Im also noticing that my fellow XBOX players tend to be the worst, and that I am getting a lot of the same people on my team in solo q (PC or console).
-
I just want to play with people around my rank. The people i'm getting have under 30 hours in the game, its absurd. And it never happened before MMR, so im just confused.
-
Im rank 3/4 rn with about 2500 hours in the game, and i'm (mostly) getting paired with people who seem to have bought game the same day. It's really really odd. Is MMR supposed to pair and high and low level together in an attempt to "balance" the game in some weird way? Because it's driving me completely insane. Every game is just a desperate attempt to not down rank because my teammates are hiding in lockers and running away at the first hint of a terror radius.
-
How does MMR actually work? Im at rank 3/4 and i am consistently getting people on my team that don't seem like they've played the game at all.
-
They should just put notes about freezing console players in the notes for flashing and deadhard.
-
they made it a little better on XBOX, but its still an insult the this is their "fix"
-
Its DBD, the game where nothing works
-
Is this a joke?
-
OK. But I haven't been able to down a single survivor in this scenario since the update, so that would mean I'm never actually getting the hit? Then the bug would just be the fact that they are making any noise at all, not that they aren't going down?
-
Its a little better than before on XBOX , but not really fixed, which is ridiculous. 2500 hours played and I've already un-installed it. Really just a piece of junk game now.
-
On XBOX, FPS drops whenever someone is hooked, or a gen is completed. Dead Hard works about 50% of the time instead of 0%. Deathslinger and Nemesis no longer lag when using their gun/tentacle. Overall its still pretty bad, but its better than before. I don't see myself really playing the game anymore. It needed to really be fixed, which is wasn't. It wasn't fixed enough for the game to be enjoyable again. It blows me away how bad this game functions when compared to others. What a shame.
-
There have been a few bugs with items in chests. For example, it showed a med kit when I opened the chest for a few seconds and then switched to flashlight.
Also, perk indicators are also bugged. For example, instead of showing a shared perk indicator for LEADER it shows ADRENALINE instead.
-
So, after a few matches, this is what I've found:
Survivor:
Some lag when loading into a game, and a few random lag spikes per game, so no big deal.
Dead Hard: it works, i used it about 10 times and it only lagged a tiny bit on 1 of them.
Killer:
Some lag when survivor unhooks or Dead Hard's.
Nemesis: no lag at all
Deathslinger: no lag at all
For the most part I would say its a 90% improvement.

For the record, they did know.
In the 5.0.0 patch notes, they acknowledged an issue affecting Xbox users, which means they did extensive testing on Xbox.
They knew and pushed it out anyways. Make your own conclusions as to why they didn't delay it.
THIS. This has been my problem. They knew. Moment of truth anyways, I'm updating it right now (21GB). Im ready to uninstall if it isn't fixed.
-
You all realize they had to have known the updates would break console, right? You all remind me of co-workers Ive had who constantly make excuses for their boss even though they're being taken advantage of. Being positive isn't the same as being a complicit door mat.
-
I don't have any patience left for people who so obviously don't care about their players. They've paid lip service to console optimizing for years and done nothing. They should be abused and insulted, it's a consequence of lying and cheating people out of their money. If I buy a car that breaks down after 50 miles and I can't get my money back Im not going to be understanding towards the people that sold it to me. Im assuming these people are professionals and that consoles failing to play DBD isn't some surprise. We all know they made a cost/benefit decision at some point to continue to update the game at the expense of players using older hardware. Now they're trying to fix the problem after the fact. They should have just released DBD 2 on newer systems and PC only, and left everyone on older console models with the older game.
-
Missing the lagging console players is a minor inconvenience to actually playing on console and dealing with this broke ass game. Console players usually don't get away, they lag out into a wall or the dead hard doesn't even propel them forward.
-
Why would anyone "move on" from the fact that their ######### game doesn't work anymore? I didn't buy a game that was broken, I bought a game that worked and then was broken by the developers. These POS people should be abused at every turn for putting out a completely inferior product and taking peoples money. I mean how TF can you so completely screw up console play in the way that they have? People blink around the map like Tracer from Overwatch (a game that actually works). Im not going to be "understanding" to people who screw their player base over and then have some lame ass anniversary event "celebrating" the game that they so completely #########. ######### these people.
-
Crouch walk , trigger her traps on purpose , run away , bully her , GG. Hag is ok.
-
The only real advantage PC has over console is the fact that console DBD is a lag ridden POS right now. Every chase i get into ends with me lagging into a wall and getting downed. They might have an advantage with a killer like Huntress, but so what, just play around it.
-
The map is great, too bad the game has became absolute ######### on console.
-
NOED is a great way to force survivors to do totems, but it should be changed to be more like Rancor, like the killer can only one hit the obsession, or something along those lines, because it does reward bad play style.
-
Who gives a flying ######### what the next chapter is, the game is completely broken on console. Why would anyone every give these ######### another penny?
-
LOL, Dead Hard hasn't worked for months on console.
-
Its not a skill based game anymore, its a lag based game.
-
Every single action freezes the game.
-
They ruined the game for everyone on console.
-
No
-
-
Shouldn't we all expect a game that's for sale on console to work on console? I mean #########.
-
Im sure its a difficult problem to fix, that doesn't change the fact that they knowingly altered the game in a way that would make it unplayable on console. I can only assume they knew what they were doing all along. We all know they had a meeting at some point where they weighed the costs and benefits of new content/updates/etc. vs. optimization on consoles, and they chose the former, ensuring that a massive part of their player base would have the game ruined.
-
They should have just made a DBD 2 that was next gen console and PC only. I would be fine playing an older version with worse graphics for a little while before I upgraded my console. At least then the game might actually work.
-
This is really rare at higher ranks, and if it does happen, just ignore the person on the hook and finish gens. And make sure to t bag the killer if they chase you.

