I appreciate the clarification because the updates on this were unclear & I haven't played it myself.

Also though just to add since this post I have just finished yet another Freddy game in which a player quit due to immediately being tunneled. The healing at hook is what's doing it & I hate that it's working especially in this way that as I said is promoting them to tunnel, hence why the player quit. I would too I'll be honest it's not fair, it's not fun.

I really am anti-tunnel I don't feel we should be forced to run certain perks or just "get gud" to play this game. But that's everyone else's stance on it. Despite how miserable the experience is just getting tunneled all the time or having players be tunneled out every game. I agree it really goes need addressing, has done for a while & yet probably never will. It's such a shame, I think I'm done with this game. Thank you & ######### you BHVR, for never addressing this crap.

You just have to wake up, which is the easiest thing in the game and you have 3 ways to do it and he can no longer teleport to you.

  • @Bookern said:

The fact they nerfed his snares and not the actual problems like Tping to slugs is insane. Dream pallets are still useless since they grow bright red

They also nerfed that, now waking up your partner has priority before healing.

  • The new Freddy is still weak, the traps are okay but nothing spectacular, the fake paddles are useless and teleporting to a healing survivor is also useless because the survis have the option to wake up while one of the healers is awake and there are 3 ways out of sleep and then the clocks are very strong, 30 seconds of immunity is a lot.

I agree - it's just the one thing that I'm dubious of. But I guess it wouldn't be much stronger than other anti healing builds, and not healing is always an option so it's not very problematic. Plus waking up at any alarm clock helps, but at the cost of time.

So in the case of an anti heal build freddy, I like that the survivor then has 3+ options to choose from (not healing at risk of going down more easily, waking up at cost of taking longer to heal, or healing in the dream world at the risk of freddy interrupting). Giving options usually leads to more rewarding plays and therefore can be more fun

But if it proves strong enough that all Freddy mains run either anti healing, or the typical gen regression stacking build, it could become not fun very quickly.

maybe the tp is very situational

And skull merchant wasn't very high tier before she was nerfed recently, and legions not high tier - but they were/are common choices for least fun to play against. It's not just about strength but about game mechanics that are fun for both sides.

Otherwise no one would play anyone but high tier killers. My personal favorite killers to play are mostly mid to low tier

    the Freddy rework is fun

  • @ThMnWthNVwls said:

I was also concerned about the killer instinct on healing - with being able to teleport every 30 seconds and with perks for slowing down heal speeds, anti-healing could be really miserable to play against.

Is there a range on the healing killer instinct?

    Freddy is tier B

  • The thing about teleporting the one being healed is weak, it should not be eliminated.

When you see every map rework make the map smaller, every roadmap littered with killer buffs or ""reworks"" and nothing but crumbs for survivors, when you look at the lopsided kill rates, when you notice many of your matches feature people going next then you must understand that this game is killer simp simulator.

Its not going to change any time soon.

You want killers who are weak and laugh at him, when he already survives if you are good you can beat the killer easily

No the OP is right, while 3 gen is part of it for sure, her fundamental design was what players hated and effects like 'hindered' are woefully unpopular, particularly with experienced survivors who know what they can get away with in loops but hindered throws out all experience based timing.

I think we need to wait and see how the PTB plays out either way but I do wish BHVR would stop buffing everything as not everything needs to be meta.

but you survivors want to play killer, useless from what I see you are very lazy

what. the best changes if they're not reworking him is simply revert nerfs. old freddy was only good because -action speed add-on's. the snares did play a part in making his 1vs1 better. there is no other changes he could ever receive in his current form better than that.

i thought they were reworking. i did not read find print. update is probably not that significant changes.

They will only make improvements to his current power and add some teleportation mechanics.

  • It says that it is an update not a rework and they already explained to us that it is not the same

so they're just reverting freddy snare placing speed from 4.0 m/s to 4.6 m/s and swinging chain & jump rope now grant -3% repair and healing speed per survivor in the dream world alongside jump rope granting a 9% healing speed and repair when you are in dream world?

a revert after 3 years. very good tweaks.

