  • Crowns are weak killers for high-ranking players, and in reality, there was no problem even if the number of pinky add-ons was kept at 3. This is because, unlike the Huntress's ax, the Survivor will not be knocked down just by hitting it.

However, using the pinky finger is not his true preference, and in fact, it is the aura visibility add-on that is often used, so if that was not nerfed, I think it would have been a buff overall.

With the increase in the number of bottles, he will actively use antidotes to improve his ability to patrol the map. He was only capable of chasing, but now he can focus on patrolling the generators.

  • This game is divided into killers and survivors, the killer's goal is to kill as many survivors as possible, and the survivor's goal is to complete as many generators as possible and escape from the gate after gen powered. Chase and rescue, shine a flashlight in the killer's face to free the survivors, cure them, hide, and everything else is all about how to complete the generator. As long as you misunderstand the essence of this, you all will continue to be beaten by even the M1 killer forever.

Im well aware of the intention of his post but for the most part it just comes off as: "If youre homeless, just buy a house". The large majority of complaints from Survivors stem from Solo Q, and these arent solutions to it since it requires communication. And no, you shouldn't need to run specific perks to remedy this.

Running around at the beginning of the game just to try and find a 3 gen wastes time which you dont have, but isnt an issue as a SWF since they can cover much more ground thanks to comms.

Same goes for breaking a 3 gen, its a lot easier to pressure them thanks to communication and good coordination, 2 luxuries that Solo Q doesnt have.

Tunneling is also something that is much more effective thanks to a lack of communication. Sure you might be able to see that the person that just got unhooked is being chased, but how do you know you should take the hit right away? If there are plenty of resources in the area then the unhooked Survivor is mostly fine and can likely buy more time for their team, before eventually needing a hit. But what if all the resources are used up? Theres no way of knowing.

Then theres another angle to look at it. What says they dont want to be tunneled? What if theyre bringing the killer top side with DS while the 3 gen they want their team to break is bottom side?

In any of these scenarios it is much harder as Solo Q since you dont know their perks, you dont know the killers perks, but most importantly you dont know their intentions.

He didn't tell you all to buy a house. Everyone complains that they can't buy a house, so they suggest that if they want to buy a house, they need to earn money, so they should do this to earn money. He's just saying he can't buy a house unless he earns money.

It just seems to me that I'm rejecting his voice at that point. Of course, I can understand the criticism that earning money is too difficult and unfair. However, these actions are not difficult at all and are something that almost every "intermediate soloQ"can do.

I recently provided some assistance and guidance to a player who said that his opinion on ARP was at odds with his opinion on generator completion. No one wants to know or learn even these things. why? This is a historically famous and basic strategy for DBD. Anyone who is interested in DBD or simply likes it can reach to this strategy.

I disagree, it's constructive to criticize the team players who need improvement, not the game they chose to play. This is my whole point, gamers who refuse to improve but will instead blame game mechanics, mmr etc. At no point did I point my finger at so called noobs but instead players that should know better and need to be better.

Well, I think we were able to collect a valuable sample that says, ``No matter how good you are, it's meaningless if people don't think it's good.'' We can't be miserable survivors, we just have to be legitimate players and play good survivors.

  • First, I'll write down the important things so that I don't forget them. Hooked survivor is safe while hanging on the hook. This is because he only suddenly changes after 60 seconds, and by simply trading the hook just before that, his survival time will be greatly extended even if the survivor who escapes from the hook is tunneled.

And sometimes it's better to rescue the hooked survivor once the killer is a little further away. This is because the killer digs a tunnel because he wants to prevent the generator from completing as much as possible, and there are times when he would rather destroy a generator that is about to complete than dig a tunnel. If you want to acquire the ability to guess what the killer is doing now, you should actually play the killer, but even if you don't, you can still acquire some knowledge by watching videos of the killer playing.

  • In other words, survivors should not skip completing gen while someone else is chased. If they had done that, it would have been a mistake on the part of the survivor and they would have lost to the killer. It's not that the survivors are at a disadvantage, it's just that they abandoned their strategy to win on their own. The reason why experienced survivors say that survivors have an advantage over M1 killers is because they carry out these operations properly.

