I'm honestly just curious and like to see the creativity everyone comes up with. Does anyone have any killers (or survivors) that they've created, essential an OC? If so, tell me about them, their perks, story, power. Hey, I'm just having fun.

I have a couple of fan made stuff like this in m tarred discussions if you’re able to take a look there & check out everyone’s ideas

  • [KILLER]

    DESCRIPTION; (short & sweet)

Once a caretaker for a cemetery in the living world, the man loyally protected the property until his death in which he was summoned by the Entity to continue his duties by killing every survivor to enter his property.

    Chapter; Death Is Impatient

    Killer; The Caretaker

Power; Haunted Stopwatch; once spotting a survivor and in pursue of them the Caretaker is able to start a stopwatch where the survivor will be instantly injured if not hit once in the time the stopwatch lasts. The survivor will then become broken for 90 seconds. The power can not be used to down a survivor. If the survivor is hit before the stopwatch ends, their aura will be revealed to The Caretaker for 5 seconds even if not in chase as long as they are within 28 meters of the Caretaker. This power has a cool down of 15 seconds and the timer lasts 30 seconds.

    Weapon; Shovel

Appearance; dressed as a butler with clocks for eyes and plenty of timers attached to his suit in various places. Face would look almost like a zombie; very decomposed yet there was no mouth and a hole where his nose would be. Hair would also be slicked back and he’d be wearing a cross necklace. His actual eyes would be in the palm of his hands.

    Perks;

    • Thinned Patience; You become obsessed with a survivor; If not have hooked at least 3 survivors before 4 generators are completed, if the next survivor you hit is your obsession they will be instantly downed

    • Belief Powers Thee; you move 10% faster for 10 seconds whenever 3 generators have been completed & the generator closest to you will be temporarily blocked for 40 seconds

    _ 10-15-20%& seconds

    • Tick Tock; Once all 5 generators have been completed you see the aura of the hatch within 35 meters of you

    _35-40-45

    Add ons;

    • Broken wrist watch; can see the aura of survivors 2 seconds longer
    • Rusted Gears; slightly speeds up timer
    • Pristine Pocket watch; can down a survivor once the timer stops if not hit at all during chase (can only be done once)
    • Oil Can; moderately speeds up timer
    • rusted piece of a stopwatch; the cool down before using the timer again would be 10 seconds instead of 15
    • Bloodied piece of a stopwatch; the timer can be used again immediately after it stopped
    • Watch 1505; can down survivor after the timer stops once if they’re not hit at all during chase (can be done twice)
  • haven’t done one of these in a while haha~

    [KILLER IDEA] PLANTS BITE BACK

Being a product of a lab experiment gone wrong, this particular flytrap began to grow at alarming rates and small insects are no longer able to fill it’s stomach. Having eaten every scientist in the greenhouse the deadly plant began to take matters into its own hands, therefore attracting The Entity.

This would have four flytraps; one where the head would be, stomach, and both left and right hands. To strike its victim, it would clamp its flytrap around a victims torso, arm, leg, etc.- whatever’s in reachable distance to make the survivor injured. It’s mori, however, would be the stomach’s flytrap extending from (of course) the stomach, clamping itself around the killers neck where it violently rips out the jugular.

This killers ability is the power to reproduce smaller flytraps to injure or send survivors into the dying state whenever said survivors get too close. The killer is able to reproduce once they have injured at least one survivor as it is able to use the DNA in their blood to make offspring. The catch, however, is that the offspring cannot attack the survivor’s DNA they have in them.

Luckily, the killer is able to have an add on that allows the offspring to be unable to recognize those survivors. Survivors can have add ons that disallow the killer to make more than a certain amount of smaller flytraps, too. The killer would start with ten after collecting the survivor’s DNA, but this add on will allow there to be two less. The killer can have another add on, too, that allows them to be able to start the round with two flytraps.

    PERKS

Teething - Allows the teeth on the flytrap to be sharp enough to down a survivor with one hit after all 5 generators have been completed.

Friends not Food - Instead of eating the flies, the flytrap uses them to it’s advantage. By going up to any lampposts or lights, the killer can collect a fly that’s passed on to any survivor that has entered the dying state. With that being said, once unhooked that survivor’s aura is revealed to the flytrap for three seconds.

Starvation - If unable to hook survivors at least three times before the fourth generator is finished, their aura will be revealed to it for three seconds.

