isn't this thread talking about unfair things people do in this game?

people using map offerings to tilt the game in their favour is and it's gross as hell

Also to answer your question, yeah - a Killer sent to a bad map is more likely to do things you mentioned if you ask me. Personally I have no mercy on map offering users.

What do you consider bad maps besides the obvious Haddonfield? Macmillan and Autohaven are some of the most balanced maps in the game. Don't take your frustrations out on other people.

    Remove map offerings

    Survivors players abuse them

    Killer players abuse them

They have no reason to exist.

Map offerings make you face camp and tunnel?? What??

Do you not want to hear from the other side and try to understand that psyche? Or you just wanting an echo chamber?

Yikes. Kicking someone out of your thread? Very toxic behavior.

I don't want to hear from people who think they are genuinely doing nothing wrong. They won't listen to me and my frustrations so I don't want to listen to them. He has missed the ENTIRE point of this discussion so he can get off of it. I've read many comments from other killers who play like this and none of them have irked me other than this guy.

While I agree that piping with killers is alot easier than solo q, I am not sure piping is that important since sbmm.

You said it yourself, it is all kills/escapes now to boost your mmr.

Killers shouldn't be able to gain MMR if they are camping. It's already in the game. The developers know how to code it. If you sit next to a hook for too long, you lose chaser points for the emblem. The same system should work with your MMR. That would be significantly harder to code for tunneling, but they already have a straightforward penalty to camping that genuinely does nothing because no one cares about chaser points unless you are trying to double pip for adepts.

  • @KerJuice said:

@scenekidtrash what Rank were you before SBMM? I’m assuming Red or at the very least hovering between high purple to low red (6-3)?

Rank 1 both sides, although I don't think rank matters. I do think I am an above average survivor and killer, but I'm definitely not as good as some players. Somewhere between a little tryhard and sweaty for both sides.

  • @Shaped said:

So how would you people punish camping/tunneling?

I don't see any way to make it work except survivors punishing it together.

Just don't suggest things that were tried before in the past and abused.

Don't let killers pip off of camping and tunneling. It's literally that simple. If you are camping and tunneling the ENTIRE match, you shouldn't be allowed to pip/gain MMR from it. The new SBMM system rewards that playstyle because a 4k=win=more MMR. However, when you get to the higher MMR players, they will legit just sit on generators and not give a crap about the hooked survivor. You will lose that game and get frustrated. If you play in a non-scummy way (get more than 4 hooks total) and get a 4k, you deserve to pip and increase your MMR because you are legitimately winning your match. People who face camp and tunnel KNOW what they are doing is messed up, they just don't care. It isn't even fun for the killer to do that stuff because they just sit in the same spot the entire match until someone dies.

Telling us to change our playstyles hurts the game.

So you admit you are part of the demographic doing this. Got it. Your opinion on this thread genuinely does not matter if you openly admit to face camping and/or tunneling and think it’s completely justified. Please get off of my thread

Idk why do people play re and not speed run it the first play better it's fun to be a little immersed

Absolutely not the same at all. There is no one else on your team in RE. You are the lone player. Everyone else is an NPC. No one else is relying on you to do the objective in that game

  • @DemonDaddy said:

We're they actually being useful or just hiding?

I find Immersion is a good play style for Survivors that don't have strong chase skills or observe the killer is efficiently ending chases quickly. The only drawback is when it's taken so far that killers get good regression out of it.

No I was in a SWF with my boyfriend and we did all 4 of the generators that were done. He and the David ended up getting out because David had a key. While my boyfriend was looping the killer I was watching Dwight and David go in and out of lockers in basement

    Hello hatchet bunny lady

Firstly I hope you are doing well

Secondly after reading your posts and your replys I can see this really effected you. I want to offer you a friendly hug and a GG wp.

It's not that hard to be respectful and say GG regardless of how the person plays in all honesty this game just tends to bring the worse out of people and I'm really sad you had to be on the brunt end of the frustration it's not cool.

All you can do is be positive and respectful and truly do not let this stuff effect you as bad.

Should it be happening no but unfortunately toxic nasty behaviour is highlighted by streamers so much on both sides that it's just how things are... you have to be the change you want to see.

    🐷💖

Thank you! I came from Dota 2, which if you know anything about is almost as toxic as LoL or CSGO. Even when I played Dota, I tried to have a PMA and take my losses with grace because it really makes a difference to me. When I came to DBD, I tried to bring that mindset with me. I enjoy saying GG to people, win or lose, because I enjoy playing DBD. Most of my games are a lot of fun, except for the occasional sweat squad lol. I really was just trying to be nice to this streamer and his friends and it’s a little disappointing that there are people in this community who go out of their way to be toxic.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

My advice: If you know there was some form of tunneling/camping, do not go to their stream.

I say this as someone who actively defends survivors but I also play killer so I am not blind to the fact that some survivors will use any form of tunneling warranted or not as a way to complain. If you did tunnel them and you know you did, do not engage, especially on their stream chat.

I didn’t though. The only thing I did was slug and I admitted to it. I actively went out of my way to tunnel because one of their teammates tier 2’d his first hook and I felt kinda bad about it.

  • @BioX said:

and im really sick of people throwing the word "entitlement" around so much, half the time seemingly not knowing what it means...

