  • That's the scariest part about the Dredge.

  • This is not helpful to players in low ranks.

  • This is my complaint considering I've not even played the game a year and have witnessed Trickster, Nemesis, Hellraiser and now Mikaela. I honestly don't know how so many have stuck with DBD for the entire five years they've been around because I get so frustrated how they seem to care more about new characters and less about fixing the game.

And yes, I'm still a little salty that I haven't had my Saloon back 😭 Can they just hurry up and give me my Dead Dawg back??!

In a perfect world we wouldn’t have to deal with messages like that.

There are too many other interactions you are missing out on because you give energy to these people. I know sometimes it’s hard to just look the other way because you wanna get to the bottom of something or whatever the reason may be.

However, You have to stay focused on who YOU are and what kind of person you are. These people do not determine that, only you and your actions do.

Trust me I’ve had my fair share of encounters , some that were embarrassing and I can’t believe I let them get to me, and others where I just simply tried to be as rational as I could and even that didn’t help.

Nothing justifies their behavior, and to me many of these people are just looking for an audience. So anytime you engage just remind yourself you are giving them exactly what they want.

I know you’re on a different platform, from what I have gathered and it sucks that they do this when all you wanna do is enjoy the game, but my advice is to just ignore them to the best of your ability.

Beautifully put. This is exactly how I feel.

  • I am gold grade IV and yet the game continues to give me bronze teammates and killers. If this is how solo is going to be for me then I'll stick to playing with my bestie or try and get swf teams because this is garbage. I did not get to the grade I'm at by being an awful player, so why am I being stuck with teammates that leave me on the hook, hide in corners or down right look like newbie players? This is such BS

  • On Xbox One with the same issues for the past couple of days.

  • @Thornhorn7 said:

If you're solo queue, unlucky, everyone comes across a killer like that sometimes. I don't think it requires that big of a change though lol.

If you're swf, just make your friends do gens. The killer will realise they only will get 1 kill and not do it in the future. It's also a guaranteed way for them to depip.

If an exit gate has been opened and you're the only one on hook and everyone else is healthy, fair enough on the killer.

How does that only get one kill? You can still get at least two kills because you can't finish four or five gens in the time that the teammate dies on hook...and how is that fair to let the teammate die on the hook? Do you know how easily that could depip a rank that's green rank or lower?

  • @Crowman said:

If you want a chance to unhook yourself, get hooked when you aren't the last survivor. You didn't take the pressure off your teammates when they were dying so why should you get to unhook yourself now?

Know what solo que taking pressure off people looks like? Dying on first hook. This doesn't happen when I play with my team because I know they won't screw me over. Sorry, not sorry.

using "sentence enhancers" only just to sensor them doesn't express emotion or make you seem more "adult". it just makes you look like a 12yo whos mother doesn't let them use swear words. it also just makes it hard to read

That comment wasn't even directed toward you, so...? Also I didn't know that my words were sensored, so my apologies there. Again, that comment wasn't directed toward you so not sure why you care to read it at all?

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

Losing your chances to get off is done just so the killer doesn't have to camp you to make sure you don't get off the hook.

Trust me I played before the last hook auto death it was just a waiting game for the killer which was unfun and it was boring for the survivor as the moment they get off they get smacked back down then wait another minute on the floor for DS to wear off.

As for struggle point I think giving anyone who is auto death are given full struggle survival BP would be a good idea.

Fair enough. I appreciate you informing me of this without being rude. I guess I'll just cry in my pillow about it 😭

I guess I just wish something could have been done to help the survivor vs making the game end more quickly. A perk, maybe? I strive to be completely stealthy the entire game and go unnoticed even while doing gens, cleansing totems and making saves...so if there was a perk that gave me full health (like adrenaline) that can activate on my first hook as the remaining survivor then I would use up a perk slot on the characters that I give stealth builds to, and attempt to Kobe and attempt an escape. I am sure that my complaint may feel petty to some, but it's still my complaint which I'm entitled to. I play every single day and I give them plenty of money, so I'm going to voice my complaints, ideas, etc...I don't ever wanna feel like I can't, you know?

  • @Kees_T said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/273012/final-survivor-first-hook

Well then tell us your ideia, even if you kobe, what then? The Killer will just go after you again and down you, which will take like 3 seconds because he won't leave the hook until you reached the 2 phase, this was how it was before this change. Then the Killer would need to wait 60 seconds because of DS, so you get it, it was dumb.

There's a lot of unfair things, and this one is just ridiculous to complain about...

