  • Solo Q players are absolutely awful at the moment for me.

I've always said it is pot luck. Just because you have 6 escapes doesn't mean that Solo Q is fixed.

  • Fast blood web took 6 years.

Option to pick an avatar and a banner took 7 years.

Just write down people's gamertags, make a note of what you want to say, and in a few years you might be able to say it to them.

  • I've self-K'd on first hook before at 5 gens... but only if it has been like 5 minutes, nothing is being done, team mates are terrible, everybody else is on 1 or 2 hooks. I think it is reasonable to predict exactly what the rest of the game is going to look like, so if I have the opportunity to get out at that point, I'm taking it.

I've never done it immediately because I didn't like the map or the killer. I think that running towards a killer and getting yourself hooked because you don't like one of those things, is definitely reportable, as it is simple throwing, regardless of missing the skill checks on the first hook.

Title. I have almost 2k hours in this game and my experience over the past couple of weeks has driven me very close to quitting.

I'm a killer main, and until recently won around 80-90% of my games, despite the fact the game (and devs) naturally favors survivors.

However as of recent, I'm running into EXTREMELY sweaty matches every single game. The survivors I'm going up against are P100 squads almost every single time I load into a lobby, and they play like literal gods every match. I'm talking the best of the best survivors who are ridiculously good at the game, all have exactly the perks they need when they need them, guess correctly on every single mindgame, make the correct macro decisions depending upon what my killer can do, etc.

It's just very frustrating to go from winning a nice amount of games and sometimes going up against a sweaty squad to going against a sweaty squad every single game. Either I get a 2-3k after a long slog of a match or I can't even hook anyone. That is the variety I get now as a killer.

The reasons this is not fair are obvious. For one, the game is extremely survivor sided. Nobody would dare argue against something as obvious as that. However, more importantly, and perhaps less obviously, it feels MUCH worse to lose as killer than it does as survivor. As survivor you only share 1/4 of the blame for losing, and so can easily deflect and mentally relax. Just go next. On top of this, survivor gameplay is much more relaxed and less skill-oriented. 3/4 of the game will usually be spent holding m1 or w. Meanwhile killers have to mindgame and macro to perfection from the start of the game to the end of the game at high MMR. If you lose, you have to watch 4 people gang up on you, so the pressure is higher. You were more involved in the gameplay from the start, and only have yourself to blame for losing, so it feels much worse. However, this isn't logical. The game is to blame for a large amount of losses in high MMR, since it's mathematically impossible for killers to win vs perfect survivors. It's, as they say, asymmetrical.

MMR is punishing Killers much harder than it is survivors. If you're unlucky like me, you're going to find sweat lords every match because the cap has been raised, meaning you won't be matched vs casuals any more.

I can no longer run my fun anti-heal loadouts because the survivors just bash gens and don't heal, running early with w as soon as they hear my TR. I can't run my fun chase builds because gens are so fast that no gen defense means a loss.

This is the worst experience I've had in DBD for years, and it's sadenning to see that BHVR plans only to make killers have an even harder time in future when we're already the underdogs.

Please, for the love of everything, save this game for me. Just let it be a party game and put me vs every kind of player. I want to mess around with newbies sometimes; I want to have some tough battles sometimes; I want to get stomped by perfect survivors sometimes. I don't want to get stomped 70% of the time, and struggle to barely draw the match the other 30%.

Whenever I play survivor I run the killer ungodly amounts of time with ease and escape pretty much whenever I want to if I try. Survivor is pathetically easy anyway, and you somehow made it even easier. Killer is the harder role, so if anything they should have a natural advantage.

Fix your game before you lose all your killer mains and survivors have nobody left to tbag.

"despite the fact the game (and devs) naturally favors survivors"

I just had to read that line to know that this was going to be a rant. Glad you put it near the start so I could skip the rest of the essay.

  • It took them almost 8 years to think of adding emblems and banners. Big meaningful updates will probably take decades.

  • Maybe something like self-care is more powerful if you have already healed somebody else? Bored of everybody in solo Q playing self-care and the game is 50% people hiding in corners healing themselves.

  • I play solo and take a flashlight 50% of the time (toolbox the other) and frequently get multiple flashlight saves in one match, I don't think this challenge is that difficult compared to some others.

Why are people who save with the flashlight "jerks" and "the worst people"? Am I missing something.

  • As a solo survivor player I'd love to see everybody else's perks. A lot of the time it wouldn't make a difference, so it would not be too unbalanced, but like you say in certain situations it would be useful.

The only issue is where are they shown? The other survivors' photos are already quite small. Adding 12 perk emblems to the screen and having them all big enough to make out would be tricky.

