  • Had the same issue with Victor getting stuck in the ground when releasing him on Ormand. Luckily it was a custom game so my friends were willing to crush him for me but I can see this easily being exploited in matchmaking by survivors refusing to crush a stuck victor.

  • Lol I find this funny because I always run into the opposite problem. People rushing for the unhook while the killer is standing there... And not even bothering to run BT

  • Watched your video and yes I agree a genrushing build can be overbearing to deal with that video isn't a good indicator of your point. 1. The video doesn't show the whole match and is edited. No way to know how long the match actually took aside from what the narrator says. 2. Wasn't your point that he was solo and broke the game? Dude straight up says the match is SWF genrushing team.

  • Sadly that type of thing isn't unique to dbd. You'll encounter it everywhere in the gaming world. I'm sorry you've had to deal with that. Try not to let it get to you. Unfortunately it's something we have to deal with.

  • I don't use it because 99% of the time I don't get slugged. It's a waste of a slot for me to run a perk to counter something that almost never happens.

  • Had this issue as well. Took my a full minute to get the hatch to open. Hatch position is fine, just make it face the opposite direction.

  • Where's my dead horse? It's time to beat it again.

So in your mind having up to 100+ frame rate isn't an advantage? To have sound options isn't an advantage? To have easy access to mods isn't an advantage? To have overall better visuals isn't an advantage? If the answer is NO then why exactly should I care what you think?

This is a funny thing that I am noticing happen here. Virtually every PC streamer talks as if console is terrible and so does their chats. Yet when it comes to terms of PC players possibly losing their advantage. Oh nooooooooooo its hardly any differen! There is no advantage!! At least stand firm on your BS beliefs instead of pretending to have other ones. That is the truly cowardice thing to do since that got mentioned in this topic.

I play on console I don't play video games on a PC. You really think that wouldn't be like learning something all over again? How can you possibly say that? Can the average human write with their non dominant hand as well as their dominant one? NO! and they are essentially the same thing.

I wonder what would happen if DBD suddenly found a way to drop MKB for terms of fairness and everyone had to use a controller. STRANGE I suspect massive backlash would ensue. Its almost like they would lose part of their advantage and it wouldn't even be ALL of the advantage.

Bruh, I didn't say anything about anything that you mentioned there. I pointed out that switching to KB+M isn't exactly "relearning the entire game." I also never said any of your points weren't valid. I said they weren't well made. You're too concerned with standing on your soapbox and ranting about the unfair disadvantage you have to hear what anyone else is saying. Maybe rethink how you're presenting your argument and you'd receive better feedback.

    Edit: punctuation, typo

So re learn the entire game so we can BENEFIT PC players? What? We bought the game for console. What about our lesser playerbase when crossplay is turned off?

MKB support is really going to help when PC has vastly better visuals. Totally levels it out.

You really think switching to KB+M amounts to relearning the entire game? Even if I thought any if your points were made well (they weren't) you would have lost me there.

  • @Pryzm said:

No, no, hell no. The only saving grace about this cross play disaster is you don't have to hear the whining and bs from the other players. The harassment that goes on in the console community is legendary and has no place here in the PC realm. Granted, I'd just turn off the chat screen, but that could cause problems on the survivor side. I've ignored pre-game chat before because it was immature and sexist only to have those same survivors teabag around the hook I'm on. Why? Because I ignored their pre-game chat.

This is an absolutely horrible idea and should never be implemented.

Because people don't get harassed in the PC side? 90% of the posts I see here complaining about people being toxic in this game are about post game chat which doesn't exist on consoles... So I wonder where those complaints are coming from?

  • To me, I think it depends on the way they play. Tunnelling (actually tunnelling, like ignoring others at the hook to specifically chase down the unhooked person not just happening to find the last person who was unhooked next after searching around,) face camping, slugging to prevent hatch because you just can't risk not getting that 4k. Those are sweaty behaviors. Getting a 4k doesn't automatically make you sweaty, it's all in how you play.

The devs are too scared to make dc penalties actually bad. Like a few mins off is nothing and only ever builds up if you do it in quick concession. Probably gonna get some hate but I think people who dc should just be banned. Yeah they'd have to make the system more accurate and not punish people who just have their internet disconnect mid match. I've had that give my a time penalty once. But yh if they could fix that then I don't see why they couldn't make the punishments harsh.

