running SB, DH or Lithe which adds to it. If the rest of the team is prioritizing gens it's very hard to get into the match as killer. That's why killers with chase and anti-loop powers like Spirit, Deathslinger and PH are so popular and hated by survivors (see all those threads). The missing map pressure (because of slow walking speed) is not that huge of a drawback compared to the faster downing speed.

Of course you should drop chases early but if all survivors are aware and able to run to the nearest loop, it's hard to stop those gens. Add second chance and exhaustion perks to the equation and you have it.

Increasing gen times only makes playing survivor more M1-holding and skillchecking. I don't think that's a good solution.

Then add ds and unbreakable and you are all set...

Most of us who play this game play as survivors most of the time. We enjoy this game when it’s fair and we don’t have to play against impossible to beat killers. In my opinion, I think these people who are impossible to beat killers have become this way because A) First and foremost they don’t do anything with their life, other than play this game every waking moment of their day. And B)The devs are doing things with this game which make them virtually unstoppable (if not completely unstoppable.)

Just watch each game you are playing and notice how many times killers kill every survivor in the game. You will notice that in the VAST MAJORITY of these games, the killers win outright and not even one survivor escapes. And on top of that, the devs have now made it to where we as survivors cannot even see the auras of other hooked survivors???!!!

Guys, it’s time for us to quit. If DBD is gonna do this and make it so unbelievably unfair for the majority of us trying to playing this game then it’s time to walk away and do something else. If DBD wants us back then it’s gonna have to be on THEM to make some real changes to balance the game to bring us back.

Survivor side has Always been super super easy and you always had advantages against killer (you still have). Now they're finally trying to nerf survivors instead of destroying killer side and you all start crying because now you actually have to be a bit good, instead of being constatly carried by decisive, infinite loops, mountains of pallets and all the meta perks.

  • @Auron471 said:

If the killer misses a swing, they lose all bloodlust.

Ok,then nerf haddonfield and all the maps full of pallets as well

  • @HeyAssButt said:

So this isn’t a thread to complain about NOED as I personally don’t see the issue with it, I just have a question. Recently I’ve faced a Michael, Ghostface and Billy who were all rank 1 that had NOED. Which confused me a little. Why would a killer that has the ability to one-hit down a survivor want to use NOED? Is that not a waste of a perk slot? I just want to know if anybody here runs NOED on any of these killers as I’m honestly baffled as to why.

I used to use it on bubba cause they didn't expect that.

  • @Sunbreaker7 said:

BROKEN. Let me repeat that slowly so you catch that, Brooo-ooooo-keee-eeen.

    The new Leatherface can now:

    • Pallet loop without fear or effort with 3 full charges and even catch the looper on the first loop if they dont drop the pallet. So there is no real looping against leatherface now.
    • Leatherface can easily chase down anyone in open field while way behind and still catch the survivor by the end of the third charge of the chainsaw. You are pretty much dead if nowhere near a pallet or window, don't even try to spin dodge or do any fancy moves, leatherface got fuel in the chainsaw to still hit you even after many misses.
    • LeatherFace's infinite hook face camp zero chance rescue is still very much present.
    • Leatherface can chainsaw his way from basement all the way out of the shack and even to the other side of the outer window of the shack with 3 full charges, so good luck getting out of the basement even if you raid it with 3 other survivors. Again, leatherface got fuel to down the whole team in one go.
    • Leatherface can strike a borrowed time survivor with the chainsaw and catch them with the same sweep, rendering borrow time completely useless against this killer.

LeatherFace has rised from low tier to top tier in a single patch and he far outperforms any other killer in the game now, period. I am a main Leatherface player, I have played this killer the most out of all and still continue to do so. Despite being absolutely broken and having extremely fun playing him in this broken state, laughing how easy it is to down survivors now, even I can't put up with this disgust with a straight face and hope it to stay untouched.