  • ~ [SURVIVOR IDEA] - QUARTERBACK

Dressed in his team’s colors, built and prepared for a rough match whenever he discovers he’s at the wrong stadium. Now he’s just a stocky football player fighting to escape alongside the rest of the survivors.

Figuring he’s a football players and they can tackle and have both defensive and offensive plays, this survivor would be given a perk that allows them to tackle the killer if they are close enough, stunning the killer for a few seconds to make a quick get away. As he’s dressed in his football attire, it would be a lot harder to down him. He’d have to receive multiple hits (maybe three) before getting finally downed by the killer. Finally, like Meg, this particular survivor would have a similar sprint burst perk as he’s been trained to have more endurance and speed.

Alongside perks, this survivor also comes with add ons. For example, a good add on would be Gatorade. These would grant an extra percentage of speed and controlled breathing, even when exhausted. Another add on would be his helmet, which seemingly got lost running away from the killer. This item would allow the survivor’s chances of getting hit lessen (smaller hit boxes) for the duration of the round as it serves as protection.

Anyways, I haven’t much else to put on here. This was sort of an after thought, so this post is pretty limited on details and explanation. Sorry!

No one will quit. They’ll complain up and down this forum but won’t quit. Dbd is addicting. Watch.

I’m sure some wouldn’t quit as you said after investing so much time and money into the game, but if people are really passionate about this hate for the hex, they’d have some sort of strike and stop playing the game at least temporarily.

i think having every survivor have a different fear for this mechanic would be too much to ask of the devs. and as for the crows example, survivors are just skins. Every survivor plays exactly the same aside from what perks they use. having certain survivors afraid of crows would make certain survivors stronger or weaker against the killer for no real reason.

Yeah, one can dream. Fixing bugs is already too much to ask for 😂

I find matches as soon as I press the button on ps4. There's very few killers on their so we can just get in a lobby almost instantly. Longest time I had to wait was twenty seconds. I know. Hard to believe. But I find it horrible

I call that lucky, lol. I’d play as killer so much more if I didn’t have to wait!

  • @goat10em said:

My son being brand new and waiting 30 minutes for a killer match at rank 20 proves their concerns about new players having fun are false.

No matter the rank, unless you’re a survivor (sometimes you have to wait even then), you’ll probably have to wait at least 30 minutes to be called into a trial. 🤷‍♀️ Kind of impossible to get short wait times for killers. As for “concerns,” there never really was any. Devs just want quicker ways to make money. That’s why every 3 months new killers are released.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

I bought all DLC in 2018. Been a day one since. I am strongly considering quitting this game after this.

These Doc changes are completely not needed and the ruin changes are a joke. WHY are you nerfing weak killers? Why did you just nerf a perk that pretty much proves gen balance is a joke? Oh, because you think people wont stop playing. We will.

Dbd is too focused on trying to appeal newer players so they stay and pushing out new cosmetics, killers, and survivors every 3 months. 🤦🏼‍♀️ If they were actually listening to the real supporters, they’d know that bug fixes and avoiding things like this was more valued. They’re busy trying to gain that $ but they’ll see soon how bad they screwed up once the money flow starts to decrease.

  • @JC316 said:

It's a short term gain, long term loss. They're looking at keeping new survivors but they're going to drive killers away. Lose 100 killers and 400 survivors will have a longer queue time. Lose 100 survivors and not much happens.

I agree. Killers already have to wait so long before finally getting in a trial, it’s like the devs are purposely trying to drive them away.

first off, its on hulu right now and i totally recommend it. secondly, to your point about fears, what about an add on that showed them hallucinations of their killer or something. like how ace was released with hag so if youre playing as ace, you can trigger hag traps but the killer doesnt get notified, it just makes the ace think its a hag, or if youre playing as david, you hear the huntress lullaby or something like that.

the only issue is that not all survivors have a specific counterpart like that. Id say dwight and trapper (sees traps on the ground), meg and hillbilly (hears chainsaw), and claudette and wraith (hears bell) would make sense, but then jake has no killer to associate with. Same thing with ash.

The idea of having them have fears is a great idea, in the movie the "Survivors" hallucinate what their fears are and then are just fine but terrified afterwards, so i think your uneducated suggestion is spot on. theyd just need to figure out how to go about implementing it. Idk if having the fears stop them from working on stuff is necessarily a great idea because theres already a lot going on with this power and i dont want it to get too convoluted but having them hallucinate fears is great!

