It's not about "whiners" it's about the fact that these were proven to be used to harass our players in a hateful manner - that's not something we're going to support and we're certainly not going to make it easier for people to do this in our game.
cool so if 1% of players do a bad thing the other 99% of players get to lose out on something as well because you guys still don't have a decent report system. looking forward to you guys caving in over the future twitter mob over bubba's Pretty Lady skin being "transphobic". remember: it's never enough!

I really have to ask, but were the Bubbas wearing certain masks harassed or where they considered the ones harassing survivors?
And how was this proven?
yes, just wearing the Smart Face mask was enough for people to DC against you and call you racist etc. regardless of how you play. but a couple of black twitch streamers were whining about it, so that makes it okay.

I can't even play as survivor because I'm terrible at it, despite seeing it as casual and trying to have fun and I can't play Killer since I'm apparently terrible at that and can't even manage a kill. Maybe I'm not in a good mental state to be playing this game, maybe I'm just a terrible player and person.
The mentality this game and community seems to promote is something i very much dislike. It's an asymmetrical game. It's factually unbalanced and im tired of people trying to prove or assume it is balanced. There are too many perks and killers to make the game balanced now, i think the director said this in an interview how the game's balance is chaotic. For this reason, i've felt this way since the start, that i should just try to have fun and see what happens when i play this game. Sadly for me this means i dont get along with most of the community but im just trying to do what i believe is right. If you personally cannot enjoy this game with a different mindset then i think you should play something else for a bit. If so then yes, uninstall. Removing the game client will give you chance to reconsider if you choose to reinstall.

Fear Of Missing Out is perfectly normal human behaviour. Businesses know this.

i'd be fine with it if this cut both ways but it doesn't, everything about the game is completely slanted in favor of the survivors now and killers have to deal with the "chaos" of their 800 health states and free healing and free unbreakable and there's nothing you can do about it. killers don't get to impart any chaos on survivors because now they have an answer for anything you can possibly do and so much of the game is controlled by survivors. even the game's brand new hex perk is reliant on survivors doing something (cleansing) they don't do anymore because boons are so much better and killers can't stop them from being put up every 5 seconds.
-
feel like if you're gonna nerf a killer i bought into the ground i should be entitled to some kind of refund. i'd be fine with auric cells even.
-
at this point i don't understand why killer is even a thing anymore, just make killers bots and make the game survivor only. the only thing i can think of is that someone at BHVR gets off to dumping on people who play killer.

The problem is I feel like I am obligated with the rift. I feel like I'm going to miss out since it's only available for a limited time, otherwise I'll have to buy stuff. I just feel this obligation to play because of these limited time things. I want to stop but I just... can't. I don't know why. Am I insane? Stupid? Both?
the "games as a service" model was designed by literal sociopaths for this reason, so you feel obligated to play no matter how burnt out you get because you're "missing out". so it's funny for Cote to have disingenuously said stuff like "go play Civ!" while his game is advertising exclusive content you'll miss out on forever if you don't play enough.

Its been bad recently. People giving up on 1st hook, people going afk, long queue times for survivor.
The irony is the PTB tonight has been more fun than the live version in a long time. Short queues (for survivor at least) and nobody is going afk, disconnecting or giving up on hook.
Also put with good ranks too for survivor but facing a few too many rank 20 killers.
the game is really fun when everyone isn't sweating. they really need to refocus it, everyone sweating for 4k/4 escape just leads to everyone being asshoIes to each other and trying to make the experience as miserable as possible for the other side.

I mean, Spine Chill is really good no matter what Killer you're going against. Combine it with Resilience and people who are good at chases can give it borderline OP status. It just so happens that Spine Chill also has the benefit of cucking Myers.

"just run this one perk forever even if it's not against SM Myers" is lol advice
SM Myers is a meme build, it's fun to play against because it's so different. he can come up at you out of nowhere but has no chase which is the tradeoff for his jumpscare ability. "just run this perk bro" is stupid advice because you don't know what killer you're playing against so it more comes down to how you play. you just need to be super aware at all times, have 2 escape routes in mind because you never know where he's coming from.