Is this the change we wanted for him? I have to seriously put effort to lose a game on purpose when playing him now. Don't get me wrong, it's freaking fun to play the new Leatherface, I think the new reworked power is a step to the right direction in his design, but it's absolutely op, especially with addons.

I love that I no longer can accidently end my chainsaw charge prematurely in 99%, that was the best change about him. I also love that I can extend my sweep time if needed, no longer having to be 100% skin contact distance from the survivor in order to hope to down them with the chainsaw. It was something that made playing Leatherface a big chore as many could simply outrun him to a window or pallet, thus restarting the whole chase to 100% skin contact all over again. It was a big waste of time, so glad to see there is now new power to extend the sweep time when needed. However, the amount of time the leatherface can sweep is just redicilous, not to mention how fast he goes while sweeping.

Surprised that he went from ######### tier to high tier? What about freddy? Do you remember? But no one complains about him, about how he's super easy to play, strong and annoying to go against. You just have to learn how to counter the new bubba. This time behaviour is doing something good trying to nerf loops, we need more anti-loop killers. For one time they actually nerf survivor side instead of destroying killers.

I mean there's so many things here that I can pick apart but this is really the cherry on top, glad you saved it for last

"16)Mori changes: yellow mori, you can kill the last survivor. green mori, you can kill one survivor if he's been hooked. Red mori, you can kill one survivor whenever you want."

    LMFAO

    Let's hear your suggestions

  • @stikyard said:

BBQ is in the minds of every survivor, every game, whether the killer has it or not.

I don't mind the perk in theory but I would suggest a change.

Instead of secretly revealing survivors for a few seconds, have it make the survivors scream, like doctor. This gives the killer locations and disrupts any action the survivors were taking. It also lets the survivors know they have to deal with BBQ. The tiers could simply increase the range of effect and, can be countered by Calm Spirit, (A underused perk, everyone wishes they had during a Doctor match.)

Nothing quite ruins immersion like the killer knowing exactly where you are.

    Are you serious? Lol.

  • @BaldursGate2 said:

Play on Ormond with Clown or Freddy. Freddy downs the survivor on the south right corner and hooks him and with BBQ, sees on the north left corner in the killer shack is someone working on a gen. Impossible to go there with clown in time and use your pop on the gen, with freddy you just teleport and save the gen.

And that thing applies to 80% of killers, that can not save such a gen in time. You are forced to do the 3-gen-strat in every game if you want to have a chance.

    Bad balancing.

Exactly, I'm with you. Now read what you wrote and read what survivor mains write. See the mindset difference😂🤦. Playing killer really opens your eyes.

Dude please never talk about streamers. They're there to make content not to hyper focus. Play the game and actually experience it. They still got a 4k probably cause they increased pressure. Gens are fine just get better or play a really good killer for newbies that applies a lot of pressure like The Legion.

I saw the game, not you. They did 4 gens then started going around, probably to farm chase points. But something went wrong.

  • @EmpireWinner said:

    Apply more pressure

    Said the surv main 🤦

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Same as Dude above. How many instant downs? Did they heal up? How many hooks total? How long were your chases? Did you use a Mori and if so, after which hooks?

There is more than just "I got kills, praise me".

But chases lenght is no sense. The game should reward me for a short chase, not a long chase, because that means that I'm good. Or not?

  • @Dreamnomad said:

The emblem system is dumb. The old victory cube was way better. With all that said, if you got 3 kills and still got entity displeased there are reasons for it. This usually happens when the game snowballs very quickly which usually happens when the killer is doing something cheesy like ebony mori, basement shenanigans, NOED, etc. Usually this happens in conjunction with overly altruistic survivors or survivors going disconnect. Also, the higher the rank you are as a killer the more demanding the game becomes and easier it is to see this.