Unfortunately, it has to be an all or nothing system. If the system detected internet failure as the reason for a DC then people would just pull their Ethernet cord to prevent penalties. It's happened before. It's kind of like you have to take the bad with the good. Does it suck getting a penalty when your internet legitimately dies? Yeah, it does. But there are too many ways for leniency in it to be abused sadly. I'd say the pros far outweight the cons when it comes to DC penalties.

In the end it is the claudette who makes it out alive and gets more reward than dwight.

The Claudette may get out alive but in that scenario, the Dwight is guaranteed to be awarded better. The Dwight will have 4x as many blood points, probably double pip, at the very least single pip. The Claudette will be lucky to safety pip. The only thing the Claudette gets in that scenario that Dwight does not is the result of "Escaped" in post match results.

I'm still baffled they don't use Devotion level (overall player level) to match players... It's the exact same as colored ranks (the more you play the higher your level) but it takes so long to get them, you should be at a reasonable level of understanding whether playing killer or survivor. A D5 (Devotion 5) should not be going against a D0... One of those players has more time and understanding of the game.

Devotion levels that should match together:

    - D0-D2 (beginner)

    - D3-D6 (novice)

    - D7-D10 (intermediate)

    - D11+ (expert)

I couldn't see this working. I've been playing this game for over a year and am only devotion level 1, and I can tell you I'm not a "beginner" at this game whatsoever. You'd run into the same problem, possibly even worse than using rank was because it takes forever to level up devotion if you don't play this game for hours on end daily. That and at least rank took *some* skill to earn. Someone who is a complete potato at this game who just enjoys playing it alot would end up in "expert" matchmaking just from playing a lot yet not ever performing well in a match.

I disagree. Its just worse for killers, and easier for survivors.

Been running killer matches for a while today and I feel like the changes are beneficial for the killers too. I haven't been running into hardcore sweats near as often.

Wait, what? Is it live already? I'm on PS4 and didn't get a patch nor ingame news?

It was a server side update and it's live on Xbox One only right now.

  • @cheetocultleader said:

The only concern I have (so far) with the announcement is on PC, people can see who the killer is. Will that be fixed by the time this goes live I wonder?

I believe it is a glitch or a hack and it won't be a thing once it's fixed

  • I haven't done much for playing since it went active on Xbox, however I can say that so far, it seems the skill is much better matched. I've had challenging matches as opposed to matches that are steam rolled on either side

The reason game companies don't announce this is because they learned from the Battlefield 5 Experience.

Don't say stuff like that or else people will, seriously, NOT play your game. This mentality isn't productive.

"doNt pLaY thE gAmE thEn duuUuuRRR"

Go look at his addons, and tell me with a straight face they're fine.

Read Lopros Chains, test it out, and tell me it's a fine addon.

Go test out Tuned Carburetor and tell me it's fine. Do you play the game?

I never said the add-ons were fine. If people want to give feedback, great. But there is a different between feedback and complaining. I don't disagree that things needs fixed. I disagree with the flak the devs get when they are doing what they can to improve the game but the community here keeps tearing them down.

I never said they were fine. There is a HUGE difference between feedback and complaining. If you give feedback, that's great. If you're just bitching, then go somewhere else. It's tiring seeing this community ######### and ######### and ######### about the game, when the devs are doing what they can to improve it based on feedback from BOTH sides of the game.

I think it's ridiculous they nerfed him and turned his addons into poo poo.

Cool. Don't play they game then. So many people come in here and complain about what they don't like about the game and how it's trash yet.... They keep playing? Nah people just like to complain.

Well then it would be smarter to mention it in the post instead of making it look like you only made the rev heating change

Makes sense. Because then if they don't have time you can whine about how they mentioned it but didn't change anything. They can't win either way with this community. It's ridiculous.

  • From what I understand (and I'm by no means an expert and don't follow the updates very closely) they are working on better rating system for skill than the current ranking system. I don't know what the details are exactly.

I had this as well last weekend. I'm a rank 8 killer and I faced 4 rank 18-20s. You'd think crushing noobs is a fun experience but it's not. There's nothing to it. They are walking in plain sight, they see that I'm coming towards them and they just crouch.

You're not an ostrich, Nea. It doesn't work.

