The balloon idea is neat, but -25% gen speed is very brutal considering it is a power and not a hex that can be cleansed.
There is no explanation for why we are stalking as the Scary Lady (did you have an effect in mind).
I do think the transformations are somewhat too strong, but I do like that they have to be earned and can be canceled. Still flashlight stunning or pallet stunning a 150% speed killer before he eats your face seems unlikely.
Weaker Apart is insanely over powered. What constitutes alone? Does the speed boost stack for each alone survivor? Also Perks need a yellow/green/and purple value.
Take it Georgie would not be a viable perk in this state. Chests aren't reliably opened by survivors and rarer still if a killer is near. Then when you receive the indication you have only 10 seconds to catch them. Hubris gives 10 seconds of exposed at yellow tier when the survivor is near enough to stun you.
IT would be my dream chapter though, and I really hope it gets in the game soon. I know Mathieu Cote said it's a favorite of his as well!
I was thinking the scary lady would just have the pig crouch type of stalk, you don’t earn anything besides being stealthy as scary lady.
-
I think the element of hide and seek is very fun and underutilized, like not staying across the map from the killer but actively being in proximity to the killer and sneaking past them being a life or death decision, I’ve had a blast jumping into lockers around a corner mid chase to outwit the killer or doing a gen and then jumping into some nearby shrubs when I hear my heartbeat.
I think stealth should be equally as important as being good at chase.
-
If you really want this to be a big chapter I think it’d be really awesome to get a Dr Loomis survivor or legendary skin for Laurie and then give Legion trick or treater cosmetics with Halloween3: Season Of The Witch masks.

Candyman is lame, Chucky is lame and wouldn't do anything original, Jason wouldn't do anything original, The Thing doesn't fit, Alien and Predator won't happen, IT doesn't fit, The Shining doesn't even SLIGHTLY fit it's just Jack Nicholson with an axe how is that even a little bit interesting, and who the hell is Tallman?
PinHead is a literal demi god with no weapon and Nemesis is a bioweapon, do either of these really fit to you? I mean Sadako is literally an evil video tape, a lot of things don’t fit dude..

I don't care who/what the killer is so long as they're fun and functional and don't encourage unhealthy playstyles. That's all that matters.
We've run low on famous and beloved horror icons to put in the game anyway so anyone getting upset it's not a licensed character is just being unreasonable. I'd prefer well-designed original characters over shoehorning in weird licensed characters that barely fit into the game.
That’s not my point, my point is the last two chapters have been awful and this chapter might be just as bad, being licensed would at least be less salt on the wound.
and yeah we have a ton of horror licenses that could come out.
Well CandyMan, Chucky, Jason, The Thing, Alien, Predator, IT, The Shining, Tallman.

I don't really get angel vibes from this concept to be perfectly honest, An angels wings are distinct to their holy attire and i feel as if it shouldnt really be the power. The only thing i think of when i see this concept is a revamp of Icarus. For context in case you do not know who icarus is he is a biblical figure whos father made him angelic wings to escape someone. However Icarus arrogance of wanting to fly higher to heaven, caused the sun to break his wings (The material melted) and he fell to his death. The power in itself is a good concept and with a bit of balancing it can be very good. Such as the takeoff the higher the speed the longer the liftoff time vice versa.
Yeah I got inspiration from Icarus, if you dislike the idea for the design what would you recommend the killer to be instead of an Angel?
-
I’m not.. I haven’t been playing for 2 months in wait of something exciting to happen.
Dude the players plummeted for a reason. Because when you say “If game so bad why are you still playing?” WELL a lot of us haven’t been, there’s only a handful of people on this community actually complaining and continuing to play.

