still can't read anything you write, you just have a way with words but backwards

i quote you for all except:

"the purpose of this post is to put forth a suggestion that lowers the currently huge information gap between solo q survivors and swf"

which is why i made this post

the rest is just me replying to all of your comments individually

just gonna respond to this one line at a time because you seem to be all over the place

so you're saying if a killer didnt know kindred was in effect he would attempt to bait the hooked survivor into giving the wrong call out and change direction when out of view and kindred would show the juke and make this impossible?

no im saying that if a killer changed their mind on where they were going seeing it happen through walls giving a swf more information would be strong, its unlikely that killers would ever juke or change their playstyle like bbq, 99% of survivors just power through the aura reading and act like nothing happened

you're basing an argument against a universal change on lack of information?

im using an argument based on previous knowledge and experience of how survivors react to the most common killer perk bbq

the term 'universal change' and 'doesn't know' don't mesh.

bbq pretty universal, and 99% of survivors don't know or don't care

how would the killer not know about a universal change?

would most react if they even knew in the first place

am i missing something? is my top sentence wrong?let me know.

yes your missing an example of another perk providing information that can be countered or mindgamed but most people not bothing and giving the other side free information to work with

also this doesnt work on midwhich

yes it does its midwich and, most hooks on that map 5:4, are at corners or have the courtyard doors to lose los behind

"happy with your specific scenarios" yeah this is much more productive than:

you physically didn't ask for a specific scenario I met your terrible wording with a blanket statement that should have covered what you wanted your statement is interpreted as why would swf be better in the scenario than without basekit kindred and my answer of more accurate information should have had you ask about a specific example not be petty about it because you can't think for yourself of a scenario using my blanket statement

"no im saying that if a killer changed their mind on where they were going seeing it happen through walls giving a swf more information would be strong, its unlikely that killers would ever juke or change their playstyle like bbq, 99% of survivors just power through the aura reading and act like nothing happened"

then what's your problem with it?

"how would the killer not know about a universal change?"

    thats what i'm saying

"yes your missing an example of another perk providing information that can be countered or mindgamed but most people not bothing and giving the other side free information to work with"

i feel this reply turns a blind eye to the reason i made this post so i will post it here for you to consider:

"the purpose of this post is to put forth a suggestion that lowers the currently huge information gap between solo q survivors and swf"

"yes it does its midwich and, most hooks on that map 5:4, are at corners or have the courtyard doors to lose los behind"

idk about you but most of the time when i get downs in midwhich the closest hook is in front of a room

"you physically didn't ask for a specific scenario I met your terrible wording with a blanket statement that should have covered what you wanted your statement is interpreted as why would swf be better in the scenario than without basekit kindred and my answer of more accurate information should have had you ask about a specific example not be petty about it because you can't think for yourself of a scenario using my blanket statement"

the page with my exact wording is now on the previous page so i can't quote the part where i ask you to provide a play that contradicts what i said. But unfortunately this site deletes my unpublished comment if i leave this page to copy it to paste the exact wording for you to see for yourself but rest assured everytime you mention it i go back and look at it and reaffirm that i did ask you to provide a play. i am not sure if you arguing this for its own sake or what. it seems like you would like my first comment to you to be "put up or shut up" as everything is too subtle.im not sure what your getting out this. i definitely asked and i definitely reread my original comment to make sure i asked and i did. i asked for a play to enlighten me. is that not asking for a play?

I am someone who uses Kindred in every single game I play as a solo queue survivor and trust me just knowing if a killer is camping and or which way they are going.

These can help me massively by either knowing I can/should commit to a generator due to camping/teammates looping the killer by the hook.

    or

Knowing if the killer is coming in my direction(Usually revealing if they have BBQ or not) so I can hide/leave the area so I don't get caught which is invaluable against the Nurse and Deathslinger where stealth is king.

the purpose of this post is to put forth a suggestion that lowers the currently huge information gap between solo q survivors and swf

i already typed this out before so i'll post it here:

"hey hes camping me just stay on gens" is about as good and seeing the killer aura 5 feet from the hooked survivor across the map

"hey your the closest, get him" is about as good as seeing how far you are from the hooked survivor relative to your teammates

    are my rebuttals to your:

"These can help me massively by either knowing I can/should commit to a generator due to camping/teammates looping the killer by the hook.