I'm rank 2, but I personally think that with 3 kills it should be at least brutal killer. Unless you kill 3 people with one hook mori. Even if they disconnect, I can't do anything against that so you can't punish me.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

TUNNELING ISN'T NECESSARY AS I'VE PROVEN BY KILLING AT RED RANKS WITHOUT DOING SO.

FEEL FREE TO ASK @2ndBusiestmusicnerd OR @Respectfulnancymain BECAUSE THEY'VE BOTH SEEN ME PLAY.

    WHY ARE WE YELLING??!

Edit: I stg I've tried to fix the same typo three times now.

Sure if you face survivors who genrush bad or don't genrush at all. A problem is m1 killers as well. Maybe if you are playing freddy or billy you have a chance, but what if you are playing doc or bubba? (Which is a m2 killer , but he's really uneffective right now due to his low chainsaw speed)

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You don't wanna argue yet you come with one of the hottest topics on the forums?

Reason not to tunnel? Here i'll give you one:

    • TO WIN THE MATCH

If survivors genrush and you don't tunnel you lose, this is the reality.

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1466836#Comment_1466836

You definitely do have a point. As space coconut said, I think they are pushing for fast chases rather than map control.

I think they are trying to give killers time to do something, so making chases faster you can have more gen control and not be forced to tunnel and camp just because of gens speed.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

If pre-throwing pallets becomes the meta then, and I can't believe I'm saying this, maps need more pallets.

If stealth becomes meta, it needs a hell of a buff.

I don't think adding pallets would make much sense considering that they are nerfing loops probably to give killers some time to do things.

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

Recently, we have been getting power reworks or killers that have amazing anti loop potential, that makes looping irrelevant. We had oni, where in his power, he denies almost every loop besides shorter loops and long walls. After Oni we had the gunslinger, who can shoot over most tiles and can reel survivors in, if he can see them. We got pyramid head after gunslinger, who can shoot through walls and deny loops entirely. Now, we have new Bubba, who has amazing anti loop potential, without denying loops. I think the devs are trying to push for less looping in the game. With powers like this, I think looping will be non meta, and instead pre throwing pallets will be the meta. Just my opinion though.

First of all I have to say that I agree with what they're trying to do. Even if loops aren't the main problem for killer right now it's one of them. Anyways you mentioned oni, who is an m1 killer until he gets his power, then you said gunslinger, ph and bubba but don't forget that these killers have zero map control and you can genrush them like hell.

  • @ProveKa said:

All your suggestions are beyond terrible. You think the game unilaterally and these are the thoughts you gave to ruin the game

I don't have real suggestions, but I think devs should do something about keys, that's it. Those are just stupid examples.

  • @SwampViking said:

    Keys are fine.

    • Like CertArn said, the key is useless until the end of the game, except for a few addons
    • They actually have to survive the match
    • If they "dont do anything" like OP says, then they'll depip for not actually involving themselves risking loss of the key
    • Killers get to see items before the match starts, so you have the added benefit. You can use Franklin's Demise

They depip but if 2 people escape I can depip too. The most annoying thing is that they hide all game, most of the times holdint it hostage, and get the hatch at the end. It's annoying and boring to go against.

  • @NotOprah said:

Okay. How do you propose they change? I only ask because people say this all the time but often have no idea on where to take them.

Someone has a pretty fair suggestion here, just scroll

  • @Yogerman1997 said:

    well..

i gonna copypaste my rework suggestion again...

    Key Changes:

    • Hatch only spawn when 1 survivor left, and when the doors are powered.
    • Delete Broken Key spawn chance from chest and Bloodweb.
    • After use a Dull or Skeleton key, instead of disappear, become into a Broken one.

    Moris Changes:

    • Cypress Mori (Allow to kill the last survivor, When the doors are powered allow to kill survivors you hooked atleast 2 times.)
    • Ivory Mori (Allow to kill the last survivor, When the doors are powered allow to kill survivors you hooked atleast 1 time.)
    • Ebony Mori (Allow to kill the last survivor, When the doors are powered allow to kill any survivor, no hooks needed.)