No one asked you to be rude. People ######### constantly about the dumbest ######### on these forums, so I'm entitled to #########, too. 🤷 I haven't played long enough to know that it wasn't always this way and you could have informed me without being a dick. Please learn to be a kinder person or learn to stay silent, thank you.

  • Prior to this I was getting good matches with (6-11 ranks) and the killers are good but not too overpowering and whether I would win or lose I was having strong games and everyone was getting plenty of BPs and the games lasted decently and were fun. I didn't have issues with camping or tunneling and I started to LIKE killers I once despised....

Then this happened and now I'm being paired with killers that camp/tunnel or baby killers that my bestie and I probably make cry. I don't bully and I hate those that do...but when you smoke killers because they're god awful...I feel awful and it feels like bullying to me. So far, I'm not satisfied with this BS new ranking system they're working on.

  • I hate this delay. My bestie is a Switch player and my wife is a Switch Lite player. I am on Xbox One. I despise solo ques and need my friends back. 😭

...and with that latest disconnect, I'm all the way up to a half an hour ban.

I am SO GLAD they ~fixed~ this game on console, and that my wired connection somehow keeps getting lost in the middle of my games. But only when I play DBD. It's crazy how my internet just drops when I play this one single game. CRAZY.

Kind of wondering if you were the Dwight in the game I had this happen to because this ######### had be livid!

  • I don't bring in keys because of psychos that will target you because of said key. This includes a broken key. Heads up idiots, not everyone uses a key for the sole purpose of tormenting a killer. The same goes for maps...sometimes you have totem challenges and guess what? Maps track totems!

Also, not a fan of the moris being nerfed (and no, I do not play killer because I absolutely suck at it). I see a Mori probably every sixth game or so, so it isn't so often that it's a major rank killer (like dc'ing dick wads that leave their team hanging). Plus I like seeing the mori because that's what these psychotics killers would actually be doing to us...

  • @TheGorillaProject said:

With the current "ranking system", you can't expect people to stay in a match when for example 2 mates lie on the ground the first 2 minutes. You would rather DC and wait (depending if the penalty timer is on or not) and move on to the next game.

I will kill myself on the hook if I deem the match not enjoyable for me, for example if the survivors make it unenjoyable or the killer or the map is so bad that you know you are gonna have a miserable time instead of a good time.

I want to have an enjoyable round, that doesn't means I have to escape or 4k. Always prefer a fun chase.

You can't punish people "harshly" for dc'ing. if they don't enjoy it then they will leave. This is not a competetive game where you lose ranking and drop from gold to silver for example. Ranking in this game means nothing.

The timer penalty + pip loss is fine and that's all there is to it.

People like you really annoy the hell out of me. Who cares if you dc'ing only gets you a lose pip? What about the rest of your team...and ranks DO matter. Ranks don't show how good a player is at the game, no, but they do matter with who you get matched up with and if I'm stuck with douche bags that are constantly dc'ing then it makes it harder for me and my other teammates. I've stuck it out even when multiple people dc but it sucks and it does make the game a lot harder.

Sure there are games I don't like, but I am either going to die or I'm going to fight like hell to stay alive. It's a lot easier to fight when you've got teammates there to help you.

  • "some survivors", not all survivors. Please don't lump us. Not every survivor main complains over petty BS. If I realize the killer has lightborn then I look for chests to find an item that I can use. Not to mention I am god awful with a flashlight so if I bring one, it's for practice and many times it's wasted or never touched. If my SWF comes in with flashlights it's because we aren't even paying attention to what our other teammates bring. Not every SWF is out to teabag. 🤷 Not every survivor main sits and constantly complains...some of us actually just say, okay, at least now I know what perks the killer has and I can be more cautious as I work towards getting the eff outta the hell I'm in.

As for survivors & killers that DC just because they're mad...eff them. It's stupid and irritating for both sides and precisely why I hate anything other than a SWF. It sucks when you have two teammates bail on you and you still have 3-4 gens left to go.

  • - Lags/Performance issues and being disconnected. - People that DC on purpose. - Not having a tutorial where I can practice new survivors/killers/perks without having to risk my rank being jeopardized. - Being a rank 12 and getting either a rank 20 killer or rank 1 killer. Neither make sense. - The Hag & her traps 😭😭😭

  • I play on Xbox One and I've been playing the event and doing my best to reach the end of the rift (so thankful for the extension!!!) because I so badly want that blood moon charm. 😭😭 I struggle with issues and many times I get frustrated but it hasn't stopped me from playing, so I'm confused why everyone is complaining so much?