Lmao yeah, I hear you. I can't imagine this is fun for either side. Can't wait for the new matchmaking to go live (assuming it ever does *sigh*)

  • I am not an expert at the ToS or what's bannable and what's not, but I'd venture to say using any type of third party software or code to give yourself an advantage over others is probably a bannable offense.

  • I agree. I'm a survivor main for the most part, although I do partake in killer every once in a while and I run into toxic survivors far more than I do toxic killers. This is playing waaaay more survivor matches than I ever do killer matches. I think part of it is a gang mentality issue. People feel more confident and willing to "bully or berate" when they're in a group than they do by themselves.

  • Personally I think they should find a better way of tracking skill, like with the MMR matchmaking they are talking about. They should also find a better rank reset that reflects that. I just reset from rank 5 one pip from 4 to rank 9 with 0 pips. I'll get it back quickly with how much I play, but it's still sucky to lose all that progress only being one pip away from red.

  • I have never used the survivor meta build. It doesn't suit my play style and I feel that one, if not more, of the "meta perks" just encourage bad plays. I've managed to make it to red ranks using Kindred (great perk for map awareness but useless against undetectable sadly,) Spine chill (because undetectable is a thing,) Distortion (100% underrated perk. It gives me so much info such as if bitter murmors, BBQ, Nurses Calling, etc. Are in play,) and Urban Evasion just because I like playing stealthily.

  • All these complaints... Yet here you are still playing the game. If you don't like it, don't play. Simple solution.

  • This is kind of funny because just yesterday I was told about a friend who got yelled at in a custom game for "gen camping." I laughed the person who told me about it out of the chat. They were a survivor in that particular game. I had to explain to them that if they 3-genned themselves they brought this so called "gen camping" on themselves. I understand getting irritated at hook camping but if a killer can "gen camp" and it be a valid strategy to win, then they brought it on themselves. I'm a survivor main, play a little bit of killer here and there, and I find it ridiculous what other survivors complain about sometimes.

  • If you have said there was a problem with paid currency, I'd agree with you. But iridescent shards are free in game currency you earn by playing. Can't call it anti-consumer because it's basically just a reward system for grinding the game.

Think of it more in the terms of bloodpoints. You spend 7k on a pink first aid add-on but die on first hook and don't get a chance to use it. It sucks, yeah but the only thing you lost is your time.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

6S and above is hardly what you need. There was definitely a typo and it should say 9S. Reason being is I have a Stylo 5 and apparently it's not compatible yet it's get better overall specs than the S7 and maybe S8.

Compatibility is about Android OS version, not hardware specs. Granted, even a phone running Android 10 but with sucky hardware is going to be an issue.

  • @Cheers said:

The only thing I don't like about survivors is that some of them use so many second chance perks, mainly decisive, borrowed and adrenaline.

I do find alot more toxic survivors then killers at high ranks, but that may be the 4/1 ratio, and because I use OoO ( I'm a solo) I get alot of salty killer messages).

I honestly don't get why people lean on those perks so much. I don't use them, never have. And killers are right when they say those perks encourage bad plays. It's not just annoying for the killers, it's annoying for us survivors too.

  • I play both killer ad survivor (survivor more than killer) and I don't have a whole lot of complaints about either one.

Sometimes as killer I get 4ks, sometimes 2ks, sometimes 0ks.

Sometimes as survivor, I die and sometimes I don't

I mainly come on the forums to read in my downtime at work because, to me, it's funny to read when people get so salty over a video game. I'll give input sometimes but usually if I can be constructive about it.

  • I think 90% of the complaints I see are about broken game mechanics, op loops and op perks. But I see people complaining less about the way people play at the way they act in the post game chat. I play on Xbox, we don't have that and I have never received a message from someone being toxic or rude but I can see post game chat being a toxic place. But no one ever talks about the obvious solution... Get rid of post game chat.

  • Hook suicide penalty is a bad idea. Can't count how many times I've been playing, struggling on hook and a wild lag spike randomly jumps out of the tall grass and guess what? No more living.

Also, sorry to say this but if face camping and slugging are legitimate strategies to win, so is suiciding on hook so your buddy can jump out of the hatch.

  • It fixes early game gen speeds, true but what happens when you get an AFK killer? You could spend the time looking for and getting within range of the killer sure, but what happens when we get the trolls who will wraith cloak and hide in a corner for the match? Not saying this will be a huge problem, but someone, somewhere, will do it.