    or

Knowing if the killer is coming in my direction(Usually revealing if they have BBQ or not) so I can hide/leave the area so I don't get caught which is invaluable against the Nurse and Deathslinger where stealth is king."

arguments. they are even in the right order without editing

    alright here you go

indoor map, survivor is put on hook by killer, based on where he is moving they can see the killer is going after X generator, but the killer decides to go to another generator and because he is behind the wall the swf give bad information to their teammates and the survivor on the gen he was seemingly going after wastes time, and the survivor that he caught out from being on the gen he actually went to takes an early hit and takes chase

indoor map but with kindred, survivor is put on hook by killer, due to aura reading through walls the survivors see the killer change direction to go after the other gen instead of the one it looked like they were going for first, swf have more time to spend on their 2 gens while the 3rd guy prepares to take chase with a reasonable head start

in most maps and all indoor maps being able to track where the killer is looking and going after hooking a is pretty impactful and can be used to great effect to play efficiently as a swf team and bully killers harder because now they can look through walls after they get hooked

    happy with your specific scenarios

so you're saying if a killer didnt know kindred was in effect he would attempt to bait the hooked survivor into giving the wrong call out and change direction when out of view and kindred would show the juke and make this impossible?

you're basing an argument against a universal change on lack of information?

the term 'universal change' and 'doesn't know' don't mesh.

how would the killer not know about a universal change?

am i missing something? is my top sentence wrong?let me know.

also this doesnt work on midwhich

"happy with your specific scenarios" yeah this is much more productive than:

    you: "you're wrong"

    me: "tell me why"

you: "don't have to because you're wrong"

    me: "tell me why"

you: ""don't have to because you're wrong"

    (continues indefinitely)

I'd only have the survivor aura reading part baseline for solos.

The killer aura reading part being baseline would be too strong.

ah yes because a swf will only use one or the other but never both to make way better plays, my bad I never thought of that,

devs will not buff solo queue without buffing swf because they will only buff survivor as a whole or not at all they said it themselves but if you missed it the first time I said it here it is again just in case, they would buff both and it would be very strong with communication

you could use kindred to make some of those plays and the point of this is to show how it lessens the information divide between solo and swf.

the fact that you couldn't bring up an actual situation is telling

it wouldnt affect swf that much if the devs feel that way then they should add it to all survivors

Maybe not the Insidious Bubba, but we played against a Basement Camping Bubba tonight, and they were PC Rank 2. My friend got downed first, was carried towards the basement on Lery's, wiggled off, got downed again, then this time ended up in the study basement. The Bubba was running Mad Grit, Agitation, and Iron Grasp. When I headed for a potential rescue, I could hear the terror radius fire up, so my friend told me to work on gens and not attempt the save. One of the two other teammates (who were playing together but not on coms with us) went to save him and got downed. Their teammate (who had BT) went for a rescue and managed to get their friend out, but mine didn't make it. He went back to the basement, struggled to the end, and gave us time to finish all the gens and get three of us out. I was stunned that the killer was a Rank 2 -- my assumption would have been that running that build and playstyle wouldn't work, but if it wasn't a one-off match for them and is their regular build/gameplay, I guess it must work more often than not.

you do come across the odd harcore meme commit in red ranks no question but it is generally a yellow rank strat

yes because approximant information is just as good as perfectly seeing the killer and other survivors through walls, genius

"hey hes camping me just stay on gens" is about as good and seeing the killer aura 5 feet from the hooked survivor across the map

"hey your the closest, get him" is about as good as seeing how far you are from the hooked survivor relative to your teammates

you're being disingenuous arguing it goes much deeper than this but if you think other plays are possible please enlighten me on why auras in this exact situation are so much better than call outs

If they are still working on the gen chase them, down them and slug. Maybe even proxy camp since you have a hook and a slug. It really isnt that difficult.

like ive said a few times now if they have bt and ds up as they do they do the gen in front of me if they just have ds they camp a pallet or vault untill they think they have enough distance to make it if i come back

  • @bjorksnas said:

But like devs don't want to buff solo survivors and swf separately they want either buffs for all survivors or none, so saying only solo queue survivors get free kindred is never gonna happen

  • undying, ruin, nurse's and you choice of stbfl, sloppy or your fav info perk with the ghost and bone clapper is my fav

Ok even if they have bt you already have the unhooked downed why cant you let the unhooked go for a bit. Why do you have to double hook instantly?

because there are working on the gen an inch from my face while i am hooking the unhooker and i know they will hop right back on the gen if i go away and its stupid to decide to wonder around looking for something to do when there is someone right in front of me?