This thread only describes the basics of the strategy, and even if it fails, it is not difficult to implement.

  • @Firellius said:

Again, it doesn't matter. The point is that doing gens 'as fast as possible' and doing gens securely are mutually exclusive.

So that's where survivors can show off their skills.

Killers have serial behavior, survivors have parallel behavior. Survivors use their advantage in numbers to attack from multiple angles. While someone is being chased by the killer, everyone else can safely work on completing gen. Survivors who slack off are just giving up a way to killer win. Chases are not for Survivors to kill time and play with the Killer, but to keep other Survivors safe and completing the generator. Hurrying the completion of the generator is an action to give meaning to the actions of the survivor who is being chased so as not to waste their actions. That is teamwork and the mission of survivors.

  • ...Well, depending on the map, the generators that all survivors should place importance on are determined, and of course the killer also wants to protect them, so mind games occur. Therefore, instead of doing what the survivor wants to do, it is important to do what the killer does not want they to do. This is the basis of all competitive games, not just DBD. Whether it's a fighting game, FPS, or chess, that's the case anyway.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669734#Comment_3669734

Doesn't change anything though. If you want to avoid getting 3-genned, you will want to distribute your gen pressure which means you can't do it as fast as possible.

Do you know the structure of ARP map? In this map, it is true that the survivors will have an advantage if they complete gen closer to the center, but if they can only complete the generators in a biased area after that, a 3 gens problem will occur. In fact, all DBD players who have been playing for many years know that they must avoid this as a priority.

Therefore, the Trapper, who has low mobility and wants to gain an advantage by expanding the trap area, will actively protect one side of the map as his home. Of course, the survivors understand this, so they either capture the area that the Trapper wants to protect first, or they all attack the Trapper's promenade in waves after conquering all the other areas.

I feel like I'm playing a different Fractured, because...I think the balancing while better than before is still REALLY bad, but it's also very RNG dependent. Sometimes I can get 5 very strong loops back to back, but then multiple dead zones that feel miserable. Overall if the survivors simply predrops on this map when the RNG is on their side, they will win.

Well, sometimes it depends on luck. Well, even taking that into account, the benefit of the smaller map is great, so it's good for killers now. The previous version was a map that was extremely advantageous for survivors.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669696#Comment_3669696

The middle gen in ARP is a key gen that must be completed early if a 3-gen is to be avoided. Otherwise the map gets dramatically reduced in size.

If you complete each 2gen on both ends, there will be 1gen on both ends. One survivor is in charge of a gen and another is in charge of the opposite gen, the killer cannot sabotage both at the same time. In ARP, the theory is that survivors aim for this chance of winning. This is a classic strategy that everyone has known since long before the map was reworked.

Aiming for the middle gen is only done when the killer is chasing a single survivor for a long time to avoid completing gens at both ends. If they attempt is discovered and you are chased by the killer, if you have completed many generators in one direction, run there, otherwise stay in the center. Every need to deal with it dynamically depending on the completed generator and the killer's aim. Once I can do this, they can graduate as a beginner.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669675#Comment_3669675

Can you explain why this is the case?

Read the entire sentence, not just the first half.

Are you referring to the central generator in Azharov's Resting Place? If so, I'll give you the correct answer, but he didn't tell you to complete gen there. In the first place, in ARP encourages the completion of generators at both ends without bias. What he's saying is a generalization, and it depends on the situation, so that's why he's telling you to memorize the map.

He's warning you not to try to complete gens that are worthless to the killer, but instead to target gens that the killer doesn't want you to complete. It's determined by the map.

  • @Roaroftime said:

I've never played a game in which the players are so reluctant to actually complete the objective, it's like my solo queue teammates don't know what the gens even are and I can only cope with 2 rounds then I physically can't bring myself to play another, it's too painful

You have a right to cry. I never thought that so many people would turn a blind eye to the fact that their actions are holding back other survivors.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669652#Comment_3669652

In other words, you are claiming that what he wrote is reasonable and that there are no people here who are being targeted?

That's not what I'm saying at all. That's not what the OP's intent is, either. OP's intent appears to be to devalue the complaints of survivors on these forums by claiming that they're not just low skill, but dramatically low skill.