Basically they will be bigger changes than Myers's but it will not be a rework

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

If it wasnt a rework itd be called a tweak like they did with myers recently.

They are not adjustments and it is not a rework, it is an update

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

The only change I want is for a teleport cancel to have the full cooldown timer. Because I’m really not looking forward to a bunch of new Freddy players that spam 99% teleports every few seconds.

Do you want to nerf it even more?

  • @xltechno said:

Freddy just doesn't fit the current environment, but he's not weak enough to need a major buff. However, detailed numerical adjustments will be necessary.

As it stands now, he ends up being a very unattractive character. And obviously not strong.

Didn't BHVR say they were looking at Freddy? I can't remember where, but I'm sure they mentioned it in passing in a Dev stream or something?

Also keep in mind they just said he was "on the radar" and not that anything is necessarily going to happen soon or that they even have anything planned for him right now.

Twins have been "on the radar" since 2021, so I wouldn't expect anything soon.

What do survivors have anything to do with this? Or do they have to be part of the conversation so you can come up with the number 5? Are we now going to start a whole conversation about survivor rulebook etc? Please spare me.

Killer mains don't have to limit them to Pig, Myers, Ghostface, Freddy, Sadako and Trapper and be convinced their only other viable option is Nurse and Blight. There's plenty of in between, but you'd think visiting this forum these are all the killers, lol.

Hey there! At this moment, I just decided to unninstall DBD. It was not a decision of rage or anything like such. But, I do want to leave my feedback about some of the things that annoyed me to the point of feeling like the game was fighting against me.

I started playing around 6 months ago, as some friends were doing some SWF and invited me. I had it on my epic account since I redeemed it for free way back then. I started playing survivor, and since I am on a different continent then my friends, I had some nasty lag. At that time had some fun matches and all, but all in all, I only got hooked on the game when I started playing killer, which, for me was tons more fun. From there, I did become basically a killer only player, only playing a few matches with my friends when invited, despite the horrible lag (International servers, not a whole lot one can do about such).

Now, I have arrived at point one of why I am quitting: The Grind is horrible, in length, design and goal. Acquiring teachable perks is a horrible feeling, especially for killers, and even starting a new killer has its own set of challenges. A lot of the bloodweb is bloated with things that will never be used, and it all feels extremely bad to even fill it (I know the automated bloodweb is coming, but I don't think it resolves the issue at hand). Using challenges and rituals for Bloodpoints is hit or miss as well. The grind takes too long, simple as that.

Now, getting on a match is fun! The game is, at least in my eyes, well balanced between survivors and killers. Both do have an honest chance to win, and the fact that there is a "tie" condition is interesting. Chases can be fun, depending on perks and powers, and honestly, that should be incentivized. My in-game gripes are with how hexes are either too strong or too weak, and deadhard, the perk that I hate with a burning passion.

Now, I didn't quit matches until like one week ago, when I did notice that the game was actually getting to me. Deadhard is the most common perk I see everywhere, and for killers, it can be brutal that their first chase in the match, when you are trying to apply pressure, will be extended by "technically" 50%, needing a third hit to down said survivor. I know deadhard is about to be changed so that it isn't that prevalent early game, but I do need to mention that the first match I willingly quit was when I went through 3 dead hards in the first few minutes of the game. No generators were even done. I had the match under control, I just didn't want to have to do the "waiting for DH" dance with 3, potentially all 4 players. It is not nescessarily overpower, it is just irritating.

And now... for the main reason why I am quitting... Matchmaking Queues.

Here is the thing, I know that the game is heavily incentivized to be competitive, but I am not that competitive. I have no worries to use more fun, memey or downright bad builds. My favorite thing is making absolutely not stealthy killers stealthy. But... MMR is just bad. I am really sorry to say, because I know someone went through a lot of work to build the systems, but it is such a bad system. What made me sit down and think that I don't want to play the game anymore was, in this order:

    1- Grind 2k blood points.

2- Buy the Skull Merchant (I waited to buy her since I wait for buffs/nerfs)

3- Prestige her close to 2 to get all the perks for build variations.