@Critical_Fish said:
This is indeed one of the concepts of all time. It's interesting, but difficult to work with because of just how much freedom this gives the Killer, especially at the speed you've allowed them to fly at.
Some missing aspects of the power:
- The way the forging works is never mentioned. How long does it take to forge new wings? Where is it allowed to spawn?
- The time it takes for wings to degrade is never mentioned. How long does it take for this to occur?
- Landing mechanics are never mentioned.
- Hit cooldown when crashing into a Survivor is never mentioned.
- The actual feel or mechanics of flying are never mentioned; is it basically walking with a reduced turn radius and the ability to walk upwards?
Some issues with the design of the power itself:
- There is no penalty for starting to take off. This makes it practically impossible for Survivors to interact with you, and makes this Killer entirely brainless as you can just... stop taking off at any time with no penalty to your speed, potentially getting free hits. I'd say the Angel should be unable to move while taking off.
- There is no acceleration mechanic, meaning you immediately go from 110% speed to 260% speed, which would make for an incredibly high skill floor that makes this Killer almost impossible for those who don't invest dozens of hours to play with any efficacy. Sure, the Nurse exists, but at least there's an add-on that helps with this curve. Perhaps the Angel starts at 110% speed for all wings while in flight, but progresses over a few seconds to max speed?
- Having wings break as easily as getting hit by a pallet or stunned by a flash grenade isn't good design, as it encourages the most passive gameplay for all sides (camping at pallets or not committing to chases, respectively). It encourages Survivors to run perks that aren't nearly worth it against other Killers as well, such as Blast Mine. I'd remove wings breaking from these factors entirely.
- This Killer has an insta-down with no commitment whatsoever... for some reason. I'd remove the grab mechanic entirely, flying is more than enough of a powerful ability to justify having no "chase power".
- The Rare add-ons and up are all very very strong for no discernible reason. Horn makes the Angel a 145% speed Killer on foot, or a 290% speed Killer in the air, which is ridiculous even for 3 seconds. Burnt String makes all chases 0 commitment as you can just... fly away at the same speed Billy moves while using his chainsaw (or faster), with no time taken to do so. Angel Feather is sort of like one of Hillbilly's add-ons, but Hillbilly's saw makes a ton of noise, and his takes a significant period of time to activate. Angel Feather has neither of these drawbacks. Golden Wings are funny but you'd be unable to see anything with hooks highlighted by this add-on. Also, the Killer can already see generator auras, so that aspect of the perk does nothing.
Are perks or more add-ons planned to be added?
Wow thanks for this criticism, it is very helpful!
I’m not sure how I’d describe this in the Powers’s description but flying would work like the Elytra in Minecraft except you have unlimited flying momentum, well until the wings break at least. So you’d glide around face first.
The forging table would just be in a random location on the map, it wouldn’t be much different from a survivor working on a generator aside from a unique animation.
I will continue to tweak this idea

creative idea! it may have some trouble on indoor maps and being able to have a birds eye view over the map will be very strong but i do like this concept and its good to see people passionate enough about this game to come up with their own material !
Thank you, I tried my hardest to make a balanced flying killer. Do you have any criticism on how to make this power better fit the game?

Having 600hrs isint enough time to pin point on what’s really making you have a rough solo queue experience. I can tell you right now that the majority of survivors (85%)especially in high MMR against a smart killer usually don’t do so well because they don’t know how to run jungle gyms, string tiles together properly or run perks that help them waste the killers time effectively in a timely manor. It’s all about split pressure on gens and knowing what you have to work with when the killer starts patrolling and unfortunately most survivors don’t know how to do gens nor loop effectively against a good killer, LIKE NOTHING GETS DONE BUT TIME WASTED IN THE KILLERS FAVOR… simply.
Christ 24hrs is enough to learn this game, you aren’t a professional dude, stop trying to make the opinions of people who don’t grind 6 hours 7 days a week irrelevant.

This idea had so much work put into it, why tf does this community ignore the only cool stuff on this website??
Awesome idea! Would be terrifying!

This game is so crap at the moment, yeesh idk, BHVR will water down most killers to be pretty bland.
Nemesis (A monstrous bioweapon with super strength and military grade weapons) Reduced to Pyramid Head + Plague and uh, 2 pet zombies..
Freddy Krueger (A dream demon with power over your nightmares) Reduced to a DC Scarecrow wannabe..
If we get Jason he’ll probably just be a bad m1 killer with a gimmicky teleport ability
If we get Alien it’ll probably just be a mid stealth killer with 1 or 2 alien eggs.

