  • Steam forums are a cesspit, be thankful you cant be tempted to go there anymore. Im also banned there for nothing lol. Yet people can go full toxicity and remain unbanned. The moderation on certain forums is awful.

  • This event is truly the biggest pile of pure and utter garbage ive ever played in all my 28 years of gaming. They literally took all the worst parts of the game, all of the uninteractive parts of the game and multiplied it by a thousand and gave it to survivors to use freely with zero restrictions on their own loadouts.

And its only going to get worse…

I think, as usual, it’s very killer dependent. I just had a Ghoul who was using the portals and his ability to basically poison the altars and patrol gens endlessly. We got one gen done and he got a 4k. We did get a fair few complete tables though so maybe we would have done better if everyone was on gens but it goes to show how much time the event wasted from the main objective which is an advantage for killers.

if no one is on gens and people are dying like flies then yeah because you have no gen pressure, but a table can also completely remove the killers pressure by healing THE ENTIRE TEAM and extending their crucial chases.

You have to strike a balance between event objectives and gens just like killer does if they want to stop you taking advantage of it.

  • I play either locker build dracula or just play chase singularity and mindlessly aggressive chase instead of playing the macro game.

I am especially curious as to what BHVR’s thinking was. Someone mentioned it was to prevent “hoarding a thousand offerings from the anniversary,” but is raising the rarity from lowest to second highest the solution to that? Is it a problem that needs a solution to begin with? The character you get the offerings on you’re forced to play to use the offerings, they aren’t interchangeable. If you manage to play the game enough during the anniversary, don’t you deserve the thousand offerings? It’s the most hype time of the year for the game in terms of new content. Perhaps they thought making players need more playtime to get the offerings would make them play more. But it’s likely the inverse, players will be discouraged to grind, the rewards aren’t worth it.

Theoretically, they could’ve just made the rarity uncommon instead of common across the board for anniversary items and the backlash would’ve been maybe a tenth of what they’re receiving now. But I’m of the shared opinion that no change was needed at all. Survivors can get commodious toolboxes frequently if they manually use their bloodweb anyway, and killers will just bring puddings instead of anniversary cakes since there’s no difference on their end. Killers don’t play with anyone else in the lobby, why should they care if the rest of the players get an extra 100 percent? This update guts at least half of the enjoyment found in the anniversary celebration.

Yeah i always brought cakes even if i dont get any extra benefit so everyone else gets more BP. Getting virtually no cakes in comparison means im not going to bring them as they are more scarce so its 4/5 players in the lobby that lose out not killers.

Just wanted to be clear that we are investigating bloodweb and Event Currency issues reported. Bloodweb errors may be resolved already.

The cake rarity change is just an intentional (and frankly malicious at this point) change to make our experience and rewards worse for no real reason.

  • nah im not playing at all, its not worth it, the game has only been getting worse and worse. Trash event and just insulting to players for a celebratrion. It's just giving them bad PR and ill will for whatever petty and pathetic reason they keep making intentional, awful choices like this.

Closer and closer to just uninstalling and never supporting this company ever again.

  • Worst event and worst anniversary ever! Such a great celebration! We all get less. It's just insulting at this point, its worse every year.

I really hope bhvr does something with it and do it quickly.

I decided to turn off the game for now. I don't want to spend 15m BP and get 50 cakes.

Yep same, dont care about playing the game when its like this. What the point?

All hype for the game and event is just gone, completely.

they want you to grind more bc it’s better for engagement and looks better for analytics, they don’t care about you

This just makes me not want to play lol why care about events when they are garbage? Why care about the game when its worth less playing? And my playtime has been getting less and less over the last year with their constant awful choices.

Fake boosted engagement statistics are worthless when it garners ill will towards them. But corpos fail to realise this over and over.

  • @vol4r said:

This can't be intended, right? This is much less then what we had before.

It cant be anything but intentional sadly

The problem lies here. They made the cakes purple rarity, while normally, event cakes should be common (brown)

This is a normal event offering.

This is generally awful, maybe even malicious, every year they are nerfed. Whats the point.

  • The only people against a DC penalty system are the type of people who'd make the game miserable without it by proving why we need it. History has long proven why its needed, in this game and many others.

There's already enough rage quitting with the system in place as it is. If anything the first "free dc" shouldnt exist and you should take a time out from the first one as it allows too many games to be ruined by a single individual quitter without consequence.

  • @cogsturning said:

The solution is to not play it. Let the endless Jasons wait in their endless queue.

The event sounds like its going to be god awful for killers anyway so i think queues will be quick when people realise survivor is probably the event queue power role with those absurd sounding benefits. On paper i don't see why i'd play killer in the event ever. Will probably just play normal 1v4.

  • Or we could not screw with matchmaking, which is fundamentally a bad idea in general. It's not needed normally (if you want more push for killer variety we can buff half the roster thanks), and it would destroy matchmaking during new releases.

You'd just be extending matching times for alot of people, most likely killers but also survivors, so a few people can try to cherry pick games. You're also likely to force the game to make a significantly higher mismatch of players finding said games for a worse experience overall.

  • I think his new one looks fine

  • I mean those add ons aren't very good, theres almost always a better one to take that will give you more value

The best way to balance exahustion is to remove any and all effects that positively alter the recovery timers and adjust that based on the ease of use and value of the perk. Sprint burst and lithe being the most obvious two should have longer timers, and the ones with downsides, randomness or significant requirements (like drama, smash hit etc) should have less.

    Also delete and rework vigil.

Then we can decide whether these kinds of addon are needed or even need adjusting or are worth using afterwards but keep the option there.

I honestly had the most fun in this game the bugfix patch after springtraps release. I think this was possibly the most balanced its been in a bit. New killer, no pallet density, 10 second BT for killers. The survivors still had haddonfield, hyperfocus stakeout, syptics and syringes. While yes there were op things for both sides I didn't find myself struggling to get wins on either side. Or having boring gameplay loops

It's crazy the game somehow feels even worse than before.. unless you mostly play survivor of course. Game is a more boring mess than it was even last year. Like you said atleast both sides were enjoyable.

  • I have an irrational hatred of hag purely because of how her traps mess with your camera, it triggers me for some reason, i hate it.

  • Survivor has good perk variety, in comparison killer perk variety is in the gutter. All this would be is a game mode where the killers most needed perks are unavailable while survivors still get alot of options to make the game easier for them. Terrible idea, no killers would be playing this.

This isn't a team based hero shooter, we dont need bans.

  • After his back to back nerfs he's perfectly manageable now. Often it is survivors putting themselves in poor open positions where he thrives against him that is the real problem.

  • It would be easier to nerf, and preferably rework (and it should be) vigil than balance all other perks around it's existence.

God knows why a perk get to passively buff/nerf so much all at once for free.