4- Went in, literally in my first match, against 3 prestige 100 players.

I dodged the queue, because It was literally my first match with her. Got in queue again. Similar situation. Then again. Log out, because maybe, it is just the time. Try during the weekend, similar situation. Try monday afternoon, again, same stuff. Go in a match, lose (I thought it was a bug, and who knows, maybe winning or losing would put me on the correct bracket?). Send a ticket to BHVR, explaining the issue, get a response that is basically a "Thanks for contacting us, too bad that happened".

I would like to point out that... I am not a good player. I am DEFINITELY not even close to those gods above prestige 30. I am still working on unlocking all teachables on killers.

But... yeah. This is why I am quitting. A game that, under normal circusmtances, I would love to continue playing, but, at the moment, annoys me, and I can't even play on the newest killer. (Which, smaller point, BIG marketing blunder making people think it was a robot or cyborg. I am Brazilian, and let me tell you, I was baffled at how the reveals were done)

I do hope that the game improves, and to those that stay, I am glad that you can still have fun! The survivors are cool, the lore is awesome, and when inside of the match, the chases are fun!

As for smaller tips, this is some things that I would offer as more contained feedback, in no particular order.

1- Remake the concept of the bloodweb and shorten the grind by around 50%. And with the current ammount of perks in the game, the shrine of secrets is a joke.

2- There are killers that a part of their kit should be ignored for optimal play. I was baffled when people online told me that the reverse bear traps (Iconic for the character) is just kind of a passive slowdown that rarely kills anyone. Similar applies to Freddy. His dreamworld affects very little, in the end.

3- Hex perks are really hit or miss. I get that they are strong because they can be snuffed, but damn, some games basically felt like a losing battle because a totem spawned in the open and got destroyed less then a minute in.

4-Deadhard as it is on the PTB is way less frustrating, as at least it won't affect the first few chases that much. Circle of healing rework is great. The healing changes... well, a survivor main might know better then me, but those sound BRUTAL on paper.

5-As for the rest of the PTB: Why the random addon changes? I don't mean the changes themselves are nescessarily bad, but they feel super random. There are other addons that do need a much more love and it feels like the dev team is picking them out of a random list, or just checking out on a spreadsheet the addons that are at the top or bottom without any context of why they are there, which leads us to...

6-Why the nerf to Billy's only decent addons? He is not a strong killer already. Incredibly hard to use to full effect too! Again, was his name pulled out of a hat for a nerf?

7- Remove unlocking perk slots on level 5,10 and 15 when you already have a killer prestiged. having to spend around 200k BP as a tax for trying out a new killer feels bad.

Do hope everyone that got to this point have a nice day! I will stick around to respond if someone needs me!

  • @Wexton said:

That's it, that's the post. His add-ons are terrible, like seriously what were they thinking when they made these. Out of all of Freddy's add-ons only a couple can be considered useful, red paintbrush is the only one that's considered good. His dream pallet add-ons are pretty decent, I prefer dream pallets over snares but snares are usually the more viable option. I don't think pill bottle really does anything but I think it's cool I guess, class photo is okay although not being able to cancel your teleport is a huge downside.

Rest of Freddy's addons are straight up just horrible or useless, pretty sure Freddy has by far the worst add-ons in the game. There's not much of a point to this post I just like complaining.

  • @Technature said:

    Oh boy.

I guess if no one rigged the map, people are of similar skill, all that, things as balanced as possible.

    Freddy I think on average.

    Knight has an advantage indoors.

Twins is just difficult to actually play but can be nasty in the right hands.

And Clown I feel gets a bad reputation because nobody wants to use yellow bottles.

Freddy on the other hand gets less teleport spots as time goes on and his abilities otherwise only work when people are asleep. Being unable to see him far away most of the time generally doesn't do that much.

Freddy es el peor killer de lejísimos

  • @Pathoz said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/365779/freddy-la-pesadilla

Well... Freddy is trash. At this point, just remove this Survivor-Toy from the game.