Well, I mean... Why not, seems fair. Mori would be pretty useless, but keys would be useless as well so it's good in my opinion

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Keys are still way more balanced than moris, so your comparison is unreasonable.

Never said moris are balanced, but at least with mori I have to hook first, I have to do something. If you use key you can just sit and wait for the hatch to spawn and maybe giving it to someone else as well. It's just unfair

  • @BaroneMaximus said:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi6P7Jxf6AM

Ok, this is what i believe being the best player in this game and i don't base my judgement on the skill (even tho he is pretty skill) But i judge his skill on knowledge and fairness. Basically: He plays fair, he always tries to 12 hook and he never play lame unless he has too, This is exactly me EVERY game. But the outcome is: You get gen rushed and you get mocked for it :\

I believe that the only way to play this game should be the way to make the match fun for both sides and i say this because i play both sides so i know what playing lame both sides mean... But playing fair is NOT rewarding because the outcome is always the same: Gens goes fast and you have no way to match the unfairness of maps (See the pallet at the bathroom right in front of a jungle gym)

Now, anyone else believes that this game should be much more fair/fun and rewarding or it's just me? Because i don't think that escaping or 4king should be important things, not for me, but having challenges and enjoying the game should.

No one will change my mind until devs will do something concrete about this: this game is survivor sided. Yes, it is. With genrushing, op meta perks, unfair maps and swf some games are just impossible, unless you tunnel or camp. Killers shouldn't be forced to do this, i think they need more time, because now there's very little.

  • @th3 said:

If you disagree with me you are bad.

Great argument by the original poster lmao. Perhaps there already have been nerfs and you need to get better instead of having things simplified for you.

Do you even play killer? Anyways, I don't want to argue, but the reality is that survivor side is too easy and requires way less skill than killer.

  • @IMhereRUN said:

Rarely do I encounter a serious gen rush. The fastest I have recorded is 4:28, this was only a few weeks ago.

Edit: I mentioned the when of the occurence because it’s important to me that you all understand it was after the update a month or 2 ago that slightly nerfed gen speeds.

Like I said, I rarely encounter this and thus I’m not too concerned about it.

    You're really really lucky then

  • @xEa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/171411/time-to-nerf-gens

Hello i dont agree at all and i am playing killer for almost 2000 hours now on red rank. Dont be biased please.

Harder skillcheck wont help at all. It would only be harder for lower ranks, where killer already dominate. A rank 1 will hit his skillchecks no matter how hard they are.

The only killer that got nerfed so far is Nurse and Spirit and those nerfs were totally needed. Others got buffed in return.

Please dont forget that the past 1,5 years survivors got nerfed way more then killers. Just look at toolboxes, less pallets on maps, smaller maps ect ect.

I don't have an actual idea to nerf gens, I was just making an example. Anyways, the problem with this game is that killer nerfs destroy them most of the times and survivor nerfs are irrilevant, just because most of the people are surv mains who don't even know what playing killer is Like.

  • @Deathslinger said:

As suggested, too many variables to ever ever ever get a “good gen speed”. Whatever you do to compensate for red rank skill/experience will crush the lower ranked survivors.

If anything, you should add a difficult but rewarding secondary objective. Then red ranks could challenge themselves while possibly profit and lower ranks could ignore it and concentrate on escaping.

I think that would be good, but remember that most of the times you find tryharders at red ranks and I don't think that making secondary objectives would really solve the problem

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Rank 1 Killer here and I think Gen Speed is fine.

Harder Skill Checks (which is your only "idea" you bring up) wont matter, those would only be a problem for low Rank Survivors, but not for High Ranks, where Killers actually might have a hard time.

And yeah, lets forget all the Nerfs Survivors have gotten...

I don't have a real idea actually but hey I'm not the developper here. Just saying that in my opinion survivors should have something more to do. I think it's just too easy compared to killer

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

You say that final statement like survivors haven't been (rightfully) nerfed.