https://youtu.be/lrR-9al_ah0Here are some more. ######### are we supposed to do?
-
I play on Xbox One, and the lag started for me around the time Pyramid Head was released. Before that, there was limited lag that was similar to any other game. After Nemesis, the game is unplayable. Nemesis is literally unplayable for me since the game freezes every time I charge up his tentacle strike.
-
But for real, the game is a joke on console. It's hilarious to have played during the anniversary event and see all the loading screen notes by the developers how they're proud of the game, meanwhile IT DOESN'T WORK. Playing DBD on console is like playing some old SNES game that gets all choppy and freezes, then you have to take the game outing blow on it, and put it back in. Except now, if you spent any money on DBD for console , you might as well just have set on fire, because you paid for a broken product. You can't lead the killer on any kind of chase, or hope to hit any survivor who does anything else besides run in a straight line. In the private matches I've played, I can tell when someone else (nowhere near me) misses a skill check because MY ENTIRE GAME FREEZES WHEN THEY DO. DBD is a PC only game, and a POS game.
-
I logged back in for the anniversary , played it, saw that nothing has changed, stopped playing and made my post.
-
They're probably taking out their frustration with other toxic players on you.

That's not the fault of the player, that's the fault of the dev's who refuse to optimize console framerates and frame drops.
I know, but Ive thought of running it every game as survivor because I know it will screw over a killer on console, and that's just not a great situation to put console players in.

Hoarder would be so much better if the items rarities would work as intented with it, but I still had a lot of great success with it (However, while it is absolutely great when it works, the amount of times it does nothing is higher). I especially love the locker grabs I get with it. But I never run franklins with it, I just hope they don't get a key. Assuming all chests are looted, what are the chances to get a key with Hoarder?
So, it work for me like this . PI allows me to fin rarer items in chests, and Appraisal lets me search a chest 2 times. So Im bound to find a lot fo rare items in a match, and pass them out to teammates. Ive had a lot of success with it. It like Christmas.
Hoarder allows the killer to see a survivor searching a chest or picking up an item, and it adds 2 chests to the map. So even if all chests are looted, I still get notified when they pick up the items they're dropping because Im hitting them with Franklins. I also get notified about the basement chest, which is almost a guaranteed hook.

I use ace in the hole as well. Underestimated perk
I've thought about running that with PI and Appraisal, but I felt like it leaves me too vulnerable . I love Ace in the Hole though.
-
For Killer: Hoarder + Franklins Demise
Absolutely no one expects this.
For Survivor: Plunderers Instinct + Appraisal
I've pulled 3 keys in a single match with PI + Appraisal. I just have to beg people to let me open the chests.

Sorry bud just got to get used to it. Yes this happens to me as well every single time someone dead hards I actually just swing now so I don't get spun by it anymore (seems to help) which means I can't just bait dead hards. However that being said I still win and maintain rank 1 so theres that. Also sloppy butcher on survivor side does this, and other status effects so it's not just you as killer getting effected so "hacking" bad word for it "Exploit" not any better. People playing this game can use anything they want and people need to suck that fact up like for real. Blame the devs for ######### console optimization not players using a perk.
Blame the devs for [BAD WORD] console optimization not players using a perk. You're right about that.
As a console player, I know the frame rate drops are just part of the game, so I do play to them, and still maintain red ranks. Its just annoying that theres this obvious and consistent problem that I know will not get fixed, and I have chase after chase get ruined by it. Obviously people can use any perk that they want, but if there was a problem with Head On, for example, that allowed a survivor to stun a killer 3X the distance away, the devs would fix it. Or any other example where a perk was doing things outside their intended usage, it would probably get fixed. I guess optimizing console would be the way to fix it, and that's prob not an easy task for devs, so Dead Hard/frame rate dropping on console is just a baked in nuisance that you have to play with and plan for.

So, I am on console, and we do experience frame rate drops on every action that any survivor takes, so there's that. Dead Hard seems to be the most disruptive frame rate dropping action in the game. I'll revise this from hacking to "an unfair exploit" because it's a perk that will cause the killers frame rate to drop. It's like getting hit with Smash Hit in the open field. I also suspect that players know this and run it for that reason. Im obviously annoyed my game freezes when someone vaults a window or drops a pallet, but that's whatever, it seems more fair than someone equipping a perk that gives them a speed burst and nukes my frame rate.
Also, it reminds me of the exploit in Resident Evil Resistance when the Mastermind could switch frame camera to camera really fast to make the survivors lag out. They're not actually doing anything wrong, but it's really lame, and an unfair exploit.