I see where you’re coming from about survivors with no killers, so I’m thinking that maybe their fear would she somethings to do with their back story or past before The Entity’s realm.

It would give a wider range of possible fears and the fears could possibly change out every so often, depending on the survivor’s habits in game. For example, if a survivor’s phobia is…let’s say crows, every time they come across one they would attack the POV of the survivor which could potentially alert the killer. A survivor may be able to get around that, however, if they manage to escape the killer’s grasp or does not draw the killer’s attention an x amount of times, the fear being replaced with a new one. It would keep survivor’s on their toes and would disallow them becoming used to their certain fear, therefore unable to always get around that fear.

Fears like these wouldn’t just be useful for the midnight man, either. Freddy could possibly be able to harness a similar ability if survivors are sucked into the dream state, and any killer could be alerted of a survivor freaking out about a crow, fire, etc. if they’re close enough to them.

  • Love the idea! I think this killer could come with a sort of refurbishment for the survivors, them gaining a certain fear. The killer could have an ability where the survivors start to have hallucinations of those fears that would absolutely terrify them, disallowing them to work on generators, healing, etc., temporarily. I personally haven’t watched the movie, either, so this is an uneducated suggestion for the killer.

  • ~ [KILLER IDEA] - THE PUPPETEER

So obsessed with his own creations, he’s decided to become part of the plastic himself to wreak havoc on those who never believed in his work, eventually catching The Entity’s attention.

This killer would (obviously) look just as plastic as some of the puppets and dolls they’ve made in the past, except the plastic had been melting for quite some time. Half of their face is melted off, showing the only bit of humanity this killer may have had; part of a skull. I’m not too sure on what this killer would wear, but I’m assuming something theatrical and fancy, but obviously would be dirtied and ripped in many areas.

The killer also comes equipped with a weapon; puppet and doll heads stitched together that seem to always stare at wherever it may be facing, creating a long and circular type of weapon costed with hot wax, much like The Oni’s when he is in his demon mode. When smacked upon a survivor, not only does it injure them, but the wax burns them. To keep from entering the dying state due to being burned, a survivor can find a nearby well to soak themselves in. The well does, however, alert the killer whenever any survivors miss a skill check much like a generator.

Moving on from this killer’s appearance, they also inhabit special abilities that take away from any other killers. Walking around their map, which may be something along the lines of an abandoned theatre, a survivor can find various abandoned dolls whose eyes seem to follow them around. In truth, some are to stay inanimate and creepy, but some are not to be. When the killer is near a doll, he can become them, abandoning their original form to stalk, confuse, and jump scare survivors. Unfortunately, though, the killer would be unable to damage any survivors as the doll.

Moving on, his mori could be something along the lines of pouring hot liquid plastic or wax all over the survivor’s body, burning them to death and suffocating them as they wouldn’t be able to breathe through it.

Love the pun! They’ve probably made a lot of killers and survivors, they’re just waiting in line. There’s new content every 3 months.

  • ~ [KILLER IDEA] - THE SOUNDS OF A SIREN

They sound beautiful, singing such music to lure a man or woman in, but in the end they look absolutely horrible with large shark-like teeth that smile sadistically as they spot their prey.

Horrible how? This particular siren would be terribly…bloated. Rolls upon rolls and a caked face to match, it’s obviously true that these songs only attract their food, not lovers. I’m not too sure of any particular details regarding what the killer may look like other than this, but I don’t believe a mermaid type of siren would be a good fit for dead by daylight. Especially since not all maps would have any bodies of water.

When these killers are near, they can sing (their ability) melodic sounds that would make a survivor go in and out of focus various times until the killer stops singing or walks away. This could (potentially) cause skill checks to be missed, confuse the survivor, and make any processes go slower than before. While singing, any survivors near wouldn’t be able to hear a terror radius as well, deeming it possible for an easy game of cat and mouse.

Speaking of abilities and such things, every killer needs a weapon. This killer in particular could do well with broken instruments made of bones or rusted material that would be joined together to make a sword or something long and sharp, perhaps. It would fit well with the story of a siren, anyway, as instruments do make music.