Well because the actual post is now deleted I don't have exact numbers, but from what I've remembered the ability to push the killer back, stunlock them, blind them with very little agency, etc, all with absurd ammo counts wasn't exactly fair.
For context, a yellow flashlight can blind the killer ~4 times unless you chainblind (which is easily avoidable). It takes ~1.8-2 seconds to blind, and at a useage rate of 1 charge a second and having 8 charges, it has 8 seconds of use.
I remember the blinding gun having between 10 and 15 "bullets" (charges), let alone however many could be added with add-ons. I remember the stunning gun having more than that, too.
Also, I really don't think you understand just how massive turning a killer from 115% to 106% (the 8% slowdown one that was there) is. A 110% killer would become 102% speed. That means that, because Survivors have a smaller hitbox so can hug objects tighter, the Survivor would be able to gain distance. It'd be like if every Survivor was running a better version of hope.
Plus, being able to push the killer back? Absolutely not.
I just don't see a realistic way to make guns, or really any form of truly fighting back against the killer, work in DBD. In other assymetrical games, where the game has been planned and designed from scratch with this in mind? Absolutely. In DBD where you greatest defences are pallets, windows, and a David King perk? No.
Stunning gun only had 4 rounds, and they didn’t even stun the killer they just revealed their aura briefly.
All guns except for the rifle actually stunned the killer, just tiny penalties

@Carth said:
Yes because the idea of 4 survivors spraying chainguns to pin the killer into a corner certainly screams "balanced" on top of it making zero sense thematically for this game.
Survivors already bully the killer, I don’t think we can say anything fits thematically in this game

Like a actual fire arm with bullets or something like slinger? Because if it's just a gun then no that would be impossible to balance. If it's something like slinger I'd be curious to see what they come up with
Well I don’t see the balancing argument since this is a game where people casually survive chainsaws to the back, I would argue that being punctured by a harpoon is more deadly than being shot with a gun.

Ok but can you explain how it wouldn’t work? It’s so boring when a person shuts down an idea with “wouldn’t work”, besides this would literally be weak if survivors just avoided staring at television.

You can do that easily. But you're also not going to win that way, since you're actively avoiding the challenge of the video game to do so. Strategy is a core component of dbd and if you dislike that then you're never going to like the game. Even simple strategies like 3 gens can be a deciding factor in the end.
No, you can be good at a game and turn your brain off to have fun. Strategy is a part of further enjoying a game, and that does not contradict my prior statement since it’s a video game you know? And I’d never take Dead By Daylight seriously in any shape or form for that reason, neither should you.
-
@MiniPisa said:
People have wanted a 2v8 game mode for a long time. iirc, the devs have said they have no intention to add anything like this to dbd, but that was a couple years ago so you never know!
I’m more or less talking about a power that implements co-op and less of a gamemode
-
@SaltiestChip said:
I think it could be possible, but you would have to make a special game mode or make it locked specifically to an event. Having only 4 survivors going up against anything other than 1 killer would tip the scale so heavily in the killers favor that it would break the game in its current state. If you created a map that was HUGE and increased the number of survivors to 6 or even 8, then MAYBE I could see you getting away with 2 killers being in the same game.
Maybe in the future we will see silly daily or weekly game modes that are purely for fun and earning a lot of blood points and or cosmetics for both sides. Or maybe we will see the a whole new game mode entirely who knows.
I also think that you would have to build a killer from the ground up for this. There aren't really any killers in the game aside form maybe The Twins that I could see having interesting game play or interaction from a gameplay standpoint with this. The Twins being able to work simultaneously would be a lot more interesting and fun for the killer, and hopefully the survivor, but ultimately that's what needs to be prioritized, the fun. As much as it would make me laugh manically to see even just 21 legions chasing after survivors in the game, I just cant see it being fun for the survivors. But it is an interesting concept.
Fare, but when I said 4 legions I meant because there are 4 of them in lore

All the people who say that it isn't their responsibility to make the game fun for other people are the same ones that DC when they miss their Dead Hard or lose 3 gens from tunneling a guy. You don't have to actively lose, but you don't have to play like your life is on the line. People take this game way too seriously and in trying to 4k every match they only end up making the game stressful for themselves and overall less fun for everyone. I get to some people it's because they don't wanna get t-bagged or bm'd but u gotta let that ######### go it's childish.
Or we just want to turn our brains off and have fun without strategically thinking about what makes the other side have more fun

Being able to use an emote isn’t gonna make trolling worse since it doesn’t actually do anything, these would just add incentives for both sides.