I don't know about you guys but i'm absolutely slaying with chucky. i'm completely destroying survivor group like i've never done before with any killer. he's super strong and fun to play. i feel bad for the survivors sometimes and give them the hatch. complete dominance. love it! He's a noob stomper too.

Yeah we know, you made two discussions almost within an hour, both to tell us how well you are doing.

If I wanted a killer to stay how they are because it was working well for me, I wouldn't constantly brag about how powerful they are, and how easy I find it to win with them. That might be the sort of thing that ends up in feedback when they inevitably decide what changes to make to him.

It's obvious by now that we survivors ask for way too much from bhvr. We begged for basekits and mechanics that will make killers weaker. M1 killers soon have to be deal with not only 3 gen changes but also save the best for last, sloppy butcher and more. We beg for reworks that also made Trickster worse and onryo worse than ever before. We're deeply sorry for this.

We're always blaming killers for picking nurse, blight, wesker but never question ourselves why. It's because of our actions that ultimately lead to this situation. Now we're complaining that we see too much of these killers but instead of promoting a healthy balance we keep nagging the developers for nerfs to M1 killers and perks that actually helps M1 killers to flourish during the game and now the 3 gen meta will also kill off more lower tier killers such as Trapper, etc.

I swear there's some killer reddit group somewhere where they come up with these fake "survivor" ideas for posts.

    "We're deeply sorry for this."

Cringe af whether you are a killer (most likely) or a self-hating survivor.

  • His size is a problem, he's too damn small.

Simple solution: make his ghost permanent.

OR drop a two foot tall survivor tomorrow. Let me play with the same height advantage Chucky has.

  • I stand by what I said. A survivor player who doesn't like Windows, because it makes the game too "ez", should stop using Windows if they want a challenge.

OP is basically saying: "A large number of survivors like something how it is, but I don't like it... so can you change it in a way that most survivors would like it less, but I would like it more?"

I think it is fair to call that out.

Us VS them is strong in this one. I dislike using it as survivor as well. But I have my own reasoning for that.

If you dislike using it that is fine, I never use it myself.

But we aren't posting on the forum volunteering that the most used survivor perk in the game be nerfed because we don't like it. We just don't use it.

I do not buy that a survivor would ask for a perk they use to be made weaker. I just don't, it makes no sense. If they think Windows makes the game too easy, they can just stop using it. I think it more likely a killer would post something like this.

  • Just unhooked a bot, I had a medkit and We'll Make It, and the bot started to self-heal.

I left the bot in the basement and 30 seconds later it was still healing, and the killer returned and downed it again.

A bit of code that lets the bot recognise what perks the real survivors are playing, and it works out what would take less time to do, that'd be handy.

  • Immediately after MFT gets a re-work, here come the killers pretending to be survivors asking that Windows gets a re-work.

What survivor who loves using Windows would make a post asking that the devs adjust it to make it weaker?

If you really are a survivor asking for a perk you use to be made worse (which I doubt) because you find the game "ez" and want a challenge - why don't you just stop using it.

  • Camp Crystal Lake would be cool if they ever get Jason. Some of the maps on the Friday the 13th game were great.

  • I don't care about his perks or his speed... but you can't see him most of the time, he is tiny.

Do you think if the devs added a two foot tall survivor that you could barely see, killers wouldn't have exploded?

i mean of course they want you to buy the new dlc to make money, it's obvious. It's still "feedback" that i would prefer that there was an option to just show the current rank instead.

Yup but that's free. Get your wallet out. That's what they want.

  • It's only empty if you don't buy the new DLC, if you do that you get a cool picture. Figured out why they've done it like this yet?

  • Most games end with somebody salty complaining or accusing somebody about something or other, welcome to DBD.

  • @awustzdn said:

    Nerf him.

We all know you're going to anyway, just get it over with.

They haven't got everybody's money yet. Once they have, the new killer gets a nerf, they start the promo of the next must-have killer. The DBDLC business model.

Devs did not change him at all. And he is not dying as well. His pickrate is pretty good.

They fixed bug and reverted his one buff to PTB version. And that's because he did not lose distance or speed whenever he missed hits. Killers just m1'ed after they missed tail attack because they did not lose distance. It was not healthy for game.

Except that, Xeno is still same killer we got. He is still chase monster. If you are good to use his power, you will not miss which means you won't be punished.

And i am getting Xenos quiet enough. We have +30 killers, at this point you won't see any of them so much. Maybe exception of Blight and Wesker.

All I can give is my own experience. I have played another 30 games since my last comment and I have not seen Xeno once.

"Devs did not change him at all." "They fixed bug and reverted his one buff to PTB version."

