  • Well, it's been especially bad lately. And since most of them try to hide through anonymity, the number of killers who avoid anonymous matches has increased. When you're a survivor, you can't choose a killer, which is a problem.

  • For now, Cheetah should be gone.

What I want is a mechanism where the killer's actions can increase the survivors' tasks. Injuries to survivors is one example, but there are cases where the theory of trying to complete the generator without treatment does not act as a deterrent. Therefore, if the killer can tunnel to force one survivor to leave early, that's what he wants. There are many situations in which it is not effective, but that is aside.

The Cenobite box provided a good sample. Many killers require a system in which both killers and survivors can choose between tasks.

  • BHVR has contradicted itself by stating that MMR does not necessarily match a player's skill perfectly, and that it is kept secret because it can be used as a tool for others to mount.

Rank is already a decoration, prestige is unreliable, and the lack of a standard to compare your skill with others makes the soloQ experience particularly miserable.

I also think it's a good time to disclose MMR.

  • I haven't confirmed it properly myself, but it seems that when a player with a winning streak as Sadako connected to the Asian server and played, the gate opened after just the third game.

When I heard that, I thought it was quite possible. This means that there is little awareness of the completion of generators among international survivors, and simply by overcoming this, it will be easy to keep the killer away.

Same so my definition of a win is the same.. Regardless of what you just tried to vomit out my statistics stay the same. Again you miss the point only the killer can dictate the pace of the game.

The point is, won't killers complain the same way as survivors if they are reverted to version 6.1.0 or earlier? So I said that's fine. Let's stop there and stop asking each other to improve the development, and let's just compete with what we've been given.

Same I play both I actually used to have to try to win as killer back then. I think out of my last 500 games I've lost like 20. By loss I mean not a 4k.

My definition is according to management. So 2k is a draw and borderline. That's enough. Hatch thinks it would be a good idea to give it as a gift since it would be a waste of time. Still, the killer wins.

No they aren't they are exactly the same lol. When did you start playing like 2021. 3 gen meta wasn't even a problem before they super buffed killer and I'm not saying a killer buff wasn't warranted but they gave them 3 base kit strong perks.

Yes, it's okay for you to think so. Don't worry about me. I actually did that back then, and I don't know what other killer players would say, but I'm fine with it.

Of course, the condition is that there will be no bubs or nerfs in the future after reverting to before 6.1.0. Then many will no longer be shouting about buffs and nerfs, and will mainly be digging deeper into tactics. wonderful.

And since you said that the killer buff caused the 3gens problem, if that problem occurs in the future, it will be 100% the survivor's bad play. That's a blessing. We both no longer need to make excuses, so we can only be grateful. I love harsh environments and hate sophistry.

And I play both Killer and Survivor almost equally, so I have no complaints at all. Sometimes it's an advantage, sometimes it's a disadvantage, but I accept it.

    Yes, everything.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3668532#Comment_3668532

My point is. Many killers saying survivors are in best spot because of all the buff survivors get.

So I only have 1 question. Do killers want to go back to pre 6.1.0 when they get 10% less kill? If not, that prove current survivors are not the it best state.

If so, I welcome it. The killer's camping tactics are more ferocious, the survivors let go of the gen early considering they will be hook grabbed when going to the rescue, and the killer has an easier time cornering the survivors with STBFL.

Survivors will be more likely to get injured since SB will be reduced at the cost of more DH, and Sloppy Butcher will not be nerfed.

The killer will 3gen kicking many times, so it will be a match against the skill of the survivor. Above all, it is the outcome that the survivors wanted, so there will be no further changes, and no one will be able to complain. Killers don't hesitate to use all kinds of tactics. I think it's wonderful.

  • If STBFL, hook grab, 3gen all go back to normal, and there's no RBT nerf, I'd definitely go back there, right?

they dont care about us having a good time. they just want to win 90% of their games without having to earn it. survivors are just killer punchbags these days

No. Survivors who do a decent job are always winning and losing. The other day, there was a live clipp in which three survivors survived against the singularity, and since both the killer and the survivors were all good, it was a close battle, but in the end the killer was at a disadvantage.

The match is always won or lost as long as the survivor does what needs to be done. Even if you often lose a little, if you work hard, you won't keep losing.

yes. So your idea itself is not bad. I think it would be nice if all the existing survivors expressed their intention to surrender and the game ended if the killer wanted to accept it.

  • Obviously a survivor sided map. Only top-tier killers can barely turn advantages.