So why dont you lunge instead of going for a grab? Do you not think of these solutions or is this exaggerated to make DS seen stronger.

i said what happens if you go for the hit just read it again yes i did think of this i typed it in the long post and the previous post.

  • depends on what rank u are looking in. you're not going to see it in red ranks

I mean it's true though. If they unhook in front of you it's a 1 for 1. there is no way to physically not down either unless desperate measures,bt, and dead hard in play. So explain how you couldnt get one down and how everyone made it to the lockers and magically has ds,ub, and sg. Doesnt sound realistic does it.

i can hook the unhooker the problem is the recently unhooked survivor will just walk 2 feet to a gen and work on it in my fov 2 feet away while i am hooking the unhooker. if i grab they ds and unhook during the stun if i hit they run to a vault or pallet and you know the rest since i already typed it all

Lol if it was actually effective at dealing with tunneling, I'm in favor of every change in the book. However what people want to do is gut the perk, make it even less effective than it already is and basically make it much easier for The Killer to tunnel. This is all under the guise that some killers get hit with it despite not tunneling, but no one wants to talk about the fact that killers can easily circumvent the perk altogether even when they're tunneling. Not to mention the fact that you can be tunneled twice yet the perk is limited to one time only. It's already easy to circumvent and bypass, and people want to make changes that make it even easier to do so. So yes eliminate all of the possibilities outside of being tunneled but then it has to be effective at being anti tunnel.

i want deactivation conditions: if you touch a gen, heal yourself or someone else, touch a totem, or the killer hooks someone else it turns off

if you think this is gutting we can add buffs too like : double triple or infinite time limit, can activate twice, no skill check, double stun time ect.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799983#Comment_1799983

all of this is canceled because unless they have resilience or desperate measures if you hit then during the unhook animation they have to start over. Giving you ample time to hit the unhooked and get a new hook. But remember ds,ub,sg. Most likely dh right? So they wouldnt have those in their perks. It would be a hook trade. Also you could maybe even get a grab.

Once again I'm not saying your lying but under the circumstances it doesnt make you believable with how specific this is.

thats such a cop-out im done with this convo

next time just say "its too long" and "naw"

  • keys and moris are just moving the finishline to closer to yourself while the other team's finishline doesnt move. people will be mad it wasnt a fair playing field but at the end of the day stuff in the game is in the game to be used and if its op thats not on u

Oh yay, I'm on the right track then! I always damage a gen before entering a chase, and I'm trying to master the mind games at a pallet. I find that "I'm All Ears" is wonderful for looping, but I get stuck between blood warden and bitter murmur because I use coup de grace and oppression! And I'll set up priorities, I always aim for at least 2-3 hooks (which for my rank takes work, so I'm proud of myself if I can do it!) Thank you so much for the advice and I'll practice the basics :)!

NONONONOONONONONOONONo don't kick a gen before a chase i mean like get them off the gen the default regression times are awful after you kick it the ratio of survivor time working on a gen to time after you kick it is 1:4 dont do that unless u have pop or something

  • every killer is played a little different and perk loadout can change things drastically without knowing any of that. the basics are

learn how to moonwalk at tiles where they cant see you ie if your at an L wall and they just rounded the corner and they will vault in 1 second walk backwards and get your hit on the side they are vaulting to.

get survivors off gens is priority number one you can get that hook later you can get that hit later you can get that down later you cant stop that gen from popping later defend your gens

a strong sense of priorities is the main thing

stopping a gen from popping is better than getting a down which is better than getting an injure which is better than getting a deep wound which is better than wondering around looking for something to do

    hope this helps

Didnt you say they unhooked in your face how did they hop in a locker then? If they are doing a 1 for one you hit the unhooked and slug. Then go for the other. Might as well eat their DS since you have a slug and can tunnel them later. Also now its soul gaurd? Even with he new totem meta I hardly see it.