In that case, I would simply reply that if I had done what he proposed, there would be no such thing as a 5 gen 1 kill. Because those who are able to follow his theory will never do so. That can't happen unless you choose not to do what he says.

That depends entirely on the game. There can be situations in which the survivors do everything right and it still goes that way. For one, it's disingenuous to claim that survivors should get gens done as fast as possible, while the OP specifically points out that gens should also be done cleverly. Trying to do that extremely crucial mid-field gen on Azharov's Resting Place is always going to be significantly slower and riskier than just bumrushing one of the edge gens.

I myself had a game once where I scored the first hook on Dredge in under 30 seconds because one of the survivors tried to lock a locker I was shifting towards. They weren't doing anything wrong.

"disingenuous to claim that survivors should get gens done as fast as possible" Can you explain why this is the case? Completion of gen is the logic of this game, and everyone should be aware of how efficient and necessary it is to speed up the process. If this is not the case, it will only accelerate the death of the survivor. Do not you think so?

Next, I'm talking about playing against Dredge, but even if he catches a survivor in the locker, it's just a matter of survivors gen progressing towards completion. Only beginners would lose their balance due to an accident of this magnitude.

  • @09SHARKBOSS said:

i am a dredge main do people hate playing against him?

Dredge is an artistic killer. I used to use it a lot, but after watching top-level players play it, I started to like this killer even more. The mind games with him flying into the lockers are very meaningful, and it's fun to outsmart him and be outsmarted.

  • @Firellius said:

What's wrong with the strategy he wrote is that it is irrelevant.

If this thread had been titled 'Tips for new survivors', or 'how to climb out of low MMR', that would've been fine. But it's not, is it? The people he's talking about are not on these forums, reading this thread. Not to mention that the TLDR tries to state that survivor complaints come from the people he describes, and they just very much don't.

That 5 hour blendette who rushed a corner gen and then sat in the basement locker for the rest of the match is not on these forums complaining about tunnelling. So why she's being brought up when people try to talk about how awful tunnelling is for gameplay is beyond me.

This thread asks nothing and offers nothing that's new to anyone here.

In other words, you are claiming that what he wrote is reasonable and that there are no people here who are being targeted?

In that case, I would simply reply that if I had done what he proposed, there would be no such thing as a 5 gen 1 kill. Because those who are able to follow his theory will never do so. That can't happen unless you choose not to do what he says.

  • It's a nurse. I myself use nurses a lot, so I know how to chased from she. It's fun to play the mind games of running away from her unreasonable onslaught for a long time and rushing gen while she chases other survivors.

  • Yes. He writes about strategies that survivors should do more of. If you want to deny or criticize him, you should point out if there is a mistake in his strategy. Survival rate is not relevant here. This is a thread about how to increase survival rate.

I already mentioned it. if a whole lot of people are complaining about something, i think "this is actually a problem" is a more likely solution than "without seeing these individual people's gameplay, i will assume they all need to improve on these specific things"

That doesn't address the purpose of this thread. There are specific things to do, so is it really what you need to do? Please state.

If you think there is something written that we should not do, please provide another concrete example of what we should do. That's what this thread is asking for.

  • @ratcoffee said:

i was trying to make the point that I was not complaining about the specific thing you'd brought up - I guess I was trying to make the point "am I allowed to have my specific opinion or is that one also problematic?"

I got it. Anyway, let's get back to the subject. What did you think of the original content of this thread?

  • @ratcoffee said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669585#Comment_3669585

I never said anything about eliminating someone at 5 gens, I just said tunneling in general

In that case, let's leave that content to another thread. What did you think about the beginning of the thread?

  • @ratcoffee said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669570#Comment_3669570

I win 90% of my games without tunneling, so I think tunneling is not necessary to win.

Also, I find it really boring to tunnel, and I find it really boring to play survivor in a game where someone who isn't me is being tunneled. The reason I complain about tunneling is because 80% of the time it means the game is going to be incredibly boring.

That doesn't make sense. If the survivors weren't at fault, the tunnel wouldn't kill a survivor in 5 gens, so why is everyone criticizing it? about it.

