theres already 3 now . rip.

honestly idk what it is but since the last PTB I've been doing a lot better on haddonfield as a killer.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they collectively said they couldn't take anomalies like that into account, and it was part of the reason they said to take the stats with a grain of salt.
AKA, not to take the stats seriously.
Yet, people like you are studying them like a religion.
no what I'm saying is peanits said he takes the end results of the match such as who escaped and who died . I'm saying you cant say killers have a op kill rate when they consider hook suicides kills.

dont forget the swf, dont forget keys, dont forget everything you ######### about to give survivors that 25%.
at the point stats demonstrably prove you wrong you should have the humility to keep quiet.
peanits said they consider hook suicides kills in the stats so yeah. ...

That way you could down the unhooker, slug him, down the unhooked survivor again. Go back to hook the person that unhooked earlier, go back to the survivor that just got off the hook and rehook him.
Sounds pretty bad tbh, that survivor should still get to use DS in that case.
but that's not tunneling...
-
@Peanits said:
That is quite the conspiracy, but to clarify a few things:
- We don't use just that data + other data to balance, we also take a look at feedback and watch/play the game ourselves.
- The data does not show hooks, only the state of the survivors at the end of the match (dead, or alive).
For what it's worth, though, this is why we tend not to do stats very often.
question, do you you guys count people who died due to hook suicides as kills ?

Having played against you, you're opinion is of little value to me.
Again, rank 1 killer and rank 1 survivor. Not as much toxicity as people claim. Also, so what if a survivor teabags me at a pallet or gate? Who cares if they get a flashlight save or body block? It's part of the game.
when did I play against you??

For sure waiting in pre-match lobbies for at least 10 minutes, facing constant lobby dodges, having to restart lobbies because not everyone in the party gets in. Damn, just thinking about how great us SWF have it. Wow.
Maybe killers dodge SWF lobbies bc half of yall are toxic 🤔🤔

Slugging in general should be removed from the game. Every survivor should be able to pick themselves up when the recover bar is maxed. Increase the time required to do so, but still.
how would you counter DS then?

Eh, you can't honestly deny that survivors gen repair speed, and item repair buffs needs to be heavily nerfed.
repair speeds getting nerfed would lead to a lot more survivors using toolboxes thus making the nerf void.
-
@The_Second_Coming said:
Or, decrease repair speed all together?
Why not both?? it's not fun so we should obviously nerf survivors to the ground.

What you're saying is easier said than done. What if I'm using two of those add-ons and Thanataphobia? What stacks? The add-ons clearly shouldn't, but can it stack with the perk? If not, which effect gets used? Even if you have a good system for that (i.e. Use the highest value), how do you stop it from stacking with Ruin and PGTW?
I don't mean to make it sound like I disagree, I'd be a-okay with not stalking slowdown, but it's not an easy thing to do.
Why not get rid of their stacking ability?

Still a kill. Just like a killer who goes and stands in the corner or concedes a map. Still an escape. Or one who let's survivors go just to be nice. Still an escape.
By your logic, we should remove all successful face camps and hard camps that die on first hook. Does not work that way.
it shouldnt count as a kill for stats, thatswhy devs said they dont make their decisions on just stats because there are other variables such as hoom suicide that contribute to the "above 50%kill rate" or survivors throwing the game and not helping their teammates.

Yes but... On the other hand it doesnt... Because you tunnel and camp 1 guy out you have 1-2 gens left and 3 suvs that hasnt got hooked once.
The tunneling I'm talking about is going after someone after you hooked another person even though they were just unhooked.

That's only one person though, the rest of you're team could be destroying them, making him have 0 power. And if you're in a chase then you can't stop Freddys or Hags traps either.
and your point about that only would be one person doesnt matter , majority of the time you aren't playing with a SWF so nobody is going to run and try and disarm thetrap while you're in a chase.

you have to be asleep for freddys traps to work and trapper using his traps like that would be cheap and OP. st least with hags traps she cant prevent you from getting away, I think what your missing is the fact that trappers traps demobilize survivors. freddys snairs only slow them down while hags only allows her to teleport. and her traps are easy to get rid of you just need to shine your flashlight on them.
-
its hard to pressure 4 players at once. especially on the rare occasion that they're a SWF.