I agree that gen times are hardly amazing right now, and the trial warmup the devs were on about in their anniversary stream can't come soon enough, but games aren't impossible unless it's literally a death squad at which point your best bet is to actually facecamp lol. But how often do you see those types of teams?

Pretty often, but how can I blame them? Their work is to do gens and so they do. I blame behaviour for making such an unbalanced game where survivor is hella easy and killer is often frustrating

  • @Dwinchester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1432010#Comment_1432010

No, he's absolutely right, you don't have the time to not camp, not tunnel, and not slug. That's the problem with this game, you can't counter both the gen rush and the meta, because the meta is designed to counter the only counter you have to the gen rush. One hook mori is the only reliable way to beat a death squad.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1432018#Comment_1432018

The problem is the level of nerf. Yeah, they nerfed balanced, Insta heals, tool boxes, but nothing really changed how survivors play.

When they nerf killer, they gut them. Take ruin, it was an early game slowdown that might be cleansed fast. They changed it to a late game pressure perk that can still be cleansed fast. If old ruin lasted two minutes, you had value, if it's cleansed in two minutes now, totally wasted.

Nurse, they gutted her mobility, so it takes twice as long to cross the map. Billy is losing his mindgame, which is all he had.

    You understand everything my friend.

  • @Artick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/170845/behaviours-buffs-nerfs

Dude I'm so sick of "they never nerf survivors". Killer mains have such a selective memory, they only remember what they want to remember. Take all the patchnotes and see for yourself how many nerfs survivors got along the years. Just stop with this BS argument already.

As I answered to another guy, this game is survivor sided and surv nerfs are really small compared to killers. More people play survivor so behaviour listen to them, noobs for the most part, crying for op killers but they don't do anything concrete to nerf survivors

  • @TheHentity said:

Problem is here that people just want everything right away when funny enough it is shown RIGHT NOW that testing too much is bad.

Current PTB they are testing Bubba and Hillbilly AND the 60-tick servers which are in limited supply currently making people have super high ping making all testing on bubba and hillbilly invalid, hence the servers are now tested later.

Its just that people always want things to be more balanced but when X is looked at they start asking about Y.

WE CANT AND SHOULD NOT DO EVERYTHING AT ONCE.

Bubba was long on the list for a looking at and many of the community agree with that and BHVR just found it appropriate or time to look at his fellow chainsaw brother while they were at it.

Mories, Keys, Freddy, Spirit, DS, No Mither, map design, graphics, you name it, all will have some look at in the future at some point, just not right now.

If they're really nerfing survivors, they're doing a really bad job, seriously. This game is survivor sided as hell.

  • @I_am_Negan said:

    DS don't tunnel

    It's not that simple

  • @EpicBigBrain said:

You do realise bt and ds are in the game to soothe tunneling right....

Yes, they are really really strong perks. Lots of people escape just for meta perks. They have lots of possibilities and still complain about tunneling instead of getting better.

  • @RizeAki said:

Ok so I think the two new changes are a step in the right direction with hiding cages and preventing cages being just plain camped. I do have one issue though. The cages always spawn across from the killer so they can still be walked over to and get the survivor tunneled. My idea for a fix to this is another small change to making the cage spawn completely random around the map so it’s not just straight ahead. What is your guy’s thoughts?

Edit: This was all mostly to maybe hinder tunneling players. For those that don’t tunnel like myself and others it would hurt making survivors sometimes not have to go across map to get a cage rescue. Main point was that cages are still very predictable and have a way to still be tunneled which is no fun for anyone but at the same time I don’t want them making the killer unfun with no information. So more or less take this post with a grain of salt as it’s not a perfect change idea as I am in no means a game balance designer.

Nah, pyramid didn't need a nerf before and he doesn't need it now. I personally think that surv mains cry too much sometimes just because they can't play against a killer