I'm not calling you a liar or anything but come on seriously just a coincidence just sus but that's me.

this is every game with toxic DS survivors all roads lead to DS and/or losing

1.healthy survivor goes for unhook in my face

2.i injure healthy survivor and they use speed boost to get away after they finish unhooking

3.newly unhooked survivor works on gen 2 feet away from where this is happening

4.a. if i go to hit them when they have bt they get a speed boost to start a new chase

4.b. they dont have bt so they wait by a pallet or at a good fast vault angle and wait for me to start a chase or leave so they can work on a gen

5.a. when i am almost close enough to get a hit and end the chase they jump in a locker to DS and start another chase so i cant slug

5.b if i chase them they vault or drop the pallet and use that distance to get to a jungle gym with a locker to hide there when they lose the chase. if i dont chase them they just sit on the gen

"Didnt you say they unhooked in your face how did they hop in a locker then?" lockers are often close by hooks and with the bt speed boost if they are cocky they can always get to a locker. also i am recovering from the swing i just took on the unhooker. you got to take pressure where u can.

"Might as well eat their DS since you have a slug and can tunnel them later." a killer's time is 4xs more valuable than a survivors a 5 sec stun +another 20 seconds to catch up assuming no vaults or pallets. 20+5=25*4=100 seconds of gen time a gen takes 80 seconds if you do this once good survivors will win ever time if you do it twice any team with a heartbeat will beat you. i would rather chase someone else and watch for mistakes out of the corner of my eye.

"Also now its soul gaurd? Even with he new totem meta I hardly see it." what does the totem meta have to do with anything? yeah now its soul guard. the killer counter to DS is slugging, survivor counter to slugging is UB, killer counter to UB is hitting them right as they get up, survivor counter to getting hit after recovering is SG.

"I'm not calling you a liar or anything but come on seriously just a coincidence just sus but that's me." coincidence? liar? if you play red ranks you will see this no doubt im not lying this does happen. as for coincidence thats not what that means so i looked up the definition and pasted it here: "a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection." these events i am describing are not remarkable as they are common and they certainly aren't without apparent causal connection. this isnt chance at any point it is people choosing to do all of these things at every point

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799611#Comment_1799611

So down and slug them what's keeping you from doing that?

them hopping in a locker, them getting picked up by a nearby hiding teammate, the DS,UB,SB combo ect

  • @chieften333 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799870#Comment_1799870

The killer would have downsides for not downing the survivor, I threw some out there on the post, but basically the killer decides if they want to risk getting those downsides against a good looper.

the speed boost and lunge range increase wouldn't be significant, but enough to be noticeable. So chases aren't impacted too much.

I'm just throwing ideas out there to get a ball rolling on this subject. I don't necessarily believe they should be implemented the way I thought of them.

you're coming really close to making the obsession icon a "tunnel me" sign

  • @chieften333 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799837#Comment_1799837

Dying light encourages you to ignore the obsession, it would be more like play with your food and coup de grâce except only when you chase the obsession.

so one player would spawn with significantly less chase protentional and as such be downed faster than everyone else? and this would be base kit? why?

  • @chieften333 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799813#Comment_1799813

But being an obsession within itself does nothing, all it does is tell you certain perks are in play.

I know that those perks do have drawbacks but I think being an obsession should actually have an impact.

not nothing it tells everyone if the obsession is being chased but it sounds like your talking about making dying light base kit

  • all killer and survivor obsession perks have trade offs like this

    except DS

  • existence if hatch+ no definitive win condition= the only way to win is to slug if you don't know where the final 2 survivors are

  • pallets and windows are pretty balanced

  • 1.get distance

    2.break line of sight

3.try for jukes ie running back toward the nurse whenever you think they will release the blink and reversing when they arrive at their new location

  • @Parallax said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1797994#Comment_1797994

No, seeing the killer if you happen to be looping near the hooked survivor would be OP.

maybe just dont do that because it hurts your team and kills hooked teamates. also what would they do with that information? not get off their gen because they know they wont be able to get the save?

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1796110#Comment_1796110

Why are you chasing the recently unhooked survivor again?

because i already hooked another survivor and they are trying to unhook in my face 3 seconds after hooking

  • its only good on a few killers ie. nurse, hag billy, bubba and demo otherwise its just not that good

even then a perk slot for 5 uses of anything isnt that good

  • because MoM is a meme, BT is a relatively hated anti tunneling perk and SG is widly hated at much as DS in some circles and thats the newest one.