I went back and checked his stream. He and his friends were literally saying that they deserved to escape the match that I was their killer. I really wish I was exaggerating. Is that not entitlement or do I have the definition wrong?

  • @Jasix said:

Sigh. Why do people read end game chat and why do you care what complete strangers on the internet think of you? Play the game how you want to play and just hide end game chat - your enjoyment of the game will improve.

Because the moral of the story still stands: being toxic towards people because you lost in a video game is really childish and a lot of people on DBD are like that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244064/genuine-question-why-has-the-nurse-blink-bug-not-been-fixed-yet

I've seen this bug on many youtube video.

I've played maybe 20 Nurse games in the past few day and I've yet to encounter this particular Nurse bug. Thing is I started at level 0 and if it's add-on related that could be the reason why I haven't got that bug yet.

I don't think it's addon related because I change my addons on Nurse often. I mostly run the Kavanagh's Last Breath, Ataxic Respiration, Fragile Wheeze, Dark Cincture and sometimes Heavy Panting. Sometimes I go no addon nurse and I still get this bug.

This is McLean's response to that video

If they no longer use blueprinting for a majority of their coding, I wonder where all the bugs come from then? MacLean said from a manageability standpoint, their blueprinting and C++ are perfectly fine.

You don’t need justification, just do what you want....

But on the topic of Moris vs Keys:

How often do you see a 3 man escape via key? Probably not as often as you see teams getting wiped out by an Ebony Mori. But whatever, keep saying they are equal

well, in most of my killer games where the survivors bring a key, i go out of my way to prevent gens from popping so they can’t find the hatch early. if they get to 3 gens and someone has died, i might slug a bit so my pressure is kept up. the last time someone got a 3man escape on me was a long time ago when i had about 300 hours in the game. i’m not saying 3man escapes happen every time someone brings a key, but it opens up the possibility for a 3man escape which i personally think is ridiculous

  • @SimplyNotFun said:

i have played a lot of both sides and I can guarantee it’s not fair for survivors even from a 1v4 perspective. The killer can absolutely down people so fast due to anti loop and speed it’s disgusting. It’s not even really fun for survivors. I can understand why they need that key. 5 gens is actually a lot to do when considering the fact that they’re all squeezed into a small map. I actually got so upset with how close they were on one map Azarovs Resting Place that, for the first time, I actually posted a complaint on this forum about it. I have never seen 4 gens lined up one one side of that map before all within line of sight of the hill I was standing on. How are the survivors supposed to do their job? They can’t. It’s just ridiculous. Complaining about keys.... please stop. Moris are the ones that need to be removed from the game entirely. Do your damn job as killer and put people down. It’s practically being handed to you on a silver platter and yet people complain that survivors have an alternate escape when it becomes impossible to do their objectives?

you can complain about azarovs resting place all day long and how unfair it is for survivors when maps like haddonfield, ormond, midwich (granted the survivors have OoO), disturbed ward, and fractured cowshed exist. also, i should mention that they brought a grave of glenvale (saloon) offering, and i was playing nurse, a killer i only have about 100 hours on (I say only because nurse requires a LOT of practice to be considered good). i can't change my killer in the lobby, so i was stuck playing a killer that i wasnt 100% confident on. if i had been playing huntress i would've "done my damn job as killer and put people down", as you put it. do you sincerely think there's nothing wrong with keys though? i've been robbed of my victories on so many occasions because there's 1 gen left, the survivors are 3 genned and they're all on death hook, one person is dead but one of them has a key so they make a 3 man escape. is that seriously fair to you? i play almost as much survivor as i do killer now, and let me tell you, the ONLY time i bring keys is to adept. even then, i still do generators, go for hook saves, get chased by the killer, and be a general good teammate. you can't say that for every survivor who brings a key. also, the amount of keys i see in my games vs the amount of moris is ridiculous. i counted how many keys i went against last night. i played 15 killer games total, and 6/15 had keys. thats 40% of my killer games. my survivor games, however, were completely different. i think i played 8 swf games and maybe 4-5 solo, and NO moris. a couple of OP addons, but NO moris. not even a mori addon/perk. most killers dont have their victories "handed to them on a silver platter", and the ones who do typically are going against the average player when they themselves are god tier nurses, billies, huntress', spirits, etc.

Welcome to DbD, where people will attempt to shame you for using things they don't like. Enjoy your stay and ignore the haters.

Honestly it's the same with whispers. I like to KYF a lot with some really good friends, and they ALWAYS complain about whispers. I can understand how whispers is more annoying to go against because it legit does not have a counter, you can't hide from whispers. Still, is it bad to not want a game of hide and seek? Sometimes I feel like survivors don't want to actually have chases, they want to hide in a corner and wait until the killer leaves to do gens :/

  • @voorheesgt said:

I see them often enough to get irritated.

But yes, not nearly every SWF is the toxic bully squad type. However I think when people do complain about SWF it's because of those matches. I hate when they use OoO with coms. That's also toxic IMO.

I completely agree! I’ve gone against 4 OoO’s with a Midwich offering a handful of times, but at the end of the day I could DC if I really didn’t want to play that match. It doesn’t particularly frustrate me, but it does make the game unnecessarily more difficult.