I think the problem is that when you said "advanced survivors" you meant "some survivors who are good at the game," which is a normal thing to say, but, most people who play DBD would think that "advanced survivors" means "all of the survivors at the top of the in-game ranking system."

The way you wrote it was fine, but because of where you posted it and because of how other people on this website use those words, it seemed like you were talking about something else.

I think you're pretty good at normal english. The problem is just that some communities have slang (words that they use different from "normal english") and I expected you to use the slang instead of the normal english word.

I'm really uneducated when it comes to slang, sorry.

I'm really curious to know why i should NOT tunnel someone out if that help me to win the game

Let's say one survivor has 2 hooks and he's the obviously the weak link in the suvivors team, another survivor with one hook and two with zero hooks. If i find the one with 2 hooks, why i've to say "hey you know, i'll chase the other don't worry" ? I don't think he is going to sit in a corner doing nothing and waitin his turn to be killed, he is going to do gens or other actions to win as well.

So why i should not tunnel someone ? why i've to respect a fake rule saying "you're not allowed to tunnel at 5 gens?" or other craps like that ? Are survivors working on a gent at time and don't run away when i move closer ? No they are not doing it.

Your role is to repair gen and escape, my role is to prevent you to repair gen and kill as many i can

Truth. In the first place, a game over at 5 gens is impossible unless it is the survivor's fault. Because the HUD always shows someone trying to complete the generator. If not, the survivor is clearly at fault.

"at the top level" yeah which is 10% of the player base. do you even know that most dbd players are casuals and a lot play solo? balance decisions should not be around " top level " because top level is broken and always will be. do you watch tournaments? "top level" killer vs top level survivors and THE NURSE always wins not even with 4 slowdowns. a top level killer who plays ghostface got a 3K on the best team "elysuim" in the world right now.

few days ago on the 2 best teams faced off and on the nurse set Nurse 3-4K every match. did you even see the showcase that Otz showed? about a wraith main who says he 4K every match while also being afk at the start of the match? and when he faced the best team in the world yea he lost, but after a long boring 30min match.

i've always said it and will say it again. slowdown perks need to be removed from the game "except corrupt". make Dead lock base kit, No Way Out base kit. and run 3 good chase perks.

The tournament is a one-shot match. That's not always the result. Generally speaking, this game tends to be a one-sided match where either the killer or the survivor wins, so it's better to examine multiple matches as a whole. I also wonder if you took tournament regulations into consideration.

  • An advantageous map for survivors who know how to loop. The map rework didn't do much.

I'm sorry you don't know how to loop or predrop. Sure, I go down fast against a cracked Nurse/Blight/Billy, who doesn't? If you're not being chased, saving, healing, or DOING GENS, you're the problem.

Probably the best solo survivor has ever been. My teammates can see what I do and I see what they do it helps a lot. 40% escape rate but for me I think it's closer to 50%. I think solo needs a bit more info to further closing the gap to SWF but overall I'm very happy with the state of the game on survivor role.

As long as there are these survivors, the future is still bright for survivors. The system is such that the more survivors with the ability to act, the more advantageous there is, but it's really unfortunate that there are many survivors who want the opposite.

A reply to a video posted in another thread showed just how bad many Survivors are, at least in this forum.

Overall Chapel is a good and balanced map, but there are 2 things I would address:

    1) This doesn't spawn in every game (it usually doesn't appear), but this particular main building window should be changed or removed, it is far too safe against most killers:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KZHA55I067Q8/chapel-good-window-png.png

    2) It's usually not an issue, but occasionally if the shack is facing a certain direction and you get a certain maze-tile right next to it, the windows can be easily chained together and it's an obnoxiously strong setup for survivor. This is a prime example:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/19A4P60JXURI/image-2024-03-04-140737550.png

As long as neither of these occur, this is a perfectly fine map. Size is good, loops are fair, perfect balance between not having too much clutter while also not being too open.

And of course I had to say hi to Maurice while I was here :)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3PQETDK2GLPR/image-2024-03-04-135802294.png

Yes, but this is the only big problem. If you don't have this, it's a good map. Keeping in mind that this is not the case, the balance is good.

  • Congratulations!

  • The arrangement of lockers at Lely Memorial Institute is also quite uneven. It seems that the time has come to completely overhaul the map design so that it is evenly spaced, including hooks.

Sure but if a killer has 60+ % killrate across low and high MMR, I think it's irrefutable that they are in a good spot.

    Unless suicide is involved.

  • Not only me, but when someone brings No Mither, I love everyone to point fingers and pretend to blame them.