You are ignoring Legion's kill ratio, which is at or above 50%. Nothing to do with pipping. I believe Clown was the only one below 50%. If I remember correctly, he was at 46%. BHVR said that DCs were not included in the stats and were treated as outliers.
Now, does that mean all killers have no problems? No, it does not. But it does go against the idea that killers in general need a buff.
you also have to remember that a lot of people like to kill themselves on their first hook, I see my teammates do it all the time especially when playing against Freddy. it completely ruins the game for us teammates.

@The_Second_Coming said:

That would put lobby dodging at an all time high. Not sure what you're talking about. Killers already check profiles and dodge SWF's as it is. This idea has been brought up before, and has been shot down every time for that reason.
The only way to "solve" SWF is to actually bring solo players up to that level and balance around it.
you cant check profiles and see if they're a SWF on console :(

Altruism, yes. But you get zero reward if your mates make it out the door.
yes but you gotta unhook them to get en out.

@MissBehavingX said:
I dont understand when people get mad about "gen rushing"
To me it's the killer's fault, even if I'm the one being "gen rushed" I honestly think it means I'm doing a terrible job at catching the surivors. I'm the one being slow and giving them time to finish the gens, and like someone said, doing gens is basically the only job survivors have. Saying survivors are gen rushing is just an excuse of doing a bad job at killing them, if you killed/hooked one person the gen repair slows down, if you kill 2 it slows down more and so on..
I dont understand why survivors get mad at tunneling, like just dont get caught xD

Body Block Hag does this already. Plus his Traps can be destroyed and taken out of the game, unlike Hags or Freddys. It really wouldn't be as OP as it sounds since his Traps are so easy too counter.
yeah you're right except you cant destroy a trap during a chase .

@The_Second_Coming said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/906178#Comment_906178
That's not gen rushing. That's being smart. You get no reward if your team mates survive the trial. It's every person for themselves.
er what? theres a whole category for altruism points??
-
Also if she leaves you alone and you are not fully sick try not to run, it speeds up the process of you becoming broken.
-
@BunnyTheHutt said:
Honestly, the best fix for him is for him too spawn with all his traps like all trap based killers, and rework the bag addons. Currently the best thing too do for trapper is 3 gen strat, get all the traps too your zone, then stay there the entire game. That's the best way I've been able too use him.
the biggest reason he would be OP is because he would be able to instantly shut down every loop he comes along. all he'd have to do is put one of his 10 traps down.

Two options
A. Check the area better, if they are tapping it the second you leave, they are still close to it to do so. Make sure you secure the area
B. Bait the tap. Kick it, walk away for 3 seconds (or roughly there about) and make sure you break line of sight with the gen. Then turn right back around; if they are tapping the second you leave, then turning back around at that point will catch them either back on the gen, or walking back up to it. Tada. You caught them.
And you also just proved my point. You got two kills. Thats "balanced" in game standards so you have successfully (in theory) achieved the points and scoring nessecary to avoid a de-pip and possibly a single pip upwards. That's a GG in the eyes of the devs and statistically. Learn to not be greedy as a killer and take the 2k. It can still pip you up or safety you at least.

Well it is tunneling actually. It doesn't matter if they go after the injured person few seconds later. I don't know where people got their defintion from. Seem like killers just use what fits them best. Right ? I mean lets pretend it is not tunneling - I'll pretend I am not looking where you going which is very easy while carrying another surivivor and I didn't see you with BBQ and I didn't see you were injured/so I am sure its you/ which is very obvious on any aura reading perk because of the pose and yet I just randomly, out of nowhere, magically come after you because all of the above did not happen and it is impossible to happen. As Echorion said you should really look this from both sides.
The definition for tunneling should be something like not being able to get away from the killer/not being chased for certain amount of time, after being unhooked. Or even better I like what @Spirez said. Tunneling is just made up term. What is actually called it is being a "sweaty killer" - a killer who aways goes after the last unhooked still injured survivor soon afer hes unhooked because they can't really win the game in any other way. These are the same kind of killers who get gen rushed usually because they never interrupt anyone else on gens and you see them complain here very often about it.
what about the survivors that run straight for the person you just hooked ? is it tunneling when you hit them ??
-
Camping to me is when the killer is stays less than 10 feet from you for longer than 2 minutes, and refuses to leave to chase your teammate's.