  • @Parallax said:

I like the idea, except seeing the killer's aura is probably too strong as basekit.

It would likely remove the scenarios when someone dies on first hook because everyone thinks someone went for the save, or whoever went for the save gets chased but no one knows. As a bonus it gives extra information about other survivor's whereabouts, further closing the gap between solos and swfs.

seeing if the killer is facecamping is too op?

  • @Enrage_Rabbit said:

Yeah why not give Survs unbreakable and borrowed time as a base kit too? Would be cool and funny for the killers. (irony off).

because UB and BT arent bonuses that are naturally granted to swf unlike the effects of kinderd

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1796081#Comment_1796081

First I want to say a jungle gym has meaningful co uh interplay it's an eequal opportunity to outplay for both sides. Myers can be 99 and pop while close to end a chase instantly. Trapper however can use traps to zone or end a loop so still.

    so? whats ur point?

  • can't wait until every other power use isnt just victor spawning waist deep in the floor unable to move

  • he is comfortably A tier

i like playing him most of the time

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

And can you believe killers want the perk nerfed?

@Bard Tell this poor soul how badly you want DS nerfed.

everyone is fine with DS as an anti-tunneling measure

only survivor mains are ok with DS as 60 seconds of invincibility while they finish gens in front of the killer and hop in a locker when they lose a chase

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1795771#Comment_1795771

So by that logic nurse is m1. Her blinks dont down people.

using your power to get to get the speed boost you need to get the m1 is a bit different. while pressing m2 alone wont damage survivors as spirit or nurse its not really comparable to true m1 killers like trapper and myers as you can just appear right behind survivors with no chase potential and with little meaningful counter play from survivors

  • wraith may be tied with trapper for weakest basekit in the game but with ghost and even a bone clapper i can be nearly unbeatable

  • m1 killer means if you couldnt press the left mouse button you couldnt get hits/downs. Or are forced to only m1 to get downs for large portions f the game. especially killers almost always down with a basic hit as opposed to a chainsaw, hatchets or that bat that oni has

billy, bubba , huntress ect. arent m1 killers

plague, legion and trapper are m1 killers

  • unless they have a power than can make better use of another info perk i use discordance. for doc and huntress i use bbq as they uniquely benefit from it.

which slowndown perk would i get the most use out of? pop, corrupt, ruin. or do i want to try my luck with a power heavy build? mobility killers benefit more from ruin

are there any synergy builds to use? either with their power or 2 perks that make eachother better?

1.taking sloppy with nurses as a stealth killer is a solid choice.

    2. any hex and undying.

    3. tinker and any mobility killer.

4.the classic nemesis and pwyf for killers that can one hit like bubba and myers.

5.limited time high power killers like oni or plague with infectious fright are always great.

6.haunted grounds with clown and trapper is the funniest thing ever when they break it the millisecond before you get the first hit.

miscellaneous: M & A on myers is a main stay. shadowborne on nurse is an obvious choice. unrelenting on hag and spirit helps a bunch. zanshin tactics on doc.

special consideration to stbfl. will i be downing people with mostly basic attacks? do i have a way to minimize hitting the obsession? do i have space to bring rancor to do this artificially? 45% reduction in hit cooldown is wayyyyyyyyyy better than you think it is. taking stbfl with demo or hag is a no brainer

or you could just meme it up.

honestly as long as you try new things and try to stay away from the awful perks you will make some good builds

    awful perks:

beast of prey, furtive chase, fire up, monstrous shrine, overwhelming presence, remember me, spies from the shadows, unnerving presence

if you are using these you will disappointed

    Nerfing? you are joking right?

The reworks of some maps suck ass so bad, the areas are so big and empty, barely a few places to loop or use pallets.

Devs are clowns, instead of doing a rework to all maps and disabling bloodlust for the killers, they do a "test" and fix a few map, they are only making the game more unbalance of what already is.

Death slinger has always been ok, huntress too, the only thing that it needs to go is the pink hatchet addon, is a joke how many u can get for leveling the huntress, i got 16 from lv 0 to 50. that's some serious bullshit.

they shouldnt delete iri head it should just be hard capped at 1 as in it shouldnt work with hatchet number increases