That’s what bad players say. You don’t have to do any of that and it’s a really bad tactic against good survivors.
Let me guess you also need NOED right?
i'm sure you'd love it if every killer ignored their only advantages and mindlessly chased and roamed while you m1 gens for 4 minutes and get an escape with zero effort
-
@ClickyClicky said:
Oh please. More than anything else survivors hate camping and tunneling. Yet its still in the game for killers to do to their hearts content. Its definitely not all about survivors fun
camping and tunneling is increasingly becoming something you have to do as a killer because of how survivor sided the game is.
-
it seems like with him you need strong anti-gen perks because tbh during chases he's not bad, his core issue is one that he shares with most other killers with bad mobility on massive maps that have no business being so large. given his ability to down i've seen streamers gravitate to PGTW which makes sense. he might just be mid-low tier until the map changes come. i wouldn't want them to overbuff him and then he becomes ridiculous with new maps but i guess it depends how far off that is.
-
@dizbruhlikesthering said:
I agree! The new killer may seem underwhelming and basic at first, but i think when you get to play him properly he is much more advanced. I like the new killer.
i think it's just possible people haven't gotten him nailed down yet and BHVR is waiting for that before making any balance changes. like i definitely see him getting a couple of small buffs and QoL type things. his only real downside is one a lot of other killers have, a lack of map pressure, but i guess that can be tweaked with perks.

Everyone connects to a characters based on various attributes, backgrounds, and etc.
That is why representation matters.
Whether this be in a game, movie, book, and etc.
On top of that other people who don’t know about that specific culture also open up to something new. So it works for both side.
no one is entitled to "representation".

Because the first primary objective for survivors is to do generators so they have a better chance at escaping. NOED does not reward the killer for survivors not cleansing totems, it rewards a killer for sucking at the game. It’s not a fair perk because the killer can tunnel a survivor for 5 gens and then kill everyone last second who didn’t deserve to die all because of 1 perk and the sad thing is the killer feels like they did something or actually won the match when that happens.
by this logic it's not fair that survivors can't win if they don't do gens, so gens should just autocomplete and the game teleports them to the exit so they don't have to worry about being chased
and you would STILL complain it's not enough
@Archimedes5000 said:

So why nerf NOED? Well not really nerf it, just nerf it for campers, bad players and no one else.
Simple nerf:
NOED can be used only on surviviors you have hooked before.
So basically this will be a nerf only for killers who cant even menage to get 4 BBQ stacks. And if you get only 3 stacks, then thats still 3 people you can use NOED on.
no. git gud, stop whining.

"Survivors should by default be weaker", lmfao, if you have ever played overwatch you will know that attacking or defending does give you an advantage depending on the map usually. Same with this game, survivors are still so easily steam rolled on ######### maps vs a killer who even slightly knows what they are doing, and it goes both ways
yes the difference between attacking/defending in overwatch is so vast it's literally exactly like DBD!
not even reading the rest of your garbage post if that's your opening argument lmao

-
love how video games are a job now
-
anything a killer does to even the odds is "toxic"
flashlight spamming and teabagging aren't toxic though because survivors do it
-
i don't really understand the argument of RNG or whatever insisting the game doesn't need to be balanced. you guys do understand that the more the game caters to survivors and the less fun it gets playing killer the longer queues get and the worse matchmaking gets, right? if one role of the game is fundamentally unfun and stressful to play, people aren't gonna play it. especially if said role's play is totally at ends with the way the game is advertised - survivors totally control the flow of the game and dump on killers all the time.
streamers who invested thousands of hours and have every single perk unlocked do fine, but it's really rough out there for anyone who's just starting out. trying to level killers is a nightmare once you hit a certain rank threshold because i'm eventually put up against fully decked out red ranks, so i just won't play killer after a certain point.

Killers are mad that they gotta sweat for the win. Go play literally any multiplayer game tho and tell me how far you get "taking your time". I promise you will get destroyed because that's just how people play games. Maybe dbd should have a casual or perkless mode for players on both sides who don't like to sweat
DBD isn't "literally any multiplayer game". it's an asymmetric game, but one with a flawed design where the team that should be weaker (survivors) is stronger than what is advertised as the "power role" and one side completely dictates the flow of the game.
in CSS, the CTs don't have more power than the Ts. in Overwatch, the defending team can't steamroll the attacking team without putting in more effort. things are more even in other multiplayer games from the get go. but it's increasingly apparent that the "balance" of the game only goes one direction, with the Killer role repeatedly dumped on.