Friend, I did not mention the Tombstone. But now that you did, I'll say it's an outdated mechanic as well. At least the Tombstone Piece shouldn't exist in it's current form. Tombstone is more or less fine. It's pretty obvious when it's in the game so there is some counterplay to it.
You make it sound like the Tombstone addons have the same effect as Thanatophobia. "Get hit and slow your team down." But it's more like "Get hit and instantly die." At least the Tombstone Piece has to go eventually. You can instantly kill one person at 5 gens remaining.
By the way you're completely missing the point. I said Michael Myers in his current state doesn't fit into the game anymore. He is outdated. A great early game for him is still a bad early game for any other killer. His tier 3 isn't all that powerful, if you can't use it to snow ball and at some point his power will literally run out. His faster vault is becoming increasingly more worthless because most maps are so stacked with pallets that he can't really capitalize on it anyway. His tier 1 is the worst debuff to a killer immaginable. He's undetetable but moves at 105%. That might be useful on Lery's and Midwich but then you get sent to Ormont against a group that knows what they're doing. He needs a rework. His base kit and addons should be looked at.
Tombstone Myers will get clapped by gen rushers, I remember being super confident but then a good team ran me to hell and I didn’t get a single kill.
Plus tombstone Myers takes a super long time to actually get that 1 hit kill, by the time he gets Evil Within3 like at least 3-4 generators will have been completed. If you want to do anything else but stalking you probably won’t even reach Evil Within3 in time to be effective.
Literally all you have to do is look around actively to make sure he’s not watching you from afar, if he is just run away and obscure yourself. Even if he has reached Evil Within3 all you have to do is hide in a locker and be sneaky.
-
Make the Ring Drawing addon base kit and make it so the Condemned status effect can’t be reset, so survivors have to pass on their curse to others in order to survive.
-
Nurse is hard to learn, also stop trying to make every killer the same.
we already have enough boring killers
-
Tombstone Myers is OP but base Myers is underpowered, so this can easily become survivor sided or killer sided
For base Myers make it so he can stalk from longer distances since that’s what he did in the movies and it makes him a weaker stealth killer having to get so close to survivors.
Maybe make him get stronger as evil within progresses tiers, tier1 he’s a normal m1 killer, tier2 he has decreased stun and quicker pallet break time, and then tier3 he just auto breaks pallets after getting stunned.
Maybe give him an insidious perk type ability while stalking where instead of becoming undetectable he gets obscured by a black fog and his breathing becomes silent when he stands still.
Another good idea I’ve heard is that survivors should slowly build up stalk points after they lose them.
Last but not least it should be an option to enter Evil Within3, for more power control.
Tombstone is such a fun addon, either make it so he can only mori one survivor per every time he reaches Evil Within 3 or make it so he can mori survivors during Endgame Collapse.
-
Imo the maps aren’t dark enough during nightfall
-
Trapper should use his traps in the mori, Wraith idk

I feel like this is a survivor pretending to be a killer main or they haven’t actually played Tombstone Myers, because I understand why it might not be fun from a survivor perspective but oh boy is it fun to use as killer. Take out everyone in your path!

@Nazzzak said:
In addition to the points above, it'd just be more things for killers to patrol as well. And if they don't want to patrol then just camp the closest chests or battery casing to stop survivors from even getting to the gen stage. If I wanted to do puzzles I'd play a puzzle game, you know?
Well actually puzzles have been a thing in horror games since day1, iconic horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill had tons of puzzles and the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre game will have you do a first person wire puzzle.
Puzzles do not make this a puzzle game, if that were the case Resident Evil would be considered the worlds most popular puzzle game, this is classic survival horror.
-
Maybe PumpkinHead can curse one survivor so they have a bond of some sorts.