  • As long as every don't skip completing gen, there won't be much of a problem for the survivors. As long as there are no kids who waste nearby pallets and turn the area around the gen into a danger zone, or who are too obsessed with the chase and prevent other survivors from completing their gen, we'll be fine.

I 100% agree the biggest issue with solo queue is & always has been teammates & thats not something that can ever actually be fixed even if Mmr was the best system in the world you'd still get games where survivors are either goofing off, paying zero attention to the game or having an absolute melt down & looking for a way out of the game for the most stupid of reasons.

Between that & hard tunnelling solo queue has one hell of a rough time in many a game!

However there are still some who play the team game, I will 100% play for the team in every game & do gens, save when needed (at the right time) take aggro (then probably get tunnelled out for it obviously because well "I asked for it") & i'll sacrifice myself to get others out if I believe they deserved to get out (but only if I believe they will get out so many gift the killer a 3k in end game that should've been a 1k)

I only play solo my escape rate last year was around 60% now its around 45% (including the sacrifices to save others) & I mostly play adept (all survivors) or with full intel builds.

I wouldn't say the game has zero issues & survivors need no help but solo will always in many ways come down to who's on my team, who are they playing for & what's their mentality today.

I think if we had two more people like you and me, we could get two or three surbvivors out to gate. You may have experienced such a match.

If you somehow manage to only wear a pair of speedos, I’ll never hurt you (unless you want me too😉).

Big deal, BHVR must needs to provide shirtless skins for all male survivors right now.

  • It is a clearly defined map where M1 Killer is at a disadvantage and Nurse and Bright are at an advantage. M1 Killer basically cannot win against survivors who try to complete the generators on both sides of the unique building at the same time.

  • A map that tests the survivor's awareness of completing the generator. Survivors are at an overwhelming disadvantage if they can't figure out where and how to complete the generator, and can't move in time with the killer's movements. If the survivor is not at fault, this is slightly tough map for M1 killers.

  • A well-balanced map. Even the M1 killer has room to compete, and the loop is relatively unbiased. However, if the survivors lack the awareness to complete the generator, they will quickly become overwhelmed.

  • A map that may be advantageous for killers in Nurse, Bright, and possibly Spirit. However, there is no doubt that the overall advantage is for survivors. A map where the balance of advantage is easily influenced by the survivor's loop skills.

  • This is a map that most killers are not good at because the site area is vast. If the survivor properly plans to complete the generators at both ends, the gate will be energized at a considerable rate even if it is a nurse.

I don't mean this to be rude, is English not your first language? You keep using words in a way that makes me think you learned English in school, not as a native speaker.

I ask because the way you said your initial post, it's written like you wanted to imply that the average escape rate for all survivors above some skill level is 60%. If english isn't your main language, i could totally understand you not knowing thatbtou accidentally implied something you didn't mean.

Anyway, I want to make sure I understand what you're saying. Are you saying the much simpler poijt that there are some survivors out there, somewhere, who have a 60% escape rate?

It's true that my English is bad. If the expression is incorrect, please feel free to point it out.

There is something hidden behind the average. Although this is just a comparison between top players, I don't want people to forget the fact that there are survivors who are working hard to increase their survival rate even in the midst of a terrible soloQ life.

My guess is that some of the top 5% of survivors have a survival rate of 50% or higher. This is simply because the number of people who fall exactly at the average value is the largest number of all people, and in reality there is very often a wide distribution from top to bottom. It might be easier to understand if you imagine a 2d6 die roll. Only 1/6 of the total falls under 7.

I don't think more crouch perks is the answer, maybe learn to loop, learn to stop unhooking while the killer is few feets away, learn map design ( and almost every map is survivor side ), learn how to work on gens instead of tryin to troll the Killer because "my favorite content creator do it, i will do it myself screw my team mates" and so on.

The times of the "survivors rulebook" are finally over and those made up stupid rules are just garbage, both side play to win, if tunneling is the best and fast way to win then i'll do it. And no, a cruch perk won't change anything at all until people learn how to play the game, there it will be always rescuse under the hook while the killer is there, people doing boons, people hidin in the locker the entier match and more.

Yes, really. If you really want me to stop tunneling, I'll give up on completing the generator from the survivor's side, so why don't you chase it together, killer? All survivors have to do is present it. However, there is no way for a killer to know that survivors are always like this. That's why killers usually look for efficient play. That can't be helped.

This is a horror game. Everyone laughs when I say that, and I laugh too, but in any case, it's still a horror game. But the fact that everyone is laughing shows how light-hearted the game is for the survivors, rather than scary at all.