Because DS is anti-momentum, not anti-tunnelling. The "rework" didn't change that fact.
How does the killer dare get some momentum. How is that fun for the survivors!! Gotta stop them dead in the track!!
I'm pretty sure the devs have called it an anti-tunneling perk...
-
@Rasinbran said:

Because a Killer can just camp a hook and force a hook trade then continue to repeat that process. If you are so concerned about ds just slug.
cant slug someone in a locker.
-
@Rasinbran said:
Tunneling is you going straight for that unhooked survivor and not paying attention to anyone else.
then why does ds work after I've hooked someone else ? 🤔🤔

Which means you still got 2 kills. Also still technically more than half and plenty of time to hold pressure on the map if done properly.
Only situation that partially has an argument is if they 4-genned themselves, and its a cheap way out. But seeing as that happens/has happened <0.5% of matches... I think maybe 3 or 4 times in the combined matches of my gf and I. A grand total of over 1200 hours and so few matches have had 4-gen scenarios.
Still don't see a good or valid reason
"hold pressure on the nap" you cant hold pressure on the nap when the last two survivors are hiding and tapping a gen everytime you leave. you also cant predict 100% of the time where the hatch will doawn

just because you dont see it doesnt mean it's not happening, I've played several games where I killed 2 guys before the 3rd gen was even done and it still happened.

That's not a fair argument. Not every survivor shares a hive mind.
the majority of survivors do though. look through the forums.

@LetsPlayTogether said:
Gen rushing doesnt exist in first place, cause its the way the game is designed. Its like an myth, cause you see very rare a fast Toolbox-Squad, whose callingthem gen rushing would be the only real way talking about gen rushing.
Besides that, tunneling just means youre taking out one survivor on purpose, which just ruins that ones time in play, cause he cant participate in normal gameplay. Killer very much rely on cheap gameplay which only ruins survs time in trial (tunneling, camping, slugging).
lmao I swear survivor's are confusing , one point they'll say to counter ds by slugging then they call it cheap.
-
@Snow_Lep said:
Or...? They still need to do gens to get the hatch to spawn. And if their team gets annihilated then its at least a bit better knowing one person has at least some mercy and hope in finding the hatch after its been shut as doors spawn within easy patrol range.
I don't see the argument here. Gens still need completed to get it to spawn and the only other situation is if their team gets slaughtered before enough gens have been done.
If the first happens and gens get done then you probably weren't winning anyway unless you're rocking noed and blood warden. And the second it juat turns into who can find the hatch first or hoping to pull a key from a chest.
I don't see the issue or argument behind this
2 people only need to do 3 gens to escape. that's not ok. they are basically cutting their objective in half.
-
@Karl_Childers said:
The opposite happens constantly. Many killers complain about gens, but only offer suggestions to slow them down (whether it’s longer gens or additional objective) while not even acknowledging tunneling and camping. So you would agree then, that any nerf to “genrush” should also include a nerf in the base game to tunneling and camping?
sure
-
@aregularplayer said:
Not gen rushing = doing nothing. Not tunelling = chasing other prople, not the guy just unhooked. As you PROBABLY know, there are 4 survivors, you don't need to chase the guy you just hooked...
eliminating one person makes it easier to juggle a team.

If your experience is like mine, those filthy cheaters are getting as many exploits in as they can before the bug gets fixed. I faced about 50 games yesterday and somewhere around 45 of them had basement hookings. In my opinion Behaviour should not have said they were not going to work on banning people for this bug, because that was like saying it is okay to cheat using this bug.
Anyway, if you have been the victim of cheating killers, there is a small chance you can find some relief, though it is not likely. My son and I play together, so we figured out that if one of us is dead we can view the other player and almost have normal movement, though you can't interact with anything. If you are playing with someone else you are with they could also come down to the basement and guide you out, to the top of the steps. You could also have a person on voice chat guide you though I expect this will be much more difficult.
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS FALL! If you can get yourself to fall any distance, it fixes the bug. So that filthy killer that thinks he doesn't have to worry about getting you killed anymore can get the shock of his life when you get out and finish those gens.
Good luck!
yeah but how do you know they're purposefully exploiting it? I didn't find out about this bug till like the day after it started .

Play killer at red ranks for a while and you will understand. I don't feel sorry for any of the salty, teabagging, flashlight clicking, BMing survivors I usually see.
And don't get me started on the toxic SWFs, rocking literally everything under the sun and a key for their free escape to boot. Then talking smack like SWF is balanced.
I play to win, winning is fun, and there is no better way to win in this game then making it a 3v1 as soon as possible.
as someone who plays nothing but killer and has made it to rank one constantly, you dont need to camp to win. you will never get better if all you do is camp.