Lastly, their mori would consist of more or less, cannibalism. It’s nothing new to the dead by daylight world, but different animations and killers wouldn’t be so dull. For example, the killer could seductively examine the survivor before tearing the bottom part of their shirt off (where they torso would be) before eating them or ripping their skin off.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/117153/new-character-ideas

It would be nice if most of the female characters weren’t so ugly. Kate is okay, but meg has no eyebrows and looks like she does meth when she’s not stuck in the fog. Nea looks like a lesbian who sells door hinges at Home Depot and enjoys cook outs with the gals and chopping wood.

    😂😂

You’re very right! As for Nea, however, I think she’s supposed to look like that? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe she was an edgy teen who had a knack for stealing and doing vandalism. She looks like the product of that, anyhow.

  • ~ [KILLER IDEA] - GLUTTONY

We all remember the story Hansel and Gretel, right? A witch with a glorious house made of and filled with sweets in which one can’t resist…that eats children. I believe a killer similar to this sadistic witch who enjoys feasting on innocent children would be a good addition to dead by daylight.

Her map would, of course, have her infamous delectable house made of sweets and gingerbread, but that’s not all. Possessing the ability to force downed survivors to eat certain drugged sweets, the killer would be able to keep them in her sight for a certain amount of time, permanent terror radius throughout the rest of the trial, and maybe more. The killer, however, can run out of these sweets. They may be able to restock, though, by retreating to a nearby vending machine or cotton candy machine…something of the sorts.

The killer’s mori might include; stuffing the survivor with sweets before dragging to a nearby boiling cauldron (which any map would spawn with presumably) to cook or ripping their jaw off, proceeding to decorate the corpse and/or mouth with sweets. The possibilities are endless. Upon the mention of cauldrons, if maps were to spawn with them, survivors may go to drink handfuls of the hot water to cease the affects of any candy they might have been force fed.

Of course, the killer would have an amazing look, as well. I picture an albino elderly woman with overgrown nails and a horrifying expression…maybe a face that would be made of icing, it hanging down as if dropping. Although very ugly, much like any stereotypical witch, the killer would (maybe) wear an outfit with rotting candy stitched or sewed onto it, having a sword made of candy to match. Perhaps candy cane or a large lollipop, who knows. Again, the possibilities for this killer’s look would be seemingly endless.

🍭Can you count how many times I mentioned candy? 🍭

  • ~ [KILLER IDEA] - SHADOW MAN

“You’re in my world now, not your world…and I’ve got friends on the other side ~”

Friends on the other side mean the “Shadow Man” who has the ability to literally turn into a shadow and lurk. This ability wouldn’t be useful for open maps, as a shadow can’t be protested everywhere, but it is good use to stalk preoccupied survivors who are around the crumbling walls or inside a building.

Obviously if it can’t be used in an open area, then it isn’t the killer’s final form. I would picture him looking sort of like a buff Rake and/or Slenderman combined (creepypasta if one didn’t know). It’s hard to explain, but the killer would be freakishly tall and human-like, but a disgusting looking human with obvious feral instinct nonetheless. No face would also make it obviously completely silent, therefore sort of mimicking a shadow. Shadows can’t speak after all, and are only a silhouette of a person.

The killer could also have a weapon that is shadow like, or simply a demented sword where shadows of the dead (souls perhaps) would rise and fall around it, as if unable to leave the sword but wish to. Kind of like how in “Suicide Squad” where Katana explains how her sword traps the souls whenever it was responsible for the kill.

Anyways, the killer could also possess the ability to shape shift in their shadow form, and therefore can mimic what a survivor would look like. This would allow survivors to gain a jump scare and wouldn’t notice the killer stalking them. It would make for a (most likely) easy down or good chase.

    😂😂

Or maybe a demented shark boy? 🤔 I wouldn’t mind seeing that!

  • ~ [KILLER IDEA] - VOODOO DOLL

I was thinking, after watching Child’s Play, that there could be a killer that could make the survivors numb or inanimate like a doll…but that would literally be too overpowered and the survivors would ultimately be useless. So back the drawing board…and what if there were a killer that has a special power who can poke and prod their obsession?

Obviously a killer would be too overpowered if they were able to mess with every survivor, but doing it to just the one would be fine. Especially since The Obsession is usually toyed with, for obvious reasons, anyway. Why not throw a voodoo doll in the bunch and call it a day. The voodoo doll wouldn’t be used to down a survivor, as then it would be too overpowered, but it can mess with them. For example, the voodoo doll could be used to make a survivor make random loud noises to potentially alert the killer of where they may be if close enough, be able to see that particular survivor if they are within a certain range of the killer, potentially jump scare them, and more. All of this would (potentially) be able to cause one to miss a skill check for whatever they may be doing. Of course, the voodoo doll could have more powers as well, but I’m unsure of what else as I wouldn’t want an overpowered killer. There’s already so many.