  • I am a survivor main. I used to complain about dumb ######### but then I realized that all it did was ruin the game for me. Not to mention that if this were reality...none of these killers would give two shits about my feelings and I most certainly would never come across a "fun killer". I've learned to just play and try not to get frustrated over things I have no control over. I mean, I really hate dying so quickly but it just shows me that I need to work on my chase and my loops so that the killer can't down me so easily.

Who the hell actually likes Red Forest ? 🤣

Im terrible with names so bear with me....

The auto haven map(blood lodge maybe ???) That has a gen in the gas station. It's a smaller map. Very open, and so fun to get cross map hits with blight

The one Macmillan map that's also sorta small ish...I think it has the HUGE tree in the middle. Again very open and very fun with blight.

I absolutely love the Red Forest. 😜 Autohaven with the gas station is my favorite version of that map. I like the gas station a lot.

My favorite maps are related to aesthetics and not to actual pallets and balance.

So far lery's memorial institute, Springwood and Raccoon City Police Station.

I think I'm doing well with looping at these maps, because every loop is not too far from each other and i feel safe running around.

Boy, oh boy do I hate the institute. I feel so lost there. 😭😭

I'm the same way. I just want a game that lasts a good amount of time to feel like I had a chance to really get something accomplished and earn enough points for the game to have felt "complete". Ten, fifteen minutes is good for me. I don't care if I win or lose, I just want to feel like I had a fun, fair, and reasonably balanced game.

I'm sorry to hear that your situation was so frustrating that it made you cry. :(

That's exactly how I feel as well. I don't care if I win or lose...I just want a game that feels intense, but fun and not where everyone dies within minutes of spawning in.

And it's okay...I'm gonna start practicing more and more with Huntress and try my best to get good on the killer side.

  • I really hate games that end within the first five minutes on both sides. I like a game that lasts...a game that's intense and fun.

I was a 17 rank killer before reset even though I play killer like once in a blue moon and barely ever get kills...and I've been ranked with red, purple and green ranks. They made me cry, so I get what you mean. That does suck.

  • @DoritoHead said:

I have a similar mindset and I treat the game very casually too.

However, at the end of the day, it is a video game, and balance is super important for its longevity. Especially because at times something can be so underpowered or overpowered that it makes it hard to have fun.

I can understand the struggle with something being underpowered or overpowered...however, most survivors complain about killers being too strong, but if it were real life and Nemesis was chasing after you...more than likely, you won't be making it out. You feel me?

  • @th3 said:

It's a 4v1, which means they have to allow some agency to both sides to be able to influence the match. Depriving survivors of skill means its meaningless to play survivor, likewise with killer.

I understand that and I think the game is fair enough, but yet there are constant complaints from both killers and survivors.

I don't understand killer complaints at all because I think the game is killer sided (but being a horror game, it should be). What I don't understand is the survivor complaints other than maybe when our perks get nerfed or killers constantly complain and we lose the few advantages we do have. However, again...it is a horror game so if we don't get a lot of advantages, I get that because we aren't meant to have them. However it would be nice to have more abilities that feel more life-like (more than just crouching or vaulting) that allow for us to hide more. I'm not the best at running a killer and since our only defense is pallets (which after they fall and get broken...they're gone) or flashlights (which I'm awful at), it would be nice to have more life-like actions to have more hiding spots because closets fall me almost every single time. Other than that...I don't understand why people complain so much about a game that's based off of a genre where killers win.

  • I am a survivor main and several of my teammates love the killer shack because it is one of the best places to run a lot of killers. As much as I like having every vault or pallet available to me (since that's really our only defense), I actually agree with you... completely.

It's the killer shack...a place where you're not meant to leave once you've been placed in it. If it was designed for the killer, then it shouldn't be such an easy place for survivors to survive. It should reflect the killers and honestly scare the living ######### out of us, but also entice us (an extra chest would definitely do the trick there, especially if the loot was more rare - I would do anything for a commodious toolbox).

There are certain rooms on certain maps with only one way out...this should be the same with the killer shack. The window should be closed off unless the killer breaks it and maybe change the boarded up wall into a second door that can be broken by the killer, if they so desired. Whatever they end up deciding if they ever make changes...I would love to see it turn into something more terrifying.

  • I despise the Hag. 😭

This is what happens to me and I'm on Xbox One. Terrifying especially against the Nemesis. No sounds, no terror radius...nothing, just poof and he was there!

Damn well that's unfortunate 😂 good thing I never said I'm an intellectual lol

To the person who wrote the post I'll be honest mate Hag doesn't get any better the more you play the game. She's either a really good Hag or a bad, camping Hag. Neither of these are fun to face so just be happy she isn't played that often.