But after all, the authors of the Terminator will only be a plus. From an additional contract, they will profit from the purchase of DLС with Terminator
in theory but again, DG totally bombed. also not sure what the agreement between BHVR and the license holders is - does BHVR pay up front or do they get a cut of each individual sale of DLC? also has to do with the way the brand is perceived, DG bombed and tbh DBD isn't doing too hot right now either so.
-
outside of the post-reset grace period where i'll get a couple of more even games i pretty much refuse to touch killer until matchmaking is fixed. it's even more apparently survivor side when i play lvl 40+ decked out survivors at rank 12+ versus 16-20 rank killers with 1-2 perks, it's ridiculous.
i really don't care if my wait times went up if it meant that i got more enjoyable games, and was party to games that are more enjoyable all around. because as it stands DBD is a really solid concept that just perpetuates itself on misery and toxicity in a way that no other multiplayer game really does.
-
i like this idea but i can already see toxic surv mains just running around to find the killer to end the warmup period as fast as possible.

It would be nice if Corrupt Intervention kicked in when there are 3 gens left rather than at the beginning.
or maybe both. or have it trigger per hook would make it more active. i.e.
on hook, 1/2/3 (per time survivor has been hooked) gen(s) are blocked for the duration the survivor is hooked, preferring the closest gen that is actively being worked on, otherwise it's random. when a sacrifice occurs, selected gens are blocked for 30/45/60 seconds.
idk something like that so you're not basically playing with 3/4 perks for the entire game.
-
@Animator said:
In principle, developers can make him the next Killer, because they already have rights to him (from DG) and he is humanoid in appearance.
not the way rights work. negotiation was for the character's appearance in DG, they weren't given a waiver to use the Terminator in everything and anything. in theory the lines of communication are already open so it'd be simple to get another opportunity but with how badly DG failed idk. there's also the fact that the Terminator is in Mortal Kombat now so i'm not sure if they really want to have it associated with a lesser brand.
-
aura reading only goes so far. you need tools to deal with chases more than anything else. especially when more and more gens get done, the number of places survivors could be reduces so aura perks get less and less useful the longer the game goes on.
-
i had a game vs trapper where, and i am not BSing you, we popped 3 gens at the same time at the beginning of the game. this was after i, as Jake, sabotaged a hook to do my challenge. by the time we got those gens done (and after i sabo) he managed to get a single hook.
this wasn't SWF and at least in my case wasn't just sweaty gen rushing, i just happened to have one right by me after i did my sabo.

Yeah it sucks for both sides. Killers have to resort to "no fun" tactics while survivors do the same. Stuck in vicious cycles and all that. Real bummer how the game is right now.
the problem is the way the game is set up right now. the end goals are unrealistic and lead to people doing everything in their power to make the game as unfun as possible for the other side. 4k/4 escape should be something that happens occasionally like a pentakill in League, not the end all be all goal.
if 2k was the goal/ideal for killers and for survivors it was more about unhooking/breaking chases than escaping every time the game would be way healthier.

I completely agree with this. Now more than ever the game is mid/end game focused for killers, and it's important to have a strategy as the killer. It's not just about chasing, and that's why higher ranked killers don't feel as bad about the recent changes.
A lot of my games I spend the beginning of my games on setup.
1. Find a good area with few loops and 3-4 gens bunched together.
2. Find a survivor and push them into that area so that they break all of the pallets in the early game. So that come late game they don't have them.
3. Dominate and push survivors out of that area until they've finished the other generators
This is a great strategy that I use a lot in most matches because of the difficulty to play against this. It's tricky to master because it requires a little foresight, and then being able to get the pallets in your area in the early game. But most times survivors don't know what you're doing, they think you're just bad. But then they look up, they only have 2 gens left to go, and then they realize they've three gen themselves.
I did this twice last night as a prestiged rank 1 doctor and 4k both times against red and purple rank SWF, one on coldwin, the other on McMillan. Both were large maps, but using this method I cut the map in half and only had to apply pressure to one side. You can win most matches like this. You just gotta know when to break chases, and like they said above, know which objectives to prioritize.
my only issue with this is that it also puts you in a bad position too. it's not gonna be long until they're able to just kamikazee gens with self-care if you aren't playing someone with expose/aoe like Myers/Leatherface. playing Wraith or Trapper this quickly becomes a sort of war of a thousand cuts that you can very easily lose in the end. i feel like this is the most effective strategy for killers now, but it requires putting yourself in a very shaky position and just exposes a flaw in the way the game flows right now.
-
@Advorsus said:
Like I've said before they need to implement a normal mode without ranks, and then redo their ranking system. Have a ranked gameplay option where if you want to, and if you care about ranks then you can choose to play that mode. Matchmaking allows you to find matches with people of the same rank and one rank above. So if you're in red ranks you can be paired with red and purple ranks. If you're purple you can be paired with red, purple, and high tier green ranks, like ranks 10-11. But green ranks can't be paired with red ranks. This makes it to where if you're ranking up, you will usually play against of either equal or better skill. That way you actually earn your spot, instead of rank=time played. Also introducing rank rewards that give a reason for wanting to rank up. All cosmetic of course.
i'd like this too because then maybe there'd be a place for sweaty tryhards to do all their body blocking/infinite looping/mega blinking and then a place for people who are just learning or just want to have fun.

