I was playing it earlier for an hour and a half and just decided to put it down and step away. Partly also because of the frequency of toxic players going out of their way to ruin the event for you. It just hasn’t been recently.
Also does anyone else have SERIOUS fps issues when going against a huntress with the crypt tv skin? Or is it just a switch issue?

I would gladly take an LGBTQIA+ character with open arms but not at the cost of pandering or tokenism.
It’s definitely a point of contention and a thin line to walk on when you are developing a character who “has” to fit into a particular marginalized community. Not that I have bad faith in BHVR, but it’s something to note.
At the same time, I also don’t see how we can rule out earlier survivors outright not falling somewhere in the spectrum within the queer community. Albeit I haven’t read most survivors lore, but I don’t see why it can’t be something explored or touched upon in future times or archives.
While some would argue that these characters already exist with a single notion of queerness, it’s also important to recognize that plenty of queer people don’t live openly or come to terms/realize and come out later in life.
To me, it’s ultimately about tact and substance. I don’t just want to see the most flamboyant representation of the queer community because they think it would get me to main them and spend my coin.

Honestly I don't know what they could do to circumvent the issue. I've decided to just stay away/play less until the hot fix.
I *tried* to play the game yesterday after the release, also a switch user, from 12-3 and then again from 7-8 and was only able to actually play a successfully smooth match not even half of the time.
The other half I spent in penalty limbo. About 2 hours. Now I'm a rank 7 from rank 4.
I wish they could do something about the de-piping since it doesn't seem viable for the game, and players as a whole, to remove DC penalties completely because now I'm more frequently getting matched with low rank players all around.
-
I took a couple of hours off the game when the game wouldn't stop crashing on me and DCing me.
I turned it on a while ago, had a fun and amazing match just for the game to crash right before I escaped. Now I'm sitting here with another 30 minute DC penalty and my second de-pip. I can't.

yup, crashed once on the new map as Leon against a Nemesis
i got the normal “an error occurred” message and i had to unplug my ps4 because it literally froze on that screen
What a nightmare

As a switch player, I can confirm the new map single-handedly causes crashes.
I have crashed three times while playing on the new map, one crash when playing as Killer (Nemesis, obviously I'll be playing as him), and the other two crashes while playing Survivor (David and Jill). I was able to play on the new map for a couple of minutes until my game closed itself because "an error occurrred".
I was also able to play a match on Autohaven and that worked out just fine.
Thanks for letting me know! I just played a game with a coldwind offering and had no problem this time. Sucks that we can't even play the new map.

Hello, fellow Switch Player! I froze in every match I had, also very bad lag. However I only got the new map so I'm not sure if its an issue with that map for me or a general one :( Also saw other players randomly dc too
Resident Evil players its (usually sometimes maybe) not that bad!
Hello, fellow switch user! That's interesting! I think all of my DC'd games were also on the new map. I wonder if bringing a different map offering would help.

Apparently many ppl experience this issue just like you so no ur not alone they again managed to broke their game like they said in live stream "pretty good job so far"
Well, I guess, I'm glad to know I'm not alone... But it also just makes me want to sit out of the game until it's resolved. I was so excited to play too 😭😭😭

It's pretty bad on the switch, even more so since I play it handheld with the joycons. Often times I can't tell if I'm lagging or if the fps is just that bad... Or both.
This is more so a switch console isolated issue but playing this game with joycons sucks.

I'd love to see Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a survivor.
Considering how they were able to incorporate perks into the game that coincide with the action part of RE with Jill and Leon's blind/stun perks, it would be really cool to see how they do so with a whole bad ######### that slays monsters.

Truthfully, before having experienced playing with a toxic 3 person SWF, I failed to see how toxic a SWF group could be. I'm not really a gamer, the few games I played regularly before DBD were pokemon and fire emblem (I'm also a Switch user, so I never see the chats) and while I understood how toxic multiplayer games could be, I had no reason to think DBD could be like that.
Then I was matched with a toxic 3 person SWF.
They farmed me. They'd bring the killer to me or do something to trigger a loud noise notification; miss skill checks, vault, jump in and out of lockers or drop pallets. I honestly just thought they were REALLY new to the game. I was still unhooking, healing and finishing gens when I could if I wasn't in chase.
It wasn't until I got hooked for the first time and all three of then came to my hook and started vaulting and jumping in and out of lockers to attract the killer, then unhooked me when the killer got there just to body block so I could get downed that I realized what they were doing. I know, I'm slow.
The rest of the game just kept going downhill but I still finished the game cause I didn't want to de-pip for DCing. It was the worst experience playing DBD I've had yet. Thankfully, this was my only bad experience with a toxic SWF.