Yeah... that's the change they made after everybody bought it.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

They are just looking reasons to complain.

Like Xeno did not even nerfed, he is still top tier killer with very strong chase + map mobility. But people are calling him dead which is not true

Xeno might not be dead but I have seen it once in my last 50 games, so from my experience it is at least dying.

I don't blame people for pre-empting a Chucky nerf. Xeno came out, he was everywhere, super strong, survivors struggling to fight back, then the devs make changes, it becomes easier to play against, now you barely see it.

Why would you not be worried about hearing all the hype about how strong Chucky is, spend money on him, then in a month he gets a major change to make him weaker?

  • I made this suggestion about a year ago and heard nothing back.

If it takes as long as it took to get fast bloodweb unlock... we will get this feature in 7 years.

It has happened more times than I can count. Past 2 days alone it has happened 3 times

If so many survivors are trying to get you out of lockers that you need to make a forum post about it asking them to stop... maybe you are spending too much time in lockers.

  • If you can do it, and it isn't against the rules, go for it.

Your friends are the DBD equivalent of a medieval archer complaining about crossbows, who gets bullseye'd from a hundred feet mid-rant.

  • @adsads123123123123 said:

This is the most used perk. It's not just a noob info perk. Its usage is extremely high in high mmr matches, to the point where almost every survivor has it. Stats from a few months ago show it was the most popular perk (all MMR).

The strength of the perk is being able to avoid dead zones and immediately understand how to run a tile.

Your argument is that because lots of people use it, we need to make it less powerful?

The logic makes no sense. You have no reason to nerf it? You just... want to.

  • @RpTheHotrod said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3589603#Comment_3589603

Yes, happens every so often, and it's entirely up to the survivors if they want to be able to do that. The amount of 4 toolboxes, BNP, and +charges I've seen is pretty ridiculous lol. The killer has absolutely no way to prevent squads from doing that unless those survivors delay its use and the killer has Franklin's, but usually they just run to one of the 3 gen spots and unload it all right off the bat.

Even if only one survivor brings bnp, permanent 10 seconds off is still stronger than the original form. Originally, killers could recover that generator.

I haven't ever seen four survivors take four brand new parts and use all four on one generator to save 40 seconds. If you see it "every so often" you are very unlucky.

  • @RpTheHotrod said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3589594#Comment_3589594

Correction, brand new part was buffed, not nerfed. Now there is a guaranteed minimum of 10 seconds up to an entire 40 seconds that can be permanently removed from a generators regression potential. That's hand over fist stronger than it's original form. Originally, a killer could chase someone off a gen and get it regressing and eliminate what good it did. Now once a survivor uses bnp, it's a permanent penalty on the killer that cannot be removed or reduced. Having an on demand -40 seconds on a generator is absolutely huge. If that generator ever regresses to 0, then the moment any survivor touches it treats it as if they had just sat there for 40 seconds working on it.

"Having an on demand -40 seconds on a generator is absolutely huge."

How does Brand New Part save 40 seconds on a generator? Do you mean if every survivor brings it and uses it on one generator? Has that ever happened?

  • After complaining about Prove Thyself, the devs reduced its strength.

After complaining about Brand New Part, the devs reduced its strength.

After complaining about Dead Hard, devs reduced its strength.

After complaining about Made For This, devs are about to reduce its strength.

They released Xeno which destroyed survivors so bad it was the focus of every topic for like 2 solid months.

They're just about to release a new killer that some pros are saying is one of the strongest to ever be put in the game.

"This game has become SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO survivor sided it's BS." 😂

  • From the two videos it looks sus. Should record the whole match and send it in for the devs to look at. If they say "action has been taken" you will know, and if that happens, let us know.

  • Uninstalling a game and being glad to be rid of it... then coming onto the game's forum to complain about the game, seems a bit pointless to me. You are DBD-free, go enjoy yourself.

  • I want to spend the least amount of time possible in post-game chat. It's a cesspit. It's Mos Eisley Cantina. You close your eyes and mash CONTINUE until your keyboard is dust just to avoid getting into a conversation.

    Good luck with it though.

They aren’t, you just don’t like what I am saying. Same with those showering you with upvotes. An echo chamber indeed.

Objectively (having no opinion on most of the subjects you discuss) your topics are overwhelmingly negative, and it is just untrue to say they aren't.

  • Most games are not a team versus one person, so it is going to feel more personal when you lose. It sounds like the problem in this case is toxic survivors, so just file this under "survivors and/or killers are toxic" with the other thousands of topics.

  • Don't see him that much anymore. They got everybody to buy it and then made it less strong (as I said they would). Onto the next OP DLC killer, get your wallets ready.