  • Since you brought up Freddy as a contrast, please explain the method in detail like at the beginning of this thread. However, just mentioning Freddie's name does not negate the content of this thread. This is a thread about what to do and how to do it, not about survival rates.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669559#Comment_3669559

What do people who ignore the purpose of the thread

All of your posts in this thread have been more verbose versions of 'u bad lol', so I don't think you can point fingers at anyone else.

Yes, so my opinion is that the first content of this thread is the basics, so let's all stick to them, and if we can't stick to them, Survivor won't win, right? I Just say that.

  • @ratcoffee said:

One thing I've learned is that if one person is complaining about something, it's probably because they're a whiner, but if a whole lot of people are complaining about that thing, there's probably a problem that needs addressing.

Certainly there are some people who could benefit from your specific advice, but it feels almost disrespectfully reductive to act as if there couldn't possibly be some truth to those complaints.

I know what you mean. So why is everyone making such a fuss about tunneling 5gen? People who follow what is written at the beginning of this article will never fall into such a situation unless it is an accident. And the content written is by no means advanced, but rather just the basics.

If every agree you, almost everyone is failing to even follow the basics.

  • @Gabe_Soma said:

Freddy is not weak, you just need to get better.

That's the summary of this thread.

So, how can Freddie become better? Please suggest concrete things and tactics for him to do. Only when you get to that point can you deny the purpose of this thread. If you don't do that, what you say is just hate.

  • What do people who ignore the purpose of the thread and just spew hate want to do? Almost everyone here never mentions what survivors should do to survive better.

    @ChuckingWong said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669551#Comment_3669551

Yea the majority of players who play this game do not make it past 20 seconds in chase, you can forget 40. Thats just how it is even against something like Pig or Meyers. As for where to go down, that is out of the survivors control until they get to the more advanced play, where they CAN make chases last 40seconds or more.

Several minutes remark was as a collective not just one person. Should clarify what I mean by several as well, long enough to make it difficult for the killer to keep pressure even with slow down.

If any facing the M1 Killer, the survivor can just run straight away, and if get hit, just run straight further away, which will buy you more than 20 seconds of time. It's shocking to me that I can't even do that.

  • @ChuckingWong said:

Survivors need to improve and get better

Yea so do killers, and it is saying A LOT more about killers given just how low Nurses kill rate has been.

There's a reason the most powerful killer in the game, twice now, has been on the low end of kill rates.

Its because the majority of killer players (not pointing fingers at anyone here) that play this game aren't that great. And they get away with it due to the OTHER side not being that great either.

The only difference here is you have an advantage of speed/power and mechanics that survivors aren't meant to directly counter.

To get to the level of several minutes of looping a killer, or spreading gen pressure correctly, check spots etc... All of the things that generate a difficult match for the killer takes A LOT of work (for the majority of players). Whereas for the killer, it takes very little from them to get the outcome of 3k/4k (for the majority of players) to make it very hard for the survivors.

The majority of people who play this game are most likely not that competitive/sweat about it. And probably play this to casually have some fun. Unfortunately, in SoloQ you get bunched up with a mixed bag of casual players/gamers and this is where the issues come in. And unfortunately, you can't control what will make it into your que.

A chase for a few minutes? You don't need that. Even if your opponent is a nurse, if you can survive the blink attack twice, you can gain about 40 seconds before going down. If everyone does that, the generator will powered. What Survivors need is not to not go down, but to go down in an advantageous spot.

No intermediate or advanced player saying they need a chase for several minutes.

  • Honestly, I can't stop laughing when I see the story so far. Why does everyone talk about the survival rate and not the purpose of the thread? The reason the survival rate is low is due to the actions of the survivors, so this is a thread about what we should do to improve it.

By the way, the subtitle of this thread is "Beginner Survivor's Guide." In other words, this content is practiced by "all intermediate level survivors and above" to varying degrees.

In other words, anyone who cannot understand what is written here is definitely a beginner. Whether you're a self-proclaimed 5000 hour player, someone who plays both Killer and Survivor and is doing well, or someone with a high MMR. The truth is all clear in the replies to this thread.

  • Again, this is a test to check your understanding of dbd. He need answers, not propaganda. Don't mistake.