  • @Pepsidot said:

Well the obvious thing is to allow survivors to see each other's perks, items and addons. Like DBD mobile. But in an ideal world they would go a step further and reveal a perk such as For The People when you're injured near a healthy survivor. So that that injured survivor knows the other survivor might be trying to FTP them. Doing this with as many perks (and addons like the insta heal) would be ideal.

Other examples: Showing a survivor has Ace in the Hole when you're opening a chest near them; revealing which survivor has BT/No One Left Behind when someone's on a hook; reveal a survivor has Deliverance active when they're hooked; revealing whether a survivor has DS or OTR (or Endurance effect) active when getting chased by the killer etc.

In fact, if you could (at least toggle an option) to SEE other survivor perks the same way you see yours (albeit a much smaller UI), I'd LOVE that.

Agree. If someone else has the perk the Survivor needs, displaying it will help the weakened Survivor. Development can be improved without buffing the swf.

I think multiple people have probably thought of it, but implementation has been delayed because it is a difficult road for BHVR to realize.

  • @ratcoffee said:

This is incorrect. The stats that BHVR published 2 weeks before you made this post, show that advanced survivors have between a 39% and a 48% escape rate, depending on their party size. Those numbers are less than the 60% you claim.

As I have pointed out several times, this is an "average" between the top players. If that's not the case, then there shouldn't be a killer player in the world who boasts a 90% kill rate. Right?

    Let's study statistics.

"You survivors" buddy ive been a killer main since day one im not sure where you're getting at? I'm not saying it should be that short, I'm saying BHVR needs to add something else to go with the gens and THEN shorten gens and make the other objective a more interactive one, I personally want maps increased in size with across the board buffs for both sides, this is a damn video game it's supposed to be fun not a snoozefest because some people cry to these devs for more nerfs when in reality they just suck at the game and BHVR has catered to that, the fact people want more for solo survivor when the hud tells you everything blows my mind I mean can they not read? And some people still think gens are too fast lmao what a joke that is

Making the map wider will only reduce M1 killers and increase nurses and blights. Please understand what that means.

Completion of 5 generators can be completed within 5 minutes at the earliest, and in most cases within 10 minutes at the latest. What is required of survivors is temporary relief. You can figure out most of the movements just by looking at the HUD and seeing where other survivors are heading and what icons they are flashing. The problem lies in the lack of ability to understand what the information shows even when it is provided.

Most of the recently added base kits are called training wheels. This is a joke because it meaning to survivors impossible to ride a bicycle without training wheels. Despite being so disparaged by many advanced killers and survivors alike, many survivors still want "training wheels."

You lost me when you said DS is still good, that sir is a blatant lie and it's funny because you tried to justify it by saying "if you go down by a window"

Survivor is in a bad place because it's boring not because it's hard, you spend more time watching progress bars than actually having fun and all it really takes is one person not doing anything to actively ruin the game for three others

So, let's make the survivor go down in a 20 second chase, make the generator complete in 50 seconds, and make it so that if the killer kicks the generator, it will break by 50%. This will save you a lot of time while maintaining balance.

The only way you survivors can enjoy the chase is by facing the task of completing the generator. Don't forget. If that's not the case, then you shouldn't be fun dbd in the first place.

  • @felipesegatto1 said:

obviously it is extremely killer sided solo and swf at all MMRs. the data says it all. 4 man swfs only win 48% at high MMR

High MMR will inevitably increase the chance of encountering Nurse and Bright. That's what it means.

  • However, even if developers blindly give things to survivors, they don't know how to use them, so they end up calling them all "useless."

There are many experts who are actually using it and have proven that it is useful, but they ignore them. Tools choose the user, and the user who cannot choose the tool will not be chosen by the tool.

  • High MMR or not is not required, at least not here. What you need is whether you can explain it, whether you know it, and whether you have actually demonstrated it.

It would be great to clear up some misconceptions about MMR. MMR is not displayed clearly, so at least that will be a relief.

The only reason those boring mechanics were added was because most of the surviver players tools were taken away from them. No dead hard, no ds, no insta heals, nerfs to loops, gen times increased, healing increased, toolboxes, medkits etc etc etc.

They've already tried this with perks but killers just tunnel one person out then use the rest of the perk against a 3v1 especially at 5 gens is almost a guarantee win unless you are a baby killer. One of the biggest problems is killers tunnel to get to high mmr then complain about everything survivors do because they aren't supposed to be in that mmr to begin with because BHVR holds the killers hand.

People say OTR alone is not enough. The plan I proposed would allow him to withstand one more rescue, and if the first rescue goes well, he would be able to return to work fully recovered. Please look carefully. The first survivor will go down in one hit, so the killer will want to target that.