@crogers271 said:
From a conceptual standpoint, part of the problem with making such big changes at this point is that so much of the game would need to be changed (i.e. perks, maps) that it is incredibly unlikely. But let's throw that out and deal with the idea.
Step 1: Adds a giant amount of randomness to the game. You could find a gas can immediately or have to search the entire map. With generators there is not that much a difference in time to finish between a mid-tier and top-tier player (excluding whether they are using a toolbox or not, which is a different issue).
-this is not a con per se, some people really like randomness in games and is part of the appeal of DBD
Step 2/3: More complexity in generator repair would be a challenge for new players while very easy for experienced players. Right now a player who can hit great skill checks with ease is only gaining a few seconds (again, excluding tool box player). Even relatively new players can hit skill checks pretty consistently. Why does this matter? It would make balancing very difficulty. If newer survivors are taking three to four times as long to finish gens what equivalent challenge could exist for new killers to balance this out?
--we kind of have this problem already with SWF gen rush squads using toolboxes to power through gens far faster than most survivors can manage- that's a big problem with the game's balance that we'd just be amplifying here.
*
I think the problem with more complicated/involved elements is that they are going to either swing the game between newer/more experienced survivors and/or create a larger gap between solo and SWF. Adding minigames is a hindrance for newer players and irrelevant for experienced players. Adding more strategic objectives (finding gas) would benefit SWF even more who could call out where the gas is and plan delivery.
As much as the idea of there being "more" to DbD appeals to me, the more I tend to think about it the more I realize it probably wouldn't work. Asymmetrical games probably have to be simplistic by default - the complexity comes from, primarily, the variety of killers and, secondarily, from the clash of different perks and items.
True, regardless I really feel that this game needs to find a way to rebel against gen rushers big time. Something to slow the game down a bit so it can actually be enjoyed and make things more fare for the killer when dealing with skilled players.

My thoughts on this:
Trapper-kun will be in all the promo material and trailers and be statted as the typical antagonist in a slasher movie. Then at the mid-way point of the movie, the survivors will come up with a clever plan with Meg running acropatically through the Ironworks of misery, when Dwight gives the sign for Jake to throw a palette stack on his head and temporary stun him, while Dwights second signal leds Claudette finish the gen that they have tried to repair all the time. Everyone is happy and elated, when suddenly Hillbilly saws through the well next to Dwight and saws poor Dwighty boy down. Then a hatchet comes flying out of nowhere and snipes down poor Meg, with only Claudette barely escaping. Then the Killers fight over who gets the rights to hook Dwight and Meg and one of them manages to escape.
It is then revealed, that everyone is in some sort of limbo, that the Killers are as much prisoners, as are the survivors, and that everyone respawns eventually, but Trapper pays the price for his failure by getting drained of a memory, or some hope by The Entity, just letting him resent it even more, but not willing to let the pesky survivors take advantage of him a second time.
The first movie will feature mostly original characters, but if its a surprise hit, it could kickstart all kind of crazy feature films, in the vain of the late 80s and 90s X vs Y monster movies, were we see for the first time several classic slasher villains square off against each other or maybe even working together. Its such a golden opportunity, but because this stuff is expensive, BHVR would want to cement the franchise first, before entering on the negotiations with the big dogs. It could also facilitate maybe Fryday the 13th etc
It’s too soon to talk about sequels, I think the movie should have multiple different killers. Start people off with something simple like The Trapper, change the direction with someone like Blight, Wraith or Hag and then go completely nuts with an insane killer like Nurse or Dredge.
Make it a crazy semi anthology film where people can go “Oh yeah my favorite was the one that screeched and teleported through walls” and debate which monster was the craziest afterwards.
-
This movie should be a cross between Happy Death Day and The Thirteen Ghosts, the survivors dying and facing a new monster every time.
I really hope this film uses practical effects!

Perk: Ruthless Combatant
Activate this perk at the same time as the Endgame collapse to stab the entity with a wood shank as it clasps its spider like tendrils around your body, in agony The Entity will release you causing the Endgame collapse to be extended by 25/30/35 seconds, this perk only saves you exclusively, other survivors will still get sacrificed to The Entity.