Maybe not for you, but a rank 13-17 tends to get stuck with the world's worst campers and constantly jack our ranks. I have only been playing roughly 4-5 months and it can take time to get to rank 10-11 (which is usually where I stay stuck because I'm still learning each survivor and how to escape each killer), so when rank reset happens I'm usually back to 13 and end up with so many players that camp and tunnel for BP that I usually end up in 14-15 a lot quicker than back to 10-11. It is just frustrating because Hags & Bubbas are the worst. I don't think I should have to bring in a flashlight constantly to avoid this type of behavior. I hate flashlights.

  • @Michi said:

You can crouch. This will not trigger any traps.

Sadly many hag players play her wrong and spam traps around the hook but atleast you do not have to worry about traps at other places.

If you get unhooked or you are approaching a hooked surv start crouching. Flashlights can also erase traps. One last Info to really mess with her : if you know where she planted a trap, approach it slowly and as soon as you trigger it run away from the phantasm. She can teleport as fast as she want, she will not get you if you do it properly

My issue is that I'll crouch to move across it but as soon as I stand to unhook, it still seems to set it off. The other issue is I rarely bring in a flashlight because I'm terrible with them and end up getting murdered 90% of the time when trying to practice with it.

I guess if I we got to see the killer the same way they saw us, it would be different. If I knew I was going into the match against a hag, I would gladly bring in a flashlight. But thank you for the advice, regardless.

  • That's it, that's all it took. Thank you for all your help.

If they're being camped (yes even proxy camped) and you don't have BT. Thats exactly what you should do.

The Killer has minimal map pressure from staying near a hook. Slam the gens and gtfo of the game if the Killer refuses to play don't be a hero. Altruistic people that try to play hero are more likely to make things worse than better.

You don't need BT to save a survivor off the hook when dealing with a camper. It's called take a protection hit.

I am a HUGE altruistic player and I will do everything I can to save every single teammate and get us all out, safely. If you know what you're doing and you do it well, you keep your team alive and not "make things worse" as you claim.

  • Sometimes it just seems unlucky when it comes to a good Huntress. I dropped a pallet and watched the hatchet hit the pallet and then "bounce" off it to down me. I've also rounded a corner just to watch a boomerang hatchet swing around and take me out.

Regardless of how irritated these moments were for me, never did I think they were a hacker. I know they exist but I honestly think sometimes it's more of a glitch than a hacker coming into your game.

  • I don't get this complaint? Do you not know how difficult it is to play this game with randoms you can't communicate with? Especially for those of us in lower ranks 12-18 and even occasionally in the 6-11 ranks, depending on the time of day.

  • I just want to know who you guys are playing against or with where they use keys so often that this is even a post?

Get rid of them for all I care. Most of the time I can't even find the hatch when I'm the last survivor, so I usually just go for the door. 🤷

  • @Power_Guy said:

I don't know if I said it to you before, but it's latency. To the server, you were at 99%, not 100%, when the Killer started hooking you.

Keep in mind, we can start the hook animation from odd angles, and we slide into place. That gives up roughly 1-2 meters of reach.

    Gotcha.

  • @Hurttyson137 said:

I think the trickster should have a limit on his throwing knives. It says dodge them but it's next to impossible with how many he has and how quickly he can throw them.

Agreed. The ONLY thing I hate about the Trickster is his knives.

I say give him a bad ass ninja star and let it be like the Huntress' hatchet.

  • @Power_Guy said:

Oh yes, let's give the Survivors weapons.

Let's turn it into an FPS while we're at it. Because that won't ruin everything about the game.

    /s

    Why do you say that?

  • @Seraphor said:

Maybe try another game then, like Home Sweet Home: Survive.

I don't think you'll ever be able to 'fight back' in DBD.

I haven't heard of that? I'll have to look into it. Makes me a little sad thinking that DBD wouldn't ever allow that. I am obsessed with this game. 😭

  • I find these comments to be very interesting. I guess I need to get out of the 12-13 rank to find a good killer that doesn't constantly toss knives at you until you're down...

I hate the Trickster solely because of his knives (this coming solely from a survivor because I don't play killer as often) and think it's a load of crap that he seems to have unlimited knives and not every single survivor can so easily dodge the knives as some comments have mentioned. To me when I play all I see is a bunch of little ######### boys tunneling, camping or constantly tossing knives and most of the time winning because of this. I would have preferred to see him with a ninja star that he can throw like the Huntress has with her hatchets.