I started with Claudette, then once I got better at the game I switched over to Elodie.
I went backwards with characters as a new player and just finished leveling Jake and Feng, who I main pretty often now.

Either of these 2 I know it's like 2 perk changes but lol
Curious to know why you don't have Resilience and Quick and Quiet switched in those builds. Though I'm sure it fits your playstyle.
I'm just used to seeing Quick and Quiet with Lithe and Dead Hard with Resilience.
-
My current build is Adrenaline, Sprint Burst, Kindred and Iron Will.
Once the RE chapter drops I'm gonna play around with a few builds I have in mind;
Locker build (Counterforce, Inner Strength, Flashbang and Iron Will)
Heal build (Built to Last, Resurgence, Botany Knowledge and Iron Will + Med Kit)
Martyr build (Flashbang, Mettle of Man, Borrowed Time and Iron Will)
Diversion build (Diversion, Blast Mine, Red Herring and Iron Will)
P.s. I love Iron Will lol
-
I think the "problem" with self-care isn't the perk itself but the playstyle of the person using it. If you're using it responsibly than it can really change the trajectory of a match.

Personally, any game or mode in a game that requires first-person pov doesn't work for me.
I don't know how to describe it other than having vertigo when I play first-person. I find it so disorienting, especially after playing.
-
So excited to play the baddie herself; Jill. Easily in my rotation of mains once she comes out.
But if we get this Leon cosmetic or him in a tank top, I'd drop all of my mains for him.

This was cleared up yesterday by dbdleaks. One dlc is the new resident evil chapter, the second is a dlc pack that contains all original killers, and the 3rd is a dlc pack with all the original survivors.
Does that mean we're not getting legendary skins/cosmetics for Jill, Leon and Nemi? Or are they bundled into the DLC already?

What's interesting to point out is they're still in the process of reworking older maps
Shortly after the woman says that, she mentions how there will be two new maps this upcoming roadmap (including the Resident Evil map)
That makes me speculate that we're getting another licensed chapter down the line
I wonder if it could be the All-Kill map, they did say they weren't ruling it out for future content.
Athough it probably would be too short of a time window for them to make it.
Fingers crossed for a Candyman chapter with a map.

Although I would assume the timing wouldn't add up, considering they have probably already been working on the second new map for quite some time now.
Fingers crossed for a chapter with Candyman and a map to coincide with the film's release.

I would guess it's unfortunately just about the next chapter DLC. If it was Resident Evil related and big they would probably have showed it because they generate more hype and had a keen audience there watching.
I think if it is related it's likely only cosmetics.
Would be very happy to be wrong and it's actually something big.
I remember seeing a leak out there that there are three DLC's; presumably the base RE DLC, cosmetics and a third one.
Do you think they would split up cosmetics into two DLC's? Or do they usually sit on the content uploaded until they're ready to roll out the DLC?

@GoodBoyKaru said:
its just their normal plan that they cant talk about upcoming dlc, nothing special. it wont be a surprise killer because we know their roadmap plan- 4 killers, 5 survivors.
That disappointingly makes sense. Sigh. I didn't know what to expect cause it's my first anniversary.

Excuse me you forgot the important one??
I don't know if I could handle him sweaty...

I would prefer if instead of dealing one whole health state immediately, the zombies did damage similar to how The Trickers needs lacerations of X amount to deal damage.
Maybe the zombies interacting with you for X amount of seconds deals damage until a health state is gone? It would be cool if they incorporated a push action for survivors to get the zombies off you (like crushing Victor), just so it offers counterplay to being deadzoned by them and Nemesis.
The trade off could be that if you push the zombie off of you before it deals a health state you get afflicted with the sloppy butcher effect and the damage dealt doesn't fade unlike The Trickers lacerations.
But overall, I also wouldn't be upset if they left it as is when it goes live. I think it's a great new mechanic that spices up the game. Plus it's also kind of hilarious.

If this isn't a skin I get for Leon, they can take him back