  • The essence of this problem is that many survivors mistakenly believe that a winnable match is an unwinnable match just based on appearance. They just don't admit that they lost.

  • This is an eternal issue, but I also don't think it's a good idea to have a system where the difficulty level changes depending on the device. There may be a lock-on function.

  • I think it's okay to exist. It would be great if we could communicate not only through text but also through icons and marks.

  • Of course, all of this is case by case. However, he warns that many survivors are too blind to their foolish actions and give the killer an advantage.

  • @woundcowboy said:

You clearly haven’t played fighting games. Top players win literally hundreds of games in a row in ranked play. These winstreaks are possible because of bad play by the average survivor team. Nothing special here.

Probably higher ranking in dbd means Platinum or higher in Street Fighter 6. And many players say that "balancing the game for them is very stupid."

  • This is a dbd test. The answer to this question will prove your dbd skills.

Even 4-man Survivor streaks aren't very long and they aren't restrictive at all.

Even Clown has a higher 4K streak than Survivors have and the Survivors counted 3 escapes as a win.

Yes, so it's a result of bad survivors not doing their jobs and holding back survivors who aren't. It's just that too many survivors don't work.

In fact, life as a survivor is extremely comfortable if I have the right people to work with, including me.

"Free escape"? They managed to get through 5 gens without dying, that's already an achievement. The killer shouldn't get a free kill at that point just because.

Therefore, when the killer knocks down all the survivors, there should be no reversal. Survivors are not allowed to get up, 4%, or reach the hatch. Isn't that so?

  • @Saiph said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3668846#Comment_3668846

Albyaround attempted a soloQ survivor streak ~6 months ago on his stream. He tried for a full week then gave up. Not only did he fail to achieve more than 5-6 wins in a row, but the last day was so bad that he couldn't even win a single game anymore, his teammates kept suiciding on hook and every single killer was slugging to deny him hatch. The games were surreal. He ended up being genuinely triggered, shut off the stream, then afterwards deleted the VOD and said he would never attempt an escape streak again. I've never seen Alby get that angry.

Of course, this is a tragedy because there were no more three Mr. Albys. Survivors who are selfish are always an obstacle to survivors who are not.

The worst enemy of a decent survivor is a bad survivor, not killer.

  • In exchange, let's remove the hatch from this foggy forest. Then we're both even.

  • Unless survivors learn countermeasures, they will continue to give the killer an advantage. If it is discovered that there is a DMS, normally advanced users will not carelessly touch the generator as long as the activation conditions are met. If I feel that I should complete the generator after watching the killer's actions, I will do so.

Everyone has reached a stage where they need a desire to learn.

  • Survivors have an advantage, but highly mobile killers can relatively compete with survivors.

  • In Asia, it is considered to be the top crap map. Unless the survivor makes a mistake, the killer basically has no chance of winning.

  • A map so well designed that it is always used in tournaments.

  • Not to mention the strength of the main building, the grounds extending in two directions from it make patrolling difficult for the M1 Killer.

  • This is a map that benefits survivors. In addition to the strength of the main building, the opposite side is also blessed with a loop, so it will always be a match where Survivor controls the pace.

  • Not only the top 5%, but everyone above intermediate level recognizes that the M1 killer is at a disadvantage.

Still, the reason why it is emphasized that the top 5% are a special case is obvious, probably because most of the players are beginners. I got the impression through this forum that out of all the players, probably 80%+ are beginners, and only about 10% are considered intermediate.

If so, that would explain why intermediate survivors keep losing to M1 killers. If MMR is the reason, intermediate players should be matched with beginners, but also likely to be matched with advanced players. However, in reality, most people meet people who are of a lower rank than them.

The only explanation for this is that it is due to the population ratio. There are almost no people above the intermediate level, and beginners are always crowded below. So it's natural that the Survivor has an advantage over the M1 Killer but isn't able to take advantage of it.

  • Please think of the Legion as a type that specializes in understanding the board surface. It is very important for the killer to know where the survivors are and what they are doing, and by inflicting injuries on the survivors and finishing them off when they are unable to move, they force the survivors to rebuild their situation.

If it's boring, it's not really a killer to play.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 20