  • Already bored of the "well if I can't camp I will just have to slug" huff mentality.

Do it then, so what. Would much rather be on the ground with a chance of crawling away or being healed than being hooked with some drooling camper staring at me.

  • The best advice is from the person who said play Blight or Nurse. If something is not working: alter your gameplay, try a different character, different perks, add-ons, offerings. Change your strategy.

Don't demand that the devs change the game and just sit and wait for it to happen. It might never happen.

  • Play Bond while you get used to the game, great perk for finding gens to work on, seeing who needs healing, finding somebody to heal you, figuring out where the killer is from seeing who is being chased etc.

  • @JudithMorel said:

xeno is annoying to play against rn. will be fun after a nerf.

They will nerf Xeno as soon as they hit their target sales of the DLC, guarantee it. Then move onto making the next poweful killer for the next DLC, wait until everybody that buys that, then nerf that, and so on.

  • Call my cynical, but with DLC killers, I feel like they release them at their most powerful, get everybody to buy them, then nerf them and get ready to release the new DLC killer with the poweful perks and abilities, and so on.

So will they ever make Freddy as powerful as he used to be when everybody used to play him? Not if people aren't gonna pay for it.

Xeno will get nerfed before the next DLC killer is available I predict.

in the first match the questionable survivor jumped into the locker right to nearby survivors, waited for the killer to come and bodyblocked the other survivors. unhooked right in front of the killer and bodyblocked the survivors so the killer can down them again. the questionable survivor was accompanied to the gate by the killer and not hit once in the match. in steam the killer commented on the questionable survivor "+rep helpfully <ingame name>"

the second match the questionable survivor set down an item in front of the killer when only two survivors are left. the killer downed the questionable survivor and let him wiggle free. the survivor ran to the last known location of the other survivor. this repeated over several attempts since the other survivor was good at hidding in lockers. at the end the questionable survivor was given the hatch.

Both incidents were recorded in specatior mode, since I was already dead at the time and therefore from the perspective of the others and from that of the questionable survivor. I think both incidents are consistent with "Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage"

These examples sound pretty clear cut and there's not really any way to misinterpret them as anything but survivor and killer working together to get other survivors killed.

All I would add is, was there no farming going on throughout the game that you hadn't noticed? In my example in an earlier post three of us were farming and one person wasn't, he got hooked and accused us all of cheating, we were just farming.

Wait to see if you hear back about it, if not, tweet the devs and offer your video evidence. The game is better for everybody if these players aren't in the games.

Would love to see the video, why don't you upload it to YouTube and link us.

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3537937#Comment_3537937

My question is general. Is there even a penalty for "Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage" since it is neither against the EULA nor the TOS.

There would be a penalty for genuine working with the killer to get other survivors killed yes.

It gives that as an example of reportable behaviour under 'unsportsmanlike conduct' when you go to report somebody.

  • I've been playing semi-regularly since about 2019. It's about as unenjoyable now as it ever has been.

Survivors are just quitting when they see Xeno.

  • My first thought is, were they farming not teaming?

I remember a game where the first thing that happened was the killer came up to me and nodded, I tbagged back, and we went around dropping pallets and smashing them, then another survivor came over and joined in, and then another. We worked together to get bloodpoints.

The last survivor spent the game hiding and doing gens. He didn't understand what was going on.

At one point, after the three of us had been hooked twice each, one survivor pointed at the survivor who thought it was a 'real' game. He got hooked, hooked gain, let go and escaped.

In the post-game chat he called us all cheaters and teamers and reported us.

My point being, sometimes games are not actual competetive games, the killer is playing or farming.

Only once or twice in all the years I have been playing have I seen a survivor actually work with the killer, and I confirmed it by seeing Twitch chat of them talking about it.

There won't be a ban without concrete proof.

  • Nurse or Spirit, you don't really have to explain their powers, it would just come across watching it and look really cool in a movie. Somebody like Doctor or Clown it's not immediately clear what it is they are doing with their powers so I'm not sure the audience would understand what was going on.

  • Part of the problem is people's logic.

"I slug because survivors tbag at gate/hatch."

"I tbag at the gate/hatch because killers slug."

What you mean is you are slugging this group of survivors, because a survivor in another game tbagged at the gate/hatch. You mean that you are tbagging at the gate/hatch because a different killer in another game slugged you.

You are just carrying it on and taking something that happened in a previous game out on somebody new, and the cycle repeats.

  • People on the internet are ***holes when they can be anonymous. The ***hole factor goes up when the competition of online gaming is added. It goes up a notch further when the game in question's entire existence is based on us vs. them.

So it is just a perfect storm to witness toxic behaviour.