No, it shouldn't. There are good players with low level and awfully bad players with high level. Also it allows for smurfscumming, which is never good.
seems you don't understand what the term "account for" means. Sad!
-
to add to this i wish matchmaking would also account for your character level as well. really not fun going up against fully kitted out survivors with a level 1 killer.
-
he'll probably get nerfed but some of it is people need to adjust to how to loop him, it's different from other killers
-
the focus of the game being escaping/4k and the "win state". i don't know how they'd do it but some kind of refocusing the scope of the game so that it's more about the meat of the game (chases/stalking) would really help. because as it stands with such static and difficult win conditions the game revolves around each side doing everything in their power to make the game as unfun and frustrating as possible for the other side. it's not like other games where it's just about winning, it's the equivalent of the game being like Counter Strike and each team has infinite flash nades and the goal is to flash the enemy team the most.
i just feel like 4 escapes/4k should be more like a Pentakill in League or something, a thing that can happen occasionally when everything is aligned right but isn't the actual focus of the game.
-
@Zeidoktor said:
Another thought that occurs to me, if map sizes are an issue and given the changes to the Gatekeeper Emblem, would it be worth simply letting those generators go? Sacrifice a couple generators you can't readily defend anyway, keep an eye on the ones you CAN, and any emblem points lost in the first gens being done can be earned back, if I'm remembering how Gatekeeper was changed correctly (I could easily be wrong there, I didn't look at it as closely as Doctor or Ruin)
doesn't work in the end unless you're playing Leatherface or Myers something. they can just mob the gen and win out in the end. you whack one, they go off and self-heal. you try to chase, they just mob the gen and do it anyway or run to another gen. in the end survivors win that war of attrition unless you're playing someone that can get exposed and down multiple survivors quickly.
that strategy DOES work if you're doing good in the game and have at least one down but if you're up against some SWF sweaty tryhard group then no lol

Ruin was a bandaid for issues for killers, like how quickly gens could be completed. They have not adressed these issues, so killers that aren't god tier now suffer.
Now there are builds one can make without ruin, but they are more of a gamble than anything else.
Killers don't have the power role at the moment. The killers are always on a time crunch since the survivors dictate the game, not the killers. Look at the difference between survivor play and killer play by red rank survivors (like Otz, Monto, True, Scott, etc.), with survivors, many of them can listen to music and afford to be more relaxed. Killer play has to be completely focused, as a single mistake can often be the difference between a 4k and a 0k.
Killer also has a much higher skill ceiling than survivor.
>They have not adressed these issues, so killers that aren't god tier now suffer.
yeah it especially sucks because i'm trying to learn killer and try out new killers and level them and i'm not high ranked but keep getting put up against red rank survivors that know every single perfect loop spot and have memorized the maps inside and out and know how to perfectly counter every killer etc.
for all i hear about BHVR catering exclusively to new players and dumping on newbies they really don't do anyone learning killers any favors.

Depends on what's happening. If someone outmind games me then I absolutely say something like "damn nice swing." Or, something like "Oh ######### what a god." But, a lot of aspects of DBD aren't skill based or they require low skill. Stuff like playing safe pallet loops isn't impressive nor is getting a hit or down at an unsafe pallet. I'll give respect where it's earned.
this is kind of a core issue with the game. it never really feels skill based, it's half luck and half abusing things that are oversights or just poorly designed.