Anyway, the killer who would be able to possess this ability could possibly be a witch of sorts that in their past that has performed black magic and other things. I’m not too sure if what they could possibly look like, but I’m picturing an Africans American female with various brightly colored patterns on a dress that would almost look like a Kimono, neon colored untamed hair, and a stitched smile to match. Their weapon could also be various bones wrapped together with black bandages that people who would make voodoo dolls use if it’s bad intentions.

If one couldn’t already tell, I’m going off of what some voodoo dolls look like, so I think the voodoo doll should look exactly like the survivor who is the obsession for the round. I’m not exactly set on anything regarding the killer’s look, anyway, but I liked the idea of having a killer who can use a voodoo doll.

Again, I’m not too sure about this idea, but I feel as if the developers were to see this and put their minds together they could make something work out.

  • ~ [SURVIVOR IDEA] - DEATH WISH

Another thought, one that has often crossed my mind, but I always figured could be done easily with the right perks. Still, I decided to write some details on it to get it off my chest.

These survivors, in my mind, would be somewhat against surviving. For example, instead of working on generators, cleansing totems, etc., they would rather bait the killer and save their friends. It’s already a risky deed, which is why I say it’s like having a death wish, but I know so many survivors already do this.

Still, these survivors with this mentality could have perks or add ones that would take away the killer’s attention away from the current survivor target may be chasing. For example, an add on that would be like throwing down Poppers that would make a loud noise when stepped on by the survivor and alert the killer. And sure, the killer can ignore it, but if they do they would be stunned temporarily after downing or injuring another survivor.

These survivors who have death wishes could also have a perk that grants them the same or a pretty good chance at survival. For example, they may be able to take more hits before getting downed or may be able to put up a fight that may also temporarily stun the killer.

Again, survivors coming to save other survivors or purposely bait the killer is nothing new and will never be new, but I think a new survivor (with the right killer) could have have the perks listed that would either allow a better chance at escaping or giving them blood points. I also know there is perks that are similar and such things, but I thought I’d list what was on my mind anyway.

  • ~ [KILLER IDEA] - THE OTHER MOTHER

Whenever I had first gotten Dead By Daylight, I was very surprised there were not more killers. I’m not even sure why I was expecting many, especially after watching so many streams and YouTube videos.

With that being said, random shower thought; The Other Mother from “Coraline” or something similar that has taken inspiration from the oddly chilling movie. After watching various horror movies in my time, Coraline not even being one, I have to say the movie puts some to shame. I can’t explain why, but I hate it with a passion and therefore it’s done it’s job.

The killer that takes inspiration from the movie could, of course, have button eyes, with the name “The Other” if not directly copying off of the movie. This killer, in my mind, would probably be very human-like and dress way too fancy for The Entity’s realm, as if trying to imitate the perfect person…just with their button eyes of course. Their weapon could be some type of sewing needle, as well.

One who has watched “Coraline” would know that the Other Mother has made a separate realm or universe to please Coraline, therefore disallowing the girl from leaving the property. If she tried, it would disappear and leave nothingness, though if she kept walking she’d return to the home. A trap or power of this killer could be similar; if a survivor steps on a trap next to the gates and/or outer walls of the map, they could be teleported back to the middle or somewhat close to the killer and they would be alerted of this. During the teleportation, the survivors could be temporarily blinded with a similar white light that shows the nothingness in the realm once there is nothing left. The mori could be along the lines of sewing button eyes into the survivor and carving a smile into their face as the Other Mother had always made sure everyone in her realm was permanently happy…or smiling.

An alternate killer using the same inspiration and (maybe) trap powers could look exactly like the Other Mother (or a dead by daylight version of her), but transforms into a large spider when desired to do so (I haven’t any ideas for what could trigger the transformation) as she has on the movie. The mori could be her in her spider form wrapping the survivor in her webbing, suffocating them.

I haven’t anything else for this particular idea, but I assume it’s already kind of a lot. Taking long showers whilst thinking about dead by daylight equals this, I guess. I would love some feedback if anyone were to see this and look it over.