However, if you keep this specification, no one will come to your rescue for fear of being defeated in one hit. Therefore, while someone is hooked, survivors will take a deep wound if receive a hit.

If this system is adopted, tunneled survivors will survive several extra hits, increasing their chances of survival. The Killer wastes a lot of time doing this, so it's easier to target and knock down Survivors who aren't already hanging, increasing overall control. In the first place, the purpose of building a tunnel is to permanently reduce power generation efficiency, and if it is possible to suppress power even temporarily, that is the choice.

  • Everyone knows that lights out is a disadvantage for survivors. Please be aware of this and enjoy it.

In fact, Survivor play has been well-received by players who have become accustomed to the daily disadvantages of playing Killer, saying that it was very exciting and interesting.

  • @Ayodam said:

Sanctum is killer-sided. This is common knowledge. It has this one good loop (as you see, although this doesn’t always spawn) but the rest of the map is fairly bleak for survivors. Nevertheless, those players were obviously not great. But then again OP is probably pretty good anyway so even if they were I doubt they would have faired well.

First of all, this is common knowledge, but even though the Legion can inflict injuries, it is only as M1 killer that can deliver the finishing blow. Injured survivors can be chased anywhere for a certain amount of time by simply running to the four corners of the map. Therefore, the region allows 1 to 2 generators to complete as a survivor advantage after the opening.

From there, unless a survivor slacks off, one generator will be completed by the time one survivor is sacrificed. This can be accomplished even if the survivors aren't very good at chasing.

And as I mentioned earlier, there are clearly signs that the survivors made a huge mistake. In other words, the result of this match was the result of blunders in everything: the chase, the gen completion strategy, and the anti Region tactics.

  • I don't believe in God, but three words popped into my head.

We can kind of guess what happened in this match. The last survivor has fallen near this area, meaning he is being chased without taking advantage of his geographical advantage. Two generators near here are also being repaired. This is because even though the opponentfrom Region, they are crowding together and plotting to complete the generator. In this map, the survivors were required to spread out and take charge of the generators, but they completely neglected to do so. If done poorly, none of the survivors will make it to the other side.

Even from short information, even someone at my level can infer this much. People who think there's no problem because at least the killer is winning don't understand game balance at all.

  • Honestly, until I came across this thread, I thought I was a bit too harsh on people. However, this video proves that Survivor is not taking advantage of maps that are biased in favor and disadvantage, and survivors have made enough mistakes against Region to allow the end with fourth generation on this map.

This is a nightmare. Even in the best region in the world, it is impossible to achieve a 4-generation match on this map unless all the survivors are beginners. However, there are so many people who look at this result and complain that the killer is too strong. Someone please tell me this is a joke. I don't want to believe it.

  • The most absurd thing about this video is that despite having such a powerful map generation for survivors, they left after 4 generations. And many viewers just looked at the result of that match and thought "Survivor was the OP? It promise to make me laugh."

I had no idea that people here had so little understanding of the game system and how survivor's side screwed up the match. If we were to create a balance based on these people, it would naturally be necessary to introduce base kits and protection systems to the survivors.

Its not even that bad considering the rest of the map is usually pretty garbage in terms of spawns. Youd also have absolutely 0 reasons to go there the moment they complete the gen in that area, if there even is a gen.

A survivor with a reasonable mindset would leave the generator near here and complete it elsewhere, and if in a pinch, escape here to buy time. The killer probably won't come after you until the end. Because I don't have time for that. All survivors are safe.

  • No matter how much money you spend, it means little if many SoloQs can't put it to good use, and only the survivors who want to take advantage of it with evil idea will benefit.

What is needed is the sharing of theories and ease of learning.

  • If tunneling should still be stopped, a system must be established that balances the merits of the killer distributing the survivors evenly and the demerits of tunneling.

Would you all here agree if I were to convert a Survivor's Hook State +1 directly into the number of hits they can withstand from a Killer?

At first, all survivors will fall with 1 hit, but when they are rescued from the hook, they will instantly recover 2 and fall with 2 hits. A Survivor whose hooked state has progressed to 2 will be rescued, healed to 1 hit, and will not fall until he receives 3 hits in total. Attacks from chainsaw and the like will hit him as 2 hit damages.

If things go well during the first rescue, the survivor will be able to escape fully recovered, and during the second escape, the survivor will be able to withstand at least one attack with only minor injuries. This makes it worth bringing OTR, and the killer will actively try to find survivors who will die in one hit to have a deterrent effect.
